I’ve heard a lot about this neighborhood restaurant: I’m sorry I went today for lunch: I will NOT be back. There were only a few customers in the place. I sat at a table for 15 minutes before my appetizer, a request for ice water, and a drink order were taken. (Another party that had arrived after me had their orders taken and were served before my waitress emerged from wherever she had been hiding.) I got my requested ice water over 10 minutes later. I tried to get the attention of the GM, but he was involved in a deep conversation with several friends at the bar. I waited for another 10 minutes without any service. Finally, the bartender shouted across the restaurant asking if I had cancelled my drink (I hadn’t). Delivery of the drink (in the wrong glass) took another 10 minutes to travel the 15 feet to where I was sitting. Finally my appetizer arrived, almost a full hour after I had ordered it. My waitress reappeared after another «break», asking if I wanted anything else. Figuring I would probably need to stay at Griffiths for another 90 minutes if I ordered anything else, I declined and asked for the check. Which, incidentally, never arrived. I left money on the table, rather annoyed that an unintended tip was included since I was paying with the limited cash I had at hand. As I said, I will not be back.

What can I say but I was really impressed with the décor and most important the service provided! Was greeted right when I walked in, the staff is friendly and they are all very welcoming! They provided me and my friends great service were very attentive! Been here a couple of times and The food has always been great! They have excellent, pastrami pizza it was the best I’ve tried (Better than Downey Pizza Co.) and their burgers are awesome!!! Nice and juicy, their Onions rings are nice and crispy just how I like them! Will definitely come back! Oh and the Beers are nice and cold and poured well!!! Can’t wait to go back. Will definitely recommend family and friends to come.

Second time on Thursday, karaōke night. Food needs alot of work. Learned my lesson to eat somewhere else. Arrive to enjoy the fun of the singers, service personal OK, and seems like a nice family bar friendly crowd.

Great Saturday night experience here with star bartender Ace making specialty cocktails, and an enthusiastic waitstaff providing good service. Only ate appetizers, which were fine, but others near us said meals were good.

live right down the street and I always find myself coming here! Service & Drinks are always a hit! I try to only go in when Lauren is working cause she’s so bubbly and full of energy. I havent been to this location since it was Mr. B’s
Showed up tonight around 7pm with a few friends to watch the Ducks game. Place was already packed! Settled for a few bar stools along the wall.
Waitress greeted us and took our drink orders. Our beers came out very quickly. Weren’t as cold as I was hoping though. They weren’t warm, but definitely not as cold as you would want.
My buddy ordered a chicken sandwich and it came over extremely fast! He said it was pretty decent. That’s one thing I noticed here you didn’t have to wait long for anything I really liked that. Very prompt service. Even when it came to getting the check. Very Impressive given how busy the place was.
One major thing that bugged me was the bathroom. Not sure if the women’s bathroom is the same, but the men’s bathroom was tiny! I was at the urinal and had a few guys breathing down my back to use it as well. Seriously you couldn’t fit more than a few people in the bathroom at a time. Way too small give the side of this place and how busy it was.
The live band bugged me pretty bad as well. I’m all for live music, but not when you are there for a game and want to listen to that.
Overall, it was an okay experience. The beer not being ice cold, crowded conditions and the bathroom are enough to bring it down a few stars. Great Service though!

I love this place! The food is good, the service is awesome and everyone is so down to earth and fun! The best part is karaōke nights with the AWESOME chocolate Bunny, Shed Washington!!! If you are tired of boring karaōke… come to Griffins on Thursday and Sunday and experience a fun side. You’ll never go back to the dull karaōke again!!! And if you want great food and an awesome staff… every night is worth it here!!!

