Best steakhouse in Houston. Papa Bros has better wine selection, yes, but DelFrisco has the best tasting steaks and sides, the best atmosphere, and the best service. Expensive but worth every dime. Try the bone in ribeye with the JJ Watt topping(king crab infused with truffle butter). Went on our anniversary and the dessert was on the house… still dropped over $ 200 but hey, the dessert was free.

I’m giving it a 3 Star as the 1st time we dined there I could have reviewed it as a 5 and this time as a 2. So for a special Father’s day celebration and welcome home to our son who lives overseas I booked reservations expecting the same 5 Star service and meal. and was very very disappointed. We were seated outside the bar downstairs(quite noisy and lacked the atmostphere of upstairs) but I could deal with that had everything else been up to par. The food was mediocre(my memory of the brussel sprouts as so divine were bitter and stayed on our plates after the 1st couple bites) The server was ok and brand new, just not what I expected based on my 1st experience. We sat and waited for our check a good 20 minutes after we finished. Then to end it all, the valet never came with our car as we watched everyone who came after drive away. A very very disappointing experience, and no desire to return, unfortunately. Truly disappointing.

I was really excited to eat here since I am a steak lover, but I have to admit I was really disappointed. I came here with my sister and friend after fasting all day(unable to eat or drink until sunset) to celebrate my friends birthday, and the three of us ordered the filet mignon. We each added butter to the filet to give it some extra flavor, which we later found out was $ 6 extra each. FORBUTTER. But the waitress didn’t mention that it was extra to us so we didn’t find out until after receiving the bill, which thankfully I mentioned to the manager and got it taken off. My friend ordered a salad and asked for a side of ranch which never came. She ordered her filet medium rare, but it came out rare, so by time she got to the middle of the steak, it was so rare she couldn’t even finish eating it. My sister ordered mashed potatoes for her and I to share, and ordered her filet well done, but it was literally burnt. I ordered my filet medium well, but it came out rare, so I sent it back. As I waited another 15 minutes for my filet to come back, my friend and sister were already half way done with their steaks, and I was starving since I’ve been fasting all day(which the waitress knew.) Once my steak finally arrived again, it was medium! So I had to send my steak back AGAIN a total of two times! By time my steak came back the second time, it was burnt and past well done. And after my filet being re cooked two times, it totally ruined it. For a fancy expensive restaurant such as this I felt like the steaks were absolutely un expectable, as well as the service. We ordered the butter cake dessert which was absolutely delicious. So that was the only good thing about the experience. Over all I would NEVER come here again. The steak was way too expensive and less than one star. P.s the atmosphere wasn’t as beautiful and great as the pictures. I was definitely underwhelmed. A very bad steakhouse overall.

This is just about the best steakhouse in Houston. I can’t say that definitively because there are a few top-rated places I haven’t had a chance to visit, but this is easily where I’ve had the best steak I’ve had in town. A friend and I swung by here for Houston Restaurant Weeks to try their three-course dinner. Portions weren’t large, but the food was well worth it. The service is exceptional as well. The waiters wear all black in a dimly lit restaurant, moving fairly silently and almost blending into the darkness as they quietly disappear. It’s the closest thing I’ve seen to real life ninja work. I’ll definitely be back here. It’s pricey, so this place will never make my regular rotation, but it’s definitely worth visiting for HRW or a special occasion.

I concur with the other Unilocalers who say that this is one of the best steakhouses in Houston! I’ve been to many(since I’m on a mission to try them all), and I must say that when it comes to ambience, customer service and a darn good steak — Del Frisco’s ranks high. This place is pure sophistication without the pretentiousness you’d expect from a high-end steakhouse. First, do NOT dine here if you plan on passing up the lobster mac n’ cheese! Unless you’re allergic, you have absolutely no excuse for passing up this goodness. Their recipe is similar to the one at Ruth’s Chris, but I prefer Del Frisco’s. I’ve ordered it alone for take-out since it’s just that good. The spinach supreme and asparagus are also good, as well as their broccoli when it’s featured as the fresh vegetable to the day. I’m not much of a bread eater, but their fresh-baked loaf and butter can be downright addictive. Like many places, the sides are family style for your convenience in sharing. Now, onto the meat of things(pun intended). I’m a carnivore to my core(yes, this little lady loves a good steak). I can honestly say that I’ve never been disappointed. Whether it’s the bone-in ribeye or the 8 oz. filet when I’m being modest, each cut has been delicious, seasoned and cooked well enough so that the true flavor of the meat comes through. On the seafood side, the salmon in the tchoupitoulas sauce is where it’s at. It practically melts in your mouth… and disappears from your plate just as fast. Highly recommended for those who don’t eat red meat. Since my last visit was for my birthday, I had the lemon cake on the house. It was fantastic as far as cakes go. I can see why it’s a popular choice. All in all, each visit was pleasantly at or above my expectations, so I will continue to come back.

