This is one of those places that I want to like due to their location. I moved into the area 3 years ago, and was pleased to see a Sizzler was so close. In the past three years I’ve been to this location twice, neither of which has been pleasant. The last time I was here was a few weeks ago, I ordered a steak(medium-rare), and lobster. The steak came out over cooked, by touch it was hard, and when cut into there was no red, so I sent it back. The second steak came out raw, it looked like it was only seared on both sides for a few seconds, by touch it felt spongey. I asked for a refund at this point. The manager came over to tell me that they cook their steaks to look like the picture in the kitchen. I told the manager then that’s the problem you can’t cook by a photo, it best done by touch or temp, that is if they have a chef who knows what they are doing. The manager reimbursed me for the steak portion of the dinner($ 3 reimbursed for a $ 20 steak and lobster plate). I used to work as a steak chef, so I know cooking a steak by touch or temp isn’t that difficult, and medium-rare is a easy task. Needless to say, I am done going to this Sizzler location.

We come here about 3 to 4 times a month and for years now and have never had any complaints. In fact the waitresses are all friendly and great and the food is always fresh, clean… no complaints. BUT what happened the other day has now gotten me to write this review:(My husband ordered a rib eye which by the way since their prices have gone up quite a bit is not cheap! When it arrived at the table he looked at the waitress and asked her if that was a rib eye steak because it doesn’t look like it. She agreed and told us she thought the same thing before bringing it out and asked the chef what it was and he said Yes it’s a rib eye. So she left it but we’re all still examining this steak and we told my husband have her bring it back and double check because we’re paying for a rib eye and you should get a rib eye. Maybe it was mixed up with another order. The waitress comes back and happily brings it to the back to show the chef again. Now she comes back and tells us the Chef says they ran out of rib eye! The waitress was pissed off and so were they other ones because he tried to cover it up and lie about the steaks instead of just saying they ran out in the first place!!! We ended up just getting a New York steak and the waitress gave us the difference back. Come on Chef… this customer happened to work in a restaurant before and knows their steaks!!! Mr. Manager please talk to your chef or better yet replace him!!!

I stopped by for lunch with my dad and felt like I stepped into a 70’s time machine. The menu on the wall looked the same except for the prices. We sat down at our dimly lit table(from the 70s?) as we waited for our food to arrive. The pork rib special that I ordered looked a bit strange. They looked like a bunch of small carved up bones with lots of bbq sauce slathered all over them. It was hard to eat them without getting bits and pieces of bone in your mouth while chewing… ugh. I’ll go here again for my dad who is 85. He likes it, and there seems to be lots of other people his age enjoying this restaurant.

Received a coupon for $ 5 off for my 60th birthday. The 1st person at the register didn’t know what to do with a birthday coupon. The 2nd, more experienced person told me when I ordered off the senior menu for the 1st time, that I couldn’t use the coupon and had to order from the more expensive menu. This, even though I pointed out that the coupon(in tiny print) listed the menus I couldn’t order from and the senior menu wasn’t one of them. I left without ordering. Guess I should have remembered the old adage that«if it seems to good to be true — it probably is» or perhaps the bait and switch scenerio is more appropriate

I like this place and I think the food is good along with the people who work here making me feel like they care. I think this place is well run and has a good family feel to it when you sit down to eat. Like I said the food is good their salad bar is always being taken care of when I go and the place is nice & clean. I go once a month normally sometime more.

This Sizzler(I cannot speak for others) is always good. I like a restaurant to be consistent! Their staff has ALWAYS been friendly, ESPECIALLY Beverly:) Their food is fresh and not discolored, they have never been out of anything(that I have asked for), they top off drinks in a timely manner(even water), and they have good kids prices. Salad bar, taco bar, dessert(ice cream) bar. Honestly, I do not like the TV’s, they are quiet enough, I just do not go out to eat to watch television.

Went to Sizzler to have a birthday lunch. After paying my daughter-in-law says she has a $ 5.00 off on her email on her phone for her birthday. The manager comes to her and says it needs to be printed for a bar code. There was no bar code. I wish the owner was there she would have honored it. $ 5.00 really? Felipe Machucaso so called manager? As a manager your customer service was awful. We love that Sizzler but that day was supposed to be a happy day they get one star because of their so called manager.

Was here with family last night. Pretty quite, place was clean. Fair price, spent $ 84.50 plus $ 10 tip. All food we ordered were good except my steak was cooked very well done instead of medium as I ordered. The server was nice to replaced it. Tip: If you don’t like salt in steak, tell server beforehand. The cook tend to pour a lot of it and makes all our steaks very salty, but the kids did not mind.

Recently, while in Phoenix we visited Sizzler. First time in years. Not fond of the Buena Park location. Needed revamp last time we were there. And we never thought about the Los Al location until Siri reminded us that it was our nearest location. As another reviewer said, in years past Sizzler was the in place for families to eat. Everyone gets what they want — meat, fish, salad. Nice spread of choices reasonably priced. We took our kids often. Last night we walked in during the pre-dinner rush. The place was clean. No line yet. After we were seated the rush began to fill booths and tables. This must be a local favorite for gramps, paps, kids. Salad bar very appetizing. Next time I’ll get that, but last night I wanted salmon. I’d ordered from the senior menu in Phoenix(11.99). Not on the senior menu in Los Al(14.99). Soft serve ice cream station — well stocked and maintained. Sometimes by the end of the day these stations look weary and beaten down by traffic. Not so here. Everything looked freshly stocked, within easy reach. Complimentary bread. In Phoenix they served dinner rolls. Los Al served their famous cheese toast — a tasty, crunchy wave of nostalgia. Service. Meh. My husband ordered strawberry lemonade. They asked him twice what he wanted to drink and got limeade. I ordered coffee and never got a refill. Food. Hubby ordered ribeye steak. He wanted prime rib, but they don’t serve that anymore. Tho’ it was a tad stringy and fatty, he enjoyed his medium-rare steak. I ordered grilled salmon with baked potato without butter. Unfortunately I had to scoop a large dollop of butter out of my potato. We’ll definitely go again. We’ll just be a tad more explicit when ordering.

