The owners are incredibly sweet. The sushi is delicious! Fresh. Done right in from of you. Totally worth going to! Glad I found everyone’s rave reviews here on Unilocal

My husband and I were looking for a good nearby place that served fresh sushi instead of pre-made sushi on a moving belt(gross). We were pleasantly surprised when we found this place on Unilocal that is only a few minutes away. It wasn’t busy, so we were cautious about how good it could really be. However; the service and the food were both outstanding! We ordered 3 of the rolls off of the menu and they were so fresh and tasty… But it was also a lot of food. We could barely finish! We will definitely return to this little gem.

Amazing service, great place and awesome atmosphere! Family owned and they make you feel at home. The food was amazing! Each roll had its unique flavor. Very fresh! Convenient location. The happy hour was perfect for on a budget we tried half the menu!

I’ve had sushi here 3 times, sushi is fresh and tastes ok(I would say the taste is above average it the price is too high for what you get.) I came in tonight, there was one customer before me that was eating in and my order was to go. I sat there for 30 minutes in order to get my 4 rolls ready. Paid $ 40 for 4 small rolls(you can see the picture) The wait time was unacceptable as they didn’t mention to me that it would take that long. I would have given this place a 3.5 star but since I can’t I have to go for 3 since the wait really bothered me and they didn’t even apologize.

Went here for lunch. No crowd and no waiting. Very good sushi and extremely nice people working. It is a little more pricey than other sushi restaurants, but it was worth it.

Short version of my review What are you waiting for? Go Go Go! Long version … My boyfriend recently moved and he was telling me about the near by restaurants that we needed to check out. So one morning we decided to go get some breakfast and we found biscuits café, which we didn’t really like. As we were leaving I had remembered seeing a sign that said something about sushi, so the next time we wanted to go out to eat we decided to look for the sushi bar, it was a bit difficult to find since it’s so small from the front. When we came in we were greeted with big smiles and the place was beautiful. The cook was very friendly and so was our waitress, they chatted with us the entire time other than when we were eating. We ordered the jalapeño bomb as an appetizer and it was soooooooo delicious but very spicy, we also ordered the crunchy roll and Mexican roll which had us stuffed. Although I knew I couldn’t eat anymore my boyfriend has me obsessed with mochi ice cream and I couldn’t resist. The mango and green tea flavors were absolutely yummy! We’ve visited this place twice already and loved it both times, very clean and they make you feel so welcomed.

Although the place is very clean, very friendly service, you can tell the quality of the food you’re going to get from a sushi restaurant based on soy sauce, wasabi and ginger. Sadly, this restaurant serves artificial wasabi and soy sauce. The rolls are good enough but not the best.

Ended up here thanks to previous Unilocal reviews and I must say it surpassed my expectations. The sushi tasted great and the owners were really nice and friendly. I really enjoyed the sushi and customer service. The happy hr between 7−9pm is definitely worth checking out.

My friend and I had planned to meet up at Toshi’s on Friday night after work for dinner, but there was about 45 minutes to an hour wait – normally would be fine, however, we had a six-month-old with us. We really wanted sushi and Kajitsu has really good reviews, when I called there wasn’t a wait. Huh, that’s interesting that they aren’t very busy on a Friday night. Indeed, when we got there… we were seated right away because there were only two other parties in the restaurant. Visually, it looked more like a rotating belt type of sushi place. The décor wasn’t fancy, they had Halloween decoration still around and there was a small television set in corner which I only noticed because Morgan Freeman came on the screen. Looking at the menu, my friend and I both thought the Tempura Spicy Tuna Roll sounded good so we ended up ordering two of them, Mexican Roll, Philadelphia Roll, Veggie Roll, Yellow Dragon Roll, Seared Salmon, and Edamame. I know! It’s a lot of two people and a baby. The edamame was alright, my friend was not impressed by it. We were very disappointed by the Tempura Spicy Tuna Roll – that was not good and we ordered two of it. I guess I thought the tuna was deep-fried not the entire roll, the batter had a dense consistency and the rice had a weird texture after frying. All the sushi rolls were decent, but nothing out of the ordinary. The service was amazing and our server was so hospitable! Water was always being refilled and she checked up on us. I decided I reserve three stars for places I would go back to, unfortunately, I probably would not drive out to Beaverton to eat here again even though service was great.

