This review is solely for the ribs. I just wanted meat, and they did not disappoint. The meat fell off the bone and the original sauce had a good flavor. Can safely say this is the best BBQ I’ve had in an airport. Service was friendly too, but a tad slow. They could have used a fourth person for the lunch rush.

Please judge my Unilocal review from my hometown of San Francisco(home of really mediocre BBQ). I thought Dickey’s BBQ was actually really really good for being airport food. The marinated BBQ chicken was actually the star of the show… moist, tender and bursting with flavor… wow. Pork ribs were good and flavorful… they were not amazing. The least fav was the brisket… very fatty… but the meat was really tender and flavorful… smoky, tender, goodness. Sides were also great… fresh waffle cut fries… bomb Coleslaw was similar to KFC’s…which I adore. Three combo meal with two sides 15 bucks in an airport??? Are you kidding me? AWESOME Place was busy for a reason.

Great choice in the airport. Smoky meat it is.

Great BBQ, especially for an airport joint. I got the Baker, baked potato with sliced beef brisket. Go hot BBQ for the sauce, it’s a good medium between savory and spicy. Didn’t see ice cream there. The potato comes with bacon bits, sour cream, onions, and a big scoop of butter so big it’s not a condiment it’s a side. Go for it, this place is BBQ solace for your multi hour layover. I can still taste it hours later.

I used Unilocal to help me decide on lunch. The reviews were right. What a great lunch. My first time. At first it looked like the bun was dome kind of English muffin… not at all. Soft, fresh and full of flavor. Add the fresh meat cut in front of you with sweet bbq… very yummy. I was going to get a couple sides but the mashed potatoes looked all dried out and had macaroni from the other sides in it. I passed on the second side and ate the waffle fries. Equally good. The staff was friendly and effecient… I’ll be looking forward to my next visit to love field.

Grabbed dinner on my flight home. Went with the chopped brisket, ribs, mac-n-cheese, and baked beans with a roll. The sides were delish. The ribs came off the bone and were ok. Next time I’ll try the pulled pork or maybe a sandwich. Either way good food and great customer service. Perfect spot for good, quick, airport food.

Awful today. Sometimes this is a great breakfast. I like getting extra sausage and gravy. Today was disappointing. They have 2 new people at the counter. Tried to give me the dregs of the bacon tray. Had to return for the gravy I ordered. At checkout they couldn’t change my 20. Tried to give me a ton of quarters. I ended up canceling the order and went to Whataburger. Much better.

Review is for breakfast. I went for breakfast and told the guy: «I basically want the pork ribs, what is a good breakfast option with those?» He suggested the breakfast meat plate with 2 pork ribs, scrambled eggs and a biscuit with gravy. Grand total of ~$ 8. The meal was solid for the price — the ribs had a great taste with the original sauce and the meat actually did fall off the bone. Some of the bites were not as delicious as the others, but overall it was quite solid. For breakfast at the airport, this was a great find.

Dickey’s is a great spot in Love Field airport for a final taste of Texas barbecue. Is it mind blowing? No. But it’s something different than the same old chain fast food joints that you have at home(wherever home is). I ordered the beef brisket platter with a side of macaroni & cheese and potato salad. The brisket was pretty good, although I was already spoiled by really mind blowingly good food elsewhere in Texas, so this didn’t quite hit that mark. The BBQ sauce came on the side and they packed it well in a styrofoam container. Interesting thing to mention: they were out of turkey(even though it was listed on the menu) and it sounded like they would be for the foreseeable future because evidently there is a turkey shortage. Who knew. The macaroni and cheese was only fair. It was watery and not very cheesy. I would recommend getting something else. The potato salad was good, although it was orange. I don’t know if it was pimento or cheese, but it was definitely unusually colored. As for drinks, I do have a little bit of a complaint: the only bottled beverages they sell are beer or water! So if you want a soda to bring on the plane you’re out of luck. Not the best food you’ll ever have, but definitely decent barbecue for an airport stop.

Can’t leave Texas without having some Texas ribs!!! My last day in Dallas, I was on my way to my gate in the San Diego airport and was craving for some ribs. Talk about FALLOFFTHEBONE ribs. Yummmmm!!! I had the rib plate($ 14.50) comes with a good size rack… Choice of BBQ sauce, pickles, onions, bread and two sides. I was more than satisfied when I got my plate. My friend for the 3 meat plate… Ribs, spicy sausage and brisket. I wish I could go back! PRICE: Reasonable… My plate was $ 14.50 and the 3meat one was $ 12.50. Plus u get all those sides… LOCATION: conveniently located in the middle of the San Diego airport terminal. FOOD: FALLOFFTHEBONE, delicious, juicy, tender… Topped with BBQ sauce… What else could u ask for besides«more please!» SIDES: options of fried okra, coleslaw, Mac and cheese, … And can’t remember what else but they were all good! Definitely passing by this place next time I’m traveling through the Dallas airport!

