We went at 8pm and it wasn’t happy hour. And when it’s not happy hour the food is expensive. I order the pad Thai and potsticker and the potsticker isn’t a potsticker at all. Wasn’t really impressed. And took at least 15mins to finally put our orders in. The waiting game sucks.

Staff very cool… almost unwelcoming. Served our group if almost 20 very well. Skip lettuce wraps… tacos or macadamia chicken next time. Will go back. Sushi looked great too.

Pretty disappointing service. Especially from the host, not so much from the servers. Food was alright but after terrible treat from a host, I just wanted to hurry up and get done with eating and just leave. When my friend and I showed up to the restaurant alittle before 8:30ish, we could either sit at the bar right away or wait 30 – 40 minutes for a table. We decided to wait because we would make it just in time for the happy hour which starts at 9pm, so we asked the host to give us a table at the happy hour section and put our name down. When we were seated and about to order around 9pm for the happy hour, our server told us we were in the«regular» section where happy hour isn’t offered, but if we wanted to, we could wait for a table in the happy hour section for additional 30 – 40 minutes. My friend and I were confused because we clearly asked the host for a table in the happy hour section but we were seated otherwise. By that point, we were too hungry to wait any longer so we just ordered from the regular menu. Having been a waitress and a hostess myself since high school, I rarely complain about service in a restaurant, but this host was pretty rude to begin with on top of making a mistake in seating. I wasn’t going to wait another 30 – 40 minutes just because of his ignorance. Food was alright. The fried calamari was overly fried so there was no chewy soft calamari inside, just rock hard. The only good thing about this appetizer was the sauce. Sushi rolls were mediocre. That’s all I’m going to say. The service from servers were great, though. They checked on us frequently, made small talks with us, and were friendly.

TIP: –come early before Reverse Happy Hour starts and wait in line. The seating is very limited. The patio was closed the night we went and we had a party of 8. Service: 4⁄5 –Great service Food: 2⁄5 –Half off most appetizers and sushi rolls. With drinks it came to $ 20 per person which is not bad at all. There was more than plenty of food however the quality of the food is to brag about.

I love Kona. It’s probably my favorite place to get sushi because they always deliver. I usually stick to the Asian food on the menu, but I’ve tried the flatbreads and sandwiches — which are also yummy! Appetizers: You have to HAVETO start with the potstickers. You won’t regret it. These are my favorite potstickers in the world and I can be high maintenance when it comes to food. Also, the calamari is great. Sushi: Go for the(Crab) Crunch Roll, Spider Roll & Caterpillar Roll. They never disappoint. Entrees: Pepperoni flatbread is a go-to. The Club Sandwich is yummy, as well. My only complaint this past time I visited was on the Pad Thai. It’s not very traditional & it has a different flavor. I wouldn’t order it again. Other than that, I love Kona and I crave many of their items!

Fun place for happy hour and sushi. I’ve been here numerous times but just got around to finally reviewing. Their lettuce wraps are seriously it. They use butter lettuce which holds together nicely and is just«scoopy» enough to hold everything. I’ve enjoyed their many sushi rolls, as well. Today I had one with the rice paper wrapped around it, and it was good, but it wasn’t the most visually appealing. Their drinks are always what brings me back. Nothing too fancy, but strong and funky for the most part. Parking sucks at NorthPark in general. The crowd can be a bit uppity, but mostly everyone is nice and welcoming. I’m giving three stars because it is what it is. Good food and drinks, alright atmosphere and service.

Love love love Kona Grill! Happy Hour is one of the best in town. Margaritas and Appetizers are always on point. Waiters, waitresses and bartenders are very engaging!

If you get there early for a table you are good. AND please do not go with 10 friends expecting to sit together in the bar area. Sheeeesh that is annoying. Anyhoo… This review is for the bar area. I have had dinner in the dining area and I spent a lot and I was hungry again after half a walk around the mall. Ok the bar… Happy hour starts at 3pm. You have a good variety of semi basic sushi rolls to pick from if you are in the mood for rolls. If you are in the mood for pizza, avocado egg rolls, potstickers, and more it’s all on the happy hour menu priced pretty decent. It’s a hot patio spot. I don’t think I have ever seen await in the dinning area BUT the bar is first come first serve and if you arrive after the crowd keep and eye out for who is paying their tab and about to leave for a spot.

