What a great place! Wonderful birthday celebration– outstanding service from Brad. He had great recommendations and was efficient and friendly. We enjoyed the appetizers — polenta fries and Brussel sprouts. Entrees were great– macaroni, fish and chips, burgers– all delicious and crispy fries! Owner Matt stopped by and was charming and catered to my toddler. His enthusiasm was refreshing. First time visit and definitely would recommend. Truly appreciate the excellent customer service.

It is nice, been a few time for drinks with freinds. Good size tables for larger groups, the build your own bloody marry bar is interesting. In the back they have board games and arcade machines and pin ball. I enjoyed the Brussel sprouts with peanuts and it’s a little spicy.

First time at Bobcat Bonnie’s and came to celebrate my sisters Bday. We had 6 in our party including a very social 3 year old! They don’t take reservations but were sat immediately. Ambiance was nice and restaurant seemed full for a Monday night which was nice to see. Our server was Brad… Very knowledgeable about the food and drink menu, quick with suggestions and prompt, friendly service throughout our meal. The delightful owner also stopped by our table several times to check in. We had Polenta Fries and Kung Pao Brussels Sprouts to start… Very good! Mac and Cheese with tofu, fish and chips, mushroom French dip, burger and fries… Everyone’s food was hot, cooked just right and delicious! Many drinks were consumed and they even let us bring Bday Cake! Definitely will be back!

My family was looking for something new to try today and this is the place we selected. First impression, kinda hip and cool, not too crazy. I thought it looked like Uncle Percy’s basement at first. Some cool Detroit Tiger stuff on the walls… some pinball machines. Our server was no speed demon, but he was ok. No real complaints here, we weren’t in a big hurry. The food — surprisingly good. My wife had some soup which came luke warm and she thought it was«yesterday’s», so she was not impressed with that. My son’s wife had the eggs benedict and she didn’t think much of it. But this review is about MY opinion, so here we go. I had some kind of Chef’s potatoes which were like breakfast potatoes covered with cheese and mixed with all kinds of vegetables covered with a special seasoning. It was wonderful. I was delighted. My son had the SOS potatoes which is basically biscuits and gravy with potatoes and he said his was wonderful too! My wife had a huge salad which looked great! All in all, I see this as a pretty good option for food. I’d definitely go back !!!

Food: 5 stars(for the price) Had the captain crunch French toast, side of bacon, Cinnamon role for the table, $ 3 mimosas Service: 3 stars(2 stars for the price) Our food took a lot longer than expected to come out but it was a busy day. I won’t hold that against the restaurant. It was our waitress who I wouldn’t say wasn’t friendly but didn’t seem like she wanted to be there or wanted us to be there. Out of every restaurant I came to while on my NAIAS trip this was the only restaurant where I didn’t feel like staying and enjoying the atmosphere and energy. Will I come back next year? Probably not.

This review is based solely on drinks. I had the winterberry mojito. Absolutely delicious. Fresh mint and berries. The only thing that weirded/grossed me out is that the bartender was using bare hands to get the berries out of a jar and put them into my glass. Not sure how clean his hands were. But the drink was still good

Ever see«coming to America»? The joke about waiter… Taste the soup? Terrible service. 30 minutes after ordering received 1⁄3 of our order. Turns out the polenta fries were gone, unsure how this was discovered 30 minutes after we ordered. The Brussel sprouts were warm at best. No silverware. Waiter said he would bring them, twenty minutes went by without him bringing silverware. When we reminded him he apologized as if it wasn’t a big deal that we had warm food(now cold) without silverware. He also seemed to forget the tika masala which we finally got after about an hour. Still here having a few drinks with friends. Curious if the bill will take consideration the obviously terrible service. I mean how does a waiter forget the silverware AND the food AND not realize they are out of something we ordered for 30 minutes.

Tried Bobcat Bonnie’s for the first time last night and it was pretty disappointing. As others have mentioned, the service is pretty slow. When we arrived there was a gentleman ahead of us waiting to be seated who eventually left because no one ever came. After maybe 10 minutes of waiting some one eventually came over and sat us. At first glance the menu looks pretty good and I was torn between several different choices, but in the end I ordered my go to meal, a french dip and onion rings. The onion rings were very disappointing, they looked amazing but were extremely lacking in the flavor. The french dip was ok, the pretzel bread was tasty but otherwise it was nothing to write home about.

