Simple but great indian food. Not very fancy but very down to earth kinda next door restaurant. Dont walk in for a date but go there with friends and a daily dinner.

Spent 3 months in Kolkata, Indian and this was the best biryani and kati rolls we have had since.

My sweetheart and I went to Taj Mahal on July 4th and were the only ones there – and were treated like royalty. The Chicken Tikka Masala and Vegetable Korma were both delicious. Mango Lassi, good. Vegetable samosa, !!! so great !!! Since we were the only customers there the entire time I think we got special treatment with trying extra food and drinks. The customer service was the best part. These guys were attentive, kind when we asked questions about the menu and made the food Fast – but not scary fast. …I could edit this but really and truly I just want to write a review to let people know the delivery may suck but the dining in service made my sweethearts first meal back in Chicago a success!

Ordered on Eat24, then showed up and there was one guy in there who was sleeping in a booth with his shoes off. He woke up and was very confused saying there was no order for me. Eat24 took another hour trying to sort it out and I finally cancelled. Still waiting for my refund… Wish I could rate the food but lost interest in ever trying to order from this place again.

Came here with family. Great authentic Indian food made to order. Parking was easy and location was easy to find.

If you have a peanut allergy do not eat here!!! I have personally gotten food from here many times, I do not have a peanut allergy. My friend whom I ordered food for does. It said nothing about containing nuts in the description. We got the food and ate it, my friend soon started experiencing symptoms of consuming nuts. I called twice to make sure the items we ordered did not contain nuts. They assured me the items we ordered did not. The allergy symptoms got worse and I had to use an eppi pen on my friend. She instantly felt better. When assuring someone food items do not come into contact with nuts you must be 100% sure. Clearly that was not the case.

After reading other reviews, I was very skeptical to order from here. Since it was late and this was the only restaurant open, i ordered Navratna Korma and Paneer Butter masala with garlic naan and mango lassi. Contrary to most reviews, I really liked the food. The curry was different than the other Indian restaurants in Chicago and closer to home cooked Indian food. I will order from here again.

Go ANYWHERE else for Indian food!!! When we placed the order for delivery and asked to charge it to our credit card, the manager discouraged this and asked for cash payment. The delivery took a half hour longer than promised. The nan was stale. The lamb tikka masala, and butter chicken were inedible. When we called to complain, the manager promised a refund — then changed his mind. Now we understand why he insisted on cash in the first place! Horrible experience start to finish.

One star is a GIFT. Ordered chicken tikka masala and lamb vindaloo via a delivery service. The food was late and cold(but we have a microwave). However, the food was very watery and had very little meat. It smelled, looked, and tasted horrible. It was entirely inedible. The restaurant is unwilling to refund our money.

I was on the Everyblock website and stumbled upon a recent health inspection citing rodent droppings in the basement. I wouldn’t eat here if I were you.

Ordered food from this place yesterday. Pathetic! Butter chicken and navratan korma had the same curry/gravy. Dal Makhani — no one can make dal makhani as worse as they do. It seemed as if the gravy of butter chicken had been added to the dal. I threw it all away. And not to forget the rotis — they were so hard I could hardly bite into them

Decent Indian food, but nothing special. It was overpriced for the small portions. A few items that we ordered were not made well either. The raita, which is a simple cucumber yogurt sauce, was completely watered down and the plain rice was not the usual basmati rice with cumin seeds that you would get at most other indian restaurants. All in all, it was below average.

Finding good Indian food in the city outside of Devon street is pretty difficult so we gave this place a shot. While it is very small, the food was excellent. Had the chicken tikka masala and daal gosht which were really flavorful. While not as spicy as most that we’ve had, it was actually nice that we could taste the food without our mouths being on fire. Garlic naan was also tasty and service was prompt. Would definitely come back and/or order as they also deliver. Only downside is that it was very hot inside, but with weather changing they may not have been able to turn the AC on.

Was in the mood to get«spiced out» on indian food so we came here(we’ve been to the Taylor St location many times when we use to live near that area). I think this is the same owner? Anyways we achieved our goal– had the chicken tiki masala, chicken hariyali(spelling?) & lamb vindaloo. Everything was delicious and the vindaloo was the perfect amount of spice. Minus one star for the kinda slow service and for being out of kashmiri naan(got the garlic naan instead-which was good but no kashmiri).

The place is small but the food is pretty decent. The chicken biryanni is really good and has a lot of flavor to It however It is a little oily. Their prices are reasonable and I would highly recommend their vegetarian entrées. I have had never had a problem with their service and they have never messed up my order.

Tried to go here to pick up dinner. They were closed. Hours on the door said they should be open. Laundry was on the front step.

TL;DR the place is good the service is abysmal. The food is good but this place is a pain to go to. I have been four times and I have never received the correct order. They have mixed trivial things up like running out of naan and not telling me until I check the order, all the way to handing me the wrong persons take out order. The guy who takes the order cannot count change so check him. They are also extremely hard to communicate with about a messed up order. For example when handing me the wrong bag the host thought I was placing a whole new order. He would not give me the new food until I payed for it… again, even after bringing the other order back. It was a pain in the ass. The last one that really irks me, they close early almost every night. Weekends they say they are open until 2am, tonight they closed before 9pm. If you have hours posted stick to them! If you want decent cheap indian this place is pretty solid, but be forewarned you will probably get the wrong food. Check everything and be ready to explain over and over again what was wrong and how you want it.

I was impressed, it’s a very small place so I wasn’t expecting much, but they stayed open late for me, the service was good, I actually loved the food… and anytime a good restaurant in Lincoln Park isn’t loaded with drunk jocks, I take note ;) Very much enjoyed the Tikka masala, mango lassi, and Chana masala. Ps. There was a drunk jock outside yelling at his girlfriend who wanted to leave him — but I only noticed that when leaving so not holding it against restaurant!

Delicious, authentic Indian food! Very close to DePaul’s campus. BYOB and a great lunch special. I had the Chicken Tikka Masala which was very tasty. Also loved the Bollywood music videos. We will definitely be back