Del Frisco’s was incredible. I was fortunate enough to dine here for business. The service was outstanding– water never got below ¾ full, crumbs were constantly swept, fresh bread magically kept reappearing. Incredible! As a group of 4, we got the calamari and crab cake appetizer. This was honestly the best calamari I’ve ever had. It was so tender and perfectly fried with wonderful flavor. Yum!!! I’m not a huge fan of crab but the crab cake was quite tasty as well. We each got a salad, Caesar or the blue cheese wedge. Blue cheese wedge was delicious– generous amounts of crispy bacon and lots of fresh crumbled blue cheese. I had the 8oz filet mignon cooked medium rare– it was incredibly tender with a perfect crust on it. We shared 4 family sides of spinach, brussells sprouts, potatoes au gratin, and lobster Mac n cheese; every single one was delicious, albeit maybe a little salty. We also got dessert… it was a business dinner after all! We got the butter cake, lemon cake, strawberry cheesecake, and chocolate soufflé cake. All were very tasty. The chocolate cake was a little too dark chocolate for my liking but there was definitely nothing wrong with it. This is the type of place that you come for something nice and you will not be disappointed. I can’t wait for my next anniversary for an excuse to come here as a treat!

I’m going to start out saying that my review is based on lunch for Mother’s Day — so with that said, I fully appreciate the large crowd and the demand for service on this holiday. Here’s my problem — a steakhouse that does not serve a proper steak. I ordered an 8 oz filet(cooked MEDIUM) and what I got looked like a hockey puk. It was so charred and burnt on the outside, that the bitter taste took over the entire steak. What’s weird is that the steak was pink in the middle but still it was very tough. Not juicy at all — I did not have any juice on my plate and a proper medium steak will leave a lot of juices on the plate. Not only that, but the steak had ZERO flavor. It was as bland as unseasoned hamburger meat. Also, I ordered a side of asparagus with almonds — everyone else at the table ordered baked potatoes, and since I am on a very strict low-carb diet, I asked for asparagus. When the server came to our table with the asparagus, he offered everyone a serving from it. Um — HELLO??? That’s my food you’re giving away to everyone. So after everyone had their share of my side dish, I was left with about three stalks of asparagus. Not cool man, not cool at all. I won’t even go into the valet parking disaster because it was truly a nightmare. I know this is not on Del Frisco because they share in the valet service offered by the galleria, but it was RIDICULOUS. We ended up fetching our own vehicle because we had to get someone to the airport and could not wait the approximate half hour that we were given as an estimate. I will not be back — I’m giving them 3 stars because the server(Chris — he’s not the one who gave away my food) was very attentive and helpful and also because the dessert was very good. One more thing — the hostess needs to understand that when you are seating a party with an elderly person, please take time to offer them the elevator. Asking a 72 year old woman to climb to the top of the restaurant via stairs is really not the best customer service. Yep — 3 stars — and that’s only because I’m feeling a bit generous.

Having eaten at my fair share of quality steak houses nation-wide and internationally, it means a lot when I say, hands down, amongst the best steak I’ve ever had. Without a doubt, one of the best that Houston has to offer. All the food was pretty incredible. I had the stone crab claws to start — absolutely delicious. My boyfriend had the ‘crab cake,’ which is really just jumbo lump crab formed into a little mound atop some cajun style cream sauce(kind of like étouffée). Pretty good, but nothing special. The tuna tartar was very perfectly seasoned; the Tuna was incredibly fresh, though I wasn’t a fan of the seaweed salad atop. In terms of our main dishes — O.M.G. Absolutely one of the best steaks I’ve ever had; I highly recommend going for the bone-in if you want a filet, though the regular filet mignon was also quite good. The tomahawk, as usual, is a sight to see; the quality of all the meat was simply outstanding, and everything was cooked to the exact temperature we each requested. They have a nice selection of wines, and the somm, though very young, is extremely knowledgable. The cocktails are delicious, and they’ve actually got a pretty nice selection of beers as well. Go for the Chimay — you won’t regret it! The service was great, even though our waiter was a tad on the awkward side(I thought it was kind of cute!). Very attentive staff. I like seeing management on the floor, as well as helping the service staff; this is definitely the case here. The bus boys are a little clumsy, needing direction as to where to go even once at the table, but really not a big deal. All in all, definitely above average. Finally, the atmosphere is great! There’s a nice view of the galleria if you sit on the second floor; the cars that drive up are always fun to watch as well =P. Very pretty, very well maintained restaurant. Definitely recommend requesting a seat on the second floor. Basically, worth every penny. Great food, good service, and a lovely restaurant — I’ll surely be coming back soon!

