Fantastic hibachi. Service is good and getting better each time we visit. Already planning our next night out to «The volcano restaurant» as our kids call it.

Yummy. We had sashimi plates & kids chicken. It was all excellent. The pieces of tuna were huge!

We had our department Christmas dinner here and the food was fantastic! We had a total party of 13 and 2 chefs. The chefs were very entertaining and accommodating to our various requests for the number of people we had. We will definitely be back there with our individual families!

This was a very pleasant surprise. Though service was a bit slow during the lunch hour, I went hear with two co-workers, and I think we all walked away happy. One of the few downsides was that we had to wait a pretty decent amount of time for a chef. I guess they don’t always have one waiting during the lunch hour? Whatever the case, it was smooth sailing once the man showed up. I’ve eaten at similar restaurants quite a bit in many different areas, and I’m pleased to say that this particular place hosted one of the best chefs I’ve had the pleasure of seeing in action. He had quite a few tricks up his sleeve that I hadn’t seen before, mixed in with several«classics» like the onion volcano. And the food was delicious! The fried rice fresh off of the flat-top was especially good. The steak was tender and well-seasoned, but it’s easy to do that when garlic butter is flying all over the place. I think my only other minor gripe was the sauces served with the entrees. I’m not sure exactly what the deal was, but they weren’t quite what I was used to in either flavor or consistency. A little watery, and a little off on the flavor? I’m not sure, but really, it’s a pretty minor deal. Bring on more chefs as talented as the ones you have now, and keep the awesome flavors coming, and this place will thrive!

Family dinner out and our first time here. This place is delish! My hubby had the blackened and seared tuna, my son ordered the cowboy roll, my daughter and I got the teriyaki chicken. Everything was thigh sticking good. I can’t wait to come back

I only come here for sushi happy hour. The price is freaking fantastic for the amount of food you get. The food is delicious and it’s a great place to sit with Friends and relax.

Food is very good, but the place is not appealing and clean at all. It is filthy, and smells like rancid oil. It is a pitty, because love the type of food.

Possibly the best sushi I’ve ever had. I ordered the Texas Roll which is fried + jalapeños, tuna and spicy crab mix topping, and tempura flakes. It was the biggest role I’ve ever had. First time I’ve ever been full off one role of sushi. The roll was about $ 15 but well worth it since I saved by buying the Groupon. For dessert my cousin ordered the tempura ice cream and mango and green tea mochi. Both were great. Make sure to purchase the Groupon!

I have been here a couple of times. Once for dinner and once for lunch. I was pleased both times. Both times I had the teppanyaki and it was delicious! The chicken, vegetables and fried rice were all well seasoned and cooked perfectly. The food was fresh, delicious and it was served hot. I have not tried the sushi, but each time I went my companions had the sushi and enjoyed it very much. The waitstaff was very friendly, but if you are going at lunch plan ahead. It can take a little longer than your normal lunch spot.

I’ve been to this little restaurant twice now — once on a date night with my husband and once for lunch with one of my girlfriends. Both times I was not too impressed. The device at night was better than lunch, but not by much. You have the option of sitting at a table or at the grill. The first time I we sat at a table in the main dining area. We had a pretty good server, but he had a problem with making strange comments on our food choices, and never remembered anything we asked him for. I ordered the seafood ramen and it was just okay. It lacked flavor and was drowned in chives. The second time we sat at the grill & ordered sushi & hibachi chicken. The sushi took forever, so they gave us free edamame! That was a plus. However, the chicken was overcooked, the rice had veggies even though we asked them to cut it, & the server was nowhere to be found for most of the meal — so, again, no drink refills. Their food is alright, and priced well, but I will likely not eat her again.

If you are craving for some Japanese-Tex(patent pending :)), this is a good place to try. I would say, my biggest complaint would be that the place was a little too dark and depressing for me, and that the medieval armor décor didn’ t really jibe with the Samurai theme. But if that’s the only thing I have to say about it, then it must be really decent, now, wouldn’t it? Yep, If I’m in the area and I’m craving some yakimeshi, I’d definitely give this one a go.

