The service was very good and of course the Ambiance is fantastic. My wife had ordered the sea bass with risotto which was out of this world. I ordered the Father’s Day special bone in ribeye had a decent flavor but it was probably the toughest steak I have ever eaten and the creamed spinach had too many raw onions not that good. The steak should have been better since it is a steakhouse

I love this place. Great happy hour until 7 pm. Beyond wonderful food, amazing drinks, but the staff… Best staff in the industry. They remember your name, what you drink and tidbits of your life that you share with them. Matt, Cory, Fernando, Rachel are the epitome of grace under fire and when it isn’t so busy they are the most interactive people in the business. True professionals. Message to management: keep doing what you are doing, but last night a truck was broken into. Right in front of your building. Please install cameras or bring on security. This is my go to spot and seeing a vehicle broken into in broad daylight concerns me. I will think twice about stopping if I have items in my vehicle of value. If I have to go home to drop them off I will most likely not stop to eat. Don’t change how you do the ribeye. Thanks for the wonderful establishment.

We’re Chama Gaucha regulars so for our anniversary we decided to try something new. Our booth was huge and curtained off for privacy. Cody, our waiter, was very sweet, informative, funny and professional. Our chef assortment appetizer was amazing. Had we tasted it before placing our order we probably would have just ordered 2 more instead of entrees! We had the filet mignon and the king crab legs. The steak was cooked perfectly and cut like butter! The legs were huge, meaty and delicious! They comped us a yummy spice cake with ice cream that read happy anniversary in chocolate and even took our picture for us to take home! The service we received from Cody was just spectacular. Our evening was perfect!

To begin, Sam was our waiter. Respectful, pleasant and humorous, he actually listened to us(and remembered what we said throughout the meal). Rare, nowdays. My wife and I went to Kirby’s last night for her birthday. Was our first time there although we’ve been wanting to go for several years. Steak and lobster(both of us), loaded baked potatoes. She opted for the simple green salad and was very impressed with the mustard dressing. Instead of salad, I chose corn soup and I’m still thinking about it now. Super good! We shared crème brûlée and Bananas Foster — both were superb. We don’t often spend such a lot on dinner for just the two of us, but Lina’s birthday was special, and Kirby’s excellent steak and lobster made the experience worthwhile. Sam did a fine job of keeping the table organized, us entertained, and yet we were never interrupted.

Party of 9 people went to Kirbys last night. It was beyond wonderful. I had the prime filet that was so tender and cooked perfectly. Best steak I have ever had anywhere. Came with soup or salad. I had the salad and it was also delicious. Sour French bread is served and it was fresh and a real treat. It is very attractive inside. Dark with candles and low lighting. The service was outstanding. Drinks refilled constantly. It is not inexpensive but is so good and such a treat. No complaints.

The standards are much higher for this class of restaurant. To be sure, on ifs worst night it will wipe out 90% of the restaurants in town. It’s all very good. But for this tier — and for this cost — it’s merely above average. Dining room is comfortable but a little dark. Waitstaff is competent but underwhelming. Entrees are excellent, sides are disappointing. On this side of town, for this class of restaurant, Kirby’s is a good bet. Consistent and satisfying. If you’re lucky enough to catch the seafood tower on special, don’t pass it up.

So we have eaten there several times, always excellent food and service; this past Friday Night, service was good but obvious the kitchen was having issues we were there for nearly 2 ½ Hours it was way too long… Like 20 – 30 mins in between Appetizers, salads, the main dinner and deserts! And the music from the bar, not a good feature for A 5 star restaurant! My steak was excellent; However, my friends was way too charred. For the money it should have been a much better Meal.

Visited this restaurant during Culinaria. This is a great time to try restaurants with a tasting menu to experience a little of everything. Ordered mussels and at first came out cold but they served me a new dish and they were awesome(coldness forgiven). Ordered house red and white and they were delicious. Complimentary sourdough bread served warm is awesome had to stop myself or I wouldn’t be able to eat my dinner. Made a reservation which was necessary during Culinaria. My friends ordered shrimp fondue and it was superb. For main course the whole table ordered club strip steak and it was great. I decided to be different and ordered lamb shank and hate to say it but I would never order again. Very tender but to gamey for me I know some people enjoy but it’s just not for me. Panna cotta for desert was rich and delicious… would pass on Granny Smith Apple tasted like a great breakfast.