You have to come out to this place on karaōke night with Shed, THE CHOCOLATE BUNNY. Yes, I’m not kidding. He’s a crazy 6’6″ giant football player looking black dude that wears his trademark pink bunny ears. The man is ccccrrrrraaaaaaaaaaazzzzzzzzzzzzyyyyyyyy funny. THIS IS NO REGULAR BORING KARAOKE. It’s pure Entertainment and good fun for the whole family. There’s never a dull moment. He keeps the action hyped and the entertainment going all night.
He encourages everyone to sing and keeps a-​holes in line that try to take control of the entertainment. He’s a master at making your voice sound great. Other shows run off of a crappy laptop, the music is not synchronized, and they have 50 version of the song you want but they can’t tell you which version is the best, works, etc. The books do not have duplicates, nor does he run off a crappy sounding laptop, or sits on his ass. He works damn hard to keep everyone happy.
He decks out the area with a full laser light show, has a full sound EQ board/​mixer, and professional KJ equipment.
He does physical comedy to keep people entertained (OMG you have to tell him it’s your birthday, he has everyone sing, but you will poop your pants from laughing-​I won’t spoil it DON’T FORGET TO TAKE PICTURES). Puts on a grass skirt and balloons under his shirt and will do duets in falsetto AND HE IS THE MASTER AIR GUITAR PLAYER.
Last but not least, you have to hear him sing at least once. His voice is PHENOMENAL, this dude can put axl rose and Sebastian Bach to shame. Unfortunately, he tries to get everyone up and rarely sings anymore because of 1 or 2 little self important whiny biatches customer asking «is it my turn, is it my turn, oouinnn ouuinn, I’m so important, I have to make sure everyone here’s me sing for the 5^th time» Sit down, shut up and wait your turn! Sometimes, I’ll have a weird smile on my face, but it’s just me fantasizing about wanting to beat the crap out THAT person with Shed’s fake guitar over and over again while Shed sings «Welcome to the Jungle», then hand Shed the bloody guitar for his air guitar solo, then take the guitar back and continue beating these aholes with the guitar. Ok… calm down… breath in… breath out. The paxil, tequila, and anger management is not working. Kidding of course, about the anger management.
The bar has great service, good food, plenty of parking, takes credit cards, has a fun atmosphere, and most of the a-​holes are kept to a minimum. Nuff said.

My mom, my niece and I decided to check out Griffins Grill for dinner a few weeks ago after I attended a Los Al Chamber breakfast meeting there and was impressed with the food. We were promptly greeted and seated, and our drink order was taken almost immediately.
My mother, who is elderly and normally doesn’t have much of an appetite, ordered the fish tacos and literally scarfed down all three of them! My niece ordered the Buffalo Chicken Salad and declared that it was delicious, I ordered the French Dip sandwich with a side of onion rings for myself and everything was hot and very tasty. The meat on the sandwich was thinly sliced and tender.
Our server was friendly and very attentive and responded quickly to our requests. Overall, it was a great experience and we will definitely be back!

Good place, good food, good food… So why only two stars? I know it’s a neighbor restaurant but to many kids running around all over the place. Feels like Chuck-​E-​Cheese in here.

Good food. Nice remodel job since that dump Pikes closed. Smart to keep some of Mr. B’s servers… however the service here has a long way to go. Sad to see the manager talking and joking with staff while customers are ignored and orders are forgotten. I have seen many people get up and leave because of the poor service.
Food alone will not keep you open, better clean up the lazy servers take care of the customer.

Great place to meet up after work with coworkers for a drink or have dinner with the family. This place is versatile and doesn’t disappoint. Traci is an amazing server and we have been loyal customers because of her. On thurs night they have karaōke and it is very entertaining. We also checked it out on a Sat night and they had a live band. The cover band was really good and played a good mix of songs. The food and alcohol have definitely upgraded from the old Mr B’s but is has that same cozy neighborhood joint feel. The manager is still walking around greeting guests asking for suggestions and making sure everyone is doing well. I really love that they are trying. I almost forgot to review the food. Things we have tried… lemon pepper wings (multiple times), nachos, bbq bacon grilled cheese, BLT, Cobb salad, chicken Parm and other misc apps (fries, mozzarella sticks, chips/​salsa). Everything has been delicious thus far. I will say they make their own chips and they are really good!

