We had a lovely Sunday evening meal at Las Cambritas — it is January, so we seemed to be mainly dining with locals and just a few tourists, quite nice. Our servers were wonderful — extra accommodating. We had a mixed chicken/beef fajitas dish, which was terrific and LOTS of food. With our waitress’s help on some extra tortillas, it made a yummy lunch the next day. We also had burritos, chili verde I believe, which were delicious and abundant. Chips and nice salsa were free, bottled water just 50 cents. Best of all, the margaritas were HUGE and wonderful at $ 8. It was a misty rainy night, and a nice, nice end to our weekend. Very inexpensive, and plenty of free parking just across the little Main Street. Great find, thank you, Unilocal

During our night at Cambria Pines Lodge after New Year Day, we decided we didn’t want to spend $ 30/person on food at the lodge so we ventured into downtown and eventually settled on Las Cambritas. To our surprise, the service was fast, the food was plentiful and the experience was great. We were so impressed that we ended up going back again the next day! I’m a Native Texan so I’m used to great Tex Mex. Las Cambritas, while not Tex Mex, really had a great selection of food and it was exactly what we wanted both times. We both had basic foods, like he tacos, enchiladas and burritos but everything we ate was delicious. The servers were as nice as could be, lots of smiles and good attitudes. The food hit the spot! I think this place is slightly underrated and I hope it gets more great reviews as time goes on b/c it’s worth a visit.

After an eventful day immersing in the history of Hearst Castle, we were famished and decided to find a place to eat in the nearby civilization. We decided to head into The quaint little town of Cambria after being recommended of a restaurant called Linn’s. Got there around 6pm with thoughts of being seated with a slight wait– Lady asked if we had reservations? We had none so she told us the wait was 45 min. Screw that, I’ve got a family to feed. So we bid farewell to the fancy looking restaurant and headed down the street. That’s when we ran into a nice looking cantina– Las Cambritas. We saw another family sitting next to the window so felt comfortable to try. The young man that greeted us was very kind and made us feel welcomed. The older Caucasian lady seemed goofy and funny but very welcoming as well. We were served fresh tortilla chips and salsa. My daughters ordered the Steak Fajitas, Carne Asada and Carnitas plates– all were delicious. The salad portion was small as in equivalent to one spoonful. I had the Chile Verde. Excellent sauce with onions and nice lemon flavor. The most impressive dish of the evening belonged to my wife. The Paella. Awesome! I’ve never tasted a more flavorful rice with seafood and chicken. Superb! You have to try this. Highly recommended. The only thing that didn’t impress me was that water was sold by the bottle 0.50 cents per. I can understand that there’s a water shortage in California but had I known we could have brought our own from the car. Overall great dining experience!

I just remembered to look up this restaurant because I forgot the name of it when I ate here. I was visiting from out of town for a close friend’s wedding back in July and me and one friend were the only friends not a part of the bridal party so we needed to find a nearby place to eat dinner. I had eaten at another nearby Mexican restaurant for lunch that same day and wasn’t too ecstatic about my food and the tacos I had consumed. We were greeted when we walked in and seated promptly. We both ordered waters and were given bottled water and my friend and I both kind of looked at each other confused. I’m aware of the drought in California and the water shortage, but usually it meant in my previous dining experiences that I had to request water or like my early dining experience that day, given a small Dixie cup. We weren’t bothered by it, but I think just curious if there was a misunderstanding and we were going to get charged an exorbitant amount for bottled water. No worries though, the bottled water was only 50¢. I ordered 2 chicken tacos and some street corn(elote). I love corn and hadn’t had corn prepared that way before. It was very flavorful and a wonderful mix of flavors. I was sad when I ate it all. The tacos were also very good. I love crispy fried shells. These tacos were the tacos I wished I had at lunch. Flavorful, a mix of textures and mmm that fried crispy shell! Service was good. Reasonably priced. I’d eat here again if I’m ever in the area.

What a superb night. Excellent super huge burrito and giant taco salad washed down with an excellent(the best local I think) classic margarita. And the whole time this superb flamenco guitar being played live by John Stevens. What a wonderful Thursday. And we are both taking home enough for lunch tomorrow. Service was excellent and attentive.

The service was a bit slow at the beginning(5 o’clock) and the place was empty. The fact that you have to buy bottled water because of a «water shortage» was strange. I’m not into paying for water. Drinks came out in a reasonable amount of time. The waiter told us he was possibly being sent home so he may not be able to take our order.(Take it and pass it on to our next waiter!) In comes the waitress… In a timely manner. Took our order immediately and got things going. Food and service ended up great. I would recommend this restaurant. 4⁄5 due to water issue.