On this particular Thursday my Foodie in Crime and I decided to partake in San Antonio’s Restaurant Week. We tried our luck at Kirbys Steak House in Stone Oak, located off of 1604 and not the easiest location to get to at 1800 in Rush Hour traffic… but since Bestie got us a reservation we were seated immediately upon my arrival. Our Handsome and so ever attentive Waiter Bryan or(Brian) discussed every ingredient that was unknown to Bestie and I. He was delightful, pleasing and ever so charming. He recommended pairings and his favorites and was spot on. Our Appetizers were an assortment of the Cheese Fondue and Mussels(a bit smaller than I’m used to) and Bryan even let us use our Unilocal check in Free App and we also grabbed up the Juicy Snow Crab Claws.(Free.99) All items from the soft bread, to the piping hot apps hit the spot. Bestie dined on the Barramundi fish served atop corn and crab chowder and I devoured a juicy Medium Well 8 oz steak. What I would like to note is the particular team work among the staff. While Bryan was our waiter, several staff cleared our empty dishes and kept glasses filled. I mean as we looked up there was always a smiling face around to see if you needed anything and the Place was packed. The atmosphere was romantic and even the Managers were helping serve and assist the Wait Staff. Bestie’s fish was a bit undercooked and within minutes a Manager brought out a new flaky fish to perfection prepared by the head Chef. Our final treat of the night consisted of a Granny Smith Apple stuffed with Warm Granola and a creamy Caramel Panna Cotta desert was for me. The Service was excellent, the food was tasty and with the original prices I’m glad we were able to take advantage of so many options off of the Restaurant Week Menu. Highly recommended ~ Ms. Foodie

This place exceeding our expectations. Everything was delicious! You must order the lobster cargot appetizer. It is AMAZING!!! I had the medallion tenderloin with their three signature sauces. Delicious! My hubby had the top sirloin with mushrooms, a black truffle béarnaise sauce and topped with a fried egg. Wow! We were celebrating our anniversary so the waiter took our photo, brought us a complementary«happy anniversary» dessert and gave us a card wishing us a happy anniversary with a copy of our photo and a gift card. How awesome is that?

I literally headbutted that 10 oz medium rare steak and let my face marinate in the delicious juicyness for at least 30 minutes until I proceeded to deep throat it while covering my face with wickedly good and creamy mashed potatoes.

Went in last night for restaurant week. Everything was fantastic. The portobello caprese appetizer was so perfect, I could have eaten a few of those for the whole meal and been happy. Tried a bite of the scallops and they were amazing as well. The lamb shank was so tender you didn’t need a knife, it just fell off the bone. My friend had mash potatoes and I totally see why they call them their«signature mashed potatoes» I could eat wayyyyy too much of those suckers without even trying. I really liked my flan-type dessert too! One of the guys at the table ordered the crab legs and OHMAN those things were outstanding and the way they serve them takes out all the work so BRAVO! Service was prompt and very friendly. Our server said he is normally the bartender, but due to high volume had to take tables and I’m glad he did! He kept our drink service seamless and did a little something special at the end even though we had kept him after closing without realizing it! Really enjoyed it, glad we tried it, we will be back.

Great atmosphere, great service, and great food! I came here with a group of 7 people on a Friday night for Restaurant Week. The menu offered to us was really top-notch for the $ 35 deal. Their normal menu seems to be displayed on iPads, so each table gets one. The decoration inside is very classy and tasteful, but the lighting is a bit dim, so be prepared to squint or to use the small candle on the table. The staff were all pretty friendly, and the service was fast and efficient. Food: **TIP: if you check-in on Unilocal, you get a free appetizer! Calamari: Pretty good; I got this appetizer for free after checking in on Unilocal, which made it that much more delicious. It isn’t as crispy as other places, but still what you would expect. Seared Scallops: Also an appetizer, and it came with pesto on a bed of spinach. This was probably my favorite dish of the night! The scallops were seared really well, and I loved the pesto that they used. NY Strip: I ordered my steak medium rare, and I think it came out a bit too rare. However, I wasn’t too bothered by this. I did feel that the meat wasn’t as well seasoned as it could have been, and the texture of the steak was a bit strange(some parts were hard like biting into tendon, other parts were really chewy.) Strawberry Mojito Sundae: YUM! This was also a really great dish. I love ice cream though, so I’m very biased. But I felt like the mojito balanced out the sugary ice cream really well, and this was a really huge sundae. Sinatra Smash: I ordered this cocktail; it was a mixture of vanilla, blueberries, and bourbon. I found it to be really strong(which was great after a couple sips), but if you don’t like really sweet with strong bourbon taste, then don’t order this.

Best steak I’ve ever eaten! Yes, started out with the potato crusted calamari and ur was superb. Light, crispy and tender, not chewy or oily at all. Even had some tomato peppers cut and fried in there too, mildly spicy and great accompaniment to the calamari she sauce. Next was salad and warm sourdough bread, crusty and chewy light it should be with whipped, spreadable butter. The house creamy garlic dressing is to die for, on top of the usual steak house iceberg salad. You’re not missing out by avoiding the lobster bisque, not thick and creamy. The very nice waitress took it off the bill for us. 18 ounces of mesquite cold smoked ribeye cooked to medium rare perfection. This is why we are here!!! Perfect char on the outside, rested to juicy perfection and served with a smile. The cream brûlée is to die for: boom. Drinks: the bartender has the best ingredients at his fingertips and knows how to use them, even real amarena cherries. Eat here: love it.