Came for their famous happy hour all day on Sunday. I didn’t indulge in any of the drinks, however I’m more a fan of the food. I had the spinach dip which was pretty good. It had a good cheesy texture nice for dipping. Then we had the BBQ chicken flatbread which I’ve been meaning to try. I really liked it ! It was very flavorful. The only other one that I really like is the corn and goat cheese, minus the massive amount of capers. The last thing we ordered was the fondue with green apples and pretzel bites. The pretzel bites tasted awesome with the cheese fondue, but the green apples just tasted weird with cheese. I wonder if I could request to have them all be the pretzel bites next time. We were all looking to just get a snack and we were full from just these 3 dishes and there were 4 of us! Total was less than $ 20. I say that it was a very successful happy hour snack.

Good deal for happy hour and reverse hh! Calamari is my favorite! Don’t forget to squeeze the lemon on it! So tasty! Good portions to share! The flatbreads are good to share also!($ 6ish)! The have healthier options like lettuce wraps and chicken satay if you want to stay low carb. Service is hit or miss but has been ok the last few times I was there. Good outdoor patio that’s busy all week! Good place to chill with friends! Great location next in the mall and good place to eat after a movie! I would come back! :)

I can’t really say I’m a fan of Kona Grill. I’ve been here twice now and both times just felt like the food was way overpriced for the quality and taste of the food. My girlfriend and I got the Shrimp and Chicken Lettuce wraps as a starter, Jambalaya, and the Big Kahuna Cheese Burger. The Shrimp and Chicken Lettuce wrap was really just a mush of micro pieces of shrimp and chicken along with vegetables. It was hard to distinguish the flavor because it was just a compiled lump of mush. CPK and BJ’s has much better lettuce wraps for a cheaper price. The Jambalaya was heavily disappointing for a dish they tagged at $ 17. The rue was awful. It had a bitter burnt after taste and it looked like it was left on the stove for way too long. The Burger was okay, but it’s hard to mess up a burger, especially if you’re gonna charge $ 12. I know I’m complaining about price a lot, but I came in knowing the price range. I don’t mind paying for good quality food, but there was not one dish that I can say I got my money’s worth. Overall I just don’t think this restaurant is for me. Maybe for people who are looking for a casual bar spot with a nice atmosphere. but I would much rather take my money to BJ’s. Won’t be back. Ever.

While visiting Dallas Northpark mall, we tried dinner here at around 5pm on a Friday. The bar area was packed already. The resto is located inside the mall by the door. People can see the diners inside and vice versa. We were watching 3 loud and big teenagers(15 – 16 y/o maybe) play touch your it type of game. Killed the romantic vibe inside. The dining area is big, roomy and clean. The staff was nice and attentive. Now for the food. We ordered calamari and eel sushi for appetizer. Its good. Nothing different from the rest. I had shrimp pasta which is ok. I had better. My hubby ordered some burger with bacon. Its alright. I’ll go some place similar to eat out.

Happy hour is from 3 – 7! This place is only good for their happy hour specials. Me and the boyfriend had gotten the flatbread, crab crunch roll and the bulgogi tacos. The BBQ chicken flat bread was the best item we ordered. The bulgogi tacos were good but the veggies on it was so bitter I couldn’t eat it. It made me not want to finish it. The drinks we had gotten were surprisingly strong. The server was attentive and not too intrusive. I would come back for their happy hour! Definitely worth it. The patio does get packed though so try sitting at the bar!

