Big Bear Village Lodge

Bill is really nice, the room was way bigger than we expected, very cozy and so perfectly located we only drove to the lifts, we will definitely stay again!

San Diego has been so flipping hot we just couldn’t take it anymore so we took an impromptu trip to Big Bear primarily to take advantage of the cooler mountain air. This has to be the best value in BB. I scoured the internet for a room that seemed like it would be comfortable to hang out in and wasn’t too expensive and this seemed like the best combination. It was even better than we expected!
First, the place has kind of a B&B feel; the owner lives on site and is always only a phone call away if you find yourself needing something. Since we hadn’t really planned this trip in advance, we showed up really late and he was very accommodating of our late arrival. Check-​in was easy and the hotel is right in town and has its own parking. The room was spacious and technically had room for 6 people, although 6 would have felt really tight. Also, we didn’t really use the kitchen but we checked everything out and it was well-​stocked. You are responsible for washing your own dishes, which means the person before you was responsible for washing THEIR own dishes so it’s worth giving them a quick check before use.
All in all, we had a great time and if we planned this trip better in advance, we would have used the kitchen and the room more to its potential!

Stayed here for the first time this year. the people that run the place are super nice. This location is also dog friendly and right on the main street in the downtown area, easy to food and shops and a quick walk down to the lake to watch the fireworks for 4^th of July.
Just a few complaints… it got a little warmer than we are used to in Big Bear. the place we rented had fans, but it was too hot for my liking while we were there. Also, the previous occupants leave things in the fridge and freezer. Ice cream didn’t seem so weird in the freezer, but there was a bowl of water with some sort of solid meat in it frozen in there. And some beer and water bottles that look like they were covered in yucky stuff – ugh.
Would be willing to stay here again, but be prepared to clean out the fridge first if you’re going to put anything in it.

We stayed here for the weekend (in October 2014) to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday. Great place!!! The location couldn’t be better, the rooms were huge and clean, and the manager was so friendly. We will definitely stay here next time we’re in Big Bear.

Overall we loved this place! The location is great and the rooms are cozy. The room had a fireplace and hot tub which madeit lovely. My only complaint is some maintenence needs to be done to small things. For example, the closet door was broken and the kitchen items were in extremely used condition making it hard to cook.
I would stay here again because overall it was lovely, I will just bring a few more of my own items.
*bonus* The owner was very sweet and provided coffee and hot chocolate in the room for free

The room was very clean and cozy. The owner is very friendly and super nice, he even gave us a free small tube of tooth paste because we forgot to bring one. It’s in a perfect spot right in the middle of the shops it is a great place to stay I would definitely stay here again

This is my «go to place» in big bear!
I can go eat drink dance, whatever I want
And just have fun-​with no worry about driving, I walk back to the room!

Nice spot in the middle of the village area so close to the night spots. The room was really big and has a real kitchen (dishes and cookware included, wow) The owner was honestly concerned about us enjoying our stay. The room was clean and quite. Overall a good experience.
