Wonderful atmosphere and meal. My wife and I celebrated our 9myear anniversary at Morton’s. I ordered the filet mignon, my wife ordered the Cajun Ribeye. Go with my wife’s choice if you want a juicy flavorful steak. You will not be disappointed. The filet mignon was tasty but does not come close to the Cajun Ribeye. Great wait staff – very attentive!

I love Morton’s! All of the appetizers & sides are delicious! Definitely must order the cajun ribeye(so juicy & flavorful) or the porterhouse which was perfect also! Our waiter Edwin was attentive & great! The only downside is that the bar is slow on getting drinks out & overall, our dinner for a party of 7 took 3 hours! Worth it though. Bread pudding is a dessert must order!

I have been here two times, once for a birthday dinner and a 2nd time to experience their $ 1 Filet mignon sandwich day. Each time, I’ve had an enjoyable experience within a great setting of other elite in the Houston area. I only remember a few details from the first time, the steaks were good, but not great and not all they were hyped up to be from the advertisements and my friend’s suggestions. I guess I’m just not a fan of corn-fed beef. The shrimp cocktail we had ordered was very memorable several years later since it had some of the largest shrimp I’ve tried in Houston in a shrimp cocktail, at a fancy steakhouse. On the $ 1 steak sandwich night, we came around 6pm and waited around 45 minutes in a single file line, along with everyone else, to sample the sandwiches. They were pretty plain and came with just their mayo. They normally cost $ 2 each at happy hour, but for 1 night, they cut the price in half and limit you to 12 of them. They bring them out 4 at a time, just in case you get full and can’t finish all 12. The happy hour menu indicates they come with a mayo mustard on the buns. Me and my dining companion had no problem finishing all 24 sandwiches, since we removed a lot of the bread and then dipped the remaining portion of sandwich with mostly beef in A-1 sauce. We had been seated at the bar just after their happy hour ended, so we weren’t able to sample any of their discounted happy hour items. The price jumps up significantly if you miss happy hour, and since we were coming to spend only around $ 12 each, we didn’t want to order 1 more entrée, appetizer, or salad which would have cost more than all 12 sandwiches put together. Since they have a server seating you during this event, you really don’t get to choose where you sit. If you’re lucky, sit at the bar, since you will get better/quicker service. We did see one unhappy customer while waiting in line, I think his name was Gary F., as he was being escorted out by security. He apparently couldn’t read the fine print and figure out that this deal was only available in the«Bar Area». He had hoped to get the sandwiches to go… haha…yah right.

Restaurant Weeks is back, now extended all the way to September 7. So, it’s all of August plus an extra week in September. I hadn’t used my Landry’s card since I bought it at Brenner’s steakhouse in the energy corridor(another favorite) eons ago and had $ 25 sitting on it. Morton’s is also in the Landry’s empire. For Restaurant Weeks, a three course meal is $ 45 and would result in a donation of 21 meals at the Houston food bank. The facility is upscale, awesomely designed with lots of cool touches like all their wine on display in glass wine rooms, tons of cool chandeliers and just generally makes you feel like if prohibition had continued into the present, this is what a modern speakeasy would feel like. The actual meal was great. The steak(wife) and pork chop(me) delivered like Karl Malone. Can’t really complain about anything here. Really like the three course package that restaurant week does. My wife out ordered me on dessert. The crème brûlée was better than my cheesecake, though both were good. Cocktails were awesome, but pricy. The palm Beach Peach one was quite good. I noticed they have a bar area that filled up quite a bit just outside the dining room, so that would be a good place for happy hour or drinks after dinner elsewhere. We got there at 9pm and left at 11pm(closing) on a Friday and it was pretty busy throughout, so this a good choice for a late dinner. There were tons of people hanging out past closing. I think we were the only people who left on time!

Visited Mortons to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Upon arrival we received a menu that had happy anniversary printed on it and our waiter took a picture of us. We were surprised when just a few minutes later the picture was framed on our table. The food — Just want to start of my saying neither my husband nor myself eat beef so can’t comment on the steaks. We are seafood lovers and both of our dinners were superb. My husband had the snapper topped with crab mixed grill and I had the stuff shrimp. We had zero complaints about the food. Restaurant is nice and cozy and could have been romantic if the table directly in front of us didn’t have a toddler and baby at it and after they left another mother and baby was placed in front of us. We left both of our kiddos at home and wasn’t expecting to overhear any on our romantic anniversary dinner — reason I took a star off.

Love this place, quiet, nice, romantic, classy, beautiful decors. The highlight is TRUFFLEBUTTER! Add it on any steak they have n it is perfection. I personally only like the ribeye. The crab cakes r also one of the best I’ve had, no bread or fillings here, just pure crab lumps like how it should be. The shrimp cocktail was also very fresh. The finale have to be the soufflé!!! Don’t hesitate and get the lemon one, I thought I would like chocolate but we got both the chocolate and lemon, and the lemon wins on so many levels. The most airy, fluffy, aromatic perfect soufflé I’ve had! Everything else was also great. Perfect night.

Food was ok, I’ve had better steaks. Service was superb!!! My ribeye was pretty salty and I asked for medium but I think it came out medium/well. Sides were ok. I expected so much from the restaurant and it wasn’t that great to be honest lol.

We were for a foodie club and Birthday. We had 10people and soent about $ 700. The front desk hostess was really nice and professional. We got seated on time and the restaurant was actually pretty slow for a Friday night. They sent out a summer 4 course special via email so we decided to go. The waitstaff Edwin was pretty pushy. He was concerned about his tip more than actual service. We are a big drinker group and he was taking one person bar order and leaving we had to try to flag him down half the time. The food came out so slow. I ordered a filet medium and it came well done. The chocolate mouse was spoiled and sour. The potatoes were over cooked. The table bread was delicious and the water was always filled quickly. The Cajun steak was really flavorful and yummy. Last time it was slow too with 5 people so I guess this restaurant can’t handle anything over 4 top. Sad part is that this use to be my favorite restaurant and the service was always amazing. I think in the past year it has just gone down. The great staff of yester year must of left and gave us substandard waitstaff like Edwin.

