Worst«dinner» I’ve had in a long time. I ordered the«steak frites” – was in a hurry or I would have sent them back. 14 dollars for six, quarter-sized minute steak bites with a small dollop of butter, cold with old fries that had parmesan over them – old, crusty-and did I say cold? Bad service, bad food. Never, ever again.

Cheap drinks and a fun atmosphere = it’s a recipe for success. A couple of us stopped here on a Saturday night after dinner at Bobcat Bonnie’s(which is right next door). The moment you walk in you realize what kind of place it is: a dive, with fun clientele. The drinks are flowing — and they are cheap! My Jim Beam on the rocks was actually cheaper than a Perrin IPA pint, so that was awesome. They actually had more drafts on tap than I expected, including hard cider, IPA’s and your usual domestics. The ages of those inside vary. You’ll see anyone from age 21 to age 75, and everyone is having a good time. The jukebox is the real MVP of this place, though. People are jammin’ and gettin’ down. As the bartender said, «You never know what’s going to happen in this place.» That’s a good tagline. Bring some friends and get sloppy, you’ll be glad you did and nobody will judge you for doing so.

Small little spot on Michigan Ave. Came here after McShanes to get a drink and check out another great spot in Detroit. Variety of ages in here, which was nice. Small bar, great staff. There was a Dj last night, he was not too loud & playing decent music. I’ve never ordered any food from here but I wouldn’t mind coming back for round 2.

This review is for the ‘2015 Metro D 10-Alarm Chili Challenge’ held by Casey’s(in support of the Detroit Fireman’s Benevolent Fund and Detroit Police Benefit & Protective Association), hosted by Fox2’s Charlie LeDuff, Grace Keros & Dean«Dino» Bach. Fox2’s Jason Carr and Taryn Asher were also in attendance and the Metro Detroit Police and Fire Pipes & Drums did the honors of ceremoniously opening the event. Love me some bagpipes, :) . Awesome event, anytime you can combine chili and fundraising, it’s a win-win, IMO. A dozen or more teams from Detroit, the suburbs and Windsor all vying for your vote and the title, ’10-Alarm Chili Champ’. Not a single bad chili in the bunch, from this taster’s point of view, but there can be only one. So you pay your cover and you basically get unlimited access to sample all the chili you want, for as long as you want, :) … and like I said, there ain’t no bad chili at these type of things. This is serious business. You get a red ticket to give to the vendor of your choice as your vote for«best in show». Additional votes can be placed by a monetary donation to the vendor as well … I figured good chili-cookoff etiquette was to drop at least a buck in each competitor’s ticket well. Also figured it was gonna’ take at least 3 – 4 samples of each competitor to properly gauge a champion, ;) . Sample round #1: Try each chili just to get a working baseline. It was tough, the Axemen’s M/C Seafood Chili and that of the defending champs, Engine 41, almost got my vote right off the bat, but tightly gripping my plastic sample spoon, I continued to march/sample, ;). Sample round #2 was done with a few swigs of beer, you know, to cleanse the pallet and come on, how much chili can you eat without eventually grabbing a beer? A few chili’s were starting to distance themselves from the pack. Sample round #3: Getting full, probably need to make a decision this round before I go into full«chili-coma». Man, I tell ya’, the competition was tough and I’d eat about a gallon or more of each recipe … the big winner’s here were the taste-testers. But in the end, I had to go with the Highland Park Fire Department chili … just something about it stood out with me. Rounds #4-infinity were just a blur after that and the Dearborn Fire Department was the eventual winner, so what do I know, eh? It was a great fundraiser for a good cause and raised approx. $ 40k for the two charities. Being able to walk around the nearby site of the old Tiger’s Stadium is always a nice extra, :). Two thumbs up! Special thanks to Casey’s, the hosts and all the participants, ie Axemen M/C, Windsor FD, Ferndale FD, Taylor FD, Hamtramck FD, Squad 4-Eng 31-Medic 7, Eng 35, Dearborn FD, Dearborn Heights FD, Detroit Police, Detroit EMS, Highland Park FD and Engine 41. See ya’ next year! :) … oh yeah, and come early if you’re gonna’, Unilocaler’s, this event really fills up fast!

I’m definitely in love. I’ve been wanting to come here for a long time based on Unilocal reviews, but I don’t get out much. Ugh, parenting. We walked in the door and a friendly bartender greeted us immediately. Literally. Like within seconds. We ordered drinks and she came right back with them. There was a firefighters benefit so it was really crowded and the grill was off. This made me sad. However, they did serve sloppy Jose’s(amazing) and corned beef sammies on marble rye, also delicious. Wonderful service, great laid back, fun crowd, and maybe one of the best places ever for this dive loving lady. We will be back very soon for burgers and more drinks.

I love this place. I love the people in this place. I love the burgers and wings I buy from this place. Perfectly affordable, especially compared to the douchey overpriced«burger bars»

Hands down the best bar in Detroit. Its a firefighter bar and the band practices upstairs. Part of the proceeds go to their fire departments. The cheapest and best burger you will find. The nicest staff and good patrons. If you are looking for a place to drink before an event downtown then this is the place for you. They shuttle to the stadiums and have great prices and even better food.

