Because this is an a «I told you so» review… Lol. Seriously I’m evilly smiling laughing that mean laugh. I went to metropolitan bistro years ago(formally Mirelles bistro(see my review there) and wrote a review because the terribleness of the whole situation. I then got bombarded with terrible messages and mean comments from the management and servers. It didn’t stop for about a month. It was seriously bad, and I asked them to please stop but to no avail. Then Unilocal had to step in. So the part of my review when I said«it’s just a matter of time that there black trash bags up in the window…», well LOL that time has come. They tried changing names, they tried to hide from their reviews. But nothing can change mean unaccountable business owners. Their is a ceiling for people like that. They won’t go far.

The food here is delicious! There really wasn’t anything that i didn’t want to order. The service was a little slow and it took over 40 minutes from ordering to receiving the food. It was really tasty though. Definitely recommend.

Yum! The tomato bisque soup was delicious. The dressing on the Michoacan salad was amazing, but the chicken was a little dry(but again good flavor.) The husband also loved the soup and it paired well with his Vintage Cheddar panini. He said the panini had the right amount of cheese and crispiness

We come by hear every weekend to eat at the breakfast spot next store. Today we decided it was time to try something new! This place is never terribly busy which baffles me now that I’ve eaten here. The food is absolutely amazing, we came for breakfast. I honestly felt like I was eating at a bistro across seas. Wonderful flavor and amazing presentation. It’s actually less expensive then it’s next sort neighbor and the food is better!

Cute little place all tucked in a small shopping complex. The Portuguese Sausage Hash is so delicious. Service was excellent. Highly recommend coming here for Sunday Brunch.

Easy review… Solid service, simple and easy décor/music, good meals, kids meals were best that we’ve seen, tasted. So affordable, a great experience, we will be back. Already told 2 – 3 other people about our visit. BTW: had salad/chicken wraps, teriyaki rice bowl, salads, GOOD…

The good: awesome waiters & fantastic hummus plate. Unfortunately, the terrible main dishes, mediocre beer options, & unpleasing(to us, not everyone else there) musician are all reasons why we won’t be back. I ordered the Hungarian Goulash. The beef was dry & salty & the whole dish greasy. Fiancé’s bacon burger was average — bacon was very thin & «plain & dry“request had unrequested lettuce. Others clapped for & tipped the musician, but we did not. Just not our style.

I wish my first experience was better here but unfortunately is was just ho-hum. It was my wife and I18th Anniversary so we wanted to try something new so with my son in tow I made reservations at 12:10 and got seated quickly. Our server was just that though, a server. We placed our order pretty quickly and then waited… and waited and waited some more. After over a half hour he came out with the food but during that time no one came by to let us know that maybe the kitchen was backed up or give us any indication when our food would be out. Once our food was served, he never came back to check how everything was, the only other time we saw him was when we finished and asked if that would be all. After our bill was dropped off i waited another 5 minutes till I decided to go in pay at the register. I thought our service would be top-notch but I always have to remember this is Hillsboro, if your looking for good service go to Portland. Thanks for helping us celebrate our 18th anniversary…

We have been to the metro bistro quite a few times now for brunch, happy hour, and dinner & we’re never disappointed! Gabe has been our waiter the last few times — he’s great and a lot of fun! Seating outside is great and you can bring dogs, they’ll even give you a dog bowl for water. Food is good, live music Friday and Saturday nights. Brunch Saturday and Sunday with $ 10 unlimited mimosas. We’ll keep coming back!

Food is not good. Service is even worse. Went here for lunch with my coworkers and we all had the same mediocre experience. Salad was made with shredded lettuce. Gross. And they were served in weird paper plates in baskets. Not ideal. I will not be back.

I have eaten at Metropolitan Bistro, formerly known as Mireille’s Bistro many times. They changed the name, the Owners/Chef are the same, and the food is just as good if not better! They have a new menu with some great items and are open later now for Weekend Brunch. Today I tried the Bistro BLT and the Tomato Bisque Soup. I absolutely agree with Thom D. this was the best BLT I have ever eaten, period. The garlic aioli was out of this world and the bacon smoky and delicious. The tomatoes were ripe and I added a slice of Cheddar Cheese which made it even better in my book. The Tomato Bisque was amazing, I have never had a bad bowl of soup here, ever, and I am known as the Soup Natzi by my friends and family because I make soup all winter long and am damn good at it. The Chef here puts me to shame. I would eat here every day if I could. I also love love love the Teriyaki Chicken and Rice and the Bistro Burger which are two of my favorites. They also make a mean Latte. I appreciate that the Head Waiter knows me by name and always welcomes me. Great little family owned restaurant, excellent food from scratch, and an amazing Wait Staff.