Delicious! Cute! Mimosas! I took a friend out here for a celebratory lunch(new job, applause applause). We had a great time and a great meal. The mimosa/Bloody Mary bar was a ton of fun and, at $ 3, we had a couple rounds of fun. All the food that came out of the kitchen looked amazing, but we opted for the mushroom hash. Yum! I got poached eggs and she got over easy on top. It doesn’t come with eggs but I really think this dish wouldn’t be substantial enough and would be too dry without it. With the eggs — divine. The poached eggs were perfectly cooked. And, the goat cheese added a wonderful tangy creaminess. I hope to be back soon for more fruity mimosas and to try the goat cheese balls.

Hi my name is Lara Slaughter and I have an addiction to the Mushroom Dip Sandwich served at Bobcat Bonnie’s! Today was my third day in a row of enjoying this amazing sandwich. The jus that is paired with it is phenomenal! It is by far the most flavorful and delicious sandwich I’ve ever had. Vegetarian, or not you’ll love this! My son had the Brisket and loved it! He had some of my Mushroom Dip as well and he(a dyed in the wool meat-a-tarian!) was hooked! So much so that he ordered it today! The Fried Goat Cheese, as well as the Hummus Duo are also standouts! All that aside, you can have the greatest food, at affordable prices, amazing cocktails, great décor, but if you don’t have the«Goods» none of that matters at all! By Goods I mean a staff that delivers great and attentive service, and an owner who really cares about his customers and their experience in his place… Bobcat Bonnie’s has all that in spades! My first visit the proprietor Matthew went out of his way to fix me a dish that was no longer available at the time I came in(a sinful cinnamon roll baked in a black iron skillet)…that right there is what got me… cause he just showed me he, his staff and his restaurant have the Goods! P. S. Don’t even get me started on the game room! Do yourself a solid and just GO!

I was psyched to try BB’s out, but ended up a little disappointed. Service wasn’t awful, but we only saw our waitress twice. Everything was brought out right, so we didn’t need her much anyhow, no big deal. I liked the mimosa juice flavors, which made brunch more fun, but my food was nothing more than okay. I got the wild mushroom hash, a bunch of potatoes more or less. That is what I ordered, though, so I should have expected as much, but there could’ve been more to it. The cheese & herbs on top were delicious, more should be added! I also had to add a bunch of salt & pepper(& garlic once I got home). My friends’ options were also okay, but nothing exceptional. One friend got a regular, run of the mill breakfast & another got eggs Benedict, which she only had half of. Neither were raving about their choices. We were all happy about the reasonable prices, though. I thought it would be packed on a Saturday morning, but we got there within the first hour of opening & it wasn’t bad. I don’t think I would check out brunch again, but will be back to try dinner! The menu still intrigues me

We were a party of four for lunch and we all thought our food was no more than okay and the service was friendly but very slow. I had the Lunch combo with the veggie wrap and green chili stew which were both tasty but not«amazingly good.» The Cap’n Crunch fried chicken and the burger were okay and the onion rings were bland and greasy. The back room is filled with video games and pinball machines so we spent half of our lunch listening to that noise.

Came here today with some old college friends for brunch. I’ve been to a few Corktown places now but have yet to do brunch. We had a group of 6 adults and 1 child so we did have a bit of a wait, maybe 20 – 30 minutes. Would have been shorter if we wanted a high top table but that wouldn’t have worked(personally, I’m not a huge fan of high top tables anyways, so that was fine with me). The fried goat cheese balls looked amazing but I was trying to be kind to my stomach today so I got the goat cheese, wild mushroom, and potato hash($ 8.50). You get a lot of food for the price, although I was hungry again a few hours later. A few of us also got mimosas which was pretty inventive, you get just the champagne and go up to a bar area to add juices, garnishes, and fruits. They also have a Bloody Mary bar. Best part: it’s only $ 3 per glass(great deal!). I’d like to come back here to try the goat cheese app and also a different brunch dish. One of my friends got this Israeli tomato torte or sorts and it was a little spicy and delicious — I think I’d try that. Waitservice was okay, our waitress was nice but it took a while for another friend to receive a side dish she ordered(fries). Also thanks for the tip on parking(yeah Unilocalers!) — there’s indeed a lot in the back, which was easier than finding parking on the street.

