Hypnotic Sushi

Good sushi! I like the variety of the rolls and appetizers and we really enjoyed our maverick roll and ahi tuna tower. However, it was a little pricier so I’m not sure I would have gone here without a groupon.
Service was great and fast but unfortunately they have very little parking and it’s all valet.
Definitely worth a visit if you have a groupon!

Disappointed! We went on the recommendation of a colleague. The place was empty, yet we waited 20 minutes for a server. The server was clueless as to the menu, or other basics (such as Cabernet Sauvignon, pointed to on the menu, should not come out as a white wine!). None of our Nigiri ever came out.
The sashimi was decent, the rolls (which my colleagues wanted) mediocre. Squid salad was great, and the Sapporo was cold.
Sigh.

I’ve had better Sushi… The food was mediocre. But the Flavored Saki was
Mango and Raspberry is what I had but I enjoyed the Mango the Best!!! Its a cute little spot but I didn’t Fall in love with my food. There is complimentary valet parking but the lot is so small I don’t get why it’s necessary.

Meh, I would probably have never eaten at this place if it wasn’t for Groupon. I purchased the $ 30 for $ 15 meal, but the sushi would not be worth it otherwise.
When we walked into the restaurant, I was immediately not a fan of the interior. The ambience wasn’t the greatest.
My mom and I started out with the Steamed Chicken Gyoza appetizer which was actually very good (Happy hour price was $ 5). The sauce was the best part. We also ordered some soothing hot tea. It was nice on a cold Dallas night.
The rolls were good but nothing special. Probably not worth the price ($ 15 avg) they are asking for. We got the Maverick & a simple eel roll.
So overall, Groupon was the only really thing that made this meal somewhat worth it. Maybe this place is best for their happy hour deals.

Found this place via Groupon. Would return — not my favorite sushi place but gets the job done.

Upon walking in, this place smelled like cleaning products. Not my favorite when I’m really hungry.
I came in with a groupon for lunch, 30 for $ 15. But let’s be a little upfront, this review can’t be totally fair because my table didn’t get any fresh sashimi, but sushi in general was a little subpar. The fish was hardly noticeable in any roll. Essentially, all of the rolls are California rolls with extremely thin slices of raw fish on top. Perhaps we made the wrong choices, but everything we got was drenched in sauce. I could barely tell what I was eating besides rice and sauce (typically spicy mayo or the brown eel sauce). The menu made rolls sound good and then when I tried everything, it all tasted the same.
They were offering a lunch special, though, with 3 rolls for $ 15 or two rolls for $ 12 (off a pre-​selected menu). If they keep offering deals, I’d say this is a reasonably priced place, but I don’t think I’d ever pay full price for this.
Some of the good: service was fine and food came out at a relatively average speed, groupon/​lunch (and I hear of happy hour) deals.

Came here in a Thursday night and it was dead! They have comp valet, but then you feel obligated to tip. They parked my car like 20 feet from the front door, I think I could have done that?
I gave this place only 4 stars just because it seemed like an average sushi place, but prices were still high for that. It’s nice though, it seems like they always have a groupon going on so you might as well buy it! I even bought the lunch one for $ 15 worth $ 30 and they let me use it for dinner so that was reasonable!
The service and restaurant itself is great, everyone was so friendly and checked on us a few times throughout dinner. The patio is cute too with string lights so that’s nice for good weather! I see they have online ordering, I think I would be interested in doing that next time. Must try the bombshell roll, it’s really good!

So my stars are mainly for the amazing customer service we got, the interior and exterior of the place, and the one roll I liked. If you like rolls with special sauces all over it then you will enjoy this place a lot. I loved that they had a nice patio seating, and the service was on point, even though there were about 5 tables outside on a Friday night, the service was not lacking due to this.
We started off with the heart attack which was good, but also had a sweet sauce on top that I did not love. The rolls we got were Tyson’s tease and Oaklawn roll. i didn’t love the Tyson Tease, the sauce was way too sweet for me, and I asked for a side of sriracha and got charged 50 cents for it. Hmm. It’s hard to tell if the fish is fresh tasting when there is so much other stuff in the roll imbalancing the fish taste out. It’s just not my kind of place. We also ordered mango margaritas, the first round was too sweet for me, but the 2^nd round, they made it just perfect!
we ended the meal with mochi ice cream. I really wanted my friend to try this out, since she has never got mochi before. This was the worse mochi I have ever had. Plus we got mango and they added chocolate sauce on top, please don’t do that next time. Mango and chocolate don’t mix. At least not in my opinion. Which it does not matter, the mochi alone was not good. I hope I did not scar my friend for life, and that she will try mochi soon elsewhere. It’s also a bit pricey for rolls. I guess without alcohol we would have just paid $ 40 the amount of the groupon so $ 20 a piece, for an appetizer, two rolls, and my siracha sauce lol.

Worst management ever. I went here for my birthday with some friends, service was okay and it’s been OVER A MONTH since VALET SCRATCHED MY RIM! I have tried contacting back multiple times, leaving messages and no one ever calls me back.
I’m usually very reasonable on ratings and have NEVER given a 1 star, but this is well deserved since they’re too afraid to deal with customers as well as their mistakes.