I came for a private event so this is a little skewed as far as reviews. Some items mentioned are not on the regular menu. In short, the service was great, but the food quality was just par. Appetizers that were served included: Deviled Eggs with truffle oil — a little too much oil, but still good Brushetta — a nice crunchy bread, a light mixture of the cheese and tomatoes — I wish there was a little more basil, but they also did well in not drowning the bite in balsamic Crab cakes — good consistency and balance of crab and the binder Around the table people got the 12oz filet mignon and I got that Red Snapper a La Nage(basically with some crab on top). The filets had a good sear and remained an even red throughout. My only complaint was that the meat could have used more flavor — whether it be seasoning or to be aged longer. I have to be a snob, but the 23 – 28 aged filet mignon lacked marbling and flavor that I prefer. The asparagus was well cooked and there was plenty of hollandaise. The highlight and best dish was actually the twice baked potatoes — very rich. Creamy on the bottom with a nice golden brown on top. The steak gave the 4 star reviews, but the 5 stars goes to the staff. Our waiter accommodated some of our changes in a professional manner: 1. They quickly noticed whenever someone walked away to use the restroom, and they refolded the napkin immediately. But each time they did so, they took the time to engage the table in conversation. 2. Some of us switched from the pinot noir to the cab. Each time instead of waiting for us to finish the pinot, they insisted on bringing out the cab immediately to let it air out. They kept our glasses full and also told us when the cab was being switched out with another cab. Our server also engaged us in a great conversation regarding small batch bourbon. 3. Without being rude, the servers were keen on making sure that those in our party with gluten free or nut allergies were treated with respect and kept away from potential contamination. I was in Houston for a conference and I was glad that although this location was in strip mall, there was the option of valet parking or simply parking a few more yards away without additional cost. The staff greeted and thanked us for coming throughout the entire facility. I may try other dishes, but if you ever come, make sure you get those twice baked potatoes.

I like Morton’s for all the wrong reasons. It is in a great location and the inside décor is very sexy. It is different than the old style woody places that other steakhouses seem to like. This place has a great atmosphere and definitely a a great photo op moment, which any girl can appreciate. If you are trying to impress a girl, definitely bring her here. The steak is good and their tuna tartare is wonderful! I’ve had better steak but at this price range it is pretty much comparable to other places!

Simply a first class restaurant experience. It is clear that the direct management of this establishment knows what they are doing. Great attention to detail and impeccable service. The food is spectacular. … A world-class Houston restaurant. Fine dining at its best!

Very consistent steaks and premium quality sides. Valet guys act as though they are to be worshiped. WTH Management should screen out resources better… hello? This is the first contact with the customer AND the last person the customer sees when leaving the establishment. I wanted to stay longer for a delicious dessert, but the girlfriend started acting whiny. Oh well, next time there will be a different date. :-0

Good food & good service they let me try a few wine options before I chose one. And they put me and my friend at a big round booth instead of a table which was nice. It’s a classy place with a Dim lit romantic atmosphere.

Have the steak Pittsburgh’ed. Very good These folks were super good to us. They set our group up with a private room with TV for the NFL draft. They made special consideration for about anything we asked for. The waiter knew the menu by heart and had advice on each thing we asked.

A group of six of us went for HRW, with two others ordering off the regular menu. Sorry, Morton’s, but you just don’t measure up to the other steakhouses in town. I’ll speak only to the dishes my wife and I had between us. Apps were the five-onion soup, which she said was good. My tomato and onion salad was decent, although the Roquefort dressing tasted almost like a bottled dressing, with hardly any«bite» typical of a good Roquefort dressing. We both had the 6-oz filet, which, while prepared perfectly, had little flavor.(Five people at the table had this dish and made the same comment.) We both had«creamed» corn, which was not creamed at all, but rather was corn kernels seasoned with pepper and a small amount of butter – not bad, but not what was described. For dessert, she had an excellent piece of key lime pie, and I had a soufflé Gran Marnier, which was far too lemony(WTF?), overcooked, and nowhere near hot enough. Service was good, especially for a table of eight, but this is not the place to go if you want a great steak. Noise level is pretty high. Also, IMHO, they need to tighten up a little on their dress code. Shorts and t-shirts just don’t cut it in a steakhouse for dinner.

I just want to say they have horrible service… but great food. Waitress came into our room and asked us what we wanted to drink… and we had to Ask for drink menus… then Ask for food menus… then Ask for bread. Ask Where our extra ordered sides were when our entrees were brought out. and she also spilled Water everywhere… wine was spilled outside our glasses… Other than that… food is awesomeee lol

It was my first time at Morton’s and since I’m not a steak person I ordered their Shrimp Scampi Capellini dish and it was so rich and delicious. The shrimp were seasoned well which is a plus in my book. Of course I had to enjoy a tasty cocktail. We went for the champagne cocktail which had cinnamon along the brim of the glass. It was delicious. The cinnamon on the brim was new for me but it went perfectly with the taste of the cocktail. I also tried the spinach salad with bacon dressing and it was absolutely delicious. Although I am going to pay for having bacon dressing it was definitely worth it. Our server was very attentive to our needs and had a very energetic personality. From time to time the manager would walk by greeting the guests and checking on them. I appreciate good service and they offered just that. The temperature inside was very comfortable for me especially since I don’t like being cold.