We visited as part of our trip to the Final Four and sat at the bar as six Villanova fans. The bartender and manager made us feel extremely welcomed and went above and beyond making sure we had an experience we have come to expect by frequenting Delfrisco’s in different cities. The level of service here is top notch and the hospitality was very very welcomed. A big THANKYOU to both the manager and the staff that were their for lunch on Monday April 4th!

For everyone that is looking for a short review here it is: Atmosphere: 5 out of 5 Service: 5 out of 5 Food: 4.5 out of 5(–0.5 for side dishes) For everyone that is looking for a detail review, get ready here it comes: We had reservations at 7:30, once we got there our table was ready. The girls at the front were very welcoming and nice. We were taken to our table and our waitress came over and introduced herself. She was a total sweetheart. She went over the menu and told us about couple of things that weren’t on the menu, which we all know we stop listening after the 2nd or 3rd item but when we asked her again she was more than happy to go over it again. The other thing I loved about their service, is my water was always full, and before my drink gets empty she comes back around to make sure that I get taken care of. I also liked the system they have going, whenever you are done with a dish, you get 2 – 3 people cleaning your table which gets done in 2 seconds instead of having to wait for once person that takes their time. Now let’s talk food: Lobster Tempura(off the menu) was the bomb! It was amazing, cooked just right, and the sauce it came with was great. Prime Ribeye so flavorful, cooked just how I wanted it. The waiter that brings it out asks you to check it before they leave to make sure you got just what you wanted. Spinach supreme — this was probably my favorite out of all the sides I tried. It had good flavor, maybe too garlic-y but it was still good Lobster mac and cheese — it wasn’t as great as I’d hoped it would! It was a little watery and not cheesy. The flavor was ok nothing special Asparagus with roasted almonds — you can’t really go wrong with asparagus but you can go wrong with not cooking them right, so I was a little disappointed. Anyways, this place is awesome and I would recommend going here because I sure will be coming back!

I know this may be an unpopular take, but I think Del Frisco’s is a really solid option for lunch and dinner, but I would never compare it to some of the other steakhouses around. My boyfriend and I here came here for lunch, and it’s definitely a great looking restaurant. The atmosphere is certainly a 4, and their lunch menu makes it a good place for a work lunch. The bread that comes out is a 3.5. It’s good, but it’s not mind-blowing for a steakhouse. This may be a good or bad thing depending on your diet. My boyfriend enjoyed his burger, but he preferred the one from Smith & Wollensky’s. I had the Greek salad and it was okay, but certainly not worth ~$ 15 to me given its size and few ingredients. It definitely felt more like an appetizer salad than a lunch entrée, but maybe I just am spoiled with my large salads. I have not visited for dinner, so I cannot speak to that. I did visit for a corporate lunch in addition to the above lunch with my boyfriend, and it was still a 3 for me. The salad I had came with 2 large strips of bacon, which wasn’t really my style, as I prepared it chopped up. The goddess dressing was enjoyable though. I thought the shrimp and crab appetizers were good but to be expected for a steakhouse. I opted for the salmon, and I thought this was the highlight of the meal at a 4 with heavenly(and heart attack inducing) mashed potatoes. I skipped the dessert, but I heard good things. Here you really pay for ambiance and good service. For a business lunch, as I mentioned before, it’s a solid choice. For a good lunch with a friend or colleague, I would choose a lot of other better value places before this personally.

One of my top 3 steak places in Houston! I love the peppered crust on their steaks. I recommend getting the steak 1 level below your cooked tolerance — as the hot plate cooks it a little extra. Don’t be turned off from the fact that it’s in the mall, the ambiance is nice, dark, and very romantic for a nice evening with your guy/gal. Ambiance — 5 Service — 5 Food — 5 Appetizers/Side Dishes — 4 Price — 5

I attended a corporate event here and we had a private room for 40+ people. The service from start to finish was great. I got there early to help set up the room and the staff was EXCELLENT. Wine list is endless, the ambiance is great, and I recommend this place for both business and pleasure. The bread was fair. The bread«across the isle» at Oceanaaire is better. Granted this is a steak house, yet I was pulling for the better bread. Salad was great and so was the steak. Everyone ordered the cheesecake«to-go» and I did not. The thing was MASSIVE and beyond wonderful so I highly recommend room for that. The best part was the staff, the servers awesome, the manager, awesome, and the experience, awesome.

