Sad to say but I loved this place up until last Sunday. Perhaps its because they were extra busy but I have never been so disappointed like I was that day. The service was the worst I’ve ever experienced there and the food which I’ve loved for many years was less then mediocre. I hadn’t been here for about 6 months and had been desiring a meal from here. I have lived in cathedral city before and it was a regular spot for us to go to for lunch and/or dinner, plus I would highly recommend it to anyone. Not anymore not after my last visit last Sunday. Grant it, it was Valentine’s day but i was given a 20 minute wait period, after a while they were going to seat some people that had just walked up so we spoke up spoke up, we were seated, then we waited and waited a good 20 minutes or more just to place our order. We ordered an appetizer and dinner, after a half hr and a 3 year old who was getting tired and cranky, I asked for them to please bring us the appetizer or I’d have to cancel it and for the baby’s dinner. They finally brought the appetizer and not the baby’s food then came the dinner but not the babys food. We had to wait still for her food. Maybe they didn’t like that we spoke up about the seating situation but that was not right besides the food I looked forward to having was not at all what I anticipated. The beans tasted like they had used a fake smoke flavoring and the fish was a little too salty. I use to love this place but not anymore!

Exceptional Mexican food! Goat stew was really good, tender meat not overly spiced. Service was efficient and quick. Just became our go to in Cat City! We will be back often. Crowds speak highly of the quality here.

After walking out of Las Casuelas Nueva due to rude treatment we called Taco Salsas to see if they could accommodate 20 of us. No Problemo! We all drove a couple of minutes to Taco Salsas and were given the royal treatment. Besides that we all had delicious authentic Mexican cuisine, not the tourist food found at L C N. I ordered the Camerones con Arbol and I’ve never had a shrimp dish at a Mexican restaurant that could beat this one. This was so good I wish I had the recipe… but I don’t need it! Next time in Cathedral City I’ll be eating at Taco Salsas. Just because it’s in a shopping center next to a Big Lots… Don’t discount it! It’s delicious!!! The margaritas were also just as good. Fabulous!

This place is amazing. They took 21 people on short notice. They rearranged three tables for us to all sit together. The chairs are great. The marguerita pitchers are awesome. The garlic shrimp has incredible flavor. The fajitas come with cheese for $ 1. The shrimp cocktail is wonderful. The service is exceptional and excellent. The music is festive. Everyone had an amazing time!!! There is plenty of free parking. It is a great deal for an amazing meal. And they will light a candle for a birthday. Fun times and memories. Thanks guys!

The best Mexican food I’ve had in California! Tons of flavor, with simple, fresh ingredients. I had the shrimp poblanos, which was loaded with garlic, creamy corn, and mild chili flavor. I could not put into words how delicious this dish was. We started with a shrimp and octopus ceviche tostada, which was some of the freshest, and tastiest ceviche I’ve ever had… And only $ 3.50. The prices here are better than reasonable. Drinks are cheap and delicious. I had a cantaloupe fruit smoothie, which is made with real fruit, and I would come back just to have it again. I only wish this food was back home. The service was exceptionally warm and genuinely friendly, as well.

Great new find for delicious and authentic Mexican, sold at very reasonable prices. We tried a few of their tacos(2 tacos apiece), but could barely finish our plates because the servings are quite generous. They have a nice selection of seafood offerings, which is a bit rare around here. We’ve been loyal to the fish tacos at Shanghai Red’s for years… but Salsas’ fish tacos are clearly better! You can eat very, very well here for under $ 10.

We stumbled on this place probaby 10 years ago. We stopped by for lunch and the three of us had a great lunch for $ 11.00. It’s not as cheap now (because word got out!) but is priced fairly. You cannot find a better shrimp cocktail! Their tacos are always wonderful. They used to just have beer and wine, but now the have a full bar(well, semi-full). For the price, you can’t beat this place. I’m moving away and wish I could take it with me!

This is my favorite Mexican restaurant on the west end of the Coachella Valley. The restaurant is always clean and friendly. This little restaurant could benefit greatly from an expansion. When we first started coming here, it was a hidden gem. Now, there is a line to get a table. I’ve tried different things on their menu, but my favorite is the«tacos lidia.» Made with beef, chorizo, beans, grilled onions over two layers of corn tortillas. These tacos are scrumptious. I like to order them with rice and beans, but are filling when ordered as is. They also have terrific margaritas. The food is authentic Mexico City-style. My husband’s favorite item on their menu is the«lengua en salsa verde» with corn tortillas. I definitely recommend this restaurant.

13 Jun 2014, 11:30a A friend of ours from Mexico recommended this place for its authentic Mexican cuisine, especially the Torta Ahogada. Neither hubby nor I were in the mood for a wet torta so instead we ordered: Quesadilla Al Pastor Cocktel de Camaron y Pulpo(Grande) Fajitas Famosos Pollo We were a bit surprised as the presence of fajitas on the menu since we know they aren’t really a Mexican food, but hubby like his fajitas so that’s what he ordered. For starters, the chips and salsa were very good. The chips were very light and crisp and the salsa tasted very fresh with a slight kick. Not too spicy, but not bland, either. The quesadilla appeared first and it was a pretty good size. I’d estimate they used a 12″ tortilla with lots of cheese and meat inside. The meat was flavored well and this was a great start to our lunch. Next came my seafood cocktail and the fajitas. My cocktail was a good size and the shrimp were large. There was an abundance of shrimp and large chunks of octopus so they definitely don’t skimp on their ingredients. The cocktail«sauce» was very tasty with bits of onion and cilantro and not an overly tomato-ey taste. The avocado was also a nice touch. I had a few packages of the crackers, but found them a bit dry so I switch to using the tortilla chips. The texture contrast was also nicer than with the crackers. Hubby thought his fajitas were just okay. There weren’t a lot of vegetables with his chicken and onions so that was a bit lacking in his view. That is probably to be expected since fajitas really aren’t an authentic Mexican item. The food was good and the portions were generous. Service was good, with all of our servers being very attentive. I would return to try the torta ahogada and see if they excel at one of their specialties.

Living in LA we have a lot of access to good Mexican food. However when we are in this area we will ALWAYS have a meal hear. My personal favorite for years is there Braised Pork Shank.(see uploaded photo, under photos) It is great and at only $ 9.95 one of the valleys best dinner bargains. On this visit staff was very friendly. My 5 star rating is based on the food. It is why I go out to ear. However I will offer this piece of advice; our food was served warm, not hot. This is a very small restaurant and I don’t believe the food sat out before being served. I believe it was the mistake of the cook in back. So management be aware this could cost you future stars from new customers that read reviews like these.
