This place isn’t two and half stars. They’re legit. I’ve only eaten there for lunch. I order carryout. They always answer the phone, food is ready quick. The $ 512″ one-topping pizza lunch special is outstanding. It may not be the best pizza you’ve ever had, but it is damn good and the price is right. Tried the hamburger from there for the first time today. Real bacon. Was six dollars and some change and included fries and a can of soda. Don’t be on the fence, give ‘em a shot.

This is the best pizza in town. Truley Italian. they have a bad wrap left over from the previous owners, which is most of the negative reviews here, but seriously, give them a try. SOGOOD!

I ordered from this restaurant, if you want to call it that, from Foodler. I only chose the restaurant because they were offering 20% off. HUGE mistake. When the food was delivered it looked like it was prepared by a nine year old on an easy bake oven. It was cold, dried bread with some kind of mystery cheese sprinkled on top. I ordered the cheese breaksticks. Should be pretty easy to make; take some bread, brush garlic sauce on it, and them apply the cheese. Not at Venice Pizza that’s for sure; it was a lesson hard learned.

I went here again today and I love their pizzas. The pan house special is the best… I’ve never dined in but their $ 5.00 specials are amazing and so is their fudge brownie! Always order the fudge brownie or else you are missing out! This place is great for lazy weekends or when the weather is bad, just call and order and pick it up or get delivery.

I wish I could attest to how the pizza tastes, but — perhaps for the better — it was never received. When our pizza was finally delivered, our phone was on silent, and we missed the call by a few minutes. We called back immediately as soon as we realized the mistake, apologizing profusely. We were told that the pizza delivery man had already returned to the restaurant, and that we’d «have to come and get it ourself.» We apologized again, to which the manager replied«Are you done?» We said yes and that they would not be getting our business again. But THEN the manager CALLSUSBACK just to keep yelling at us! We asked if it was possible to deliver the pizza again, and he said«Yes, but I’ll charge you more.» We told him that if that was the case, he could just cancel the order. He refused, saying he was going to charge our credit card anyway. And then he hung up on us. Rude, Unprofessional. And from what I see on other reviews, not really worth the trouble. ***UPDATE*** About 40 minutes after the manager called to say he was charging our credit card anyway, he called to say they were delivering our pizza. At this point, our pizza would have been about 2 hours old and we had already ordered a pizza from another place. We told him we weren’t interested and that we wanted the charge taken off our card. He said no, that he already had our money, and called us bad customers. Before hanging up, he said«Thank you for your money.» Gross.

Venice Pizza is one of my favorite places in Chicago and I am going to ignore all of the terrible reviews that people have previously written. Is the pizza great? No, it isn’t great. But for $ 20 you can get a party size pizza(it is huge, note the word«party»), a dozen buffalo wings(or BBQ wings if that is more your thing), and a 2-liter soda. Incredible. They also have a giant menu that has everything from all kinds of different grinders to varied dessert items to satisfy any craving. I think that the best part about this place is the guys that own it. They are always friendly when I come in to pick up my pizza and they remember absolutely everyone, which is a nice touch. I can’t count the number of times that I have gotten upset in Chicago at the rude restaurant owners or the pretentious waiters that can barely remember the order you placed two minutes ago, let alone the names of repeat customers. This place is the opposite and I value that. I can’t argue that this pizza is the best there is in Chicago — it most certainly isn’t — but I can say that it is a great value for the money and it couldn’t come from nicer owners.

See my Café Luigi review. Same thing, except that here I ate it all. But only because I had late night munchies.

After reading some of the reviews on Unilocal,I was originally turned away from this place. However, if you have been to Ray’s Pizza in New York or a similar street corner shop — this is the place for you. If you like a lot of cheese, just the right amount of sauce, and white pizza(which no one in this city has figured out to make), Venice Pizza is your place. I ate in the shop and was impressed. I can’t tell you about delivery problems, but if you can pick it up at the shop — give it a try. The ingredients were fresh, the crust and dough was blissful, and the service was friendly. Unlike Renalid’s…Venice Pizza does not overcook the pizza. I’m sick of New York pizza places overcooking the crust and making it a cracker. I should be able to fold the pizza and not hear myself chew it. I’m not sure Venice Pizza is five stars worthy, but everyone giving it one star has it wrong. New York pizza has grease on it — enjoy it… it’s pizza. I will be going here from now on.

Terrible. After over-doing it at the Unilocal event last night, my body needed grease. So I logged on to and randomly picked this place, saw it had decent reviews on here, and ordered a small cheese pizza. 45 minutes later, my phone rings. It’s the delivery guy — he’s here, hooray! I tell him to just ring the intercom and I’ll buzz him in. Okay. I hang up. 5 minutes later, nothing. So I call him back, thinking he must be at the wrong entrance to my building, which happens sometimes. I explain to him where to go. He doesn’t speak good english and just says«ohhhh» to everything. Sigh. I go downstairs and he’s nowhere to be found. I come back upstairs, call again. He says he’s downstairs, and that my buzzer is broken. No, you’re not, and no, it’s not. This goes on for another five minutes until voila! He’s calling from my intercom! I buzz him in. Then I wait some more. What. the. hell. I call him again. He says he’s looking for the my buzzer number and not my apartment number, even though I made it clear that they are two different numbers. I tell him my apartment number, tell him where the elevator is, and lo and behold he finally figures it out. I really, truly hate giving servers/delivery people a hard time because I know how tough their job can be, but this guy was the biggest moron I have encountered recently. You deliver pizzas all day and you can’t figure out how to work an intercom or how to stay in one place so I can come and find you? And I’m sorry to even go there, but if it’s a language barrier issue, then… perhaps you’re in the wrong job. Delivery nightmare aside, the pizza was hot and I was excited to dig in. Except that when I opened up the box I was met with a pizza that was a little overcooked, and it looked and tasted like a step up from Domino’s. Disgusting. Whoever said that this is NY style must have eaten something completely different than me, because this was anything but. Overall — terrible experience and I’ll be sure to put this on my «never again» list.

Ok I love this place! They’ve switched their menu around a few times, so everytime you order garlic bread, you get something different, but it’s always delicious! I moved on Monday night and I ordered pizzas for all my friends who were helping. They did mess up the order(a little) but the delivery guy waited at my door for 10 min because we were having some difficulty with couches and freight elevators(and was really nice about it)! AND I had an apparently expired coupon for free soda, and the guy gave it to me free anyway. Not sure what the deal is with all these bad reviews — I think the place is fantastic!

Despite the mediocre reviews here, I am gonna have to give this place 5 stars because it was… very good! We ordered the«party size» pizza, 12 buffalo wings, and a 2-liter of pop — for $ 20 mind you — on Sunday for the Superbowl. The pizza was absolutely huge(a little TOO big for 4 people), the wings were hot n’ spicy just like we like them, and the delivery time was about 40 minutes. That sounds good to me. The entire menu is varied, from pizza to grinders to random sides. Many things sounded good on there, so I am sure we will be repeat customers. Pizza and food on a budget? Try this place :)

Decent pizza — relatively quick slices to go; KINDA seems and tastes like NY style, but its too thick, and has a bit too much garlic on my two slices of plain. Will try others real soon now to further this review…

I would give it a zero if that was an option. It’s just a frozen pizza. I mean, you could buy the whole pizza at Dominick’s for the same price as a slice. Tammy’s crazy. I lived in NY, go to Renaldi’s if you want a decent slice.