Portland BLT review: This place nails what a BLT is all about. Ask yourself… what makes a BLT? All the ingredients need to be amazing, or it’s just not worth the dough. The lettuce has to be crispy, tomatoes need to be ripe, and the bacon… the bacon has to be cooked just right… and THICK. Metropolitan Bistro gets it. Adding to the fun, they add a delicious aioli and rustic grilled bread. I always get salad — it’s all about their home-made ranch dressing. Metro gets 5 stars for now(top of the BLT list), but I still haven’t had a BLT in Portland, and there are several places I have my eye on. But heck, if nothing else, I’m sure this is the best BLT in Beaverton!

I have been to this place twice now. Once for Happy Hour and once for brunch. Both times the service was top notch! I have sat outside on both occasions but, the inside is very nice looking. Prices are awesome for what you are getting. The food is amazing! I totally reccomend brunch here. We had the Croque Madam and the Bacon Kale strata, both were out of this world, and to top it off bottomless Mimosa’s YESPLEASE!!! If you do go for brunch the parking is very limited so, you might have to park kind of far away. Go check this place out!

The Metropolitan got us in there through about the most simple marketing tactic you could imagine: they included their full menu in the«Clipper» coupon magazine. I am an absolute sucker for this rag. They’ve typically got coupons for some favorites, including Helvetia Tavern and the Gyro House. Guess I just wrote a review for the Clipper. Whoops. The Met had been on my radar for quite some time. We never made it out to visit when it was Mireille’s Bistro, so I can’t comment there. We were regular patrons of Juan Colorado, because we like our Mexican food simple, folks. There isn’t a trace of Juan Colorado left in the building, though. I like what they’ve done with the place. It’s got an open, comfortable feel to it. No booths, but no big loss. We sat in the little alcove to the left of the entry, where four tables are kinda sequestered from the rest of the restaurant. Service was great. The fella who took our order and answered questions was courteous, knowledgeable and enthusiastic. I ordered a pint of beer(they’ve got a few decent options) and Mrs. Brian I. had some cocktail(it’s been a few weeks since we visited). The menu is absolutely chaotic! They’ve got your Asian, French and American staples covered in one form or another. She settled on the black bean quinoa veggie burger while I chose the Shepherd’s Pie after asking our server if it was any good. He said it was«very good». It wasn’t. It was very, very bland. Plain potatoes, plain lamb and beef in a very plain sauce. It was boring as piss, which was pretty disappointing. The salad that accompanied it was delightful. The champagne vinaigrette is delicious. The Mrs. enjoyed her burger. I am not condemning the Met by any means, I’m just stating that the Shepherd’s Pie was 100% a miss. It’s pleasant, local and we are excited to return. I’m just staying optimistic that future food choices will be(much) better than the pie I had.

Good service, had a great lunch. Had the Philly Cheese Steak with a cup of soup on the side. The thin beef was complimented by onions, bell peppers and melted provolone. The bread was firm but not unpleasant or offensively crunchy. My lunch was served with a special soup of the day, Hungarian smoked chicken which was also very good. The menu is global, wide and varied. Ranging from pitas to pastas and I was told the teriyaki chicken is a must try. Looks like they’ve updated their brunch hours to be open Saturday and Sunday 9 to 2. Have to give that a try as there are not many places for brunch around here.

