Yup. The only boba place around that has soy milk. Great Thai tea. Muah! They also have some full leaf teas for purchase which is cool. The worker I interacted with was a cool dude and friendly. Must try if you are addicted to boba like me and my henny.

This was great! Delicious gelato and the boba and other offerings looked good too, though we didn’t try them. The guy behind the counter was very helpful, and even remade our drink when we accidentally ordered the wrong thing. Great stuff!

I ordered a matcha milk tea with boba, not realizing that matcha usually comes as an ice blended(good to know since they don’t tell you). The guy was super nice and remade my drink over ice as I wanted it. Plus the gelato is super thick and creamy!

Best gelato and right in the Village! We really enjoy the different flavors of gelato. We’ve become regular customers there.

Ehhh… should have sampled the gelato first, but we didn’t ask nor were we offered any. The gelato was sticky and gummy-like in texture… enough of a turn off that neither of us finished and ended up throwing our gelatos away. Went to the North Pole store instead and got Dreyer’s ice cream instead. The guy at the counter wasn’t very welcoming and seemed like he couldn’t care less that we were there. The place didn’t feel very ‘clean’. Disappointing.

I love the essence of this spot. It’s great that you can smell all the teas in their cute little glass jars. I got the chai with milk, honey and sugar and it’s amazing! Customer service here is great! George cares a lot about making people happy and buzzes around that kitchen like a man who knows what he’s doing. He altered the people in front of us’ drinks a good four times to get it exactly how they wanted(one lady got tea and didn’t like the«tea» flavor. Go figure). He’s a very pleasant person and people like that is what keep chstomers coming back. Only here for a quick trip but I’ll be back!

MMMM gelato. They had so many unique flavors, it was hard to decide. Samples were freely given. A very small place but they handled the big crowd of mountain bikers I was with efficiently. They gave 10% off for showing you checked in online.

Really odd culture in this shop. Poor customer service despite good gelato. I was so peeved I lost my appetite and trashed my gelato just after a few bites. If you don’t mind being patronized, head on over!

My fiancé and I have been stressed out with work and life in general, so we decided to take a quick weekend trip to Big Bear Lake to de-stress a little bit. Our trip was great, all except for our brief stop at the An Ran Ju Gelato & Teahouse. It was a sweltering afternoon and we wanted a nice cool treat. When we entered the shop, there was no one present at the front, but we could see two gentlemen talking in the back room so we just wandered over to the gelato display to scope out the flavors. After about 5 minutes, a gentleman wearing glasses came out and said, «Oh! I didn’t even hear people coming in. Wow!» He seemed annoyed that we had not made our presence known to him. My fiancé just smiled and asked, «Can I please try the coffee flavor?» The man apparently took offense because he answered very, VERY sarcastically, «Oh, can you? CAN you? I don’t know if you can. CANYOU?» My fiancé is a very sweet-natured and sincere person, so the attitude and sarcasm went right over his head and he didn’t take the bait. So the man went on to clarify, «Okay, I’m just a stickler for proper grammar.» He proceeded to scoop up a sample and handed it over. Then he asked me if I wanted a flavor. I politely declined and ushered my fiancé out of the shop. Emphasis on politely. This took tremendous self-restraint on my part because I was ready to blow up on this rude, unnecessarily precocious person for treating us this way. I had NOIDEA we were going to encounter the GRAMMARNAZI in a bum-f*** middle of nowhere mountain village! Heck, I thought Big Bear was a place to unwind, relax, enjoy being AWAY from the tedious, stressful working world. But no, oh no. The Gelato Grammar Police was not having it. He just couldn’t let one little word slide – from a complete stranger who was about to provide patronage to his sad little establishment. Oh no, he had to show this uppity random stranger that he was a big, bad, large-and-in-charge SOMEBODY. As for the gelato, I will say it was probably tasty because we ended up finding the exact same brand of gelato from the Tea & Coffee Exchange a few blocks away. They don’t have as large a selection at the T&CE, but at least they didn’t serve up their gelato with a side of pompousness and hostility. We had walked into the An Ran Ju Gelato & Teahouse with absolutely no attitude, no entitlement, no intention to start anything with anyone. We just wanted a freaking scoop of gelato! Way to go, An Ran Ju, keeping it classy!

