Can’t recommend Olympia. The food is bad, the place is dirty, and it seems unsafe to eat there. I used to eat at Olympia every couple of weeks back in the 90s, when my wife was going to college downtown. Either my standards were lower then, or the food was better… Went there for the first time in ages and the experience was B A D. Talk about poor presentation. my Mousaka looked like a cow had an accident on a plate. Tasted bland and greasy. I love Mousaka, I know how it’s supposed to look and taste in a typical average Greek restaurant… this one stood out, and not in a good way. The restaurant didn’t look clean, either. The tables were poorly cleaned with a greasy towel. There was dropped food on the floor. The dishes were poorly washed and my glass of water had something stuck to it from the dishwasher. Asked the waiter — or was it the bus boy? — to bring me a new glass, he brought one from the dishwasher and then proceeded to wipe it off in front of me with a very dirty looking towel hanging off his belt. He was genuinely trying to be helpful, and judging by his very limited English, must’ve just recently come from Greece, so can’t hold it against him — but there must be someone running this place who should make sure it’s not a health hazard !

Greek salad was disappointing and gyro was so-so.

My braised lamb was good… oddly though of the 3 pieces, 2 were excellent and tender, one was tough and dry, not so sure about that. It was a nice, filling meal though.

Go to Pegasus instead, its as simple as that. The food was kinda cold and not really appetizing. It was a super busy night, but the waiter kinda sucked. In an OK location, but you can do better at any other restaurant in the area.

It’s 4am and you just wasted all your money at the Casino. Or maybe it’s 1pm and you need a place to relax before you get back to work. Either way(or somewhere in between), you can stop by Olympia. It’s open 24 hours, which is always a plus in my eyes. A few times I have come here when I am tired of eating coney islands in the middle of the night. Here, I usually enjoy a Greek salad with chicken and a side of fries. They always offer a hearty meal, and the prices are roughly $ 15 or less. The ambiance is cool, with Greek music playing throughout the restaurant.
