My complaint isn’t about the restaurant, but about the staff — my waitress in particular. My boyfriend and I came in excited about the ramen. I ordered the Spicy miso ramen and he got the Sato specialty Shabu-shabu. The ramen was pretty good, but the shabu-shabu wasn’t as great. We asked for it at the spiciest they offer it and it had no heat. The waitress seemed shocked to see a white man ordering such a spicy dish and I doubt she told the cook to prepare it as ordered because she thought he couldn’t handle the heat. Also, when we asked about peanuts, she didn’t seem to understand peanut allergies are something to be careful with in asian restaurants. She seemed mildly dim-witted, but for some reason thought we were the idiots. The restaurant seems really nice, but the service was a huge turn off.

This place is pretty good. I get the Teriyaki Shrimp here. It’s pretty good, I’ve had better, but it’s definitely not bad. It is a good quick meal to have.

Very delicious establishment with a good selection of food choices. They specialize in Japanese cuisine and the one thing that really stands out is their presentation. They not only put a lot pd emphasis on their restaurant presentation, but they do a very good job in their food presentation as well. For an appetizer we got the shumai dumplings as well as the takoyaki. The shumai dumplings were about average, however the takoyaki was VERYDELICIOUS! It was a ball filled with octopus bits has a nice mayo based sauce on top. There is another sauce on top that complemented the mayo well as well fish flakes on top. Again, VERYDELICIOUS and a must try, and trust me you will not be disappointed. For our entrees we got the Katsu Don and the Beef Sukiyaki. The Katsu Don was a chicken cutlet that was deep friend a season with veggies on top of white rice. It was pretty good, the katsu was a bit soggy from the sauce, but that is to be expected. The Beef Sukiyaki was very good as well and a very large portion. You get a large pot with a flavorful whitish broth with udon noodles, beef, cabbage, mushroom, tofu, and potatoes. Everything worked cohesively together, and was jammed pack with flavor. A must try establishment with all kinds of wonderful selections to choose from. I will be coming back often whenever I visit JMU in the future.

This bistro was really excellent! The service was phenomenal and the environment is very warm and inviting. The waitress was extremely helpful, answering my questions and offering her opinions on appetizers as well as recommending my dish, which was excellent! I really appreciate her help at our time here. In addition, the good was phenomenal. The sushi was fantastic. I ordered the Dragon roll, and the shrimp tempura was crunchy and crisp, and the mayo sauce was just fantastic. You have many options here and I doubt you could go wrong with the menu. Highly recommend! Much thanks to the waitress!

Sat down, was not informed they are out of soba until ordering. Got another 5 minutes to decide and it turns out the next thing I ordered, labeled«Japanese noodle,» is also soba. Very disappointed.

Went here with my son on a mother son food night and I enjoyed my meal and my some was over the moon in love with it. We ordered the Dynamite Roll, NY Steak Roll, and Shrimp fried rice. Both of the rolls were fairly spicy but tasted absolutely phenomenal! The service was fine and I would recommend this to anyone who likes sushi.

Finally got to try this amazing restaurant, the service was very good, given it was a Thrusday, the pork dumplings are the best I have ever eaten in this area, I had the spider roll and the eel and avocado roll, the spider roll just reminded me of fresh soft shells from the eastern shore, how I miss them. The food is the best in the area and will be back, highly recommended this for«date night«or quiet evening with the one you love, reasonably priced… 5 stars

Amazing! I tried the beef ShabuShabu, and it is quite possibly one of the best meals I have ever eaten. Look no further for the best Japanese food in the area. Will be back soon for the sushi.

Probably the best Asian food Harrisonburg will ever get. The atmosphere and setting is very nice(good place to have a date). Their sushi is amazing and at a very reasonable price. Their shabu shabu is pretty good and comes with a spice scale so you can adjust your spice level!(my favorite is the extreme spice) Only downside is that the spices are very spicy so you should go up the spice scale. The ramen is pretty good and the portions are HUGE. Definitely worth your money. I got the Kimchi ramen and they did not use Shin ramen, their broth was homemade. Would definitely recommend this place to friends and would definitely come back again!

Heard great things about this place whenever come to Harrisonburg and I thought maybe I should try it out. I’m glad I came here. When i came in i really like the layout of the place. The service here was very welcoming great first impression. This place is good for friends and family. Nice soothing music playing in the background. The food here are pretty tasty, I enjoy the ShabooShaboo soup(considering if you like spicy) and the cheesecake taste like doughnuts.
