Can this place EVER get an order right? I specify on grub hub NOTOMATOENOONION. How is it that I open my gyro and in plain sight tomatoe and onion. I order a chicken all white meal with brown rice combo. Why when I open the box there is no brown rice?! Just chicken?! If you people can’t understand English then maybe you should just not be working there. MORONSNEVERAGAINWILL I EATFROMTHISSHITHOLE. SHOULDHAVESTAYEDCLOSEDAFTERYOURFIRE! UGHWASTEOFMYMONEY.

I loveeeeeee chicken shack! The food is so good. I always order ¼ chicken with yellow rice and a side of salad. It’s like my ultimate fave quick bite to grab. The chicken is so juicy and pares so well with they’re signature tomato pure sauce. Not to mention they have the best pita bread I’ve ever had. Another thing I like about it is the staff. So friendly and attentive. It’s a gem in Astoria hands down. The only thing I hate is the fact that they don’t have a bathroom. That’s super annoying. Other then that, it’s all love.

I’m actually not big on writing reviews, which is kinda unfair since I read the reviews people post… but I had to. This is my 3rd time at the chicken shack and the meals just keep getting better. Today I had the charcoal broiled chicken and only bones were left. The food is flavorful and amazing… the staff is really friendly and I look forward to returning, since I work around the corner!

I dont know about everyone else, but when Friday rolls around, I always got chicken shack. Now they are not delivering or answering the phone. All I want is my usual, a whole chicken with large fried plantains and 3 gyro’s cut up. If you guys are still alive, let me know. I will literally put in an order right now. This food is good. It makes me happy.

Reminds me of the Kennedy Fried Chicken places that are both the butt of jokes and the envy of drunks throughout the city and parts of Long Island. This place, though, looks a bit nicer. Look nicer. Isn’t. I came for a quick dinner. I got chicken nuggets, fries, and mozzarella sticks. I should have gotten something besides chicken nuggets, because they tasted no better than store-bought nuggets made by someone who knows their way around an oven. Expensive, too! Well, let me clarify. The chicken nuggets and the fries were a good price for how much I got. The mozz sticks, meanwhile, were $ 7 for 6! Outrageous. Wound up paying over $ 20. I’ll probably be back since it is so close to my apartment, but I’ll choose my order in a more cost-effective way next time.

I’m honestly angry to be writing this. I can’t understand why their hours are listed as so but the kitchen closes at a different time. Maybe it’s Unilocal messing up but maybe it’s also shitty service. I know what it’s like to be on the night shift nd wanting to go home and be done. But if you’re open until a certain time, in this case midnight, and you’ve got a customer it’s also your job to make money. If your kitchen is closed 15 minutes earlier then EXPLICITLYSATIT. In short, the food is solid. But for this kind of service and treatment from someone who, until now, used to order every week for a year– they can F off for being so rude an disingenuous

Pretty decent chicken place. They offer varieties of rotisserie chicken platters with a selection of tasty sides. Is say it’s like a 3.75 type place. Flavor is there on the chicken but the fries were served soaked And quite frankly the bbq sauce is nasty out of some giant tub. Doesn’t look or taste like bbq sauce. Other than that I was very happy with the food and cost. Also delivery took like 20 minutes which I think is a great time frame on a Saturday during lunch.

This is one of my go-to spots. I love the grilled chicken combo with fries and pita bread. Huge servings and absolutely delicious.

Chicken Shack is back and just as mediocre as ever. Recently a fire in the neighboring store put CS out of commission for a couple of months. CS was previously on 30th Ave but when the lease came due and the landlord insisted on a gargantuan lease payment, Alex thought it appropriate to move elsewhere. I perceive quality to be consistent with other chicken joints in the hood. Methinks it laden with preservatives because whenever I have eat at CS I become overly thirsty. For me this is anecdotally indicative of overly usage of MSG or similar flavor enhancers. Thus my rating is based on the food. The chicken is always fresh and costs a little more than similar neighboring restaurants. I primarily swing by because my munchkin likes the chicken. Thus my rating is based solely on the food. However, today marks my final visit because they don’t have a bathroom for in-store dinners. When I complained the owner said to me that based on the number of tables he wasn’t required to have a bathroom by the building department. Perhaps that’s true but what does that have to do with good business sense? Especially since several even smaller restaurants come to mind that care about their dinners. My feeling is that the proprietors didn’t feel like spending the money for this most basic of accommodations. C’est la vie. I wish Alex all the best and please consider this unsolicited suggestion in the helpful manner in which it is meant: ease up on whatever it is you are using in the sauce and chicken rub.

