I have contacted the restaurant through their website for reservations, I never heard anything back from them, if it is this hard to get reservations than I would hate to see what service is like for dinner.

Food was amazing! Sea bass was really good and my husband had the bone in fillet which was tasty. Minor complaint, they needed more waitstaff. Waiter was great, but he was handling a lot of tables and the door. Ambiance was very nice. We would come back for sure!

OK, just finished a great meal at this restaurant. Has the special meal celebrating Culinaria and it was excellent. The lobster wonton are to die for. Ambiance is quiet(which we like) and the chef, Nedra was friendly and ebullient. The new York strip was perfectly cooked, and the bread pudding dessert was delicious! My two complaints(which I shared with Nedra) were 1) don’t give me my cabernet chilled, please and 2) make sure you have limes(I ordered a rum & tonic with lime and was told by the waitress they were out of limes… Nedra assured me this was not the case). Give this fine, local restaurant a try.

Alright, I will admit that after reading reviews here as well as a few other sources(magazines, articles, websites, etcetera), we were a little hesitant to try Werner’s. However, I have been around long enough to realize that reviewers are not always right. One must decide for themselves. Notably, I read the negative reviews. This is necessary if you are following reviews. They should always be used as a guide, not gospel. So, I decided this place was worthy of our own deductions. What made this place great? The personable waitress, Tamara, the very friendly, sociable Chef Nedra, whom was even willing to come to our table, even make some recommendations when I requested it(«You want me to host, serve, cook your food? Sure!» she expresses with a stunning smile). Yes, she was on Gordon Ramsay’s show, Season 11, made it to the semi-finals. Last but most importantly, the food. Seated right away. Located in a strip mall next to Tang Street Chinese(pretty great for Texas, authentic Chinese). There was no one else there, although dinner service had only begun. Had beer, tea, average. The complimentary bread basket came with several different varieties, warm & freshly baked. Started with the Cream Spinach Fondue(Served with Garlic French Bread) & Special, Off-Menu Tempura Lobster Tail. The Fondue was some cheesy greatness. I always love when you can taste the fresh cheese, as well as see it as it stretches across the table. The Lobster? Great portions, battered & fried lightly, garnished & dished beautifully. Possibly the best thing all night. That is all I am going to say. Entrees were The Brick Duck(a little overcooked, but still flavorful), Served with Cajun Butter Sauce(served in seperate little pot with flame candle, über warm & savory) Sixteen Ounce Osso Buco Short Ribs. Now, this was beautiful. Looked as good as it tasted. Piquant, moist, flavorsome. We also had sides of asparagus(a little arid) & candied yams(warm, sweet, inviting taste of desert in an interestingly suiting side dish). As for why this place has such varying reviews? Location. Yes, the prices are high. But what do you expect from a quality, award winning chef run Seafood & Steakhouse? If this were on The RiverWalk and/or Downtown, with tourists frequenting, nobody would have anything negative to say. With more ability, say, as a corporate chain, for more sophisticated interior décor? 5 stars easily. I would take this place over Morton’s, Ruth Chris’s, any day…

I took my wife and daughter to Werner’s for mother’s day. We all ordered the Lobster Eggs Benedict and thought it was very good! While waiting they brought us complimentary medallion pancakes. They were very tasty! I do have 1 small recommendation and that we wish the Lobster Eggs Benedict had a little more hollandaise sauce. I mean, that’s what really makes it yummy, right? :)

5÷06÷15 Went to dine with friends. We ordered the shrimp tempura for appetizer, it was terrific, 5 large shrimp perfectly cooked… also had the 10oz prime fillet, one of the best steaks I ever had. Overall delicious but some what over priced. They did not have a liquor lic so that was a let down… had to drink their complementary cab… limit 2 glasses. Too bad it’s in a strip center. I would go back for special occasions.

We love to support new restaurants. This was a treat for us. We saw the cost listed on OpenTable but we didn’t mind that. When we arrived, we were surprised at how empty the sparse room was. We were immediately greeted by a very friendly hostess/waitress/bartender who seated us immediately. Since they have no liquor license, we were offered two complimentary glasses of wine each. Our initial choices were a malbec or a syrah. We ordered the malbec to find they were out of that. She happily brought us tastes of the syrah and a newly opened cab. Wine was decent — I’d serve it at my house for dinner. Looking over the menu — heavy on the deep fried food but creative. We were encouraged to try the tempura lobster tail as an appetizer. No cost was listed since it was off menu but the other appetizers were $ 9 – 15 so we were happy to try it. It was good, not great, as I found there to be too much tempura batter. The big disappointment was when the bill came and we found it cost $ 48… Our steaks were served with«smashed» potatoes. Literally 3 baby potatoes, boiled, salted and pressed with a fork. The steaks were cooked perfectly and were excellent cuts and seemed to be true to listed weight. We were disappointed at the setup of the sauces — a small round-bottom dish on a wire stand with a tea light below. Unfortunately, it was not terribly stable and got dumped onto the table. However, before this occurred, the chimichurri sauce was good. The sides were good — sweet potato was outstanding, sautéed spinach was average, grilled zucchini also average. The end of the meal coffee was very good. Overall, our enjoyment to dollar ratio was not what I would have expected. For $ 250(including tip), I would not expect to have trays dropped several times(empty but still loud), the chef yelling and laughing loudly during the meal, trash left on the floor for 20 minutes. At that price point, you don’t expect so many missteps. That is NOT what we experienced.

