WOW what a great find for Italian food. Sammy greeted us and was so nice. I had the linguine with clams and mussels. My wife had the Ogilio. We both had a glass of wine and everything was excellent. The entrees came with a delicious salad. This is one of the best Italian restaurants in the desert. Definitely will be back.

Nice small clean place. The tomatoes are as great as others have stated. Food was good and plentiful. We would go back.

I finally found my go to restaurant! Sammy’s place is amazing, the staff remembered our names from our last visit. The tomatoes are outstanding, the best Alfredo I’ve ever had in the valley and wine list is perectly priced with a great selection. I just wished they were own on Mondays, I can’t wait to go back

Sammy has had a couple of other restaurants in the Palm Springs area and this is his newest location. I don’t know all of the story… and I don’t need to. My mother-in-law has known Sammy for years and has eaten at all of his restaurants. Her favorite! Sammy was there the night we ate there and he greeted her like family. The food was very good old fashioned Italian.

Some of the best spaghetti I have ever had.(I had the spaghetti with meat sauce and meatballs.) It’s this little hole in the wall in a run down strip mall — and it’s incredible. My wife and daughters had various other dishes and all reported either 4 or 5 stars. The service from Reuben was 6 stars — beyond perfect. Super nice guy and always there. Why did we try it? Because my youngest daughter’s dog’s name is Sammy and my wife wanted Italian. So I checked the Unilocal reviews and we decided to try it. But the key reason was the name matching my daughter’s dog’s name.

Everyone was right, table side tomatoes amazing. I am not a big tomato guy but these are phenomenal. Best meatballs ever, great marinara sauce. When we are back in the area, we will be back.

Just average food located in the corner of a strip mall. The tomato salad was excellent but the meat sauce with pasta tasted burnt. Not impressed.

My mom and I had the Mista Salad to start — great flavor! My husband had the Ceaser Salad For dinners we had the Chiken Picatta, Eggplsnt Parm and the Buttreed Angel Hair pasta. All were very good. Sammy was there last night and prepared his tomatoes for the table next to us — we will have to order them next time. Wine list is small. I had a glass of the House Cab — it was very nice. The restaurant itself is a small, intimate place that is very nicely decorated — warm and inviting. Also has a small bar area. Staff are friendly. I will definitely come back!!!

Attended opening night and was thoroughly impressed. First of all, the food was spectacular, the meatballs were simply the best I’ve ever tasted, the lasagna, was equally amazing, rich, cheesy and just right, and the calamari was fried to perfection with a perfect marinara sauce to complement it. The owner, Sammy, even prepared us his signature«Sammy’s Tomatoes» table side, seasoned and flavorful first comes to mind when biting into this farm fresh dish, what a treat! Three things I found out when dining here; 1) The freshly prepared Italian dishes are amazing!(Thanks Chef Tony :) 2) I love to eat and am always worried I won’t get enough, no problem here, this is one place you won’t go home hungry. 3) Lastly, You actually feel like you’re eating at Sammy’s home, they make you feel welcome from the time you enter, until you walk out the door. Only minutes from Palm Springs, this hidden jewel will highly satisfy your Italian cravings, and it’s much cheaper than a flight to Italy. Highly recommend!

I was staying in the area with my family for a nice Valentines weekend. I saw the good reviews and decided to give it a chance for some take out. When I called it immediately went to voicemail, so I drove down to order in person. The maitre d’ was welcoming and the person I assume is the owner was extremely warm and friendly to the dine in guests(never acknowledged my existence.) After 40 minutes I asked about my order and they said they were wrapping it up on the back. When I asked again 25 minutes later they seemed annoyed bc they already answered that question. Over an HOUR for spaghetti dishes seems long and I knew my 1 and 3 year olds were not happy back at hotel. When I finally got the food back, the meat sauce had spilled all over the bag and worked its way into the«butter» sauce. My 3 year old would not eat butter sauce bc the garlic taste was so strong and the noodles were«mushy». All of our dishes were extremely bland and the noodles were very soft. Maybe the demographic that eats here requires bland and mushy, but I wish I had chosen something or somewhere else.
