Very good chicken, super fresh. Fried pickles were thin and crispy but also extremely salty. The waffle was alright but not the best we had. Nice and cozy place I definitely recommend it and I will go again.

I have passed this place a couple of times and finally decided to try it. I had the 3×3 which is 3 tenders and 3 wings. The wings were mango haberno and the dipping sauces which you get two were cayenne ranch and honey mustard. The wings were okay a little overcooked and the tenders were good, put you in the mind of cane’s. I had fries as my side which were greasy and I tried the jar Reese’s cheesecake which was delicious. My total came out to a little over 15 $. I probably won’t be back since it was nothing outstanding about it. The sauces were okay but it wasn’t anything I haven’t tried before. The highlight was the cheesecake which I don’t need anyway lol. Overall to pricey for the food and the quality.

I’ve been here three times now and feel that I can give a fair review at this point. Each time I’ve gone in I’ve been greeted with a smile and friendly service. It has also been kept up and cleaned every time I’m there as well. They have a lot of great options ranging from tenders to salads to sandwiches to wraps and wings. I little bit of something for everyone, including grilled chicken. There is also a wide variety of sauces for whatever you’re feeling. The food comes in good sized portions and is always fresh and has good flavor. The chicken is thick and juicy, but never overly saturated in grease. A nice new place to go to for some good chicken.

Their, «Roots run deep in the delta where the food is honest, meals are social, and the door is always open,» –quote painted on one of the main walls. This place have a very fun atmosphere, it looks and feels like you are in a chicken coop with the balanced blend of rustic and modern décor. The service is great, constantly cleaning and roaming the area for trash and to offer their services. The food came out quite fast and was hot and pretty good. I am a hard core Texas toast fan, and to me the toast tasted like garlic bread, which I wasn’t really about. The chicken tenders were ok at best, a little chewy and lacking flavor. I was very happy with both the Crispyness of the fries and the sweetness of the slim sauce, although it was a little thick for my liking. Overall the food was cheap, and I probably would come back and maybe try something other than the chicken tenders.

We enjoyed our visit! The food was great and I enjoyed the cayenne ranch! The food was initially too hot(temp.) and we had to wait a while before actually eating.

Second time here, first time was great. I stopped tonight to pick up dinner for family. 2 chiks plate, smokey cheddar wrap, and regular wrap. When I ordered, I asked for the wraps to be grilled chicken and dressing on side. Low and behold, I get home with the to go order and only one wrap is grilled and they forgot dressing on both wraps. Chiks plate were fine except the fries were terrible, they were just not good. I don’t know it it was from being boxed up or what? Overall spent $ 38 on dinner for family, and it was not good. Orders wrong and fries were bad. Beware to go orders!

My husband and I were in the area headed to a different restaurant and saw this ao we decided to give it a try. The place was very open and spacious, plus it had three large tvs so we could watch the Texans game. You order right away at the counter and are given a place card for your table with a numbet on it. The selection of drinks and teas were impressive. We came in at 3 on a Saturday and it was quite crowded. we both ordered the 3 by 3, but with different flavors. We did not have a chance to look over menu fully to order so we just took a shot in the dark. Here’s my food review: tenders– lightly breaded, well seasoned, piping hot. loved them. better than pdq, for sure. wings — on the smaller side, was ok. mac and cheese — free substitution instead of fries, nice and cheesy. loved them. bread/toast — heavily buttered and seasoned, crisp. was good sauces: bbq — tangy with a sweet aftertaste ranch — typical ranch gravy — white, good, but wouldve been better if it was hot. sweet and sour — typical american style sweet and sour, with a spicy kick mango habenero — sweeter than spicy, heat builds up after three wings, but doesnt have the same kick like b dub wing sauce or even Black Walnuts sauce. would recommend the place overall. tenders over wings, though.