I have mixed feelings about Kajitsu. I would give 3.5 stars if I could. I would NOT recommend the nigiri. I tried the maguro and hamachi nigiri and both did not taste fresh at all. However, the rolls I tried were pretty good. The 911 roll is a warm roll with spicy ahi, unagi and cream cheese that is coated in tempura batter and cooked. Be warned that this roll is steaming hot and will burn your mouth if you don’t let it cool down! I also tried the aloha roll(spicy ahi, cucumber, topped w/albacore), which I thought was decent. One good thing is that there was no wait on a Friday night at 6:30pm. Oh and they also have a Unilocal deal for checking in!

I have no idea where to start about this restaurant because it is really good! So I’m a student that live in Beaverton and I frequently get foods here. I love the beef teriyaki A LOT!(This what makes fall in love with this restaurant at the first place). I also love 911 rolls, jenkins roll, baked salmon roll, and salmon skin roll. Their price is descent for college boy like me, and another winning point of this restaurant is their customer service. The husband and wife are so friendly(and funny too!) and they always treat the customer like a king. Everything that went wrong in their food, just say it nicely to them and they’ll try to make it up for you(i think it’s really to find Japanese food with this kind of service). Sometimes when they’re busy and you are ordering sushi, maybe it will take a while. But that’s the selling point of sushi, because it’s handmade and use heart to make it(this heart thingy kind of overrated haha sorry). Most sushi places in Portland area have to wait in long line as well just to experience a dish. So I think this restaurant also worth your time to wait as well. The owner(husband and wife) used to live in Los Angeles and they already experienced working in the kitchen for 15++ years, maybe that’s the reason why they are able to be so friendly with customer. Negative side: they closed on Sunday which makes me sad because I always want to get a lunch after church

Stumbled across this place whilst visiting friends in Beaverton over Christmas. I ended up coming back several times during my stay, the food was that good! My highlight was the tuna tower, it looked absolutely stunning and tasted as good as it looked. I tried several of the rolls and the teriyaki chicken was a favourite of mine too. The portion sizes for the price are extremely generous, I never left without feeling stuffed! Unusual for me in a sushi joint. Service was friendly and the whole place had a more relaxed feel than some of the more pretentious restaurants I visited in Portland. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a place to spend some time chilling and eating some delicious food. The only downside is that I live so far away I can’t eat here regularly!

Where do I begin? This place is located off Baseline next to Biscuits Café. Fairly new. Owner was back overseas(Indonesia) so others were covering for him. That should have been the first sign… We came in on a Thur night and we were one of two tables. This place seems like they specialize in rolls and we should have just stuck with that. We ordered a Shrimp Tempura roll, spicy tuna roll, creamy scallops(nigiri), chicken udon for the kids, and out of curiosity the spicy pork ramen. In a word, BLAND. Very bland. So bland it’s laughable. Food court sushi can taste better than what I got here. — Chicken ramen was boiled water with some bouillon seasoning barely noticeable. The chicken tasted processed and came from a frozen bag, it sure wasn’t fresh boiled chicken breast. — Spicy pork ramen, same thing, the broth from an instant noodle bag has more flavor. I admit the spicy pork was grilled and put on top, that actually was tasty. Ramen noodles were literally the same type that comes from the instant variety. — Creamy scallops barely had any mayo, portion wise it was okay. — Spicy tuna roll was not remotely spicy. I’ve had the deli stuff from Safeway and QFC that’s better than this! Don’t believe me… go in and try. — Shrimp Tempura Roll, well I figured they couldn’t screw this one up. it was just deep fried shrimp with a simple sweet unagi BBQ sauce. This tasted fine, but there’s nothing hard that goes into making this. I will not be coming back and I’ll be sure to tell my sushi fanatics to avoid this place, there are way better places within 2 miles of here. Like I mentioned before, their forte seems to be rolls and basic nigiri and you pretty much have to stick with that part of the menu. The other parts of the menu were kind of a joke. I knew going in the cooked foods probably wouldn’t be memorable, but they actually were memorable b/c it was so tasteless. 4.5 stars for cleanliness 3.5 stars for freshness 4.0 stars for friendliness 1.0 stars for taste 0.0 stars for authenticity You are WAY better off going to the sushi joints nearby on Regatta or 185th& Baseline near Goodwill. To me the 4.5 stars this place has is clearly inflated.