San Antonio’s best sushi/teppenyaki restaurant, hands down. If you’re in the market for exquisite, handmade sushi, the Sapporo roll and the crawfish roll are as close as you can get to heaven without the pesky issue of actually dying. The Yakisoba is also spectacular, and the portions are big. The dinner plates come with miso soup and a wonderful salad, and the meat choices are plentiful. I have a serious addiction to this place and it is absolutely my favorite restaurant. FYI, they always have good Groupon specials, so check there before you head out, as they are a bit pricey(well worth the money).

For all special occasions you have to order off the special menu. It is identical to the standard menu but double the price. My 8 year old would have been $ 15.95 for a meal that is normally $ 8 on any other day of the year. That’s shady and a disgusting practice. We won’t be back if that’s how you think of your customers.

Coming from Virginia, I had high standards. They were exceeded easily. Ribeye and scallops were cooked to perfection. Our chef John was awesome!

The sushi here is by far the best part of the place. The Tuna Tower was delicious, and there was a huge portion for the price! My family and I were in town for the week, and decided to stop in here based on some Yalp reviews. We wanted the teppanyaki experience for our boys, and fortunately the place was not busy(Tuesday night), so we had a teppan table to ourselves. Our waitress was Sun. She was a very pretty Korean woman, going to school there in San antonio. My wife is Korean, so they hit it off. Sun was a wonderful waitress, and a very sweet girl. She made sure that we had everything we needed, and checked on us continuously(yet was not overbearing). She definitely was a great addition to this restaurant. Our teppan chef was kind of a dissapointment. First off, and this will sound SOO bad, but he wasn’t even Asian. I know, you are thinking I am a jerk for thinking this, but maybe I have just been spoiled in the past with all my pervious teppanyaki chefs being asian. Now I guess I just expect that. But the worst part was, it was obvious that he did not want to be there. At the start of his«performance» he did some cool tricks with his cooking utensils. He was very skilled. However, this was the extent of the etertaining portion of the meal. After the chef finished his knife tricks, he began cooking the food. There was little to no interaction between himself and my family at the table. He chatted a bit, but also made some comments about wanting to be done for the evening. This kind of put a damper on the whole meal. As far as the food goes, the meat was well cooked, yet the fried rice and vegetables were kinda of just okay. Definitely not among the best teppan meals I have enjoyed. One more thing that kind of ruins this place is the manager. He is an elderly asian man, an it is obvious he runs the place. Although he did check on us a few times, and was polite, he was very rude to his employees, especially our waitress Sun. She was really working her butt off, and there were times he would come out from the back and bark at her to do something. It was really unprofessional, and disrespectful to Sun. Although Sun was a wonderful server, I don’t think we would go back due to the hostile environment created by the manager, as well as the apathetic attitude of the teppan chef we encountered.

We stopped here after a trip to Costco to try out their Happy Hour Sushi. So worth it! The gyoza appetizer was tasty. You can order fried or steamed gyoza. The salmon nigiri was fresh, fatty and thick! I wish I ordered more. We were able to switch out smoked salmon for fresh salmon in our philly roll and the spicy mayo(they bring it to you on the side) made the philly roll extra delicious. The spicy tuna was good too but the fresh salmon was hands down, the winner. Our total bill for two people with 1 iced tea(1 water), gyoza, miso soup and a variety of happy hour sushi was under $ 25. The servers were all very courteous and helpful.

My girlfriend loves Teppenyaki so here we came after I got off work one day. I have spectacular intuition and just walking through the door, even Stevie Wonder could see this place would not meet my standards. It smelled«funny» for lack of a better descriptor and the place was pretty dead. All in all, my expectations hit rock bottom and I started to question whether or not I’d be running for the Jon later but decided I’d keep my worries to myself since I’m a food snob at times and my gf really wanted to give the place a go. We were seated promptly, they took our orders in a timely fashion and drinks were brought out in a jiffy. Things were looking up for a moment, but for only the briefest of moments. Our chef came out and boy did he seem wet behind the ears! It looked like he was fresh out of his training class with the lack of usual pizazz one comes to expect of hibachi. He was a fish out of water, a comedian who forgot his punch line and I seemed to be the only one to take notice. That being the case, I did not voice these observations to my gf and tried to make lemonade from lemons. Our chef did however decide to go generous on the portions(+1) and even hooked me up with some meat from a different platter. The food was alright, nothing to write home about, portions were on the hefty side and the tab was slightly less than we expected which was a nice surprise. For me this was a typical«meh» experience that had me wishing I’d busted out my wok and had a Crack at it myself at home.