I was blown away by the good reviews! I came, ordered 3&3 in the drive through with a side of pickles. It comes with a drink. Soo I’m gonna get to the point.(They also forgot my drink) and you’ll have a to wait a while in drive through. Honey bbq wings are a tad sweet-normal for that flavor anyway! 1) FRIEDPICKLESARESALTY!!! 2) the chicken tenders are NOT superior to raising canes Chick fila has their own type of breading for their chicken, I don’t think slim chicken is superior. However the honey Dijon compliments it well. Cayenne ranch dressing was delightfully similarly to ranch flavor and not spicy* I want to wrap up this review with the Salty fried pickles, and drowning it in sauce will help. Enjoy!

I was in the area yesterday so I decided to stop in and try them out. I had read numerous review but I like to reserve judgement for myself. You walk up and order at the counter and you are given a number and your order is delivered to your table. I had the 3&3 plate which comes with 3 tenders and 3 wings. They were very tasty to me. They came with 2 dipping sauces which were blue cheese for me. The wings and tenders were pretty meaty and were cooked to my satisfaction. You had a lot of drink choices with several types of teas as well as fountain drinks. I had no service issues and there were people constantly coming in while I was there @3 pm on a Saturday! It looked like there were going to be no where to sit when I left as the line approached the door. I will definitely go back.

I see a lot of comparisons to Chick-fil-a in reviews for this place. Is is comparable? Yes. I’d say the quality of the chicken might be a notch higher than CFA. They have a lot more sides and options than their competitor including wings, salads, a large variety of sauces, desserts, and sandwiches. Depending on the menu item you get, you can sub sides other than french fries, but you may be charged more. I got the«Chicks meal» which is just 3 tenders and was able to sub the fried pickles for free. I was told that if I got the larger meals, I would have had to pay a fee to sub in fried pickles. The fried pickles were huge and very good and the chicken strips seemed to be freshly breaded and fried. The breading is lighter than that at CFA which is a positive to me. If you dine-in, they give you a number for your table and bring your meal to you when it’s ready. That said, I can’t see myself coming here much. The chicken strips were a bit smaller than the strips from their competitor and cost a bit more for the same amount. Granted, you get 2 pieces of bread for that price, but buttered bread isn’t exactly a high quality add-on. There is a drive-thru and the line seems to get almost as long as at their competitor, so I would suggest coming here before it gets too popular and there is a line into the street.

We came here for an early lunch, and my husband and I split the 5 and 5 combo with 5 wings and 5 tenders. It comes with fries but we substituted for fried okra instead. It costs an extra $ 1.50 for the substitute but the fried okra was well worth it! Very fresh and crispy okra! The best I’ve had. The tenders were hot and fresh with very light breading. We got the slims sauce(tomato based cream sauce) and sweet and sour, which has a bit of spicy chili kick than your typical Asian sweet and sour sauce. We got teriyaki wings which were delicious! Lots of sauce and good size wings. :) Service was good too! We got our food very quickly, and the lady who brought our food asked if we wanted any other sauces beyond the 2 that came with our order!

The food was average, there wasn’t much that was special about it. We got the kid’s tenders and the three by three. The chicken tenders were hot, but flavorless unless you did dip in the sauces. That cayenne ranch was bomb and the honey mustard was sweet and good, however the slim sauce was too thick. The service was good at the register, depending on who you got: Mark A. was awesome at the register and made good recommendations for us. The other employees were fooling around and unaware of their environment. Pretty distracting for customers to place their order. One thing that really baffled our group was the fact that they lined up their chairs and made a block towards the soda machine so that none of the customers could self-serve. When you need a refill, you kind of just linger along the blockage until someone comes and refills your drink or you’re a revel and decide to climb over nchairs and get your own refill. ***confused*** It would be nice if someone acknowledged that you were entering or leaving the facility, especially for being new to the area.