Worst food I’ve eaten in years… Or not eaten. I got delivery and they were lightning fast. This turns out to not be a good thing. The buffalo wings were not buffalo wings at all. They were flavorless, breaded, stale and hard. I’m surprised my friend didn’t hurt his mouth on them. His words? «If I was drunk this might be okay». My lamb platter which was supposed to come with a side of fries just had the fries dumped in it. The fries were soggy by the time they got here and the heat of the fries coming from the fryer cooked some of the lettuce. There was this random block of feta on the side which wasn’t mentioned anywhere. My friend joked and said«at least they can’t mess up a can of club soda» and I joked with«unless they pissed on the lid». A minute later I hear«why does this taste funny?» I think it’s a joke. No. We have a closer look. There’s something brown that was now floating around the rim of the can. It was hidden in the crevice of the can and under the tab. This place is so bad THEYMANAGEDTORUINCANNEDSODA. I tried to call back to work something out, but they ignored my call. Twice. Don’t believe my review? That’s okay, I left pictures. Save your intestines. Don’t eat here.

I was craving some grilled chicken and stumbled upon this place on Unilocal.I ordered the grilled chicken with orzo rice and a Greek salad. The grilled chicken was very tender with great seasoning. The orzo salad was alright, probably wouldn’t get it again. Also got a Greek salad on the side. I really liked the fact they put grape leaves in the salad which a lot of people don’t do in the Greek salad.

$ 11 for ½ ribs value meal is a disgrace. It comes with ½ ribs, two pita breads, and one side. The amount of ribs are so few and the ribs are not juicy but dry. Disappointment! If you go to Chicken Lovers in Bayside you will get bigger and tastier ribs for the price of $ 10 for ½ ribs with two sides and a soda.

I just wanted to add that the owner Alex is an absolute GEM! Every time I pick up an order he sincerely thanks me & is always beyond pleasant. In a city where a simple«thank you» is not easy to come by, I genuinely appreciate that Alex takes the time to greet his customers & develop relationships. For this reason, I will continue to spread the word about this delicious restaurant & will be a life-long customer! PS the grilled chicken & grilled vegetable salad is my new fave. The salmon is also VERY tasty!

This place is ridiculous. My bf just brought me home a «chicken pita», which was over $ 6. It is literally a piece of thin grilled chicken served – open face – on a piece of dry pita bread. Period. They included a bag with 6 packets of ketchup, because apparently people who eat here put ketchup on chicken. Grossly overpriced.

I hope this place withstands the curse of this corner location & bleak block. It seems like every business that’s opened here has closed in less than a year. It’s a nice addition to Broadway & I was happy with my grilled chicken breast & orzo(with feta & chopped peppers mixed in). However it was a bit salty, as it seems like the usual with chicken spots. The food was satisfying, but a kind of empty fullness that you would get with eating fast food. It seems like the owner knows everyone in the neighborhood & the place was busy with delivery orders & a few tables. I may be interested in trying their other dishes, but also have to be okay with non-organic or non-halal tasting chicken.

The Chicken Shack moved from 30th Ave to Broadway a couple of months ago. The new location is about a quarter of the size of the old one. While I never ate inside the old location; I always ordered delivery through Seamless and always enjoyed my meals. This new place is tight, but comfortable. The wife is eating healthy these days and she wanted a salad so we stopped by last Saturday. We had a small Greek salad for $ 8.05 total. A little steep, but if was a decent salad. Fresh greens, lettuce, tasty feta cheese, mild vinagrete dressing. I just think more value could have been provided for eight bucks. The Chicken Shack does a huge take out business, but with the move it is a longer distance to my apartment. With the cold weather coming up; I have to think twice about ordering delivery. Overall, I like the new place. It is nicely constructed and I felt very comfortable. They had a specials board outside with some decent deals. I always love a deal. Definitely a place to stop by if your in the mood for grill chicken.