My woman and I were in the neighborhood and decided to give this place a try. First impressions was it looked like a «cleaned up Mr. B’s». There were about 6 people at the bar and maybe 4 – 5 couples at the tables and booths having lunch. We took a seat at the bar and waited, and waited, and waited, still not even a nod by the bartender, and waited. After 5 minutes I grabbed my girl and said, «C’mon, obviously they don’t want to serve us here. I think there is a place called the „Fish Company“ right across the street». We went over there and had drinks and a delicious lunch. Sorry Griffins Grill. I should have read your reviews prior to coming in. Won’t be back.

I had been wanting to give this place a try, local joint and all. Well, it doesn’t appear they know how to run a restaurant. We were the only customers outside of the bar on a Friday afternoon. My gf and i opted to sit in a booth so i could see the multiple tvs. Took a little while to get our drinks ordered, but they came out pretty quick, and we ordered some wings. From my booth, in an completely empty restaurant, i could see the kitchen, and observed who I would assume was the manager wandering around. Well, being i could see the kitchen, i was excited to see my wings appear on the counter, ready to be served. And there they sat. For close to 10 minutes, while this manager wandered back and forth from the kitchen to the hostess.
Finally i start waiving my arms in the air, trying to get the managers attention, an employee the manager was talking to came over, i told this employee to cancel my order and bring me my check for the two beers.
A minute or so later our waitress grabbed our wings and started to bring them over, the manager waived her off, and pointed to the kitchen, and she returned the plate to the kitchen. Now you would naturally assume the manage to come over, check on a couple unhappy customers. Nope. I could see him, this whole time, he never looked our way.
Owners: you have a great spot, inside is very nice, but you really need to find someone who can run your restaurant, from reading other reviews, i am not the only one who feels this way.

Been here 3 times now. I really, really wanted this place to be good. Unfortunately, it is not! Horrible, slow service and nothing that we have tried on the menu is good except for the pizza. I hope they can turn it around!

I never review but wow this food is not good. Worse than chucke cheese. I feel bad to review but I mean you have to serve better food than that. Comes out cold
Great servers though

First time here… Normally it’s «On the Rocks» this place is cool. I wanted to sit at the bar but it was full. Then I noticed there were 2 waitresses taking up 3 bar stools cus they were entertaining a local dude. C’mon man. Go wipe a table down or something.”, but get up out my seat!!! It’s all good. Place was clean. Happy hour $ 2 off appetizers. Wow!!! Not a big deal. Rocks HH is way better. Drinks are good. A lot of TV’s, service was really good. I’d come back… Hold up wait a minute, let me put some… I’ve been here 2 hours. Ordered 4 vodka/​soda talls. I got 2 tonics 2 sodas. I called baby Jesus to help me… Services was still great. Not their fault. Unless they ordered it wrong!!! No worries. Still coming back. Maybe! 4 to 3 stars for making it hard for me.

Delicious food, fun family lunch, love all the tv’s great service, bar tender Karen and server Alonda were on point and wonderful … Thank you ladies for making our lunchtime fun… Burgers here are delicious well seasoned and cooked to perfection… Kids meals are well priced and yummy my kids loved their sundaes too… Bobby the manager stopped by our table to check on us… High fived our ironman (my 3 year old son) made him feel like a big boy … We will be back very soon… Even though we don’t live nearby

Mediocre food at best, horrible service.
Ordered two drinks with lemon, one light beer and a soda for the kid. The sniffling, nose running waitress brings two drinks with a glass of sweet & sour, explaining that they don’t have lemon-​aid – what?, a non light beer and 2 sodas. Really ?? I don’t blame the waitress. It’s poor management.