Update — okay, 3rd time’s a charm! Went back tonight to try the Chicken and Waffle with sweet tea, and paid for a side of Mac and cheese(does not come with a side) and a Pumpkin Cheesecake dessert jar. Well, I have to say the Chicken and Waffle is my fave! The waffle is shaped like Texas, substantial in size and nice and fluffy, topped with 3 chicken strips, along with butter and syrup. I still say the chicken needs more spice in its batter, but it’s growing on me. Didn’t particularly like the Mac and cheese… not worth the $ 2.49 for the small cup I received and the chicken and waffle meal is enough food to fill you, so no extra side needed. The pumpkin pie dessert in a jar was a nice treat and I love the souvenir jar. I guess I know what I will be ordering from now on! Officially upgraded to 3 stars. Update — went back on 12/02/2015 and ordered the Smoky Cheddar Wrap Plate and potato salad. Wrap was to include grilled chicken tenders tossed in tangy BBQ sauce, shredded cheddar, lettuce, tomato and ranch. The wrap was a good size with ample amount of chicken, BUT last time I checked, «tangy bbq» sauce was not supposed to be so hot that my lips are on fire. So, looks like either they mistook my wrap for the buffalo wrap or their BBQ sauce has way too much heat in it! But, i was hungry and ate as much as I could. Potato salad was great… ranch based, which is my favorite. I will give them one more try. Hoping these are just little mistakes from having just opened. 11/30/2015 — Was giving this place a good couple of weeks since its brand new and was excited to try as a couple friends commented on how good it was and how they were better than 2 major fast food chains. Went through the drive thru tonight and ordered the«3&3 Plate» which is 3 chicken tenders, 3 chicken wings(I got honey BBQ flavor), fries and two dipping sauces. Employees were friendly and had about a 10 minute wait in the drive thru with 2 cars ahead of me. I live less than 5 minutes from the restaurant and my food was already cold when I got home, so that was a bummer! Chicken wings were over cooked and I expected chicken tenders to have more flavor since I’ve heard people rave about them. But on the plus side, chicken tenders were moist, but could use more flavor. Fries were cold with no seasoning. Signature«slim sauce» tastes like mixture of mayo & ketchup. I plan to give this place another try… chicken and waffles and chicken wrap looked pretty good and definitely want to try the cheesecake in a jar dessert! Maybe they will get over their«new business» hump!

Wow! Talk about customer service — the general manager contacted me regarding my review. Since the Katy location was still in training at the time of my visit, I was given incorrect info on ordering meals — you CAN just order a meal without a drink. The manager was eager for us to give them another chance(which we were going to do anyway ;)) and has invited us back for a family meal on him! Thanks Nathan! Excited that more locations will be opening soon! You will do well in Katy!

Went through the drive-through last night and it was just okay. My girlfriend had the 5 – 5 Meal with the wings and tenders, and I just had the five tender box. Honestly, didn’t really like it. The seasoning isn’t all that and the fries were all soggy. Granted we had to drive home so the Styrofoam box didn’t help the matter, but the fries were tasteless. The chicken tenders were tasteless, I mean nothing like I was expecting. :(I hate comparing places on here, but slim chicken has nothing compared to Raisin Canes. I wish it did though. Edit: the wings were no bueno. The only saving grace is the dessert in the jar, very good, hence the extra star, other than that for the exorbitant price, I’ll drive to canes in Sugarland. Sorry guys

Many at our table commented that the chicken had a flavor that was«close» to Chik-fil-a, although the breading is different. The tenders were hot, fresh and flavorful. I didn’t care for the slim sauce, but other sauces were very good. The Chicken and waffle(1 Texas shaped waffle) was a great plate and I would get it again.

Never heard of this place but thought I’d give it a try. Ordered the medium wings and boyfriend ordered the strips. Food came out fast and was super hot and fresh. The ranch was delicious, wasn’t sure if it’s house made or just regular ranch. But definitely my favorite sauce. They have tons of beer options and the desserts in a jar look delicious. Will definitely be back for more. The seating of the dinning area is a little WIERD but that’s the only thing. Also they have a drive through, will have to see how the food is through there.

I’ve been craving chicken and waffles ever since I tried them at Voodoo Queen, but hadn’t been able to find a place to fill that void in Katy. This place definitely does that! It was a little pricey for a fast-casual experience but well worth it, the chicken was delicious.

