Delightfully delicious food, that even the pickiest of eaters enjoyed. Great service! And an opportunity to try your meat before you eat! This household gives this place 7⁄5 stars. Cheers!

Super disappointed!!! Basically a less impressive chipotle. Food was bland burritos were all rice and beans and the super spicy meat and salsa was about as hot as cracked pepper. After reading reviews and talking to people we expected good food and that is not what we got! Totally boring and forgettable. Won’t waste my time or money again!!!

This place had wonderful service, and incredibly fresh and affordable food. The tortillas are made in house and you can definitely taste the difference. Staff was informative, friendly, and came by our table after we paid and had our food to make sure everything tasted good. I had a carnitas burrito and my boyfriend had the barbacoa burrito. So happy we chose this place to eat.

I love this place — when you go in they offer to let you sample the meats, so you know which one you like. The Pork Rojo is amazing. Tortillas are made in front of you, and the staff is always so friendly and good at what they do. I’ve happily taken friends here, both for breakfast burritos and for dinners and they’ve always been thrilled with the food. I also love finishing off the meals with the sopapillas! You won’t regret supporting this awesome local business :)

Good food. Fast Service. Fresh. Similar to a subway style /build it in front of you. Verde Burrito with Green Chilies had good flavor and a nice heat to it.

Really great. I do not eat pork, but the rojo(spicy pork) was amazing! Me and my partner are down in colo springs for Memorial Day, and we are definitely making this area a must see whenever we come down here! Additionally, the tortillas are to die for, some of the finest home made tortillas I’ve eaten in my life. Friendly service and free samples make me need to give this area more than 5 stars, but alas, I can not.

Absolutely love this place! Other restaurants similar to this style have always made me sick.(Qdoba Chipotle, also, large chain restaurants are not for me) Azada Mexican Grill has always tasted fresh and authentic. The staff are super friendly and full of smiles. Favorites are the Verde beef and the verde salsa. The burrito make tasty leftovers, and that’s saying a lot coming from me. Only thing I’d change is the portion size of the salsa, when you order chips and salsa. I always want more :) Keep up the fantastic work Azada!!! You are always at the top of my list of places to eat!

Don’t let the walk up ordering fool you. The food is fantastic! Once you try it, you will keep coming back. My favorite restaurants growing up in Chicago were just like this. Fantastic food and fantastic service. Who cares about anything else.

We finally had a chance to try Azad Grill this weekend, and they did not disappoint. I loved that you were able to try the different meats before making a decision. My son and I ordered the carne asada burritos, MT husband had the carnitas burrito, and my daughter had the enchilada plate. we also ordered chops and salsa, plus sopapillas. I loved the clinatro lime rice, and the spiciness of the salsa in my burrito. the homemade tortilla really made this place much better then Chipotle. Everyone loved their meals, and and we plan to go back soon.

As a Hispanic and native Texan I’ve been craving some true Mexican food. Sadly my Mexican fix wasn’t met. The food lacked spice and was very bland. The only two things we loved were the red salsa and the horchata. Both were delicious but it wasn’t enough to want to bring me back here. The barbacoa plate didn’t come with any tortillas. Who serves a Mexican plate with meat without tortillas? The meat portion wasn’t enough for my husband he ended up eating my burrito. For the price I would rather stick to chipotle or a Freebirds. The same concept just not a major chain. I’m not sure the people of Colorado have enjoyed the true taste of Mexican food. The staff was super nice and attentive just wasn’t a huge fan in the end.

I have eaten here once. The food was good and the staff were friendly and helpful offering samples of anything we wanted to try before buying. You have to order from a sales counter and then take your seat… not a huge fan of this type of setup but it is not a show stopper. However; I am writing this review to provide notification that my two sons both ate there yesterday and spent the night sick, awake, with multiple visits to the bathroom. Word is a good portion of the Palmer lacrosse team ate there yesterday too and they experienced similar results. I would have called the restaurant to notify them before posting this but they are closed today. I would stay away until this has been addressed!