Bobcat Bonnie’s is one of my new favorite places in Detroit. In what presents itself as a sort of divey atmosphere, it kind of reminds me of Green Dot in that it sort of classes itself up and separates itself from a dive in and of itself. It’s technically deemed a gastropub — and for good reason: there are many beers on tap. They also have many cocktails on the menu, so nobody is being denied their alcohol! The drinks are all very good, from porters(Greenbush Distorter) to IPA’s to gin & tonics. The menu seems small at first glance, but then you realize it’s pretty adequate and there is something for everyone — meat eaters, vegetarians and everyone in between. They have sides(fries, onion rings), shareables(which are what they sound like) and one-person meals(like lamb ragu). The GF got the fish tacos, which had Mahi Mahi and a Chipotle sauce on them — woah! Some of the best fish tacos ever, and I’ve had my fair share. The sauce and the fish presented a spicy kick, and they give you three full tortillas. Excellent. And the tortilla soup is a great side item for the tacos — also above average. I ordered the Bulgogi Beef Sliders, which are marinated ribeye, kimchi and wasabi mayo for $ 9. You get three sliders and, yes, it’s more than enough for one person. Since I was super hungry, I ordered a side of onion rings. HOLY. CRAP. The onion rings here are instantly in my top 2 – 3 ever, along with those at Red Coat Tavern. The rings here are actually bigger, believe it or not, and pack a punch. I’m kind of salivating right now just thinking about them… They also have specials all week: Monday burger night, Tuesday $ 1 beer bottles, Wednesday trivia with Bud Light pitchers, Happy Hour Thursdays and brunch/mimosa bars on weekend brunches. There’s really nothing not to like about this place. The service is excellent, the atmosphere is perfect for intimate settings, or for groups, or for singles just wanting to catch the game at the bar. The food is top notch and will make you come back for more. Also, parking is great — and free in the back! Do yourself a favor and come here…

I only went in for take out(Cap’n Crunch Chicken Tender), but I ate and saw more than enough to feel the need to go back, and go back soon. The place take a no frills approach to decoration, that gives it a nice divey feel. They also appear to have a nice selection of draft beers and arcade games in the back. As for the chicken tenders, I have to say I was very impress. I honestly got them for the novelty, but after tasting them, I have to say they are damn good. The breading is like chicken fingers dipped in corn dog batter, but crispier and slightly caramelized. I will definitely go back and yet another reason to check out the scene in Corktown.

Yesss! $ 3 build your own bloody mary’s and $ 3 build your own mimosa’s during brunch on Saturday and Sunday along with amazing happy hour prices! My checkbook loves Bobcat Bonnie’s and my tummy does as well! They have an interesting menu with some unique dishes alongside staple bar foods and brunch items. They are reasonably priced if you can catch happy hour. My daughter’s Captain Crunch french toast was amazing! My fried goat cheese balls where amazing! and I look forward to sampling more off of their menu.

The menu is oddly fantastic and I was excited to try it. I sampled quite a few things with one of my friends just so I wasn’t being an entire pig by my lonesome.(1) Deep Fried Olives: Stuffed olives with BBQ chip batter. Salty deliciousness. I couldn’t get enough. I would have loved to have a dipping sauce to go with these tho.(2) Deviled Eggs: Beet Pickled then Deviled, Tarragon, Dill, and Paprika. I love me some deviled eggs(no one can beat my Aunt Mary’s), however I did not care for these. I think the beet pickling ruined it for me.(3) Kung Pao Brussels: Garlic, Ginger, Chili, Peanuts. Whoo wee! These are damn good and spicy, just the way I like it. They were small, crunchy, made my nose run, and totally worth it.(4) Chicken Tiki Masala: Chicken, Tomatoes, Garlic, Ginger, etc. This was absolutely fabulous. I would eat this again in a heartbeat.(5) Fish Tacos: Corn tortillas, Lime, Cilantro Crema, Jicama Cabbage Slaw. We got them grilled not fried. I did enjoy these immensely. The cilantro cream sauce threw me off tho, I love cilantro but this sauce tasted more like tzatziki. I would have loved a stronger sauce to accompany this with. Believe me, I was more than full after inhaling all of this goodness. The bartender was FANTASTIC and most friendly. He was working the room with great ease and calmness. The beers were yum and plentiful. I will most definitely be back here.

