I was pleased with our meal. I was nervous when our host said they have malay, american, thai, +++ cuisine on the menu. We all tried different cuisines and all were pleased. The drinks were very good as well.

This is a review of lunch with a colleague at Sedap Corner. Sedap Corner is kind of hidden away near the back of Bedok Market. Sedap Corner is clean and neat. It is a relatively basic and functional space. The staff was very friendly, polite, and effective. The meal flowed at a good pace and the staff was consistently checking to insure things were going well. The food ranged from good to very good. Their menu consists of a mix of southeast Asian dishes and Western standards. Crispy Potato wrapped prawns — These were tasty and they were tender. The sauce added just the right amount of sweet heat. Saigon Rolls — These were well prepared. They were crisp on the outside and stuffed with fresh vegetables on the inside. That being said, there wasn’t anything that made them standout from the many many other spring rolls I’ve eaten. Lime Juice — Their lime juice was another one that was a touch more bitter than I prefer. Whether it is or not, I do not know. However, it didn’t really taste like a fresh lime juice. But it was still pretty good. Chicken — This was a very flavourful chicken dish. I also thought the fresh coriander was a nice touch. It added some real freshness. The only negatives were that some off the pieces of chicken were a little hard and the rice was a little pebbly. As far as taste though, it was certainly a winner. Pad Thai — My colleague ordered the pad thai. It was well presented and looked truly appetizing. He enjoyed it, ate every bite, and said it was above average. Overall — This is a basic place with very good service and flavourful, well presented food. It is not a wow place for a important date but for a casual lunch, in my opinion, it is a very good option.

Opened by a celebrity chef, this café specializes in Malay cuisine with a twist of fusion in its food. The chef’s specialties include dishes like Green Curry, Assam Fish, Prawns and Squid and Grilled Chicken, which are all halal. Compared to the other halal eateries along Simpang Bedok, Sedap Corner is a more upmarket bistro, with prices that are higher as well. There is a better and more comfortable atmosphere there though, complete with air-conditioning. Sedap Corner serves extraordinary dishes as well, like the Toast with Durian and Kaya dip. The durian does surprisingly go with the toast, making an enjoyable sweet snack. The offer unique beverages too, which are obviously their own creations. There are Sejati(Apple, Lemon, Strawberry and Soda) and Tioman Sunrise(Yoghurt, Mango and Soda) just to name a few.