Azada’s burritos rock my world. There are like 5 different meats to choose and the staff are always willing to give you a sample if you’re not sure which one to go with. The burritos are filling, delicious, and I always catch myself trying to finish the whole thing even though I feel like maybe it’s just a bit too much. The inside has plenty of seating, but it’s nothing fancy. Parking can be tricky in town, but there is a parking garage right around the corner if you are unable to find anything in front. This place does not disappoint — oh also, the sopaipillas are .

Just arrived in CS this afternoon. Brought all the stuff into our new digs and the wife, gem that she is, said, «Hey, let’s go get a bite to eat before turning in.» Being that we are coming from Burlington, VT, where there are no Mexican places of note, decided to see what«hole in the wall Mexican» did with Unilocal.Only five minutes away. Done. First of all, I love going into new places and saying, «Make me something that you’re happy about.» Doesn’t always work but when it does, it’s usually fantastic and sometimes way off my radar. That’s how I was introduced to caramelized whole fish. Anyhow, damn, can’t remember her name(fantastic counter person), she was a bit shy but passed the baton to the head guy. It was a verde burrito and that all I know. When asked what I wanted for a drink, I looked around and THANKYOUBABY J, a horchata machine. Love horchata. If it’s house made, you can usually expect something personal in the mix. Light, touch of cinnamon, not too sweet, in a word, delightful. Two huge glasses. Burrito was great. Unfortunately, I was so frickin happy to be eating great food, I didn’t take time to take notes so all I can tell you is that it didn’t last three minutes. Dining companion was shocked. Wife was not, «You left some in your beard, dear.» When I went in to get my second glass of horchata, I decided to try the sopapillas. I just sat at my table laughing. Nice texture, enough honey. Maybe a sprinkle of cinnamon/cloves could have set off the honey but I’m always about the nuances. I seriously can’t wait to try more of their menu. Wish they had a punch card for the horchata because I’m pretty damn sure I’m going to be buying a lot more. I wonder how hard it is to make. Anyhow, glad to be in CS and glad to have an empty dance card for many, many dining opportunities.

1st visit: Great customer service. Not quite as good everything else as I’d hoped. I like the chicken here better than chipotle and I like that their tortillas are homemade. I also like that they have Spanish rice and refried beans. Overall fresh and tasty. 2nd visit: Came in for breakfast on a Friday morning really hungry and the breakfast burrito with chips n diet coke hit the spot although I coulda ate 2 burritos because they’re not huge.

Great flavors but fairly overpriced for the amount you get. $ 6.95 for 3 tiny and not very well filled tacos at counter service. $ 1.75 for literally two tablespoons of guacamole. The carnitas pork had the best flavor of all the meats I tasted. Tender and moist with a strong pork note. The shredded beef with green sauce was also tasty but not as much as the pork. The rojo was tasty but had nowhere near enough meat in it. The chili relleno was tasty as well with stringy cheese and a fresh fried batter.

Look below and you’ll see a photo of creamy, cilantro-laced guacamole in a little plastic cup. This place is like Chipotle in so many ways. That isn’t really a knock. To my knowledge this restaurant has only been opened for a couple of years but it feels like the kind of restaurant Steve Ells used for inspiration before opening Chipotle. There are no fewer than 5 types of meat hot and ready for burrito building, and the kind owner encouraged us to sample them all. I think the bulk of the meat is pork. The Green is the owner’s favorite and it had real spicy hotness that isn’t for the weak. The Roja has a complexity almost like mole(but without any chocolate). The Azada was smokey and tender. We didn’t bother to be bored with chicken and I didn’t notice anything on the menu in terms of tofu sofritas. I did notice three types of beans(black, pinto and refried which had an unexpected hint of nutmeg or cinnamon) and your choice of cilantro-lime rice or red Mexican-style rice. I almost hate myself for constantly wanting to compare to Chipotle because flavor-wise Azada does take your tastebuds up a few notches, even with the guacamole which has a little something over Chipotle’s perfectly serviceable guac. According to the workers, everything is made in-house. This includes the massive tortillas which were soft but lacked chewiness and seemed to disintegrate fairly easily. It also includes the Horchata which apparently isn’t made from a mix but comes from real rice and spices. I support local businesses and see myself making a return visit for that familiar burrito or rice bowl that I could get in somewhat blander form at several ultimately unrelated fast casual restaurants around town.