I’ve been here a few times and this time it was a disappointment. The first couple of times the service was pretty good. Loved the lamb meatballs, chicken fingers, and sausage. The goat cheese balls are ok – just eat them while they’re hot! The buffalo chicken sandwich came out super tough and burnt. I wasn’t sure if that was the norm, but I was so hungry I didn’t have the patience or time to bring it up to my waitress. The sandwich was so big that no matter how hard I pressed it, my mouth couldn’t get around it. So I had to eat my sandwich with a fork and knife. Yay, more work. Lol, I’m hungry, I don’t wanna be working for my food! This time, I ordered the Lamb ragu and a side of onion rings. The waiter said the ragu was really great. Honestly, I could make this at home – it was nothing special and didn’t blow me away. Not just that, but my dish came out cold! Ugh. I hate sending my food back, but it was so cold that I had to ask them to re-heat it. It doesn’t end there. They bring me back my dish and it’s still not hot. Ok. I’ll just eat barely warm pasta. I’ll live. The onion rings were extremely oily – as if it was cooked at a really low temperature and soaked up all the oil. If I were to ever come back, here’s what I’d order: chicken fingers, sausage, and lamb meatballs. For drinks, the ginger is my favorite. All in all, I’m in no rush to come back. If I ever come back, I hope it’ll be a different and improved experience. Cheers!

Another Corktown success! Came here in search of happy hour and stumbled upon«Burger night». For $ 10 you can choose from one of 5 burgers that comes with fries AND a draft beer! This is an epic deal considering most of the burgers are $ 11 on their own from the regular menu. We did start with some cocktails, which are $ 5 during happy hour. I had the berry mojito, fresh and delicious with muddled berries and mint. My significant other had«The Bonnie», made with moonshine… this deadly concoction will definitely put hair on your chest. Both of our burgers were cooked to perfection and promptly consumed. Fries were crispy and served in a more than average helping. Our server was welcoming and took the time to tell us about the specials and the menu items. I am dying to come here and check out their brunch, just take a gander at the mimosa and Bloody Mary bar pics from other users… yes please!

Meant to come here yesterday for the opening but got here today. Was greeted with a smile and a hello and decided to sit at the bar. The bartenders were more than helpful and friendly. They gave me their favorite food and drink recommendations from the menu. We decided to get the bobcat burger and the lamb meatballs to share. Both of the dishes were fantastic and perfectly prepared. The barbecue sauce smothered the burger and added tanginess to the breading on the onion rings. The lamb meatballs came with a sort of chimichurri sauce for dipping that was packed with flavor. Would highly recommend them. The only critique I have is getting a heartier bun for the burger because it ended up falling apart halfway through eating. Not a big deal. Parking is everywhere along the street and on the side corridors. This place is centered in the heart of corktown and features a small room of pinball machines and arcade games. Their cocktail menu was very creative but not so over the top as to deter someone that isn’t a liquor provocateur. Their draft list was a good size, I ended up having a peanut butter chocolate nitro which was smooth and creamy. They are going to do brunch on weekends with 3 dollar mimosas and bloody bar which is exciting. Their happy hour 4 – 7 features $ 5 appetizers, cocktails, and $ 4 drafts. Not bad. Burger Monday’s are from 5pm to close and you can get a burger, fries, and a beer for 10 bucks. Can’t beat that! Overall: a great relaxed pub atmosphere and a solid addition to a booming restaurant row in Corktown. I’m excited to see what they do in the future.
