It seems this branch keeps changing management… And you would expect this would correct some of their service issues but today was the worst… the two ladies taking our order hardly spoke English(Nothing against my dear Asian friends), but after several attempts to order our food it seems they got it but when we got our order, one dish was missing. I had to find the manager, another lady from the Far East that apparently understood my dilemma but I was wrong … I had to go 3 times to the service area and ask for my food … Now, kudos to the cooks for putting up with these 3 ladies and still do their job right.

This was one of my favorite places for breakfast and coffee but I think management must have changed. The last few times I’ve been here I have received either poor service or my food is cold by the time I get it. I do still enjoy the coffee!

The only thing this place has going for it is the ambience. Yesterday was my second time visiting this place and I was hoping they would redeem themselves. I ordered a salad and soup. My boyfriend ordered a salmon dish. First of all, the guy tossed my salad in a dirty bowl… Ew. Then if that wasn’t bad enough I found hair in my soup!!! Worst part is I had eaten some of it. I know it wasn’t my hair seeing as I’m blonde and the hair was clearly black. Speaking of the soup, it was so bland I’m willing to bet that it’s a box mix. Now onto my boyfriends dish. The salmon was not seasoned at all and the broccoli was steamed and thrown onto the plate. No flavor a whatsoever. Overall, our experience was so bad we left the food half eaten and went to eat somewhere else. Two words for this place: epic fail.

One star because food tasted good… but my experience was horrible. 1. Restaurant unprepared for holiday rush 2. Staff repeatedly told me they were out of potato galeete and breakfast food. 3. Manager repeatedly told me that breakfast wasn’t sold after 1pm, until I showed him the menu says breakfast«Any time of day». 4. Waited 40 mins for potato galeete to cook 5. Staff tried to bring rest of order without potato galeete 6.Once food came, everything was cold, so I had to bring food back twice to reheat or cook fresh. 7. Food was quite tasty, I ordered Country Breakfast with a side of mash potatoes. 8. Horrible experience at this location will not go back.

I love love this place! The food is so good! The tomato soup is a fav of mine! And the bakery items are so yummy! I usually have to place an order to go. because only me and my 16 yo son eat here! Lol! When u do get to dine in it’s cool! I love the house feel of it and like you are in a bistro in France!

Go to any other location. I give up on this one. Fruit salad always mushy– either frozen or old. Coffee either terrible, cold or nonexistent. Lemons for tea very old and smelly. Floors dirty. Tables dirty. Not five customers in the place but instead of catching up on cleaning, the staff talks to each other or disappears. When trying to order, you have to ask for their attention. Eggs not throughly cooked and many things over salted. Keep driving to any of their other locations. You will probably love it.

If you have never tried the tomato basil soup then stop reading this and go right now. Or the Cesar salad. Or the french dip. Or chicken salad on croissant… mmmm… Great place to relax by the window and read a book

There are flies inside the pastry display fridges, and this location has extremely dirty floors. I do not recommend this place, at all! My next stop will be at Panera.

Very delicious food, just very heavy. I’m not sure if there’s a lot of butter in the foods, but it feels more of a «once in a while» type of restaurant than somewhere you’d go regularly. I haven’t fallen in love with any of the items on the menu, but the bakery is cool.

Just had breakfast for the first time at this location. I ordered Parisian eggs Benedict. The wait time was pretty long, I had to check on my food before they brought it to me. It came barely warm, I assume it was sitting too long before they brought it to my table. The presentation of the dish was sorry looking(and I’ve had eggs Benedict at other locations, which looked great), the croissant was flat, ham and bacon looked like they were dropped there in a hurry. Ham turned out to be slightly spoiled, it had the taste of rag that has been damp for several days and started smelling. After couple of bites I just removed it from the croissant. Eggs were not cooked properly, they were too raw, including the raw egg white. I am so disappointed in this La Madeleine. I was disgusted by their eggs Benedict and I think I lost desire to eat it for quite a while.

It’s a work in progress for me. Didn’t have much to want here in the past but as we all experience different levels of culinary maturity one can grow to like things. Not that they had bad food before but just couldn’t find something that hit me like boom, that’s what I’m craving. Not sure why I’m wasting my time reviewing fast food but I guess it’s because I kind of found something i like there for a change and may return soon! Honestly if it weren’t for all the great community photos on Unilocal i probably would’ve convinced my wife once again to go to another, better place. But I was Unilocaling and the beef bourguignon looked like ‘my craving’ so cred to whoever’s pic that was! And it was pretty good, but felt quite overpriced for the taste and size. The beef was overcooked and of mediocre quality, the dish was overly salty in general, and the shrooms reminded me of a school cafeteria sadly, possibly just overcooked. Size was awkward, good if you’re starving but not quite big enough if you are splitting it with a friend, but you can’t really take it to go because it will go bad on you unless you get it in the fridge fast. The bourguignon could be a bit smaller and should be 10 $ or less. However, the taste was there in a lot of key places that made it quite satisfying, like the red wine demi glaze which smelled and tasted great, and the thyme was plentiful. Didn’t have any browning of the onions which, along with the carrots, seemed undercooked. But still pretty strong flavours and quite enjoyable to me, especially on a bed of garlic mashed potatoes, which I believe was the salty part thus probably instant. But what can you expect from a fast food chain like this? Guess that’s about right. My wife had the pick 3 and got that bacon strawberry spinach salad, mushroom soup and the strawberries Romanov, which is the exact thing I almost ordered expect I would’ve done the tomato basil soup, but why waste a chance to try something different. I did taste her things and they were average, but the strawberries Romanov was awesome, obviously. Didn’t mind having some breads and jams for an appetiser either! And yes it does seem slightly chaotic but that’s only if you don’t go there often. Just decide what you want from the menu and tell the person at the opposite end of the cashier’s port and they get it for you. The glass is obviously to display food to tempt you and show you what they have available at that moment, and you can just choose from there aka luby’s style, if you want to go a la carte. I LOVE breakfast any time of day, that’s what I will get next time I’m sure! For me the difference between 3 and 2 stars is if I plan on coming back but still not satisfied. So 3 since I’ll likely return(because of my wife); and that’s true progress!

