This place gets packed! Valet out back. Or street park if you are lucky and walk. I can’t eat sushi for a while after eating here! Soooo full! Pieces are huge! They should say on the menu how many come in a roll!

Wow — this place is worth it! I’m a sushi snob and I’m dying over the gangnam style and rattle snake rolls. Both have fried elements but it is not overpowering. They are creative rolls with excellent quality seafood. I love the detail of generous ginger portions. I hate always having to ask for more at other restaurants. Thank you for an excellent culinary experience!

Changed owners and is now just not any good. Loved this place prior and had bad experience on my last visit but thought it was just a fluke, unfortunately I was wrong. Prices have gone up, quality has gone down, service has gone down, and their special rolls are now covered up with cheaper parts and little sushi. Very disappointed as used to be one of my favorite places.

We chose lunch here to see if we could avoid the packed house and parking lot issues we had read about. Service is very friendly and efficient. The lunch menu is abbreviated and unless you are familiar with the regular menu or choose to interrogate your server, you may end up not getting what you want. I know I didn’t.
The Sashimi Rice Bowl was $ 15.00 and came with sushi rice, field greens and small thin pieces of assorted fish (odd bits, meant more for sushi rolls). No salad dressing. An extremely overpriced and unfortunate selection that I lived with; but definitely felt taken advantage of.
The seaweed salad was excellent. The Tempura was average — greasy with an unidentifiable dipping sauce. The Bento box Game Over short ribs were flavorful; but chewy. Miso soup was complimentary and appreciated.
I understand they are known for their rolls and the 4 spicy tuna roll pieces in the Bento were great.
They have some obvious issues here. It may or may not be a minefield. My anticipated entrée was a huge disappointment and not well described on the menu. I don’t care about all you can eat sushi rolls, so I think we’ll move on somewhere else.

-$ 20 for all you can eat sushi and it comes out fast. Albeit some of the rolls fell apart, the amount of fish to rice ratio is respectable. Also it is tasty.

Be warned the manager doesn’t honor Groupons. The Groupons specify 1 per person per visit so I went with my boyfriend, my best friend, and his boyfriend. Both my boyfriend and my best friend’s boyfriend had a groupon for $ 50 and the idea was to use them for our SEPARATE checks and make it a fun double date night.
When we tried to pay the manager said she’d only take one groupon per table which is nowhere specified on the groupon. She said she’s been trying to get Groupon to change the conditions which is a nice story but doesn’t change the fact that she’s just arbitrarily added $ 50 to our bill. Really horrible customer service.
The food is decent but it’s way too pricey, especially given how awful management is.

I thought the entire place was very average.
I had the Salmon, Tamago (egg), and Tuna as well as a Dragon roll.
Nothing popped out as special but everything was not bad either.
Not one of those places I’d go out of my way to try but might have once in a while. I also thought the price point was a bit high but the location is prime so it makes sense!

Gui has a nice relaxing atmosphere, but overall my experiences with the cuisine have been average. Never amazing, but never bad either. And that goes for the service as well.
I like to come for the all you can eat sushi on Tuesday nights. It’s a pretty good deal as long as you come hungry. The drinks they offer are probably the best part, love the lychee martini! My favorite sushi rolls are the ones with jalepenos! Not a huge fan of the ones wrapped in soy paper, the texture really throws me off.
Overall this is a good place to get together with friends to enjoy some nice drinks and sushi, the atmosphere is warm and inviting.

Food (***** out of *****); Great professional quality sushi rolls. This is bar none the best all you can eat sushi rolls in Dallas. No sushi molds here. Each piece is painstakingly made by hand. There is very little rice in the rolls and plenty of fish. All the fish is of the highest quality and very fresh. The tempura rolls have HOT tempura inside the rolls. The raw fish rolls have ICE COLD fish inside the rolls. It is THAT fresh. Everything here is super fresh and tastes great.

Atmosphere (***** out of *****); Very classy and intimate atmosphere. Lively sushi bar.
Conclusion (***** out of *****); Out of all the $ 20 or under all you can eat sushi experiences in Dallas, this is the best one if you like sushi rolls. The price is $ 20 for AYCE sushi rolls. Tokyo One and Osaka has more variety and sashimi, but their sushi rolls are not as good as Gui. Sushi shack has no flavor (they don’t use vinegar in the sushi rice), and Sushi Hinoka & Kaji Sushi are both not professionally made.

