KPO Cafe Bar

Okay more like 3.5 but feeling a little generous here. Sometimes it was hard to flag down staff but the venue is decent with a mixture of stools, couches and seating areas. Decent selection of wine.

KPO served up a TKO.
After a long day of rental rage, it was great to see some familiar faces here.
Pounding pints of heinie set our credit cards smoking, followed by a smoky peat scotch to literally set us on fire.
I can certainly see the charm of this place, and my bet is I will be back again to see the green fairy.

you heard it right and you don’t even have to be dressed to the nines.
i’m speaking from personal experience and have also heard tales about them!;)
furthermore, airline crew loves to hang out here as well, so if you are into that, come this way, come this way!
on a more serious note, it’s quite a chill place.
and i do think it looks even better now with the new ground floor layout.
the bar counter is no longer right smack in the middle and it seems more spacious than before, as a result of that.
they have an outdoors area, an indoors area and also a second floor, away from the prying eyes, area (where the band plays).
the live band is great, by the way.

yes, absinthe can be had here, by the bottle if you like.
but i can’t say i like anise very much and this reminds me of a very potent cough mixture!
but i never turn down a free drink, especially not when offered by a gal!;)
with balaclava’s so called temporary farewell from ion, some of their clientele have migrated here.
for those who like to admire fancy sports car, your eyes will also have an alternate feast here!
speaking of feast, their hokkien mee and nasi lemak will fit the bill of expensive hawker fare but from what i’ve been told, done well.
and when i’m done, stumbling to somerset mrt is a super convenient public transportation, when i drink, option!:)

Decent no-​frills place for catching up with friends over drinks and snacks.
I usually get a house white, but their snacks are really not bad! I like their deep fried pork cubes with an awesome chilli-​based dark soy sauce, their Hokkien mee (3.5÷5), and decently-​priced drinks.
The crowd here is more mature, mostly above 30, I would say. Plays Top40, don’t be fussy when you’re here, and stumble to Dhoby Ghaut MRT when it’s time to go home.

ok, i probably need to try this place a few more times before really grading it, but since that’s not going to happen, here goes.
this place is full of cougars. tons and tons of cougars. depending on your inclination, this is either a good thing or a very bad thing. since i fall in the latter camp, i doubt i would come back here even if i were to ever come back to singapore.

So I’ve been out of the Singapore bar scene since I moved to DFW. This is definitely better than any bar I’ve been to in DFW. I miss SG’s nightlife so much.
This is a little ritzy and pretentious. Way more ritzy and pretentious than anything Dallas has to offer. But the girls are hot and the drinks are good.
There’s an ok restaurant and a rooftop area to chill.
KPO may not seem like much if you live in SG, but live in DFW long enough and you’ll appreciate the nightlife in SG. Almost everyone who’s been to SG talks about the amazing nightlife and beautiful women.

It’s actually a good place to chill out but parking is a nightmare. As all the streets along KPO is one way, it would be best to plan ahead and park directly at Orchard Central.
They attract quite a few tourists and after office crowds. The smoking area is also quite huge — the top floor outdoor area are all smoking tables.
Drink prices are quite reasonable and pub grub is pretty decent. However, don’t bother about their brunches and coffees if you want to chill there in the afternoons.

This place is alright. Ive been about two times and wouldnt really go back again. Its a two story building with an outdoor rooftop area upstairs which is pretty nice and chill. The vibe and ambience is pretty casual but the crowd is not so great.
The best thing here would be the drink offers. Beers can be pretty cheap when on offer. I wouldnt go back again but its not a terrible place.

The décor here is great — woody and modern, it feels a little like a small spot of paradise in the midst of the city. It gets quite crowded here, but if you’re early or lucky, you can get a roof top seat to chill at. Drinks here are not cheap — a pint of draught beer last I saw was $ 18, so look out for the drink offers instead!
