While the prices are a little steep, my wife and I had PERFECT scallop dish and beef filet. The scallops were cooked perfectly and the seasoning was spot on. I ordered a filet, medium rare. It was seared and charred on the outside and perfect on the inside. We also had salads and wine. I could not think of anything to improve. PERFECTION.

Lovely brunch! We had the breakfast flatbread, truffle and bacon deviled eggs, breakfast tacos, and the chicken sausage was wonderful!

Went for our anniversary and enjoyed it immensely. Miguel was an excellent server, gave us some space but was there when we needed him. The sommelier was informative and engaging and helped us choose an excellent bottle of wine. Deviled eggs were fun, a little bacon and some truffles-yum. I had the sea scallops and they were excellent. Truly one of the tastiest plates I have had in dallas. I could eat two servings. Reasonably priced and the couscous was a great complement. Spouse had the cauliflower steak and it was different and tasty. The raisin sauce went very well with it. Tastes great and you get to feel good about yourself for eating so healthy. Can’t wait to go back.

Love Dish for dinner. Great menu and fabulous food. Sunday brunch however leaves a little to be desired. Food was cool to the touch, despite sending it back twice. And overall the quality was much lower than what we’ve come to enjoy during the dinner service.

Had a birthday party dinner for a buddy. The person who seated us didn’t inform us that the table would have a minimum charge for dinner. This minimum charge didn’t take into account our significant bar tab prior to being seated. Our server was excellent and was put into the awkward position of trying to handle all this between the restaurant manager and our large group. I wasn’t impressed. And the manager was a total coward in how he addressed the issue with the table. Nothing informative or forthright was done here. Ask lots of questions before being seated at this place.

Scallops were delish. The fried squid was delish. The caulifour steak was delish. Service was good. Music a tad too loud. Beer menu kinda blah.

I came to DISH to celebrate my birthday with friends. The staff at Dish was amazing from the moment I stepped on the property. My group had a section in the back of the restaurant, we had a very large party of 10. Our waiter Dylan was absolutely perfect. Dish provided our group with complimentary champagne to toast my birthday. For a group of ten Dylan was very attentive and really made the dinner really special. I ordered the Rosemary Chicken on top of potatoes and carrots. My chicken was DELICIOUS, my friends loved their food as well. One of my guest didn’t find anything on the menu appealing so she ordered the salmon and was not a fan so we informed Dylan. He immediately took the salmon back and brought her back a speciality dish created by the chef that was not on the menu. She was extremely pleased with her chef special. Overall I was extremely pleased with DISH and I wouldn’t think twice about returning. Thank you for making my Birthday perfect Dish Staff!!!

We discovered this place about 6 months ago and have been a regular ever since. We started coming her for lunch and then tried their Sunday brunch(excellent!), now most recently started going there for dinner with our friends. The menu changes often so you get a good variety, but many staples are always on it. Lunch: –They are busy, but not slammed so you can get very good service. I love the mussels and our son likes the burgers. Very relaxing place to eat for lunch. Brunch: Our favorite meal there, we have taken many of our friends here and haven’t had one that hasn’t really enjoyed it. The best bets are chicken and waffles, shrimp and grits, pancakes, and some form of brioche my wife gets. It will be busy, but they are efficient. Great when they open the patio. Dinner: Its more of laid back scene, not crowded, but not dead. They have a very good bar, although I have to be honest, the bartender made the worst Mojito I’ve ever had. The wines by the glass are only average(areas of opportunity). The food is very good and service is very personal(if you want to feel like you are in someone’s home rather than«now serving the Johnson party», its the place for you. Our favorites are: the fish and chips(they change the fish regularly), steak frittes(our son’s favorite), cauliflower steak(our vegetarian friend’s favorite), the beet salad and the fish of the day. Their desserts are also very good. Overall, a very well managed restaurant where they treat you as a guest and make you feel appreciated. The food is always solid and the vibe is laid back, but upscale.

