This small place doesn’t seem like much, but has some great Filipino and Hawaii dishes with lots of choice. We had the chicken long rice(which was a rice Noodle soup basically). Really liked it. Also had a beef stir fry with mushrooms. Comes with rice and Salad. Everything was very flavourful but made me wonder if they used flavour enhancers bc it all tasted similar.

Stumbled onto this little gem in Kaua’i. They offered us samples from the daily specials and we were sold! Fast friendly service and the food was great!

Legit Filipino place. They even have vinegar on the side condiments. I ordered the Tocino and my wife ordered the Bangus and they were both extremely good. I highly encourage anyone who orders the Tocino to put vinegar on it. Wow!!!

Fast friendly service… But the food just wasn’t for us. I love Loco Moco but I’ve gotta be totally honest… The mushrooms weren’t cooked into the gravy… In fact, they didn’t even get mixed in with the gravy all of the way, so when I had a bite with some of them, I could tell that they were still cold… The onions were BARELY cooked. And the meat and gravy had no flavor. This place DOES have potential to be an incredible little hole in the wall… One of those hidden gems… If they just took a little more time with their food. Ryan got the Chicken Katsu which came with eggs and rice. It was okay. Not great. Not awful. Basically the same as my Loco Moco. We may have ordered the wrong dishes but I’m not sure we’d be back. Maybe for breakfast!

a family café, modest and delicious food! came in for a really late lunch. They were really friendly and offered us some bites to sample from their deli section. We got the lentils(well seasoned), lau lau(very tender and not too salty) with rice, and got the banana crêpe with taro ice cream(MUSTTRY). The crêpe was unreal: crispy, caramelized bananas with ube/taro ice cream. We also picked up a pudding kind of dessert: more cake/bread-ish texture, flavors are good, not too sweet. I saw the flan but really had to hold back. If I’m ever back on the island, definitely returning!

If you want to get Ina good breakfast Hawaiian style, this is the place. I was here with my family and loved the selection. Although my kids are picky they loved the Traditional Breakfast. I had the waffle and the Seasonal fruit, strawberries papaya, pineapple & it was amazing, fresh . I tried the sticky rice and the coconut tapioca, it was great. Friendly staff and great service,. I would certainly comeback! Best breakfast in Kauai

I’ve been here too many times and became really close with the owner. Hard working woman! I stumbled this place when I was looking for the post office and I made the wrong left turn. Came here last Saturday but they closed early and it was her sister closing the restaurant for the day. Came back earlier today before my flight and still the best Filipino restaurant in Kauai! I had mongo. So yummy! I’m supposed to do their menu but looks like someone already did it for her. Highly recommended!

This is a review for their Hawaiian Curry Chicken, which was the among the best curry i’ve ever tasted! The chicken thigh pieces were super tender and the SAUCE was out of this world, it was the perfect blend of spicy, sweet, and the flavors of the chicken and ginger and spices all perfectly infused together. This is a no-frills, hole-in-the-wall place. The only one downer was that service took FOREVER even during a time when the restaurant was pretty much empty. but the food made up for it!

Visited Kauai a couple of weeks ago and found this gem. We liked it so much it we went twice. Had dinner and breakfast. The food tasted like home and was real tasty. Would recommend the pancit and chicken soup with green papaya. The place is family owned and the service was real friendly. Would definitely come back here if I were to come back to Kauai.

Ate here 3x during our vacation in Kauai for 8 days. It pretty much became our go-to place whenever we couldn’t decide what to eat. Everything else was alright, but their pancit was pretty good! :)

Family owned restaurant, so expect certain things to be out of place. Like the delivery of vegetables to be located by your table until they’re needed in the kitchen. Focusing on the food, it was really good and definitely wasn’t disappointed. Left in pain from eating so much.

Tried a new dish called pansit palabok which is a heavenly mixture of rice noodle, gravy, meat, hard boiled eggs which on paper sounds absolutely nutso but holy-palabok, it’s one of the most underrated Filipino food because it’s so scrumptious. I can’t wait to get back to Kauai to have more Filipino food at KFC!

