We really love their changing seasonal menu and their sea bass is one of the best I’ve ever had! For pictures and a more in depth review on our wonderful experience at BITE, check out our blog post here:

This is a place you come to experience food. A place you gather after work or before a bar and know the owner truly appreciates you and your business. The design is tranquil and upbeat. The old fashion with the TX whisky is amazing and full bodied. It is my first time. I have been invited many times. I leave with my group saying holy shit. «This owner. This general manager. This talented chef. It’s bartenders; all get what it takes to be competitive in this market and what it takes to attract local. Loyal customers. Can’t wait for happy hour menu to start. There goes our paychecks.

Had my 2nd great dinner last night and brought my family, who are huge food snobs. The food is all fresh and beautifully prepared.(My immune system is such that if any food has been out too long or is old, I can tell you. What a relief to find a safe place to eat!) Creative flavors and beautiful presentation make you feel you’ve gotten something really special. Our sea bass was perfectly cooked, as was my husband’s steak special and the«lamb pops» — beautiful lamb chops. He employs just a hint of Asian fusion in his herbs and sauces — very delicately so as not to overpower the food. The food is just really good. We are sticklers for service and so rarely experience it. Ed was our server and his expertise, professionalism, attention to detail and manners, yes, manners count, were refreshing. He knows when to remove plates from the table and always asks, which is a true sign of respect. We did not feel pressured for anything but guided through the menu selections. My first dinner at Bite, took a friend who needed a nice dining experience because she was coming up to the 1st anniversary of her husband’s death. Ed was our server and without my telling him, could tell she was a little sad and just took care of her… even extending his arm to her as we walked to the front door. You don’t find that thoughtfulness.

Lollipop lamb chops and baba ghanouj to start. Fantastic! Then a strip steak and skirt steak for main. Also good. Staff was friendly and drinks were smooth. I would highly recommend this nicely designed restaurant. And the green tea cheesecake is a must-have

Service — terrific Food — best blackened fish sandwich I’ve ever had. I think they toasted the bun with butter or something that just topped it off. My daughter had the lamb burger and couldn’t stop raving about it This place is fairly new. It is definitely a great place to go for lunch!

If I could choose 3.5STARS I would. I’ve eaten here 3x. The food is good, the wait-staff a little green but friendly. The prices are too high for the area. Unfortunately all the new restaurants in Oaklawn are of the higher-price end. Someone should re-open(a concept similar to) The Br0nx, Good Eats, or Black-eyed Pea. I don’t know if this restaurant will make it. It doesn’t seem to offer anything you can’t get anywhere else within a few block area: no drink specials or lunch menu with reasonable prices. The interior is very nice as is the outside seating(until summer). That and the food is why I rate it a bit high. Good date night venue I guess.

I was very impressed with Bite Restaurant. There was complimentary valet but I gave them $ since they were so friendly and respectful. Next, the Restaurant’s ambience was absolutely beautiful and modern. The Service was excellent… I was very pleased with the wait staff, the sommelier, and the chiefs. They were extremely cordial and respectful to all the customers in my sight. Now, let’s Converse about the food, I love, love, love, the appetizers, the entrée’s, and the desserts!!! PERFECT for ME and my Colleagues and Friends!!! We are very picky with our FOOD and WINE… With that, we will continue to go to BITE for luncheons, business and fun dinners… We thank you Bite by Chef Eddy T…

The food is absolutely amazing! I wish I could rate this place higher than 5 stars!!! Parmesan soufflé is a must! Save some room for desert though!

Food was incredible, the mood and lighting perfect for romance! And when I went to men’s room I was able to catch all the scores before heading back. Top notch! They got it RIGHT here.

Food was great, service impeccable, décor nice… like a nice restaurant but then there are tvs — I don’t get it. Sports bar or fine dining? There’s no concept here and it’s sorely lacking. Decide what you want to be and be it. You need a theme. It’s called bite so how about some small plates or? The tvs are out of place

Service was great and food was good but wish I would have went with steak. I selected the salmon and was underwhelmed but I would come back.

I took out 4 people from work last night. Went here expecting Cyclone Anaya, which was the only Mexican restaurant I liked. Was disappointed when I heard they closed. We decided to stay based on the recommendation of the Valet. It was excellent! Had the Sea Bass which was really good. Great service too. I would check it out again.

Very slow service, even with it being uncrowded at lunch. Took awhile for server and drinks to arrive. our appetizer(which was good) came out a couple minutes before our food. Food looked nice plated, but it was incredibly bland. When we asked for salt, the waiter looked shocked and disappeared… and didn’t come back for about 10 minutes. We asked someone else for salt, and he came back with a bowl of salt and a spoon. Huh? Seemed offended that we’d even asked. Not impressed with the food or service.