All locations are different mostly based on my primarily relevant to a customer experience. I wrote a review & signed up for their notifications, and get on average 5 – 7 free meals a year on Sizzler. So, this one is a franchise like this one , which I find are better in all components because the owners in part, have an investment in this business, so they go that extra mile to make you a happy customer, and they did! This time I received(as I always do now) a coupon via email for a free Malibu Chicken meal. So, I brought my printed coupon here, the manager very courteously honored it, and Marty ordered the Pork tenderloins of Beef. BOTH of our orders came with French Fries, and BOTH orders were quite tasty after a little doctoring up with salt, pepper & some hot sauce. Also, I opted to go to the salad bar & abscond a mini fried flour tortilla full of very well prepared guacamole, 4 chicken wings and, a large portion of onion rings-now we have a complete meal. I must say even though I’m a fan, I found what I received for free & what Marty ordered lacking in portion size, so I semi-supersized it up! Marty found his Pork Tenderloins a little chewy but edible, and my Malibu Chicken was a little Assisted Living-Like in flavor, which is perhaps why we saw many senior citizens there in masses. Hey, don’t laugh, you will be there one day too as I when your taste buds start to not care about or recognize flavors! Yet, with the additions I described earlier, everything in the mix was palatable. The restaurant was clean, staff was pleasant, efficient and kept on top of things. Look, like most say, «It’s Sizzler, what do you expect.?» Yet I remember in the sixties, Sizzler was where we ate often at the Downey location, and for a family off 5,(BOTH parents working & twice a month just not into cooking) you couldn’t beat the price and the food was always good. Now will we be back? Sure, maybe if I get another coupon, but for now, I’ll just leave it at this:

The waitresses are always nice and that’s why I come back. I do have a gripe tho. Their chicken wings at the salad bar are ALWAYS overcooked and burnt. They need to give the cooks some lessons on how to cook wings. Air conditioning can be a little intense. I usually sit on the south side of the building to avoid it.

The only Sizzler I’m comfortable going to. Good quality and the restaurant is VERY clean. Employees and owner are the nicest people! My favorite is the salad bar as they have a great selection and the food is fresh. Today we had the tri-tip with the shrimp.

No joke I LOVE this place so much to the point where I still come here every year for my birthday. The salad bar is amazing. This is literally the ONLY Sizzler in my area that still serves corn nuggets. Think of a chicken nugget but instead of chicken inside it is creamed corn goodness. That alone warrants my 5 star rating. Their salad bar serves soup, build your own tacos and spaghetti and even has a dessert station. It’s basically a mini buffet which is perfect if you are like me and just can’t decide what to eat for dinner. You can have a little bit of everything! Garlic cheese bread is always on your table before you even have to ask. It is also endless. You come here knowing what to expect in quality of food. This isn’t a fancy steak place so I wouldn’t order that if its what you’re expecting.

Great for lunch and dinner! A huge selection now, reasonable prices. If you just want a good fast steak and you want it now, this is the place. It’s not a place where you would take your wife or GF on their birthday or release from county jail. Go there if you want a good decent steak and you don’t care about a fancy atmosphere, valet parking, and waiting. Sometimes, I just want a steak NOW and don’t feel like cooking. This is the place!

Alot cleaner than home town buffet. The food was good and hot. The service was okay… they could be more warmer with smiles on their face but they were rather decent. My wife and our daughter enjoyed their meal. We will back!

My baby likes Sizzler, so who am I to deprive a man of his hunger? It was a good dinner tonight, service was good, place was clean, abundance of food, tasty food. He got Hibachi Chicken and I got a 60z steak cooked medium rare. He enjoyed his food… me — the steak was just okay, wasn’t the best cut of meat and it wasn’t all that flavorable. They had pumpkin soup with spice. Don’t get it, lol Lemme s’plain Lucy. …If it was creamier and a little sweeter it would be good but no. What? It was a good dinner for him and I enjoyed his company — we have great conversation. The salad was good ooh and the dessert was good too, they had ambrosia salad. Service was excellent though, kudos to Joanna!(applause)

Sizzler brings back childhood memories as I remember going to Sizzler with my family and falling in a very long line that sometimes hit the back door. These days are long gone, as are the long lines. Fast forward 20 years and sometimes the line will be 3 people deep. The food is the same as I remember, nothing special. It only reminds me of my youth, expect I am the one paying the bill. The salad bar has a lot of choices but is nothing more than average. For $ 4.99 an add on I know I cant expect much. The service is good. Refills and cheese bread arrived quickly and our salad plates were always cleared. A plate of mints were presented at the end and in return we placed our tip on the plate and walked away full.