Went for lunch during a car repair on a road trip. Naureen couldn’t have been more friendly and personable. She gave our dog treats and water soon as we sat down, took great care of us. Food was great, lots of veggie and good fish options for our pescatarian crew. We took our sweet time and decided this will be our new go to spot for any future trips that involve passing Cambria. The town as a whole and the people in it are all genuine and fun.

You just can’t please everyone, I’m glad I ignored the one star reviews. My family enjoyed our dinner on the patio with our two Dalmatians. Our dogs were treated like royalty(which, of course, they are) and we had a great evening. Food was good, service was great. The staff made us feel like old friends and we smiled all through dinner. Our drinks were refilled as fast as we drank them, and they kept the fresh chips and salsa coming. The roasted corn on the cob was OMG so good. We had enchiladas, salads, and tacos and we all cleaned our plates.

Try to block out the snotty reviews. This place is not cheap with the tequila in the Margaritas, the kids menu is perfect for little people, my shrimp cocktail had huge shrimp and the rice and beans were better than average. If I could make a recommendation, they need to rethink their chips. If you are traveling with your family, this is an easy place to have a meal.

By far the best quesadillas I have ever had. Can I move in so I can eat them everyday? Carne Asada. Heaven.

Reviews of this restaurant are all over the map. Some love it, some hate it. Having been in food service for 18 years, and formerly a manager of a Mexican restaurant here’s what I was able to observe from my visit today: The food was hot, and fresh. Everything was prepared beyond my expectations. One of the best Carnitas I’ve had. Portions are generous, even the children’s. The server was attentive, and the other waitstaff backed her up. We wanted for nothing. The patio dining was comfortable, no flying insects and provided quaint ambiance. Even though the restaurant became crowded and the patio packed with patrons enjoying live music, the wait staff had it together. I ordered a cocktail from the bar which was served correctly and tasted like it was a little over pour, so they certainly didn’t scrimp on the alcohol. All in all, this establishment was great. I would return again.

The worst Mexican food I’ve ever had. Mahi fish tacos was overlooked, tortilla was very dry, beans were microwaived, camarones cocktail — shrimp was very warm, guacamole and salsa was served in a plastic cup(wow)… Overall service was so-so. Nothing good about this place unfortunately. Please save your money and go elsewhere.

We were just looking for a midday snack between shopping downtown. We ordered the avocado frito and the quesadilla to munch on. Freshly brewed unsweetened iced tea is pretty much the way to my heart so a definite win! We appreciated the outdoor patio seating option and friendly service. Not our favorite meal in Cambria but definitely a solid midday choice. Flyers advertised live music on Sundays!

We had a delightful meal here last Saturday night– probably one of 6 people that did so(Cambria goes to bed a little on the early side.) The wife and I were in celebration mode, as it was our anniversary night– and we LOVE Mexican food! As I said, the restaurant was totally dead while we were there, so it’s hard to judge atmosphere, but it was definitely a cute place right on Main Street. We had a pitcher of Margaritas(4x the price of one glass) which ended up being great because we poured about 6 glasses into our cups. Chips, salsa and guacamole are fine– certainly not worth writing home about. I feel like the four stars is just for the sheer amount of food you get. My wife had fajitas for one. It was for one… YEAROFEATINGFAJITAS. I had the Coronado Burrito. To be fair, it did say Grande… But Grande was an understatement. The Coronado Grande Burrito should actually be called The Coronado Grande Problemo With Your Stomacho if You Finish It Burrito. It was good, really good. I put carne asada in it which was cooked nicely. But seriously, I’m not kidding you, the portions were gigantic. Be prepared to take home, split the meal, or plan on spending the night regretting your life’s choices. Overall, $ 70 for a pitcher of top-shelf margaritas, two gigantic meals, and gauc. I don’t think it can get much cheaper than that!

Unfortunately, we forsook Linn’s(which is across the street) to come here for Mexican food. ATMOSPHERE: Carpeting in the dining area with remnants of the meals of patrons past ground into it’s very fiber. Not appetizing. At all. FOOD: I had what was called a ‘Super’ burrito. It was not super and it was huge, humungous, gargantuan(and not in a good way). Eating the food here was the culinary equivalent of reading the 1000 page book«On the History of Western Civilization» for English class. Bland, boring, tasteless. You’ll find yourself halfway through waiting for it to end. VERDICT: My suggestion if you eat here: BYOS«bring your own spices». I have had many, many better Mexican meals.

We were looking for a quick cheap meal in Cambria and went to Las Cambritas. I had the combination chili relleno with a taco. The tacos come in small and larger and thankfully I got the small. It wasn’t small at all and was quite delicious! The relleno was wonderful too but I have noticed that a chili relleno can be pretty mild or it can be Holy Cow spicy! This one was the later and I felt the heat for a while after. Don’t let the three stars discourage you in any way from going. If we lived in Cambria I would probably eat there twice a month. Very good honest food and very fair prices. Oh and then you go across the street to Lynn’s for you pie.