I was very excited about Bite when I saw it pop up on my Unilocal feed. They opened in late December 2015 and have a beautiful entrance with a fire pit and complimentary valet. It also has a nice exterior décor with ramp to the front rotating doors. Unfortunately, that is where the disappointment started. Upon entry, my guest and I both noticed a weird smell by the front door. It was kind of a mix of floral cleaning products, wood fire and something burnt. I am not sure if it normally smells like that but it did when we came in. We were dining on a Friday evening around 7:00pm and it was fairly slow. We were seated immediately and offered waters. It took a bit longer than normal for our server to approach and offer drinks. We settled on a glass of Riesling and the Winter Sangria. The drinks took more than 18 – 20 minutes to arrive from the bar and our server did not come back until the drinks came. The Sangria flavor was really nice but my glass arrived very sticky to the point where I had to request a replacement. I would also recommend a non-stem glass for this drink as it does require a straw and drinking out of a wine glass with a straw from on top of the table is hard. I had to take it down into the booth with me every time I wanted a sip. We then requested recommendations on the appetizers and the server mentioned the lamb pop and the Beef Carpoccio(spelling?). The lamb pop was average but it was cold — I would much rather this to be warm. The beef also tasted good but was such thin slices with so many leafy greens it was more of a salad with lunch meat thrown on top. We then ordered our meals, the airline chicken and the salmon. The chicken was moist and good flavor; however the tomato base did not seem to go with the chicken. They did not complement each other. The salmon was presented nicely but was so incredibly greasy and no flavor at all. Even some salt and pepper would have helped. Finally, we tried the flourless chocolate cake and the Crème Brule. The flourless cake was good with a nice fruit side and the Crème Brule was also good. The bathrooms were nice but there were pictures of random food in on the walls which threw off the appeal of the décor…also there was a closet door in the handicap stall that is broken. I felt like I had to check to make sure no one was in there watching me. Overall thoughts were that the service times were not up to par, especially with it being as slow as it was. The food had great presentation but lacked a wow factor and some did not pair well with each other within a dish. Prices seem to be a tad high for the lack of the wow factor. I am considering returning in a few months maybe once the kinks have worked out… but until then I would not recommend to anyone.

I am here for dinner, having wild mushrooms on flatbread, truffle oil, melted cheese. .keep it coming party in my mouth… waiting for parmesan soufflé… the soufflé came out with a wonderful garlic tarragon sauce and some mushrooms… ok keep it coming… the party started good, my glass had a crack, so they made me a brand new drink«not grandmas iced tea» and it sure was not. who ever made this made sure it was for me and not grandma … Beef /Cut du jour… mkt. we’ll see what the mkt is… so far so good 5 stars, keep this up and I will be coming back. Service by Ed. ask for him. excellent service My beef medallions perfect medium with a red wine reduction not too sweet, savory with notes of thyme, mudhrooms and a dauphin grautine looking like a wrapped package on the plate, with nice sized asparagus, thick stems. This meal was phenomenal, flavors spot on, and one can sense the pride the chef to prepare this meal. I’m certainly in a very good place now… Ok…no room for dessert but being a pastry chef I came for the food not the sweets. Thank you… this was my much delayed birthday dinner. Things comes to those who wait. great conversation.excellent meal. khxbkhun

Mr J decided to surprise me with a dinner reservation and gave me a few hints such as, «it opened about a month ago» and«it’s American cuisine with a lot of Asian influence and flavors.» Unfortunately for Mr J, I Google’d my heart out and found out where we were going in a matter of minutes. However, that’s a fantastic way to describe Bite succinctly. The interior is gorgeous with a modern design setting with delicate lighting and wood beams hanging from the ceiling. Dim lighting throughout and a very romantic atmosphere(ahem Mr J, I see what you were trying to do). Our waitress Linh was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable. For drinks, Mr J ordered the smoking gun and I ordered the Shakespearean garden. The Shakespearean garden was very fresh and I loved all the cucumber it had. Mr J really enjoyed his smoking gun — it comes in a mason jar with its lid on and once the lid is taken off, tada, smoke galore! We ordered the mushroom artichoke flatbread for a starter, Mr J ordered the duck as his entrée and I ordered the miso truffle salmon. I think everything we ordered asides from the drinks had some truffle in it — not that I’m complaining in the slightest. The flatbread was missing some heat so Linh brought over some crushed red peppers. The addition of red peppers definitely hit the spot. Mr J gobbled down his duck and let me have a bite which melted in my mouth. The salmon was a very healthy portion of fish with the salmon skin fried and added as embellishment(which I still totally ate). The salmon was cooked perfectly and every bite was flavorful. The mushrooms, grits and other veggies that came with it were incredibly well seasoned. Bite didn’t have as much traffic as I would have anticipated especially with it being in the heart of Oak Lawn on a Friday night. However, the food was excellent, the ambiance was intimate, and I had a lovely evening with Mr J. We will be making a subsequent visit to try their pre-theater dinner which you’re allowed to order from before 7PM!

Not a big fan of sandwiches and salads on lunch menus myself, I aimed for the appetizer menu to fill me up today. I ordered the Beef Carpaccio and Brussel Sprouts and the soup of the day: tomato basil. The carpaccio was just beautifully presented: tasted great too. The soup was divine on this cold day. The Brussel Sprouts can be made to look elegant but they were pretty darn tasty.

We went in for a glass of wine and an appetizer at the bar. We got the fois gras with spiced pear… we ate it so fast I forgot to take a picture! It was incredibly delicious and the mixture of flavors were very savory!!! You must try it!

The atmosphere is so nice and comfy. The service was above and beyond even though I came in on New year’s eve! They were extremely busy and still found time to treat their guests appropriately. I was seated quickly and greeted within just a few moments. The food was just delightful and perfect portions. Thank you bite!

Yum! After a tip from my parents, I stopped in here for lunch with a few friends and we noshed on beef carpaccio(loved the aioli glaze!), brussel sprouts(crispy and fresh), chicken wings(good tangy sauce, light and crunchy outside, not overly breaded!), and turkey croissant-my least favorite, but still really good with a cranberry sauce and avocado. The manager(?) noticed we didn’t grab one of the flatbreads and sent the mushroom and manchego cheese flatbread out as a complimentary addition. Amazing mix of flavors and I’m definitely glad we had a chance to try it, as this and the beef carpaccio were my two favorites! We complemented brunch with a few ciders, a mimosa, and a moonshine specialty cocktail, and overall our bill came out to around $ 100 with tip. We were appropriately full but not uncomfortably stuffed-overall a great new addition to the neighborhood and I’m excited for the giant patio once we get through the winter! Very attentive and helpful staff,