Not entirely impressed, but the steak was pretty good. I’ve been to some of the best steak houses around the world, and I know what I am looking for. To start, Del Frisco’s has the ambiance with the soft lighting, white table clothes, candles, etc. not sure that anything else lined up… When I go to a really good steak house, typically the server will tell me how the chef recommends it to be cooked. If not, I will ask… but 4 out of 5 times the answer will be «Medium Rare». I’ve come to realize that when the quality of the steak is really good, less cooking time keeps the flavored in. I also look for«Seared Steak» or searing. So, when I ordered from here, the server didn’t say how the chef recommends it to be cooked. When I asked, he said he didn’t know. The server recommended it to be cooked«Medium», which is fine but I think that’s the easy — middle of the road answer and may have been his own preference. I was surprised by that. I then asked how they cook the steak, and was given an answer on temperature of the stove /oven. I asked if the stark was seated and was told no. As I further investigated how they cook my steak, I was told it is «Blistered». This really sparked my interest as I had never heard that terminology for cooking a steak. I even«Googled» the term«Blistering or Blistered» for steak and couldn’t find much to back up that statement. So, how was it. For a top steak house, I wasn’t completely impressed. It was good, but not great. When I pay a lot for a steak I hope the quality reflects it… here it was not. One of our steaks was cooked incorrectly, which was taken back and fixed. It seemed after that happened that the managers and servers were not as nice with us.

The One Where We Celebrate Every Mom Event Here. A few years ago, I introduced this steakhouse to my mom. After that, we’ve been coming here for her birthday and Mother’s Day. Please believe, my mom is very specific with her ribeye steak. Other than Taste of Texas, my mom doesn’t really step foot in another steakhouse here in Houston. Anyway, let me digress and focus on the food. For appetizers, I usually get the Shanghai-style calamari and their crabcakes. Nom nom to these two items! If you like a sweet and spicy taste, then the calamari will be your next favorite! The crabcakes here are delish because you get a huge bite of crab meat every time. If you’re a crabcake lover, then you know exactly what I mean. Steaks here are prime or bone-in prime. Very flavorful and they make sure the steaks are cooked exactly to your liking. I usually get the filet. Do know that most of the steaks are served a la carte. There is a small section of the menu where they serve some side dishes with the protein. So let’s talk about their side dishes. We almost always get their bacon jalapeño mac and cheese. Nom, nom, nom! It’s a favorite that I hate diverting from. We’ve tried their Chateaux potato and it’s basically mashed potato. The skillet potato and onions are onions with homemade baked potato chips(not a fan). The asparagus are topped with almonds(yum) and you can totally skip their onion rings. The onion rings look amazing, but it wasn’t crispy and not worth $ 10! All-in-all(I feel like I’m using my high school thesaurus book), I love the food here. The service have always been excellent and it makes everyone happy. I recommend making a reservation just in case. It’s located in the Galleria so parking is never really bad(unless it’s Christmas time).

Boom. The Tempura Lobster will ruin you for life as you trudge through broiled or boiled variations. The drinks are top notch and the service is great. The TV’s in the bar are a little small, but the portions and attention to detail are not. For most this is a special occasion spot, but it’s worth a few extra bucks to really get a quality meal and never leave unhappy.

I came here today(11/17/2015) for lunch. The steak was amazing! I get medium rare and it was perfect! The service was great. Our drinks were always full. Tables always clean. To me, it was well worth it! We got the lunch deal with the starter, entrée and dessert. We also got to family portion sizes of spinach and lobster Mac n cheese! Everything was really good. We waddled out that place!

I came here with my friends for Houston Restaurant Weeks. We were seated promptly and was introduced to the drink menu. The server told us about the VIP martini and told us that there were pineapples in it. He then proceeded to point at the big pineapple bin, saying that they press one into every drink. What a great way to sell a drink! We all got one. Our main server finally came out and she offered to take a picture of the table for us since she saw us trying to take pictures of ourselves. Awesome! I had the caesar salad for my first course, it was just like any other regular caesar salad. I wasn’t really feeling the steak so I got the salmon. I love it when restaurants ask me how I’d like my salmon. Medium, please! However the salmon came out a bit more cooked than I would like. I tried my boyfriend’s steak with the truffle butter on top and it was delicious! For my dessert, I got the banana bread pudding which was good as well. Before dinner, I had to excuse myself to the ladies room but I had no idea where it was. Before I could ask, someone was already offering to show me to my destination. The bathroom was not as nice as I would expect the bathroom at a high end restaurant to look like. But that’s alright. Overall, my experience was good. I might come back for their $ 55 menu!

