Good food, the portions are a good value and the restaurant is always very clean. Nick and Rebecca and all of the staff are friendly and always helpful.

They took forever to make my sub. I had an hour lunch and spent 30 minutes waiting for my sub. I understand if the business was busier than normal but this is about the 3rd time I have had this experience. They do not say«welcome to firehouse» when entering the building as they do at other firehouse subs. This last visit they actually messed up another customer’s order while I was waiting and then made the customer out to be the bad guy. They didn’t have her name for the order, didn’t wrap it to go, and then were adamant that the customer was wrong. I’m not one to say a customer is always right but, you know, the customer is 100% the reason you are there to begin with. I will never return to this firehouse after witnessing how they treat paying customers. If you don’t respect my money and my right to choose where I spend it, I sure won’t spend it here.

One of the better Italian subs I’ve ever had, although that’s probably closely related to the fact that it seems to be the highest-calorie sandwich they offer. Probably shouldn’t be a regular habit, but good for an occasional indulgence.

Service is great and the subs are always delicious! Kind of expensive but definitely better than Subway or Quizno’s

Gosh, service was slow. I swear my husband waited a solid 10 minutes for our subs to be ready. Other than that — reasonably priced subs with a good amount of meat and toppings. Good selection of subs — I had the«hook and ladder» and my husband had the steak and cheese. The lemon cookies are excellent. The restaurant was a good size, brightly lit and clean. Parking, as Mike P. said, is a bit annoying(weird lot configuration). I’d say that after this experience I prefer Firehouse to Quizno’s or Subway and it is a good option for a quick meal for a JMU tailgate.

Just got back from Firehouse Subs. I has the Chedder brisket sub and it was pretty good. My wife and son each had the steak and cheese which they also said was pretty good. The location isn’t so good and the parking is limited. As my son said, I wouldn’t go out of my way to eat there.