The SSSB+Umami Experience: It started with a warm early evening setting the scene. A bright, well-balanced interior, with the day’s last bits of sun streaming through the windows. Steve comes by – what a delightful waiter! His attitude and rapport were simply outstanding. He brings the appetizer – Salty: Shishito peppers. Perfectly roasted with sharp complements of miso and parmesan. A surprise with each bite. A whirlwind of spice, salt, earth, and a hint of sour. Sour & Bitter: the bitter citrus tonic. A pleasant sharpness of lemon and grapefruit, cutting through the richness of the Sweet, short ribs. Succulent meat and creamy mashed potatoes with tones of a family meal, a Sunday supper, a special occasion when you come home from college – all topped with flavorful, perfectly crisp onions. Sweet & Salty: chocolate trifle – creamy, dreamy chocolate topped with crunchy hazelnuts. Every bite, every moment an orchestra playing on all parts of the tongue. The evening was truly the 5th flavor… umami. The unexpected. The above and beyond. The leaves you satisfied but craving more.

Just dined here with my family for my mom’s birthday dinner. Kristi is phenomenal, and her amazing service really made our night special. from the moment we walked in, everyone made sure to wish my mom a happy birthday and even wrote her a card! So sweet. The food is not AMAZING, but it is quite tasty. the portions are perfect. Definitely try the little gem salad. I had a cocktail that was really GOOD. I normally go for beers, but this mixture of Apple/cinnamon was divine. For 4 entrees, an app, a salad, and two drinks, the total came to around $ 162. you can’t beat that price for the ambiance and unmatched service. yay, DISH! you are so lovely.

We just had the best Easter Brunch here and it was so good! As soon as we walked in everyone was super sweet! The hostess at the front was so sweet and really accommodated us since we brought our little dog! They seated us on the patio and everyone was really friendly and accommodating. The drinks and food were great as well. We has a sampling of their breads and a 3 course meal for a fixed price of $ 45 a person. I can’t wait to go back! We loved it and our dog loved it too!

My experience with Dish has always been at the Oaklawn location and it’s safe to say, this remains one of my all time favorites in DFW. The Preston Hollow location has a more experienced crowd than Oaklawn. The décor is modern with industrial touches. The service in the bar area was excellent. The filet with mashed potatoes and a hint of truffle is amazing. Cooked perfectly. Add a side of jalapeño Mac n cheese and you’re set! I will most definitely be back. Next trip will involve trying several of their many house cocktail recipes!

We were celebrating our friends birthday a few weeks ago and had a great experience. Food and drinks were great– and our waiter was very accommodating and knowledgable. One small issue we had was that we brought in cake balls to give to the birthday girl. We did not know there was a policy against bringing in a dessert. After speaking with the manager, Robert Turbeville, and explaining our situation to him, he graciously made an exception for us. We were very grateful and appreciative to Robert and to the entire staff. They even served our party a complimentary glass of champagne. So nice– Highly recommend Dish! Great experience.

Listen, Listen, LISTEN people! All the talk is true! Brunch here is the bomb. I’ve visited both locations, Cedar Springs and Preston Hollow and they exceeded all of my expectations. One thing that you MUST order and enjoy… the Southern Style Cheese Grits. This might be one of the best side of grits, I’ve ever had a restaurant, or close to it. They come to your table, served hot, hot, hot, in deep dish, cast iron skillet. They’re smooth, velvety, buttery, thick, everything I love about a perfect side of grits. The cheese, it’s broiled on top, a little on the browned side, thick, kinda crispy, at the first bite, you really taste the sharp cheese. Not a bad thing to be said about them. Surprisingly, their Steel Cut Oatmeal was great. Usually, with any bowl of oatmeal, I have to doctor it up a lot, but this bowl, it was everything I liked. Only thing I had to do was add a little splash of milk. But overall, the slightly sour, cold berries mixed with the sweet brown sugar in the hot, thick oatmeal was… well let’s just say, I cleaned my bowl. What I did like about the oatmeal, upon it being brought to the table, was the candied brown sugar on top. It melted into the oatmeal and made it just a great, morning sweet treat!

The valet drivers are nice again. I didn’t catch his name. The hostess was also sweet. She asked me if I worked out and Equinox and reminded me about the 20% off. Thank you! I love when establishments and especially their employees remind us that they give discounts. I had the veggie burger today and it was really good. It came with avocado on it too which I loved that. The bun was yummy and it was a good size and the value was also good. I would have this again. I got a side salad instead of French fries. Boo because the fries look better!(Of course) I’m not sure if he’s new but the bartender Leroy is also very friendly. The manager, Stephen is also awesome and very friendly. In the evenings I sit at bar too and Jesus is also awesome. Everyone is always very friendly here which is one of the reasons I love to come here.(Besides it being a very nice place with great food) Thank you Dish for another great dining experience and for the Equinox discount.