Worst experience ever!!! Came here for my brothers birthday the day before valentine’s day, so there was a «special menu». However everything was the same with the exception of chicken. Arrived here at around 7 sat arround for about a half hour before our drink order was taken. Then had to flag down our waiter after another half hour of waiting. My father warned our waiter that we would be a very valuable table and would leave a great tip if taken care of properly… I’m guessing this was not of much importance to him, because after our order was taken we waited another hour and a half, glasses empty, not once attended to, everyone starving. At this point in time we would have eaten anything so again we tried to find our waiter. Just to realize he is assisting another party in a completely opposite room. I would like to point out that the resturants was not packed whatsoever and there was more than enough help, just lack of interest in the customers that were there. Overall I would give this place a fail! We did not even make it to receive our food all of us were starving and got up and left. Complete let down, we did however go to a nice habachi resturants called hon Machi, we were seated and served quickly food was fresh and ended the night well after a complete let down here at werner’s.

Longest meal of my life! Came here because I always want to give new restaurants a try especially new steakhouses. I was not impressed. It took forever for our food to come out. Here’s how it went. First we ordered oysters in the half shell those took about 20 mins to come out. There’s 6 oysters on a bed of veggies and that’s it. No sauce, no horseradish, nothing but lemon and stale crackers! I understand that not every restaurant does cocktail sauce some do mignonette or some other version of it. But nothing? I thought that was a bit odd. I did end up asking for horseradish which took another 10 minutes to come. Alright now we wait for the main course. 30 mins pass, waitress says food will be out soon. 40 mins pass, 50 mins pass, finally 55 mins after our appetizer our main course appears. We were starving at this point and yet we weren’t satisfied with our food. The steak was not sizzling hot, everything was overly salted from the side salad to the potatoes. I had honestly thought about getting dessert at the beginning of the meal but after such a long wait decided it probably wouldn’t be best to order anything else. Couldn’t imagine sitting there and waiting any longer. So, it was time to get the check and leave. Took a while to flag down the waitress. Though she was nice she wasn’t the most attentive. Considering there’s only about 8 tables in the whole place, you’d think its be easier to get a hold of her. The check was massive. Everything here is expensive and not worth the cost. For the price I paid I should’ve gone to Ruth Chris where the atmosphere is elegant, the staff is attentive, the steak is sizzling and the food is impeccable. I think I paid more at Werner’s than the last time I went to Ruth Chris. The only difference is that I walked away from the latter feeling satisfied while I felt disappointed walking away from Werner’s. Won’t be returning. Overly priced and underwhelming.

My wife and I just came back for an anniversary dinner at Werner’s and we were more than overjoyed with or experience and the cost. We did not know what to expect when we arrived as the location is in a strip mall, as noted in other reviews. Inside there is only the open kitchen(you can see everything being prepared) and about 6 tables for dining. For the two hours we were there, there were only a total of five tables sat and served. Very surprising given the quality of the food. Let’s start off with the main event of the place, Chef Nedra. She came to our table and personally welcomed us to her establishment. It was a nice touch. She is very personable and down to earth. We started our meal off with the Spinach Fondue with garlic bread and it was outstanding. Anyone who has ever had down home creamed spinach will love this appetizer. My wife had their Arctic Char Salmon, which she allowed me to try off of her plate. The fish was fresh and incredibly seasoned. I had the 10oz. filet and given all the place we enjoy for fresh steaks, this cut was by far the best. It melted like butter with each bite. YUMM! We ended our meal with their Banana Foster, prepared table side by Chef Nedra. Tempura fried bananas with a whiskey sauce with fresh honey vanilla ice cream!!! Overall, great meal, great atmosphere and a place we will return time and time again. Please note, the overall dinner cost about $ 180 but we got a $ 75 gift certificate for $ 30 so that helped soften the blow. But, well worth the $ 180 without it.

The New Year’s Eve dinner was outrageously priced and not worth the money!!! Our check was $ 350 for only two people and the meal only included prime rib, a lobster tail, three strips of asparagus, two small red potatoes, and one cheesecake to share. The tea itself was $ 10.50 a glass. The restaurant was very extremely small and you could see the kitchen from the front door. The prime rib sat on a rack exposed and uncovered near the hallway that led to the bathroom. I DONOT recommend this place to anyone and will not be visiting ever again. I felt as though customers were definitely taken advantage of and the look on customer faces after receiving their bill were priceless. This should be against the law!!!

This place was not worth the money! I was deceived by their website. This place is located in a strip mall and so small of a place that I can see the dish washer from the entrance. The food was mediocre and they didn’t even have a menu which should have warned me. We end up with a bill of $ 300! The experience and food was not worth anything over $ 100 for the two of us! Way over priced. Will not be coming back.

Very underwhelmed! First of all, the menu appears to have been written by someone unfamiliar with the English language. Not sure exactly what they are trying to be; ornate décor, low lighting, with televisions mounted on both sides of the room. Since we were the only people there we asked if they would turn them off. The only restaurant I’ve ever been in with wall-to-wall plush carpet. Lobster wontons were filled with tasty cream cheese but no discernible lobster. The steamed mussels appeared to have been roasted rather than steamed. Arrived piled on a plate with globs of wine cream sauce drizzled on top. Shells were nearly impossible to open and the mussels were nothing but dried up strings. We sent them back. We were offered«flat» or sparkling water and chose«flat». When the bill came we discovered we were charged $ 12.50 for the 5 glasses! My sea bass was adequate and my sons steak was good, but we all agreed that the side dishes were the best part of the meal. Of course they were $ 7-$ 9 each, so they should have been! I don’t see how they can possibly stay in business.