I give this place 5 stars not because they are a 5 star restaurant, but because my entire family ate some of the best casual Mexican we’ve had for $ 24. We are from another major city with a huge Hispanic food presence, and this place easily competes with the best places back home. My husband had a barbacoa burrito and I had carnitas tacos and we were both happy with our choices. The chips and pico de gallo are top notch and were fresh even though we visited during off hours. Hopefully as this business gets more volume they are able to upgrade their dining area a bit. While it was very clean, it has the feel of a run down college pizza joint. Kudos for making such delicius food!

Holy crap on a cracker! When you see a Unilocal listing with a 5-star average, you take note. Then you read the reviews and it sounds great! AND, they have sopapillas! No one has those where you’re from!(No one even knows what they are in Illinois – I ask at every Mexican restaurant, and only 1 has known so far. LOL It’s a New Mexico/AZ thing mostly.)The anticipation builds, knowing that it could all lead to disappointment if it doesn’t live up to expectations. But, you’re a free spirit, an adventurer, so you take a chance… albeit there’s little risk when it’s 5 stars, whatever, I’m trying to paint a picture here. Well, your adventuresome spirit is about to be rewarded my friend! Azada, with its rogue ‘Z’, hits the mark. You will not be disappointed today! And so, traveling through CO, we eagerly planned our stop at Azada. The pics looked a little divey– it kind of is, but I’m down with that. It’s actually like a divey, much more authentic, Chipotle; same concept. We’d heard how friendly the owner/employees were. They were indeed; charmed perhaps by my eager awkwardness, you say? Probably. ;) Many reviews mentioned being able to sample all the meats first– you definitely can, but they are all so good, it does not really make your decision any easier. The majority of my time spent here was in deciding what kind of meat I would get. I decided on a bowl with half green chili, half red chili, and as far apart from each other as possible. I’m a purist. You can add all the usual suspects: beans(& they have some with chorizo), salsas, cheese, lettuce, potatoes, various rices, etc. The bowl, while not overflowing, was of adequate size and only $ 6. I could have handled a larger portion. What it lacks in size, it more than makes up for in flavor! The green chili pork(Colorado green chili) was spicy and bursting with flavor. Amazing. The red chili beef was fantastic as well. I’m a huge carne adovada fanatic(another New Mexican dish) and this was basically that, so I was over the moon. Hubby was equally pleased with his bowl as well. Another stop on our return trip was eminent. Of this, there was no debate. Also noteworthy, the horchata is made freshly every day, one if the best we’ve ever had. The sopapillas were $ 3.50 for 4 poofy pillows served with some delicious honey to drizzle over, and while they weren’t the best ever, they were still damn good. I am not complaining one bit. They also make and sell their own homemade tortillas, bonus. I do have to stress again, although I favored the chilis, all the meats were delicious. For example, the carnitas, a roasted pork, had less seasoning than typical, but still robust in flavor, strong roasted flavor if that makes sense. In addition to the fairly large dining areas, there is a small 2 table patio outside, perfect if you have the pups with you, assuming other pups and bicycles are already occupying said patio. If that happens. Just walk half a block down to the park on the corner and dine al fresco! That’s what we did and it was lovely. :-) As I said, a return trip would happen, and it did and I even bought some red and green chili with their respective meats by the pound to take back home in our cooler since I knew our fridge would be empty.(Who wants to cook or shop after a 20 hour car ride? Not this girl!) That was $ 15 a pound so I only got half a pound of each as it was kinda pricey. It held up well, even better really with all the flavors marrying. Unilocalers nailed this one. I can’t wait to try a burrito next time, hopefully and there will be many next times. If you stop, plan to shop. It’s a really cute little area full of all kinds of retail shops, bakeries, costume shops, and so much more. I just don’t think you can go wrong here. Oh, and they are working on a liquor license too, hello Ms. Margarita! ;) Yay for road trip adventures and excellent Unilocaling prowess! :))