I’m a BIG fan of their happy hour. Probably because I’m not much of a drinker so cheap yummy sushi is a win. I’ve visited the location in Plano in recently and absolutely LOVED the interior. Yes, it is newer so it’s understandable but it just seemed so much more spacious. Anyways back to the Dallas location… It can get really loud on Fridays when everyone seems to be there so go on the weekdays if possible! The earlier the better meaning right at 3 or 4 because there is typically not a wait. I’ve tried a lot of items on their HH menu and loved most of it. My favorite sushi rolls are the crab crunch and fiery shrimp roll. Today though, I tried the Las Vegas roll(not on the HH menu) which was delicious. It’s deep fried goodness! The spider roll wasn’t that great in my opinion. Other items I love are the avocado egg rolls(the dipping sauce is amazing), lettuce wraps, margherita flatbread and bbq chicken flatbread. For drinks, I’ve tried the sangria and love it. I’ve tried both the red and white one but I love the white one.

My favorite happy hour spot!!! Cheap, delicious food! My favorites are the potstickers, pepperoni or bbq chicken pizza. Go to drinks are the mango, strawberry or regular margarita. Their margaritas are good and strong. This place has gotten popular in the recent years so it’s best to come as soon as happy hour starts or even a bit earlier to snag a table.

Great place for a casual lunch or dinner. Their menu is full of amazing options to choose from, It gets difficult to make a decision since everything seems so delicious! I went there today for lunch for the first time and I was very happy with my meal. I ordered the fish of the day(sorry I can’t remember the name) and I couldn’t stop eating it lol Portions are just the right size. Some dishes can be very generous, making it perfect to share with someone else. I didn’t get any cocktail or desert but I recommend you to try this place whenever you go to Northpark Mall

Kona Grill is known for its happy hour, which I have not yet been fortunate enough to experience. I’ve visited a couple of times around dinnertime and sampled their sushi rolls. Ordering off the menu is a good way to go but if you’re willing to trust your waiter’s recommendation, I suggest asking for off the menu recommendations. You won’t be sorry. I ordered the Temptation roll, which is not on the menu, and I was pleasantly surprised. It was soooo delicious! Service was great and my waiter was beyond awesome. Now I just need to find my way back during happy hour so I can experience it for myself. Apparently they serve more than just sushi and have pizza, salads, and other fun menu items. I’ll definitely have to check that out as well. Tip: If you join their Konavore club, you will get a $ 15 gift certificate for your birthday. Sweet!

Came here for a late night dinner in dallas for their happy hour. They have a pretty good deal going on that has ½ off appetizers, and some sushi rolls that are only 6 dollars. The regular menu is also available if you want to eat that too. I got the bulgogi tacos, calamari, and a couple sushi rolls. The tacos were too sweet and the sauce overtook the flavor and the calamari wasn’t crunchy like how it should be, but the rolls were awesome! I recommend the wave roll!

This is my first review, so be gentle. I love Kona Grill. I’ve had plenty on the menu but never wrote a review. The waiters are always great! I’ve never had a problem with the service. Super friendly, always willing to offer a recommendation. I can tell you that 9⁄10 I’m ordering the BBQ Chicken flatbread. It’s exquisite. They don’t douse the pizza with barbecue sauce. The slightly baked onions on top added freshness and they smother it with chicken and cheese. Nom nom! The rolls are good. The only one I’ve had so far that I won’t order again is the lobster + steak roll because the flavor wasn’t amazing for the price. There is a picture of the Vegas in this review. I ordered the chicken satay. Good flavor. BEAUTIFUL presentation. I didn’t like the the salad. Very average. It was chopped up lettuce with a piece of tomato here in there heavily wetted with a salad dressing. They give you 4 pieces of chicken on a stick. The chicken was good but it is not my go to appetizer. I also had the beef bulgogi tacos. The taco itself was a light flaky bread. Loved it. They stuffed it with a mix of vegetables which I kindly scooped out and left on the side of my plate. The beef could’ve used more seasoning but I just dashed it with soy sauce and hot butter sauce(deliciously spicy — I put it on everything, order it!!) The butter cake was good. It did have a cornbread taste at first but the after taste was sweet. Served with raspberry sauce that was extremely tart, if you like that sort of thing, and vanilla bean ice cream I believe. What’s really great about this place are the drinks and happy hour. The white wine sangria is served with pieces of oranges, kiwi and raspberries. I drank it like it was juice. The cosmos both grape and watermelon are fantastic. And let’s not forget about the apple sake, so fresh and taste just like an apple(who would’ve thought that).