Food C+ Service B– Atmosphere C Some out of town friends called at the last minute and wanted to grab a bite for dinner. We had just eaten breakfast at Biscuits that morning so the Metropolitan Bistro was fresh in our mind. So we decided to give it a try. We arrived a little before six on a Saturday evening and the place was busy. We got the last available table in the dining room. We would have considered the bar but it’s not well set up to eat in with high small round tables that barely have room for two drinks. We were seated promptly and our waiter was quick to come by and get our drink order. As our friends hadn’t shown up yet we ordered a couple of ice teas and the hummus and tzatziki plate. Shortly after our other couple arrived the waiter brought our appetizer plate. I was surprised at the plate as I was expecting your typical plate with a few scraps of bread to mop up the dips. What we got was a decent sized serving of pita, cucumber slices, celery and some asparagus stalks. To be honest the hummus and tzatziki is not as good as the gyro place down the street but it was pretty decent. I don’t know if they make the hummus on site but it wasn’t as creamy as I like it. I know that removing the chickpea skins is a pain but it makes all the difference. Still this was a nice appetizer and I’d definitely order it again. I ordered the chicken wraps and a small order of fries. The wraps are similar to those at PF Changs. The dish included ~five romaine leaves of varying size! a couple of scoops or the chicken filling and a big scoop of white rice. The romain was nice and crisp and the rice cooked right. The chicken was quite tasty with nice spiciness. If I had a complaint it was that the chicken was too hot(temperature) for a lettuce wrap. A few degrees cooler would have been nice. For me the big disappointment was the fries. The menu advertised twice cooked fries. If these fries were twice cooked then they need to reevaluate their process. The fries were nicely browned and well seasoned but they were limp. The reason you twice cook fries to to get that crisp golden brown fry. Personally, I’d prefer to have crisp over brown any day as limp fries are often oil as well. My wife ordered the stroganoff. The meal was well prepared with firm noodles and beef with just enough chew. Personally, I didn’t care for the sauce that was used but that’s a personal thing and I won’t ding them for my tastes. Overall, the stroganoff was well prepared and worth ordering. Two of the meals ordered were supposed to come with bread on the side but we never got the bread. The kitchen obviously didn’t prepare it and the server didn’t catch the omission. My wife is pretty fussy about her beer so she questioned the water about a couple of their choices. The waiter was reasonably knowledgable about their offering and was quick to offer a small sample before taking her beer order. Extra point for that. For dessert we shared the key lime cheesecake. The cheesecake had a nice crust, not soggy and with a nice graham cracker flavor. The cheesecake had a nice consistency, a little softer than the Cheesecake Factory but I kind of like my filling to be on the creamy side. But, and this is a big but, the filling either needed more lime juice or zest or less sugar. The sweetness overpowered the lime flavor. We’ll be going back to try their HH menu as soon as the weather gets nice enough to sit on the patio and maybe to give dinner another chance. Overall, our server was friendly and efficient. They refilled my iced tea without being prompted and quickly brought me another lemon slice when asked. Metropolitan Bistro has all the pieces to be a great little neighborhood eatery so give it a try when you’re in the area.

Holy bland. Despite excellent service and a nice atmosphere, I was pretty disappointed with the food. No… I don’t think I’ll be going back. Decided to give it a try after realizing that the near-by Biscuit Café would be a bit of a wait for our party of 12. we quickly discovered, however why it was so easy to get right in. Initially, I think we were all just relieved to sit down, being a brisk 30 degree type morning. That, and with each of us having a couple kids we didn’t need much convincing for immediate seating. It only got better after looking at the menu and realizing that they offer a little more then your average breakfast spot, such as a chorizo burrito or «Eggs Haman,» in addition to a «kid’s menu.» It appears that they would deliver only on paper. For example, my choice of Eggs Haman were a couple poached eggs on top of a bed of mushrooms, tomatoes, onions and parsley. I couldn’t eat much of it, even after adding table salt. Most everyone around seemed to feel a similar way. From the Portuguese sausage hash to the aforementioned burrito, no one enjoyed their food. Maybe in the most fitting example, even my friend’s young son wouldn’t eat the French toast in syrup. Didn’t think that ever happened.

My daughter told me about this place.(She goes to school with the owner’s son.) The name of this bistro has recently changed. Used to be Mireille’s Bistro.(sp?) I made plans to meet a friend of mine there for lunch. We were warmly greeted as soon as we walked in. I immediately liked the feel and décor of the place… very warm and inviting. A nice male server/host showed us to our table and immediately took our drink order.(It was a bonus that it wasn’t very busy so we got a great table.) After reading the great reviews on this particular menu item, my friend and I both decided to get the Korean teryiaki chicken with rice. While we were waiting for our food, we were talking to the 2 guys working there as waiters/hosts(?) They were both extremely nice with a great sense of humor. We truly had a great time with them.(another nice bonus!) Our food came out at the perfect time, piping hot and looked yummy. And it was… The chicken was so tender it basically fell apart with just a fork. We both agreed with the prior reviews on Unilocal at how good this was. We both ate every bite. On to dessert! We were both too full to eat there so we got ours to go. I picked the lemon bar as I just couldn’t pass it up. It was not too tart, nor too sweet and had a delicious, flaky crust at the bottom. I wish I had known about this place sooner! It’s so easy to get there with ample parking. I will definitely be returning soon for Sunday brunch!

A semi-hidden neighborhood favorite/gem. Flavors from around the world combine with a charming décor and awesome service. The Hungarian Gulash, Beef Stroganoff, Shepherd’s Pie, and Swedish meatballs are all incredible, as are the pub burger and steaks. Daily specials are always a pleasant surprise. The beer selection never disappoints and reflects some of the best the Pacific Northwest has to offer. You will find Firestone Walker and even Boneyard’s Hop Venom on tap, a rarity for a restaurant. Highly recommended, and never too busy/noisy(as long as any kids there are quiet), you owe it to yourself to give it a try.