Had the loco moco and fish for breakfast. The food was amazing and the owners/staff was super friendly. Truly a family restaurant. You feel good about the food you eat and the contribution you make to a mom and pop joint. Went again for lunch. Had the curry chicken and chicken long rice. Delicious!!! And had dessert to go. So good and such great people running the restaurant. Make you feel like you are at home. Worth coming back to again and again.

I wanted to love this place. Started off with the homemade lumpia. FANTASTIC!!! Was being adventurous and ordered the pandit Filipino noodle dish. It was edible but not to my liking. Maybe my taste buds aren’t accustomed to Filipino/authentic Hawaiian food but it just came across as odd. The noodles were good and the bits of pork were amazing but the sauce was gloppy and not very flavorful. The hard boiled eggs in the hot dish was weird but not bad but the shrimp were bland and rubbery. Mom had pork adobo which was great though she thought a bit salty(it’s marinated in soy sauce so it’s what I expected) but kudos for her for going along with her foodie daughter. I’d highly recommend the lumpia and would try the BBQ pork or adobo.

A bit of a dive with supremely yummy adobo pork. Tender, not too much vinegar(for mainstream audience like myself)…it was a hit with the whole family, grandparents, kids alike. Price is quite reasonable for the quantity of protein.

Had the loco moco here. My wife had the French toast. Everyone in my party loved their food. This place treated us like family and it had excellent customer service. The food all came out at the right time and we weren’t kept waiting too long. They are also very accommodating with small kids and babies. This will definitely be a stop on my next Kauai trip!

My husband and I had a nice little dinner here one night during our stay in Kauai. It was just a short drive from our hotel in Lihue, and it was nice to have some Filipino comfort food — man can’t live on spam musubi alone, amirite?! We shared the lumpiang shanghai appetizer, and we opted for two styles of adobo for dinner: I had pork, and he had chicken. (Full disclosure: I saw a picture of their fresh lumpiang sariwa on Unilocal and was hoping they had some, but it was listed on their morning menu and the waitress told me that they actually only ever have lumpiang shanghai? Kinda confusing, but either way, I didn’t get any fresh lumpia hahah.) But anyway. The adobo was really good! I thought it could have used a little more vinegar — but then again, I like my adobo with a lot of vinegar, so that’s probably just my personal preference. I was a little hesitant to order the pork, as pork adobo at restaurants often comes out tough and chewy because it hadn’t been marinated as long. Rarely a problem with chicken, but pork & beef can sometimes be an issue. But this pork was really tender and juicy, with just the right amount of fattiness. Delicious! My husband’s chicken adobo was also very tender and moist. Only complaint about the meat: the chicken was cut into chunks! I can never understand why you would opt for bone shards instead of the traditional carving method. But I digress.) At the end of our evening, we were delighted to see that the bill was considerably less than most restaurants on Kauai. Great option for a low-key, filling meal. I thought the restaurant itself was very cute, and the staff was quite friendly. I saw people come in for takeout, and bring their own pots! I can only guess that they had ordered sinigang, and BYOP(?) is much easier to handle than all those plastic containers. How adorable is that!

Definitely a little gem of a place in Kapaa for good ol’ Filipino breakfast. My husband and I ventured here twice for some tapsilog. On our first visit, he got the Bangsilog(fried milkfish) and I got the Tocilog(sweet marinade pork). Both were excellent, especially doused in spiced vinegar, which my husband surprisingly enjoyed, given that he’s a white boy. On our second visit, our server was an older Filipino lady, who reminded me of one of my beloved Lolas. She was attentive and showed us that token hospitality that I miss. This time, I got the Fried Eggplant and he got the Longanisa. Both dishes weren’t as stellar compared to the plates we ordered the first time. It’s okay though, they were still tasty. We really enjoyed the ambience and I couldn’t help but chuckle to myself when I overheard the staff speaking Ilocano, the dialect my parents speak. Be sure to visit here if you’re in the mood for Filipino food with that island vibe.