I’ve visited some really wonderful restaurants in Dallas, and DISH is not one of them. Poor quality food, overpriced menu and so-so service are what define my experience. Let’s start with the food: my BBQ braised short ribs, while tender, were flavorless. I have no idea what they braised them in(maybe beef stock?), but they seriously lacked flavor. The fries were soggy and, again, lacked flavor. The hangar steak tasted charred, and the red wine gastrique only added to that effect. And to top it off, the portions were small, and the food was generally lukewarm. For this, the food was overpriced: for example, the hangar steak(a pretty cheap cut of meat) was $ 26 for the charred 6 oz they brought out. Service was so-so. The hostess ignored us for a few minutes after we walked in and then tried to seat our party of 5 at a booth set for 4, even though we had reservations. When I mentioned this to her, she suggested that we all scoot in. Our waiter, though, was OK.

DISH Preston Hollow is an upscale American restaurant with a modern menu and strong drinks. It has a reputation of an outstanding lunch, but this review focuses only on their dinner service. My Overall Rating — 3 Stars(Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere — Located along the NW Highway/Hillcrest intersection, DISH can be found tucked inside a shopping strip. But the Valet service is the first indication that DISH isn’t your ordinary casual restaurant. And once inside, the dimly lit restaurant has a very upscale appeal. You’ll find a sizable bar on the left with bartenders ready to build you a strong concoction. On your right is the main dining area and open kitchen. You’ll find a good mix of tables and private booths along with quality silver and stem ware. 1 Star. Service — Our server was knowledgeable and helpful, but I did get a feeling of being rushed. Perhaps he just wanted to get the order in, but this was our initial visit and we were pacing ourselves so we could make good choices. Recommendations were sped through and we always felt we were holding them up. Also, we had a late dinner reservation, and we had to wait for our entire party(4) to arrive before seating us in the restaurant(80% capacity). But other than those details — no issues. They were prompt, courteous, cleared our settings, overall great in these areas. ½ Star. Food — DISH has quality cuisine. The menu has plenty of steaks and«safe» American dishes. I will proclaim their pork chop was one of the best pork chops I had ever eaten. Most thick cut pork chops dry out, but DISH serves theirs smothered in an apple, bacon and onion ragù while sitting on top of creamy mashed potatoes. The result? The marinated pork gets extra flavor, texture, and maintains its moistness in an incredible bite. Our starters were good but not great. The deviled eggs were a strong start, but I wasn’t a fan of their Salt & Pepper Calamari. This dish was tossed in hot sauce(Franks or Tabasco), which over powered any and all other flavors. I wished they wouldn’t have added the sauce or given us an option to put it on the side. For dessert the blackberry crisp was recommended but didn’t impress(a bit tart). However, the Peanut Butter Trifle was a hit. Over all I’ll never forget the pork chop & calamari for good & bad reasons. 1 Star. Will I Return? — Maybe. Their brunch looks great, but they do have another location off Cedar Springs. DISH Preston Hollow appears to be a restaurant that caters well to the local community. It feels similar to Hillstone, but in a different setting. It’s a place I wanted to try once, but now that I have I’m not sure I’d try twice. ½ Star. My Unilocal Rating Scale(Sum of all parts): 1 Star — Atmosphere — Is it a cool dive? Perhaps an upscale place? No matter the type, atmosphere plays a big part and I’ll give a star if I like it or thinks it has great charm. 1 Star — Service — You can have a great meal with bad service. But that’s also what can make a five star joint drop to four. It’s important to the dining experience that service is great and on point. 2 Stars — Food — I’ll award up to two stars for the food, since this is the main reason we dine out. Sometimes the extra star is given for value, but it’s really all about the food. 1 Star — Will I come back? — If I know for a fact I’ll return, I’ll give this a star. A place has to make an impression for me to return. Each Category can be given up to 1 star except food(2 stars) because I consider all these categories important to the overall dining experience. I will sum them up to provide my final Unilocal score.