Griffins Grill is new in Los Alamitos. My first impressions of Griffins is that the food is very good. The new owner has done a great job remodeling the old Mr. B’s venue into a local eatery that looks great!
The pricing seems fair for what you receive. I have been there about 8 times since the opening. On the down side I hope that the owner is careful not to fall into the same trap that the Pikes owner fell into. It was common knowledge that Pikes did not want the Mr. B’s crowd in the facility. Well we all know how that worked out for Pikes!
I want to make sure that if you visit Griffins Grill that you go not make the same mistake that I have made. One of the waiters names «John» has made my list of the worst waiter in the Los Alamitos area. He does not attend to his customers, seems to spend time with his friends in the corner talking while his customers wonder why they are not being served. PLEASE NOTE «There is more than one John working at Griffins» The John that provides the poor service is young and wears his hair short. The other John is a former Mr. B’s bartender, the former Mr. B’s Bartender (in his 60’s) is fantastic and Griffins is lucky to have him.
What is most alarming is that the person that I believe to be a manage or supervisor is on the floor of Griffins and does not see or care what is happening to his customers because of the poor John waiter. It is so easy to see the lack of service provided by the poor waiter «John». What good is a manager that does not manage?
Note to Griffins owner, food alone will not keep customers coming back. Once they feel slighted they will be off to the many other local eateries that provide good food and good service. Don’t get me wrong, I want Griffins to succeed but if I am to spend my hard earned money there you better pick it up in the service area. Here are my ratings for comparison: (1 to 10 — Ten being Best)
Mr, B’s — Food = 5, Service = 10
Pikes — Food = 2, Service = 1
Griffin’s Grill — Food = 8, Service = 4

My fiancé and I were so upset when they closed down Mr. B’s a while back — it was our favorite place to catch a game and share a pitcher.
Griffin’s is pretty much Mr. B’s with a face lift and I couldn’t be happier about it! It was pretty crowded on a Monday night for having just opened, but the service was quick and we didn’t wait long for our food and drinks. The food is the standard pub fair, but there are some tasty options I can’t wait to explore. We split the nachos and the sampler platter and both were exactly what you’d want while watching football. We didn’t get the pizza, but that’ll be next because it looked so good on everyone else’s tables!
You can tell they just opened from a few server errors, but that’s something to expect when opening a new restaurant. I imagine those will smooth out in time. Side note: Food runners should probably NOT stick their nose close to your dressing and take a big whiff to figure out if it’s Blue cheese or ranch. Come on kid…
Overall, we’re so excited to have this place back in the neighborhood and plan on making it part of our regular game day rotation!

Great food. Great service. Great selection of drinks. Very smooth opening. Feels like they’ve been open much longer than 2 weeks.
Manager found my moms wallet and delivered it to us after he was off work. Amazing. Will be coming back.

Last week I went to catch the laker game and a few drinks with my BF & I loved it! We sat at the bar Natalie was our bartender she was amazing! The drinks were delicious and on point!
We ordered tacos & the potato skins. It was pretty good…
We had a good time. Def. will be back!

I changed my 2 star review (down below) to a 4 star review because my second experience at Griffin’s was MUCH better. First of all, the management at Griffins is fantastic. After my first review, the owner Matt was very concerned and messaged me privately to discuss my experience. He invited my husband and I to come back again and give them another chance. We went back for dinner and our meal was not only delicious, but we were greeted and given 5-​star treatment from manager, Dustin. Later on in the evening, the owner Matt came by himself to make sure that everything was excellent and then he comped our meal just for giving Griffins a second chance. We were blown away by how above and beyond the management and ownership went! We will DEFINITELY come back to Griffins!