I had real high hopes for this place. I expected so much more than what i received. Not only because of the raving Unilocal reviews but because this place cost an arm and a leg. And when you’re spending a limb you expect pure greatness! So to begin this place LOUD, like seriously loud. We got a table located upstair with a cool view. Was greeted by two different people, no problems so far. As soon as we started ordering that’s where it went down hill. I ordered the VIP martini which took forever to come. Since it was HRW we ordered from that menu. I got the ceasar salad requested with no dressing, and the salmon requested with no mashed potatoes. We got the salad and sure enough it came with dressing. When I finished my drink the waiter didn’t bother to ask if I wanted another, or if we needed anything at all. When I asked for another drink he gave me a stiff attitude. Anywho, when the food came, guess what? It came with the potatoes. The food was average, nothing to write home about. So the desert came and if I had to describe it using one: Edible. That is it. I mean it’s safe to eat but that’s it. I got the bread pudding with seriously a teaspoon of ice cream. The bread pudding was dry, it was just not up to par. Needless to say I didn’t finish my food nor dessert, and not because I was full. I would like to believe that I just caught them on a bad day. I really wanted to enjoy this place. I wouldn’t suggest it to anyone. Crappy service, mediocre food… sigh.

Del Frisco’s tops my list for the BEST customer service during HRW(Houston Restaurant Week — 2015). It’s the perfect experience for a «budget friendly» fine dining experience that’s suitable for a date or group outing. For a price tag of $ 45(before tax and tip), you get your choice of a lavish selection of an appetizer, main course, and dessert. I ordered the Cesar salad, 8 oz. filet Mignon, and banana bread pudding. As expected, the Cesar salad came out fresh with whole leaves of romaine lettuce. Dressing was used with the right amount. Croutons were excellent. I had a chance to try the mixed salad and soup as well. I highly recommend the soup. The Filet Mignon was ordered as medium rare and came out just the way I wanted. The steak knife cut the meat with such little effort. Taste was on point and might just be one of the best I had in Houston. I recommend ordering it «Oscar» style which is $ 10 more. The warm banana bread pudding is good but slides more towards the very sweet spectrum. It’s perfect for a few bites but its an over indulgence to finish for just one person. The service here is excellent from start to finish. On both occasions that I came here, my expectations were well exceeded. One of my favorite aspects is how the food arrives to your table. They make sure that everyone is served all at the same time and also that all empty plates are removed from the table at the same time. They use a large team of servers to perform this operation simultaneously. It’s fantastic! Bread crumbs are swiftly cleaned off the table before the main meal and napkins are folded for people who left for the restroom. Servers are very nice, professional, and know how to respectfully cater to all types of customers. I don’t believe that there is a dress code, but you may stand out if you wear ripped up jeans and a t-shirt. For guys, stick with a button down shirt and nice pants. For ladies, dresses or other semi-formal wear are appropriate. A suit jacket is not required. TIPS: –Reservations are highly recommended, especially during HRW. They will not seat you unless all members of your party are present per reservation. –Valet is $ 9 and worth it during the weekends. –If you order the 8 oz. filet Mignon and think thats not enough food, you can order a bigger size for extra, but it was definitely enough for me. They serve fresh warm sesame bread while you wait for your food. FUNFACT: –The windows are 3 story tall and all made from a single panel. The cost per panel is $ 230,000.(Source: Our waiter)

I’ve just eaten the BEST filet mignon ever! Thanks to HRW, I had an opportunity to enjoy a great meal while supporting a wonderful cause, the Houston Food Bank. I dined on 3-course meal consisting of poblano soup, an 8oz filet mignon(upgraded with black truffle butter), decadent mashed potatoes and green beans and warm banana bread pudding for dessert. I highly recommend the sweet pineapple infused martini called the VIP. It’s da bomb!

Mein Fazit: wer in Houston wirklich gutes Steak essen will geht eher ins Taste of Texas. Hier gibt es definitiv das bessere Steak zu günstigeren Preisen leider nicht ganz so zentral gelegen.

Del Frisco’s is an excellent restaurant/steakhouse. I’ve had one of the best steaks ever. The meat so tender that the knife almost slides through it by itself. I ordered medium-rare and the meat was just cooked perfectly. Plus, the dessert just topped that. Both were an excellent recommendation by the waiter. Generally the service was very friendly and available just when I needed it. The price tag isn’t for people on budget, but rather for business people.