Gui is a great spot for a casual, but still sophisticate dinner. The service is always spot on and the atmosphere is nice without being pretentious. It’s really turned into our go-​to spot for taking out of towners when we want uptown but without the trendy pricetag. I’ve never tried the Korean side of the menu, but the sushi has always been pretty solid. I’m sure it’s not Uchi quality, but it’s great for what it is. I’m not big into sake, but there’s a small little bottle they sell for like $ 12 that is mild and great for sake bombs.

The game over is amazing! The meat is so tender. It’s just super yummy!!! My boyfriend always get the all you can eat sushi and I always get the game over. It’s amazing!!!

Found this place on groupon! When I went i was astonished by the amazing service and quality of food. I love Korean food. But the sushi was to die for I was so surprised this place e was on groupon. One of the best sushi places in Dallas. and I eat A LOT OF SUSHI

What excellent customer service!!! I was greeted by everyone at the door and thanked by everyone as I left, even on a Friday night.
The food was great. We only got three items, but they were fast, well made and tasty. The rainbow roll #2 was spicy and delicious
The rattle snake roll was crazy good! I love eel.
We also had the poke cake and it was very sweet, but also good. I would have wished for more tuna for $ 14 dollars.

I used to go here because I would get hooked up on the sake and beer… that was enough of an excuse to overlook the mediocre sup-​par food. Now that I lost my connect I won’t be going back. I was always in there spending money… lol never again!!! Sushi from
Kroger is better than this place… the rice is always cold and the food is so boring. Don’t go here… it’s over-​priced and they are not loyal to their regulars.

First thing I got off DFW into Dallas for the first time, Gui was my first destination thanks to my bro’s suggestion. How can I miss all-​you-​can-​sushi for $ 20? Indulge yourself in a Korean-​inspired sushi buffet here on Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday night!
Gui offers two levels of sushi buffet: the basic $ 20 and the upgraded $ 25. The basic level includes more than 20 «basic rolls», including the classic California roll to the more unconventional spicy crunch. The upgrade adds few extra «specialty rolls» to your selection. My opinion is that the $ 5 upgrade is unnecessary because the specialty rolls are not anything too special and you can easily get full from the already decent-​sized basic selection.
Each order is delivered a-​la-​carte style, so the pro is that you can freshly made-​to-​order sushi and the con is that you can have a long wait to get your sushi especially if the restaurant is busy (In my 1.5-hour stay there, I got only two orders delivered before last call at 9:30).
Let’s finally talk about the sushi first: if you are looking for authentic sushi rolls, you will be disappointed. Most rolls I have ordered are more similar to Korean bibimap than Japanese sushi, which is good or bad depending on your preferences. While I was having a difficult time distinguishing most sushi rolls, the ones that stood out to me were the spicy salmon crunch and the rainbow rolls. Caked with tempura crunch, the spicy salmon crunch is a delight that is intertwined in tempura’s crunchiness and sushi roll’s softness: Definitely a must-​get roll in the selection! However, if you like fish, rainbow roll is even more must-​get: topped with small pieces of sashimi, each piece is filled with imitation snow crab meats — I regretted not getting this again before last call :(

Especially if you enjoy Americanized sushi rolls, the AYCE sushi that Gui has on select nights cannot be missed! In a dimly-​lit hip atmosphere, this could be a potential date spot or a friend hangout, although you probably shouldn’t eat like a pig here if you are trying to impress your date. Because each order may take forever to deliver, be sure to choose many rolls each order so you spend more time eating than waiting!

I’ve been here twice for their all you can eat deals. The first time, everything was great, except there was a piece of plastic film left in my roll — eh no big deal it’s easy to miss.
Second time — went for the $ 25 all you can eat specialty roll — gotta say the uptown roll was very unique to me and delicious! Their rolls are moderately sized (definitely larger than most) and fish is pretty fresh. However, waitress (won’t mention your name) — please don’t roll your eyes at me and try to correct me with attitude when I just ask you to make sure something isn’t marked on our order. :(I totally understand that it’s crazy busy and you’re stressed and it’s loud and hectic, but it really ruined my mood for a bit.
Will definitely come back — I always leave miserably because I’ve had too much! Haha.

