Solid low-key Thai restaurant. The inside is nothing special, but they have a nice patio section when it is warm out. Pros: — cheap — BYOB — outside seating — take-out is quick(usually 10 – 15 mins) Recommendations: — chicken pad Thai — coconut chicken curry

So here’s my criteria for a good Thai place: — Portions so big I have a meal for tomorrow — Inexpensive — So delicious I could cry. Good thing is Noodles in the Pot hits all these criteria with flying colors! The food came out in record time and was in my mouth faster than they could put the plate down. The only thing I did not like was the shrimp spring roll — it had a weird sauce and flavor to it that I couldn’t wrap my head around, but it wasn’t the worst thing I’ve ever tried.

Fantastic Thai food at great prices. The patio is amazing on a warm night. BYOB — what else can you ask for.

The pad Thai noodles are good. However the service is a whole different story. I had my order delivered and the driver rang the doorbell even thou I specially left instructions for him to knock he also demanded a tip. Even thou I had already paid a delivery charge.

Restuarnt has a bit of a moldy smell. Server was very rude, tossing the chopsticks to our table. Other than that, food was great(especially the chicken pad khe mao!), but I would prefer to order carry out or delivered after my experience dining in.

The food is good, except that weird appetizer spring roll sushi like thing with the sauce on top. All the ingredients sounded good on paper but it was just a weird mix. Deducting a few stars because the service wasn’t that great. I think they were annoyed at us because we had a group(of 6). I’m sure they are better if there were fewer people and they didn’t have to combine tables and such.

Fantastic Pad Thai. Arguably the best int he city Worth the four stars alone. Everything else I’ve ordered though — has been not as great. Does this stop me from ordering and trying other things? Nope — but when the bar is set so high, you can really only go down. Fantastic place though(a must eat pad thai place).

Went here at 9 pm on a Wednesday expecting some fresh food. Didn’t like either of our dishes that much. Extremely average. Got the chicken supreme and the pad prik, they seemed the same. The stir fry I make is probably better and I cannot really cook. Mahbe it’s cuz we went 30 Mins before close? Regardless I expected better based on reviews and pricing.

It was just ok, as far as Thai food goes. Personally, I thought the food was a little too sweet. We got the panang curry, with the crispy noodle things which was pretty interesting. The pad see ew was definitely too sweet, though the texture of the noodles was pretty good. All in all, not bad, but I don’t think I would go out of my way to come here again.

Best thai food in the area by far. BYOB. The service was excellent. The spring rolls were incredibly fresh and unlike others in the city. The Pad thai is soooo good. Bring your appetite because it’s a good sized portion. The menu has a lot of variety so anyone can find something they like. We will totally be coming back here!

Decent food but the items look and taste exactly like Joy’s. Its a bit scary how similar they are. I wouldn’t order again as I like Joys.

I‘m a huge fan of this place. Why? Let me count the ways: BYOB. Takes reservations. Convenient to bars. Yummy food. Inexpensive. Delivery. Quick Takeout. Patio. Service is always super quick(seriously, how do they make the food that fast and have it still taste so good?) and the staff is very friendly. We did have a reservation this past weekend and only 4 of 6 of our group was there(the other 2 showed up 3 minutes past reservation time), so they gave our table away to a group who didn’t have a reservation, and were going to seat the 6 of us at a 4-top. When we expressed our dissatisfaction, however, they quickly came up with a solution and we were seated within 10 minutes. So, I can forgive them. This place has quickly become a staple of mine both for dining in and carry-out. Their«spring rolls» are not traditional spring rolls(fried), so be aware when ordering. They are still good, but not what I anticipated when ordering. Some fav dishes: Pad See Ew, Pad Thai, Garlic Chicken, Crab Rangoon.

This is my favorite restaurant. I always order the spring rolls, to start. They are the best spring rolls I have ever tried, and the tamarind sauce they put on them is just amazing. My go-to entrée is the rama special. This is also very delicious and comes with broccoli, white rice, meat of choice(I always get chicken), and a great peanut sauce of perfect consistency. I like to leave enough sauce, after I eat the chicken, to pour on my rice. As for service, I’ve never really had a bad encounter here that I can recall(I’ve been coming here for at least 15 years). The staff is attentive but not annoyingly so, and are always ready to refill your water when you start to get low. The food comes out pretty fast, so if you are in a hurry for lunch or dinner, this might be a decent option for you. The prices are very reasonable as well, especially on weekdays at lunch time(which ends at 3pm). With the lunch specials, the prices are much cheaper and you get a small appetizer of your choice that comes with your entrée. I highly recommend this place if you are into Thai food. The rama special, the panang, the spring rolls, and the pad Thai are all winners here. Give it a try!