Went to big bear for a family trip and found this gem in the village. One of the workers there had a very humorous personality that really gave this establishment 5 stars. Customer experience was what made me decide to give this place 5 stars.

Ahh I love this little place. We stayed in the property for the first time in the main downtown area, and this little shop was downstairs. The boyfriend had brought me some boba from the place and raved about the tiramisu and dark chocolate gelato. I eventually stopped by myself the day we were leaving, got some cherry gelato and loved it. The owner of this place is super nice and friendly, I only wished we had visited him sooner! If you’re ever in the area and looking for something cold and want something different than just ice cream. try the boba or the gelato here. :D

What a surprise to find a tea house in Big Bear! The owner is present and available to answer questions about his teas. Selection is broad, includes caffeinated, decaffinated, and herbal. Teas are fragrant and made to order. The lavender tea served cold with boba was refreshing. My hubby enjoyed his jasmine oolong, served hot. Although we didn’t sample the gelato personally, it looks good. Ask for the frequent buyer card too, and get a free drink after you purchase several.

We took the day to wander about Big Bear for Valentine’s Day. Mid afternoon found us craving ice cream, but once I saw the gelato sign, I knew where we were going. The proprietor was friendly and explained some of the flavors to us, including the«rich cherry gelato with fresh Bing cherries» and what I thought was chocolate chip, but he described as a «decadent vanilla with rich dark chocolate shavings… It’s how the Italians do chocolate chip but so much better.» I was sold! Upon asking for a small, he looked at my Star Wars shirt and waved his hand, saying«That is not the size you are looking for.» So I ordered the medium! He laughed and couldn’t believe that actually worked. The gelato is amazing, the proprietor is awesome, and I can’t wait to try out their teas next time too!

I came here to satisfy a gelato craving while in Big Bear. Overall, I had a good experience. The staff was very friendly and let us sample as many flavors as we wanted. He even let us mix multiple flavors into a single order. My favorite flavors were the vanilla with black cherries and pistachio gelato. The gelato had a lot of flavor and the texture was rich and creamery. I would definitely come back. Unfortunately, there isn’t a dedicated parking lot so it was challenge finding parking(it was raining hard!). Luckily one of the free parking spots along the street became available. This place is located is a nice area for walking around, shopping, and bar hopping. It’s also walking distance from the lake too.

Walking around the village, we saw a gelato and boba place; so of course, we had to try what Big Bear has for boba drinks! Place is a bit small, and the man who works there was somewhat weird but I must say, the boba drink was pretty good. We ordered regular milk tea with boba, it was actually the last batch of boba, so it was only meant for one drink –_– But we also tried the gelato. We got half and half – strawberry cheesecake and mango. It was very good! Nothing to sour and sweet, it was perfect! Especially the mango, it was fresh and it seems like it’s all natural! If you’re around the village, check this place out! Gelato is always perfect for any kind of weather ;D

Small little spot to get gelato and boba. — Thai Tea with Boba — $ 3.50 — It was decent. Nothing like 626 boba but a good alternative when your in Big Bear. — Gelato — $ 5.00 for a large cup — I got three flavors. They give pretty hefty scoops. Pistachio, praline, and cookies and cream were all good and creamy. Sad they do not have cones! Ice cream is a lot better then North Fudge. Good spot if you are craving boba and coneless ice cream.

BEST place for dessert in the Big Bear area. It’s new, and there isn’t a very distinguishable sigh, so I think that’s why they don’t get much business. But their gelato is great and they have a huge selection of flavors. Also, the owner is incredibly sweet and I sincerely wish him success!