11÷13÷15 My wife and I took our kids here after a friend told us they were having a family night(which we found out was invite only, but we were allowed in anyway). This was one of a few pre-opening«training» nights. I’ve noticed the place going up near where I live and had not heard of it before. I looked them up online and it looked like it would be a pretty great place. I’ll split this up into: Food, Dining Area, Staff, Overall Experience and Pro’s and Cons. 1. Food: It was awesome. Hands down the food tasted great. The chicken tenders are fried(we had them without batter) and they are cooked as you order them, they were extremely hot so just be cautious for the kids. The dipping sauces tasted great; we had Slim Sauce, Ranch, Sweet and Sour(has a little spice to it and was awesome), and gravy. The fries were really good and had good seasoning. The toast was more like warm bread, so don’t think of it as traditional Texas Toast(good but not Whataburger good). This was a good change of pace from the quick order places we have in Katy. They also serve beer, not a bad thing to have with some«Southern Chicken». The food, being made to order took approximately 15 minutes to make it to the table from the time we left the register. 2. Dining area: It’s a big open room with some booths and tables and an outdoor patio as well. Reminded me of Chipotle as far as the seating area was concerned. There were large TV’s and some art décor on the walls. Glass windows surround the dining area so it was well lit. Overall a nice room to chow down in. It was pretty busy inside and somewhat loud. The fans were on full speed, which didn’t bother us, but it was kind of humorous because they were like airplane propellers(one of the managers was showing the staff how to set them, so it was just pre-opening trouble shooting, not a bad mark at all just funny). They also have a drive through(don’t think it was open at the time of this review). 3. Staff: The poor owner looked nervous, he shouldn’t have been as the food was great and people were having a good time. But if I were opening a new place I can’t say I wouldn’t be nervous, chill bro it was great! The staff was really friendly but I am going to ding them for the guy named Devin who stood behind me and complained for pretty much the entirety of our visit. One of the staff members asked him to clean a table after the guests leave(which SHOULD be done) and he pretty much pouted and threw a mini tantrum standing like 2 feet behind me. The other staff members came up to him and really tried to get him out of his funk, so for that good job to them. But I don’t want to hear how you«feel disrespected for being asked to do your job» get over it, it’s a job and we all have them and we all have orders to take from someone. Really Devin? Really??? I won’t ding the whole review because he decided to loudly complain behind me the whole time but I don’t want to hear you cry while I eat Devin, that’s the reason I have children. The staff was REALLYREALLY friendly, like you’re best friend that you never knew you had. 4. The overall experience was good, I really think they will do well here and the location is great. The food was freshly cooked and it showed, the establishment was well designed inside but the parking lot was somewhat small(you’ll most likely have to park in the larger lot nearby during busy times, but hey walking is good for you so don’t be lazy). Pros: Awesome food and a great location. Two adult meals and a kids meal with 3 drinks cost $ 19 and some change when they«rang it up» but we got the meal for free, so go us. Clean atmosphere(although it should be at this point being so new). Friendly staff abounded! The drive through is going to be a major plus if you want to pick up dinner for the family. The menu, although limited at this time until the grand opening on Monday 11/16/2015 looks like it has great variety; wings, chicken tenders, wraps, salads, chicken and waffles, dessert in a jar and a large variety of sauces(honestly the sauces are some of the better ones I’ve had in awhile). You can find the full menu here
Cons: It’s a new place so they will have some growing pains. The food was heat hot, so don’t let your kids burn their mouths(not really bad, just be aware of it, I liked that it was cooked fresh). I can see this place getting REALLY packed at peak hours like Chipotle and Chick-a-filet, which means it may take some time to get through the lines with the wait time it took tonight(but it was a training night, so please keep that in mind) One thing I have to acknowledge is that this place is new and Chipotle and Chick-a-filet have their system down PAT(chick-a-filet can process several hundred cars during the heavy lunch hour). Time will tell if Slim Chicken can get this right as well.