Food was good but the bartender was a complete asshole. Perhaps he shouldn’t drink on the job and get an attitude with the costumers. Not the same place as they were before they closed. I despise this place and the dickhole staff they have running it.

Love this place. We were walking from downtown to corktown and it was cold! so we popped in here to get warm and see what it was like. I ended up really feeling at home here. The people are nice and the bar is great. We had beers to start then decided to eat dinner. the food is great bar food. The gravy frys are cooked perfect and covered in it! I had the pastrami with horseradish amazing. My husband had the burger and said it was a great dirty bar burger. We really enjoyed the service and the people.

Good food. I will definitely admit that. However, I refuse to ever return on principle, being that they practice unethical behavior and blatant thievery. After a lunch trip with my girlfriend, and a later check of the bank account, there was an additional $ 4 charge that was not consented to. My girlfriend left the tip line empty(which is a terrible idea) because we left a cash tip(usually preferred by servers). Completely ruined my opinion on the place, and I hope the $ 4 was worth the lost revenue from me and everyone I know.

A perfectly acceptable watering hole. Jake and I visited on a weekend in Detroit. There were quite a few people in there. The bartender seemed to give most of her attention to regulars. I get it, we’re new people… if we go enough we’d be regulars and getting proper attention, too. When we were trying to order, another patron interrupted us and the bartender started talking to him, basically cutting us off. A little rude. The drinks were cheap and stiff. It’s a cool-looking place with lots of character and free WiFi. We might visit again in the future.

Best burger in Baseball… by far. I live in NH, so Fenway Park is my home ballyahhd. I have done my share of baseball roadtrips. First time in Detroit was June/1987. Milwaukee Brewers in town. Teddy Higuera vs Jack«the cat» Morris. My g/f & I had a burger at Casey’s prior to the game, and have been back several times. No trip to Detroit is complete without a burger at Casey’s. I was in Detroit for Opening Day 2000, first game played at Comerica Park. Could’ve eaten closer to the new stadium, but wasn’t about to cheat myself. Had me a burger at Casey’s. Prior to that, I had a Casey’s burger at the last game ever played at Tiger Stadium in Sept/1999(am tearing up here). Casey’s is the ONLY place I’ll ever eat at prior to a Tigers game. Btw, I believe it was Stacey who so graciously slapped a «Save Fenway Park!» bumper sticker above the bar that I gave her upon one visit. What a sweet gal. Want to impress a baseball date? Bring them to Casey’s Pub. It’s a TEN star establishment. Thank you, Stacey.

If your looking for good service with a smile this is the Place. Family owned and operated. We came here based on Unilocal. The kitchen is up front so expect to leave smelling like you just put 8 hours running a deep fryer. Lol. We ordered a burger the menu was small. We got our food in a average timeframe. Cooked perfectly. Was it a five star burger? maybe close. I’m not sure but it was purdy close. It’s a older place so it’s dark and a lot of local drinking at the bar. I will prolly go back again.

Best burger in town. It’s true. It’s better than Nemos(also a solid burger). I recently did a side-by-side comparison… and Casey’s wins. Casey’s is friendly. Local. Bartenders remember you. It’s cheap. Beth – what the hell are you smoking? Are you just the owner of Nemos or something? In what universe do you eat an exquisite $ 5.00, first class ½ lb cheeseburger and complain about«raising prices»? At five bucks, Casey’s burger is the best deal in the D. And that stepdaughter you mention works her ass off and commutes all the way from Port Huron every day. I think she does a bang up job. Casey’s ain’t going anywhere for a long time.

No-nonsense neighborhood bar with cheap drinks, a friendly clientele, and amazing inexpensive($ 4 to $ 4.50) burgers, perfectly cooked to order. Don’t look for a menu, you might not find one… because here’s the entire list of food offerings: burger, cheeseburger, bacon cheeseburger, fries, half-order of fries, onion rings, chili. When the burgers are this good, there’s no need for anything else!(I have not tried the chili yet, because the cheeseburger is always calling my name, but I hear it is amazing.) When I went recently, for an after-work burger and beer, the bartender was holding down the entire operation: grilling the burgers, frying the fries, serving drinks, waiting tables, the works. She was sweet and friendly and never missed a beat. This is NOT the kind of place where people size you up when you walk in, or act put off if you’re clearly not a regular. Seems like everyone’s welcome, which is a welcome attitude in this newly«hip» neighborhood.

This bar reminds me of how it used to be. From the looks of it, every neighborhood had at least one bar like Casey’s. It would be the kind of place you would have to go and get your drunk uncle out of when it was time for dinner. The kind of bar that gets busy when verlander is pitching a no hitter. A real American pub. It is definately a corktown neighborhood hang out. Conversation comes pretty easy with strangers and rounds of drinks are bought for one another. I can dig it. The burger is definately the all star here, and i will be back to have another. It’s cheap, fat and delicious. Cheers.

Do I miss Tiger stadium… yes Do I miss cheap drinks and unprentious people… no! «How come?» I’m glad you asked. Caseys is a bar you can spend a day with friends or alone and have a comfortable day. Burgers are really good-I’ve never ordered anything else, but I guess that is why I’m chubby-dubby. 2 dollar Killians pints-the beer lines are cleaned every two weeks and you can write you name in the bathroom if you can find room. If you are looking to spend a day doing and think about about nothing… get your@ss here!