My husband, brother, and myself have heard good things about this place so we decided to try it out for dinner.
First thing, I want to start it out on a positive note. Our server was a very, very sweet girl. She was pretty awesome.
Besides that, everything else was… not good, to be polite.
I ordered the chicken club sandwich and sweet potato fries. My sandwich was OK (not work $ 11, to be honest.) The sweet potato fries were awful, they weren’t cooked at all. Also, when I was taking my last bite of the chicken sandwich, I bit into something hard and it was a chicken bone. ICK.
My brother ordered the salmon. He too said it was OK, definitely not nearly worth the $ 17 price tag.
Lastly, my husband ordered the Hawaiian pizza. The pizza did not come out until 35 minutes AFTER my brother and I had not only gotten our food, but eaten it! When we asked our server what was taking so long after waiting 15 minutes, she informed us that they were JUST STARTING to MAKE IT! What the?! Our server was very apologetic but my poor husband had to sit there and watch us eat for over 30 minutes.
Needless to say, if it’s not for beers and game night, we probably won’t return.

Took my brother to lunch suggesting we try this place since it was new… my bro got an over priced burger, nothjng special about it. No burger should cost more then $ 12. Especially that size. I ordered the pastrami pizza. The female server, whos name started with an P asked if i wanted fries with that. I said fries come with pizza, she hesitated and said oh my bad i thought you wanted the sandwich. I said you have a pastrami sandwich, she said no. OMG! Cluless and doesnt even know her own menu.
After all that, the pizza was thick and doughy. Tasted like that pre made dough you buy at the grocery store. The pizza sauce obviously isnt home made as well. Guarantee you its from a can. My suggestion is when you make a pastrami pizza, you have to lay off the red sauce.
now after saying all this im glad there is a new local place to eat at, but quality has got to get better. Fresher is better, and home made is best. Not saying i wont go back. I will go back, but those are items i will not get. Maybe just grab a beer at bar instead.

We are faithful foodies… kids are grown no our sports with them is over but love the name… I already know people who have gone and some of the reviews worry me… great food is a must! Pay attention to it and be proud of what you serve and makes sure its consistent in every aspect. I hope we don’t see reviews with five stars from real Non-​Yelp reviewers. For those who complained about silly things please its a newly opened restaurant…
If Griffin Grill is too survive food and service must be ***** five stars! Your neighbors will be loyal and come for food not just sports and beer! I love how the owner has been posting to our community… that in itself is awesome and shows he cares! I hope all of the servers have that same pride and dedication.

Went here with my girlfriend last night after she had got off work. We had been there once before when it was the Pike, and we were pretty excited to see the new changes. We loved the look of the new place. As a sports fan, I appreciated that they had a ton of TVs with basketball and football on them.
The food was sort of MEH though. We had the mac and cheese appetizer with crushed gold fish on the top, and it literally just tasted like someone took a big block of velveeta cheese and melted it over pene pasta and crushed gold fish on it. Maybe using something besides a big block of cheese, like a mixture of cheese and making the recipe their own would be really good.
We ordered the buffalo chicken salad with the fat kat pizza. The salad was nothing to write home about, and just about what we expected (which was OK), but the Fat Kat pizza we got was amazing. The dough was very good, and the pizza very flavorful,
She ordered a mix drink which she liked (she’s also a bartender) and I had a Corona. Our check overall was $ 60 which seems reasonable for the amount of food we got, even if we didn’t think it was all great.
We’d go there again to drink for sure, and would probably give their sandwiches a try (I saw some servers carry some of them by and they look delicious). You also can’t go wrong with their pizza.
Almost forgot, our server was very nice. She was funny and joked around, and kept the mood light. Drinks were a little slow, especially the second beer I ordered (took 10 minutes), but I don’t blame her.

This place is a great gem for Los Al. The restaurant is themed after the high school and has a Griffins Hall of Fame with lots of cool memorabilia.
The food is great and they had so many different options than a typical burger/​pizza joint… Salmon, rib eye, and really good fish tacos. The desert we had was their baked cookie which was like a pazooki but even better!
Prices were very reasonable and it was packed the past nights I’ve been. Worth checking out!