A friend had suggested this place to me, and it does NOT disappoint. It’s a cute little place(and if the number of wreaths hanging up in the windows and around the place is any indication, they like the holidays! ;)) with a reasonable amount of inside seating. We ordered appetizers and entrees, and they were SO good. I got fried tofu as an appetizer, and my friend and I split the spring roll. I ordered a a spicy basil tofu dish that was SO good, we actually went back the following week, and I ordered the same thing for take-out. I’ve been to a number of thai/chinese restaurants since moving to Chicago, and it seems like they’ve been very hit-or-miss – either the apps are good, and the entrée is lacking, or the entrée is good, and the apps are blah. This place nailed it, and seemed pretty good value for money, too. I have a feeling I’ll be a semi-regular(I’d go more if I lived a bit closer!)

Having visited Noodles in the Pot at least 20+ times since my last review, I figured it was time for an update! Let me summarize and say that Noodles is HANDSDOWN the best Thai food in the city of Chicago, and my love for it has turned into a small obsession over the past two years. Noodles and the Pot is the perfect spot for all occasions. I’ve done it all here– dates, group dinners, rowdy dinners, girls’ night and even bringing my parents and family members. I’ve tried a variety of dishes at this point, but my favorites are still the chicken coconut curry and the pad thai. Their green curry is also fantastic. Having visited South East Asia a few times, I can say that this place most closely resembles the Thai food I had during my travels in Thailand and brings back great memories. Noodles in the Pot is BYOB, their take away is extremely speedy, and the food is inexpensive. Highly recommend!

Very cute, cozy place in the very cool Lincoln Park neighborhood. While the food is not life-changing, it is very solid, and very reasonable prices. The chicken Thai rolls are full of meat, and the shrimp Shu Mai appetizer is something new to me, I really enjoyed it. With many of the entrees you choose between chicken, pork, shrimp, or tofu. The shrimp in my Pad Khee Mao were bigger than average and cooked perfectly. The BYOB without a corkage fee was a very pleasant surprise. Prices are very reasonable for the amount of food you get, I only spent $ 20 for an app, entrée, tax, and tip. The servers, if not warm and friendly, are polite and precise. Made for a very nice dinner.

Who doesn’t love cheap tasty Thai food!!! First off this place has the cutest outdoor area which is also dog friendly so they get super points for that! Kind of hard to find if you don’t know the area but nice that street parking is available. I tried the Garlic Chicken dish and it was okay. A lot sweeter than Pad Thai. Apps were good. Great regular Thai food place if you are looking for one!

Was looking for another Thai option near my house and heard a couple people mention Noodles in the Pot as a good option. Although Noodles in the Pot has a great outdoor seating area with nice lighting, I don’t think I’ll be headed back. The highlight of the meal was the chicken satay appetizer. I know, it’s so standard, and yes it’s standard chicken satay, BUT the amount of chicken you get is huge and they serve you a small plate full of great peanut sauce. $ 8 for a chicken satay appetizer may seem like a lot, but when you’re getting that much food, it suddenly seems great value. I love spicy foods and found their curry options to be lacking. They really only have panang curry and green curry. I’ve been on a massamun curry lately even though panang or yellow curry are my favorites. Needless to say, I got the Panang curry which they serve in the form of Panang Noodles. I expected the crispy noodles and they were fine, but what i didn’t expect was that the noodles came on a plate! Of all my years of eating asian foods, I’ve never seen curries like that come on plates. The whole point of panang noodles is that the crispy noodles get softer as they soak up the curry sauce. Instead Noodle’s crispy noodles just sit on a plate over a thin veneer of sauce. The sauce itself was good, the dish could’ve used a bit more chicken and a bit less noodle I think but it needed to come in a bowl. The service was also very poor, they just looked understaffed. They had two people serving the entire outdoor area and some of the indoor tables it looked like. Twice the servers tried bringing us the wrong food which we almost wanted to take given how long it took to actually get our food. Overall it’s just 3 stars but I don’t expect to return. I think I’d rather a Plate on Southport.

I love noodles in the pot. Initially I only ordered it from grub hub and I was constantly happy with it! I usually get the same thing because I am a picky eater and this is no exception. I get the wide crispy panang noodles with chicken. They are so dang good! I get the crab rangoons and I wish they had other appetizers that I would like but the dumplings and won tons all have shrimp in them of which I am NOT a fan. When you GO to noodles in the pot it really shines especially on a nice day because they open the garage style side door and have a wonderful patio area. Noodles in the pot is perfect for summer or nice spring/fall weather.