La Madeleine is always usually a safe consistent bet for good food. Unfortunately, this was one of the worst experiences I’ve had at La Madeleine. I go in and there’s no line except for a lady in front of me. We both order the chicken caesar salad and were told they are out of chicken and it will take sometime to be out(15 minutes). I got a soup and checked out(paying for the salad as well) and took my number. I ate the soup and complimentary bread and sat there for half an hour. Finally I just got fed up after seeing customers after me sit down with their salads(filled with chicken). I went up and asked for a refund. At least they were nice to refund me, but I still would’ve liked what I ordered…

Service is not good. Out of mushroom soup, our cards declined because the cashier couldn’t run the register and had to call the manager. Seriously, two declined cards and when we tried to pay CASH the cashier couldn’t get into the register. Manager called, and BINGO. our cards were just fine. who’da figgered? No clean tables, except for some unsteady two tops. I wondered I’d we touched the table if it would skitter across the floor and out the window. We tried to eat without too much pressure on the table… hard to cut your food that way… Got the La Madeline chicken. disgusting… texture of a chicken McNugget. Broccoli was too tough to chew, and the wild rice was gummy. The potato soup was runny and bland. no potato??? Husband’s quiche was okay, at least he ate it. he got his tomato basil, so hot he had to wait a bit to, eat it. No brown bread and the bread station is right across from the serving line. This staff seems clueless. I left hungry . Edited to add: I left my tray, with the YUCK note on it(see photo) behind the cashier, where it was ignored for about 5 minutes. Then, it was cleared away. I asked, finally if there was a manager. No one had mentioned to him that a customer was not happy. We FINALLY got a refund for the food I would not feed my dog. Manager needs to tell his staff to get a clue. He needs one, too.

GREATFOOD!!! HORRIBLESERVICE!!! it is what it is, you go here to this location for the pure desire of the food but don’t expect to get good or even decent customer service especially if you complain about something. For some reason they are always busy doing anything other than serving the customer here. My wife loves the Madeline but unfortunately We have only this location in katy.

Charming place to eat on a cold morning. Food is good and fair priced. I enjoy their breakfast items there. Eggs Benedict is good. If you like a lot of sauce you probably may want to ask for more as they do not drown the dish with it. I have enjoyed most items I have ordered. They usually bring the food to your table if it’s not already prepared behind the glass when you order. After that you can help yourself to refills on coffee, soda, and tea. They also have wheat and white bread you can serve yourself with. What I like most about this place is when it’s cold out and they have the fireplace going. It feels like your in a chalet in a mountain village or something. It looks like something out of Beauty and the Beast! Overall I give it 4 stars for food, ambiance and price. I enjoy eating here once a week for breakfast so it deserves more than 3 stars!!!

This was my first time at this location with my friend for breakfast. I wanted to have coffee while I was waiting for my friend and they were out of the 2 out of 3 coffees available. It took 3 customers and 15 minutes for the employees to coordinate for fresh coffee. My french breakfast plate was missing my potato gaselle(I think that’s what’s it called). The food tasted fresh and made to order. My over medium egg was cooked perfectly. The sausage tasted like Jimmy Deans which is a plus. My croissant was fresh and airy. I would have probably given a 4 star if my potato gaselle and coffee was available sooner. My friend enjoyed her cheesy quiche as well as her fresh fruit(she said she would give her food 4 stars).

It’s a nice French style place. I like the idea of it. French food but casual. It’s a Texas sized version of La Boulange here in the Bay Area(lots and lots of seating). They even have free self-serve bread! However, the bakery items and such are definitely not on par with La Boulange. I did not try any of the actual food since it was between breakfast and lunch. The mini chocolate croissant, the free bread, jams and the coffee were all a tier or two lower. Still, I could see this being a nice place to hang out and order French style food.

I love La Madeleine. I’ve never had a bad experience at any of their restaurants. I was actually surprised to find a LM in this random location though. Either way, I’m glad it is so close to my parents’ house. My husband and I went for lunch this past Sunday. We went around 11:00 and there was a very short line in front of us. Not a long wait at all, the lady who took our order was nice and efficient. I ordered the combo meal with a cup of tomato basil soup and half a chicken salad croissant meal. It came with a side and I chose chips. Could have gotten something healthier for my side to off-set the rest of my meal, but I love their salt and pepper chips. My croissant was good enough. Didn’t rock my world, but it was good. I’d get it again. Their tomato basil soup is my favorite soup from a restaurant. It is so, so, sooooo good. My husband got a chicken dish with mushrooms on it. Possibly called La Madeline chicken. With it he got a potato gallete and a side Cesar salad. He said that it was all very good. The atmosphere at all the LM’s I’ve ever been to has been relaxing, cozy, and clean, this one included. I particularly like going when it is cold outside and they have a fire going. Now I’m not sure if the inside of a LM is comparable to what a quaint Parisian restaurant feels like, but I love the unique atmosphere of these restaurants compared to other restaurants. I think I need to go to Paris to find out… The one thing I will say about our experience is that they definitely needed to get on the ball with clearing tables. There were waaaaay too many tables covered in plates and trash. Also, please, please, please bring back your chicken florentine soup, La Madeline!!!