HAWAIIANTUNASALAD($ 11): 4⁄5 Nice refreshing salad to start the meal. Pretty big serving size and good to share. JALAPEÑOBOMB($ 5): 4⁄5 Deep fried jalapeño stuffed with spicy tuna. Dish was interesting but I wish it was spicer because it was rather mild. ALOHAROLL($ 10): 2⁄5 Nothing special and fish wasn’t cut very well because there were stringy bits. Disappointing because for a sushi place I would have hoped it would be better. My friends also tried their ramen and said it was good. I had a sip of their broth and tastes okay.

Great Customer Service | Great Food $ — $$ It was our first time visiting Beaverton. We wanted to check out this town because we heard it is an up and coming Silicon Valley and that a lot of people from the Bay Area are moving to this town, which is located about 30 minutes from Portland. So, after driving everywhere in Beaverton we were really hungry and found this place. SO happy we ate here! The owners are really friendly and chatted with us about what it’s like to live in Beaverton and how the move went for them from Alhambra(LA area). The service wasn’t slow, it was perfect. We actually liked that you mark all the things you want from the menu on one card. Prices are so reasonable here. We ordered a bunch of things: Miso soup — $ 2 House salad — $ 3.50 Combination A – $ 11.95 Salmon Roll — $ 5.25 Hot/cold tea — $ 3.50 Mochi Ice Cream — $ 3.95 I wasn’t expecting the house salad to be as big as it was. It fed two of us when I was originally planning to be the only person eating it. Food is tasty and good portions. I LOVE salmon anything from here. Also, their miso soup is good! I liked the big chunks of tofu in it: P Support these guys. Family-owned and just opened three months ago. We’ll be back :)

The sashimi is always a delight. Unlike other restaurants, they give you thick cuts and for a great value. I would give five stars, but the sushi rice is not very sticky and falls apart. The wasabi is also tastless and has a very thin texture.

Small new place in Beaverton which serves good sushi. The service was good and prompt. This used to be the old location of Mumtaz before they moved to the bigger location in the same shopping complex. This place seems to have a lot of variety of nigiri and sushi also. I wanted to give this place 4.5 stars as it did impress us, but this being our first time to the place we ended up trying a few cooked and raw rolls and I wanted to see how the rest of the servings are before giving it a 5. All the rolls that we tried were good. Best ones were the 911 roll and Fire mountain roll. The Jenkins roll and Snow White were also tasty. Remember to claim the 15% discount with the checkin.

This is a quaint little sushi joint tucked away in Portland and let me tell you, it is definitely worth trying! Prices are so reasonable and their quality of fish was great! I had been craving sushi for a bit of time and that craving was definitely satisfied by Kajitsu sushi. They have some fun rolls that you should definitely try! The seared nigiris are also perfection! Not over cooked and with that good smokey flavor of being lightly seared. If you have been, check it out!

We had lunch here today with my family. We ordered Tuna Tower, Hawaiian Tuna Salad, Green Dragon Roll, and Mexican Roll. My wife and I enjoyed them very much. We love the beautiful presentations as well as the taste of everything. They were fresh and not overly sauced like some sushi restaurants sometime do. The chef owner knows how to balance the ingredients. We would recommend their Hawaiian Tuna Salad and Tuna Tower. The Hawaiian Tuna Salad is refreshing with a touch of mango in it that makes it really tangy and sweet. I never would have thought that mango would go with a tuna salad but it does. I will definitely order it in my future visits. The Tuna Tower is another pleasantly surprising dish. We were impressed by the presentations. The chef recommended us to combine and mix them. it was quite a fun experience. Again the ratio between all the ingredients were spot on. not overly sweet, not too much mayo. It tasted really good. Now come to think of it. it is like a deconstructed Tuna Roll. I hope my descriptions does them justice. I took several pictures of the dishes and hopefully they are worth the thousand words.
