Good food, great portions, fast enough and have Texas beer. Came there hungry in between flights, got full before I got to the second half of the sandwich. The Westerner sandwich. Good stuff.

Mouth watery, delicious, brisket sandwich. Perfectly cooked served with waffle fries. In a mood of smoked brisket come here. I highly recommend this place

3.5 stars ish. Super friendly and easy fast service while waiting for the connecting flight in Southwest terminal. I couldn’t decide on what to get so luckily they have a 3 meat platter available — got the sliced brisket, pork rib, and the spicy cheddar sausage. It was all slightly above average. Portions were fair and I was very very filled! I have the perfect amount of leftovers for another meal for myself so this is definitely something worth sharing. The fried okra and cole slaw as sides were solid as well. The sausage didn’t taste as fresh so I probably wouldn’t get that again. They allow you to pick your bbq sauce and can have it on the side or on the meats which I liked a lot — ‘Spicy’ was delicious with the perfect kick for me!

I had the big bbq beef sandwich. The smoked tri tip or whatever it was, was epic for airport food. The roll it was on reminded me of a buttermilk biscuit. I had a bud light with my sandwich and fries. It was about 5 hours ago and i’m still full. my only issue with this place is the lack of seating. they have a TV facing away from the miniscual dining room and it just sucks. But take the food to another seat in the airport and you are set. BTW, the Southwest terminal in the Dallas airport was pretty decent and easy to maneuver.

I got the 3 meat platter. It was very good. I liked the spicy bbq sauce better than the original one. The green beans and baked beans were both very good sides.

This rating is more for the service than the food. BBQ was ok. Service was great though from start to finish. I don’t expect service at the airport and these employees did very well to go beyond. On to the food. Pretty good for airport food but not really good for BBQ. Didn’t taste smoked to me. Had the two meat platter with chicken and ribs with sides of Mac n cheese and fried okra. Ribs were tender but like I said, didn’t taste smoked to me. I did like that they were not already doused in sauce since that is even worse if it were. Chicken was moist and flavor but again, not bbqd. Mac n cheese was nothing special. Tasted like velveeta. Fried okra was my favorite — good amount and fried well. So like I said– a good place to beat the airport food blues. Just don’t expect great BBQ. Big surprise I know but just in case…

It’s a miracle… I have found good airport food! I stopped by here on my way to Wichita, Kansas flying from Southwest Airlines and never having been in Dallas, I thought to myself, «Dang! I need to get myself some prime barbecue!» Low and behold, there it was… Dickey’s Barbecue Pit. Like the name says, the place serves barbecue. I got a 3 meat plate– brisket, turkey, and sausage, and it was delicious. The meat was tender and prepared well. I would highly recommend this platter. However, it was disappointing because they had run out of ribs, and I feel it should be the cardinal rule that ribs should always be available. But good selection anyway. For my two sides(which come with the platter), I had the green beat(a bit salty and missing bacon– the side was called green beans with bacon) and mac and cheese(too much cheese and not enough pasta; the ratio seemed off). I would also recommend the peach cobbler– it was divine! Overall, the food was great. If you are going to be in the airport for a while, I would highly recommend visiting them because the servers are friendly, and they serve beer which you can drink while watching a sports game on one of their televisions. I would definitely visit them again if I am ever stuck in the Dallas airport waiting for a Southwest Airlines flight.

airport food is rarely good… and it is entirely possible that a local Texan may not agree with me since they have so many other Texas BBQ joints to compare to… but as a person from San Diego, California… that is my BBQ benchmark. I had a 3+ layover here the other day… i figured that any BBQ I found in the airport would be worthy of my tastebuds. This was the first one i saw. i decided to do the 3 meats(includes 2 sides)…they were out of ribs, they were out of pulled pork. the only choice left of my 3 selections was brisket(thank goodness since that’s my favorite!), i did the brisket… the chicken and cheddar sausage, topped with the spicy sauce… side of jalapeño beans and side of mac n cheese(that was out too… but i told them that i would come back and get that side when they had it ready)…was NOT going to give up my mac n cheese. so as you can see… the negative is that they were out of many items… but the positive is that they were friendly about it and even waved at me at me seat(which wasn’t close)…and told me that my mac was ready! that kind of service wouldn’t happen in an airport restaurant in SD. food was amazing! yes… amazing! i brought my leftovers home… gotta have that tonight!!! yum…i will so eat here again oh and they refilled my softdrink for free =)

If you’re looking for good BBQ, but avoiding red or fatty meats, help yourself to a 2-meat plate with chicken and Turkey. It comes with 2 sides, so get slaw and bbq beans. Delicious.

Best BBQ I’ve ever had. Sweet andspicy brisket and egg wrap was tender and juicy. Service was excellent. For 5 bucks I got 2 generous size wraps stiffed with tangy homemade slow roasted goodness. I’ll be back next business trip!

Shoulda guess that you’d get awesome Barbecue at the Dallas airport! The chefs were impressively knowledgeable of barbecue! Got the 3 meat platter, trying the sliced beef brisket, the pork ribs and the spicy cheddar sausage. The meat would fall off the bone, and the brisket was pretty tender. The baked potato casserole was a nice starchy contract to the barbecue sauce, of which they have 3: spicy, tangy and sweet. Mac and Cheese was nice and creamy. For 12.95 it was a STEAL!

Service was quick and friendly. I love BBQ and this is the first time I’ve tried Dickeys. I got the 2 meat combo plate with jalapeño beans and fries. The ribs were very tender and juicy. The cheddar spicy sausage was tasty and cut right in front of me. Beans were pretty good, I was hoping for a little more flavor. Overall very good and I will certainly visit another Dickeys soon!

Best food I have ever had in an airport. You have to get a 3 meat combo to taste it all. If you like spicy, the hot BBQ sauce is great!

Friendly staff, quick service! Loves the pulled pork and the brisket. Was disappointed as they were out of okra! The potato salad was not that great this time; however we are big fans of Dickeys and will def be back for another great meal

Needed to grab a quick breakfast this morning at the airport and stopped at Dickies. I had the breakfast tacos with brisket and they are amazing!

Friendly staff, quick service. Obviously the food is prepared elsewhere and held in the warmer; the brisket and sausage did extremely well and were very tasty. I was originally going to go with chicken and ribs, but they looked a bit dry — I suggest asking to see the food before you choose. I bet the brisket sandwich is awesome based in the brisket I had. What they considered mild had a bit of a bite to it, keep that in mind for the kids. Overall pretty good airport food! And reasonably priced!!! In an airport !!!