I’ve only been here once for the all you can eat sushi deal so just note that the 4 stars is because of the deal.
Came here on a Sunday night around 5:30. And I am telling you now. Get there between 5 and 5:20. We were lucky to get the last table before the rush of people came and I bet they had to wait at least an hour to get a seat because you know at all you can eat sushi, people will stuff their face until they are on the verge of passing out. It may be different if you are one or two people because then you can sit at the sushi bar.
$ 20 a person for as much sushi? Yes please! We could have paid a bit more for more specialty sushis and sake but I was content with the basic sushi items. Be warned that if one person wants to upgrade, then everyone has to upgrade so be sure that everyone is on the same page.
I am a fan of the classics, like rainbow roll and spicy salmon roll, and was very pleased with the taste. I can’t remember other rolls we ordered but I do know that my boyfriend loved one roll that was crunchy on the outside (may have been the crunch roll). For the price, this sushi was definitely worth it. It probably is comparable to other sushi places in the area (not Uchi of course) but it fills my sushi desire that I get every so often.
The service is what you can expect from an Asian place with an all you can eat option. It was a bit slow and you have to flag down the waiter but I mean come on, everyone is ordering tons of sushi at the same time! The sushi chefs mixed up our order a bit and so we got way more than we asked for, and by that time we were close to the point of passing out, but the waiter said that if we couldn’t finish it then we wouldn’t be charged for what was left over (one of their all you can eat rules). I really appreciated that!
Whenever I am craving sushi, I will definitely hit this place up.

After hearing so much about their unlimited sushi special (Tuesdays and Sundays) I had to come with some friends to try it out. To explain, there are 3 different levels:
$ 20 gets you unlimited sushi
$ 25 gets you unlimited sushi and access to a few extra rolls (like the «superman burrito»)
$ 27 gets you unlimited sushi, secret access AND unlimited sake (no you can’t get unlimited sake without getting special sushi access)
We were feeling a bit frugal so we all agreed to stick to the $ 20 level. And man, that was plenty incredible enough. Usually when you hear unlimited sushi you think buffet (ick, buffet sushi?) or low quality stuff that hardly qualifies as sushi. At Gui, you get what would probably cost $ 8-​$ 12 at some other 3-​star sushi restaurant, and you get an unlimited amount of it.
There was a bit of a wait to get in (so try to get there early) and we were a bit obnoxious about seating arrangements, but they put up with us and eventually got us all seated. It took a while for the first wave of sushi to come in (there are 3 chefs trying to take care of everyone), so order quick and keep a continuous cycle of orders so the sushi flow is stable.
Otherwise, it’s a ton of fun and I was too hungry to take pics. Will definitely be back sometime!

The best bang for your buck sushi deal in Dallas. 20 bucks gets you all you can eat rolls from a choice of about 15, with $ 5 more adding another 7 or so options. The «Americanized» sushi is good, not great, but there are some gem rolls.
The spicy salmon crunch is excellent. The salmon, although not spicy, is tasty, but what really makes this roll is the crunchy bread crumbs accompanied with spicy mayo. The rainbow roll is another of my family’s favorites, with the nice pieces of fish and avocado on the outside accompanied by a light mustard sauce. Finally, another crowd pleaser is the spider roll, with fried sot shell crab.
As far as deciding between the $ 20 and $ 25, I personally don’t find the specialty rolls that fantastic. The sexy roll (a california roll wrapped with cucumber instead of seaweed and rice) is overpowered by the lemony cucumber. The dragon fire (a deep fried jalapeño stuffed with crab) is heavy. They really just don’t float my boat, although once I’m of age, I will be getting the specialty roll addition so that I can do the all-​you-​can-​drink-​sake for just 2 bucks more!

My roommate told me about this place, and said, «It’s all-​you-​can-​eat sushi Sundays and Tuesdays. It’s 20 dollars for just normal rolls, 25 dollars for specialty rolls.»
I mean, usually specialty rolls cost 5 dollars more than a, say, spicy tuna, anyway. If I only have to pay an extra 5 for all you can eat? You can definitely bet on what I’m going to do.
We roll in in our stretchy jeans and unisex hoodies preparing for this gorge, and next to us we see a bunch of drunk consultants/​accountants that probably were in the same fraternity already drunk off of sake. Yeah, I’m throwing shade in a Unilocal review. There are no ends to my judgement.
I do not let this ruin my night. If anything, it makes it more interesting.
The specialty rolls are basically a lot of tuna and this mix of fake crab and mayo. Was I okay with this? Absolutely. Even though I think fake crab is the devil. The more tuna I can eat the better. The great thing is they give you a list descriptions detailing the components of their normal rolls and specialty rolls, so you know what you’re getting into before you make a decision.
Some tips – don’t get the sushi roll with soy paper. Because that shit is nasty. Why would anyone want to give up seaweed? SEAWEED’S DELICIOUS. I was curious to see what it would taste like, and let me spoil it for you – it’s disappointment.
Also, don’t get the one that talks about «crisped rice» or whatever. It’s basically this brick of rice that’s been pan-​fried and too difficult to chew. Unless you like chewing bricks of rice. Then you’re just an idiot.
