Maco’s Taco’s

So flip a coin. I’ve had delicious dishes from Maco’s, bland dishes, and nothing in between. LPT: just get the gorditas, they are fantastic. Done. That’s it. The street tacos and flautas are also right up there.
If your hungry, don’t get the burrito. Walk across the street and grab some sloppy deliciousness from King Chef. Also, I’m not a trendy food guy; generally tends are a thing for a reason. The horchata, well, skip it

Maco’s Tacos food truck is a member of the Curbside Cuisine Downtown located at 225 N Nevada Ave., at the corner of Nevada Avenue and Platte Avenue in Colorado Springs. They specialize in authentic Mexican Sopes but also offer tacos, flautas, and burritos. The Colorado Springs Food Guy went there for some lunch recently and found a slice of food heaven. The Sopes were so appetizing and filling. The avocado on top was just the finishing touch to this delicious treat. The beef was well seasoned and the corn tortillas were fried to perfection. All the ingredients were fresh and made to order. I can’t forget the awesome friendly staff at Maco’s Tacos. They were very welcoming. So the next time you want a quick lunch with a lot of flavor, stop at Maco’s Tacos.

As far as taco trucks go this one was woefully unimpressive. Bland food with no redeeming qualities. Drive east for a decent taco truck this ain’t it.

Got the Mexican Sopes — wow! They were incredible. Some of the best Mexican food I have ever had and probably my best experience with a food truck – ever.
The owner is very nice and didn’t care that I slaughtered the pronunciation when I ordered.
The red and green salsas are great! Neither is too terribly spicy which is good for a gringo like me.
DEFINITELY check this place out.

Breakfast burrito was unimpressive. The green chile was ok but smothered with a dry egg, potato, bacon center. Not enough green chile and potatoes were too firm. Gordita was good, with al pastor that was tasty.