On my way to Colorado and between flights, I stopped by for BBQ breakfast tacos. Staff was friendly and the brisket and egg tacos hit the spot. Highly recommended.

Bottom Line: A good spot to satisfy some last minute BBQ cravings before catching a flight. I’ve spent a considerable amount of time over the years reading reviews for various barbecue places throughout the country and I’ve decided that there are some tough critics out there! Many people live in a place that is serious about its barbecue and personal opinions run deep but that is ok with me. My father smokes brisket and has an award winning BBQ sauce named after my sister, so I too know what I like. Overall, I thought the food at Dickey’s was good and I have a sneaking suspicion that the non-airport version would be even better. I also think this is probably the best food option at Love Field. On my recent visit to Dickey’s I went with the beef brisket and a side of mac and cheese. The brisket was flavorful and tender and the mac and cheese was creamy and decadent. Both were good but I wasn’t blown away. Service could use some improvement. A little more enthusiasm from the employees and diligence in making sure orders are correct would be appreciated.

Got the chipped brisket and pulled pork. They were both good, but the brisket was excellent. BBQ sauce is also flavorful. The spicy isn’t terribly hot. Legitimately the best airport food I’ve ever had.

Probably one of the best airport meals I have ever had. I ordered the 2 meat plate with pork ribs and brisket. The brisket was nice and moist, while the rib was just a little on the fatty side for me. Most times I find brisket to be too dried out for my taste, but this was right on the mark. My meal also came with two sides– green beans aren’t going to get screwed up, nor will they make me want to come back all on their own. The Mac and Cheese was really good and i would order that on its own. The pasta is cooked to a soft texture just like I prefer, and the cheese is nice and creamy. My wife ordered a baked potato with pulled pork. She got a big portion and was pleased with the quality. I got dessert, she got a coke and it all came to $ 23– well worth the money!

Good BBQ for an airport location. Generous meat servings, didn’t even touch the sides I was so full. I can feel the meat coma coming on which means I’ll have a nice nap on my flight.

I have no idea what these people are talking about: the bbq brisket is perfect, the sauces are delicious and compared to the horribly overpriced other eateries, Dickey’s is great deal. Also, the guys behind the counter are really friendly and down home. Love this place! Just sorry I am on a diet and can’t have the peach cobbler!

Look forward to trying the other dishes. Always appreciate a home style approach even at a «cold» place like the airport. Food was good!

In the past couple of months ive flown in and out of Love Field a few times and during those times I seem to always choose Dickeys over the other locations in the food court. Now Dickeys isn’t the best bbq ive ever eaten but its pretty good considering what your choices are at an airport. Your better off getting the 3 meat plate over the 2 meat since it only costs you 50 cents more. I typically get the sliced brisket and the fried okra as my side. The fried okra is hot and fresh since they make it to order. If your in a rush then don’t order any of the fried sides, go with whatevers available at the counter. If your there late at night, then your meat choices are limited since it looks like their meats are smoked at another location and brought into the airport on a daily basis. Unfortunately I cant say much for the service, in the past two times ive gone there the girl at the register, always seemed to have an attitude especially when you call her out on her mistakes, like giving out the wrong change, not placing any silverware in the bag, or missing an item in your bag. Otherwise for 14 bucks it is one of the more expensive meals at the airport but very filling and a decent bbq fix before flying out.

I love Love Field for its ease and convenience, but the selection of eateries is tremendous also. I think Dickey’s should do well there because who is going to turn down bbq in Texas even for breakfast? The breakfast tacos with brisket are just delicious(heavy on meat, not egg), and so were the contents of the«Big Yellow Cup» which you knew would have to be sweet tea. I was thinking that it would be awkward holding it in the plane, but never faced that dilemma because I finished the whole thing(think Big Gulp status). I guess I was dehydrated since Social Gourmand only has alcohol in her apt. ;)

Probably the best food I’ll ever have at an airport kiosk, and at a fair price too sans usual airport markup. The brisket was legit BBQ just like their freestanding locations and goes well with the hot BBQ sauce, it was a little fatty but still tasty and fresh. The jalapeño beans were top notch and the fried okra was so fresh they had me wait a couple minutes as they fried it fresh. Wash this down with a Shiner Bock and that’s a perfect layover meal. Service was very fast and friendly, I’ll be back here if a have another Dallas layover.
