There’s a lot to like here. It’s affordable, great chips, salsa and guacamole. The margaritas were tasty. I enjoyed my lobster enchilada. The ambiance was fine.

Food was just OK Service was slow despite the place being empty. It seemed that only one waiter for the entire place taking orders Hyped the star rating

I went here for dinner while in town(on Monday evening). The location is nice, right on the main street. Parking is mostly street parking, but it wasn’t too difficult to find a spot. The restaurant itself was quite busy. I was surprised at how busy it was for a Monday night. Service was good though. My two favorite things were the chips/salsa/guacamole and the hand shaken margarita. The meals themselves were good, but nothing outstanding. Overall, it’s not a bad option. But, having tried it once, i’d probably go somewhere else the next time i’m in town.

Great service, great space, great food. We had both sets of grandparents with the family so I requested a quiet area if possible. They let us dine in the back room that has closable doors that is usually $ 100 to rent free of charge. How accommodating! Our waitress was a down to earth delight. Since I asked for the quiet space I became sort of the leader of our crew of 10 and she ran everything by me and was very polite. The guac and warm tomatillo/salsa paired nicely with their perfectly crisp tortilla chips. I got the lobster and shrimp blue tortilla enchiladas with a green chili sauce. They tasted so fresh and were served hot. My sister got the Salmon and boy howdy was it yummy and succulent. The spice wasn’t too spicy and the lobster tasted amazing. I really enjoyed this dish. I was expecting it to be kinda blah because I like in Texas where Mexican food and Tex Mex are way more common. This place surprised me. Also they make their own Pineapple infused Vodka. It was on display in huge glass jars as I walked by the bar. If it hadn’t be 11 am and I wasn’t with the grandparents I would have been all about that. I highly recommend this place for a casual lunch or a fine dining experience for dinner. It is very versatile.

Pleasantly surprised by how fresh their seafood was. Ordered the seafood ceviche and it went great with their homemade thin tortilla chips which was warm when served. I also got the mahi tacos which was solid for what it was, a grilled fish taco. Nothing more, nothing less. I would definitely come back here next time I’m in town.

We stayed at The Broadmoor and I had been eyeing a stuffed poblano on their Natural Epicurean menu. Unfortunately, we went not knowing they don’t serve dinner. So, we looked for reviews and found Sonterra. We ordered the Southwest Sampler — it was OK. Neither of the two salsas(house or that on the Sampler) were very good. The guac on the Sampler and queso were both good; however. We ordered the Strawberry Jalapeño Margarita and it was fabulous!!! We then ordered their speciality margarita — which has Reposado and is served in a martini shaker, essentially giving you two drinks. It was«fine» — nothing special and didn’t hold a candle to the Strawberry Jalapeño. My husband even preferred the SJ — as it was spicier than sweet so wasn’t «girly». For dinner, we ordered the Gorgonzola Avocado Tenderloin and the Steak and Avocado Enchiladas. Both were very good! The atmosphere was hopping early on a Friday night and we enjoyed our dinner. Would recommend!

Dined on a Saturday night, definitely need reservations since they are quite popular. The highlight of my meal was the fresh made guacamole which was made from scratch by our waitress. The only other time I’ve had this experience has been in New York City. The guacamole was excellent and as usual I ate too much! They had a great vegetarian option(spinach mushroom enchildada), I just think I was too full from the chips and guac to appreciate it! The wait staff were very nice and helpful. Good option for tex-mex!

Great atmosphere, and outstanding food. The tableside guacamole was spectacular, as were all our main dishes which included enchiladas, the carne Asada and the queso. Service was so friendly, and it was the perfect low-key meal with upscale tex mex. If you’re Jonesing for Mexican in Colorado Springs, go!

One of the best restaurants in the springs. Excellent service and a phenomenal setting in downtown Colorado Springs. One of the highlights was that they make your guacamole table-side. I had the Gorgonzola tenderloin which was excellent. My fiancé had the carne asada tacos which were also great. Their jalapeño margarita was awesome and is a must try. I would highly recommend this place and I will be returning.

My wife and I were visiting CO Springs for two days and our friends recommended this place. We ate lunch on the first day of our visit and loved it, and so, we came back for dinner on the second day. Both meals were excellent! Great food and great customer service! I recommend the Anchiote NY strip meal, it was flawless, and my wife loved their lobster and shrimp enchiladas. We will definitely be coming back.

Really enjoyed it here. I had the carne asada enchiladas and they were ok, but my husband went with the carne asada dinner and that was excellent. His steak was like butter. It was the most tender piece of meat I’ve had in a long time. Comes with rice and beans and had tortillas too. Highly recommend this dish.

This is a pretty good spot for dinner downtown. I wasn’t super hungry, so I shared the table side guacamole with my sister and had a cup of the chicken enchilada soup. To drink I had the famous Stoli Doli. In the beginning they brought out chips with warm salsa, which was such a nice touch!(Warming the salsa that is!) Ambiance is great. This is a great date spot or even a place just to meet some friends. Food is tasty. Personally, I think it’s just a little overpriced for what you get, but I think the service may have played into this opinion. Service was friendly, but could have been better. When the table side guacamole was made we had already been eating the chips and salsa and had less than half the chips left. Considering we were paying $ 9 for table side guacamole, they should have automatically brought us a new bowl of chips. We quickly finished the chips we had and requested more. They never came. Then another employee came by and asked if we needed anything. We again asked for chips that never came. We had a show to get to so we asked for the check and to go boxes. We had only eaten 1⁄3 of the guacamole because we had nothing to eat it with. Bummer! Hopefully this was just an off night. Normally I wouldn’t care about chips so much, except the guacamole was really good and I barely got to eat any!

Stellar food and environment hands down. This restaurant had some of the best Mexican food I have ever had. The chips and salsa is to die for — best I’ve ever had. I had the adobo chicken enchiladas and they were fabulous. I also had a winter cocktail called The Nutty Snowman — a must try if you are a hot chocolate fan! Will definitely be returning.

Tex-Mex to the Max The Colorado Springs Food Guy recently visited the Sonterra Grill located at 28 S Tejon St, Colorado Springs, CO80903 which is an upscale Mexican restaurant with American Southwestern flair. The atmosphere is relaxed and the staff is so friendly and knowledgeable. This menu is delightful and their recipes are outside the box with culinary style. All menu items are freshly prepared. The chips and salsa are served up warm and delicious. However, my favorite dish is the Carne Asada. The beef is tender, well-seasoned and delectable. What sets this restaurant apart is the presentation of each dish — absolutely top notch. At Sonterra Grill, make sure you leave room for dessert and order their Banana Foster. It is flambéed tableside and is so decadent. What a wonderful ending to a night out. So if it is date night or happy hour, make the Sonterra Grill is at top of the list.

Chocolate chip fried ice cream. I need to say nothing more… but will say it’s a cute place with tasty food. Brent was my server and while he didn’t show up immediately at the end of the night, he apologized and more than made up for it after he did show up.
