Ehrlich, mir gehen die mega auf den Keks. Jedesmal, wenn man da anruft, heißt es, es wäre bereits voll.
Man bekommt das Gefühl, dass sie sich einfach nur wichtig machen wollen. Denn wenn man dann mal dahin geht, ist immer noch genug Platz vorhanden, um zu essen.
Warum dieser Hik-​Hak immer, verstehe ich nicht.
Das nervt und sorgt für Kundenverlust.

I have been here on 3 separate occasions and every time loved it. The service is very good, and they are all very happy to speak English to you. The cocktails are very tasty, and the beer is paired perfectly with the African cuisine. I have always ordered the main platter, and spit both with 2 and 3 people. There is a lot of food, and it is all homemade. Don’t forget to order the banana cream for desert! A must try restaurant in Frankfurt.

Wir habe mittlerweile die komplett Karte durch und alles war super lecker immer wieder gerne

Ausgefallene Gerichte und super schönes Ambiente. Die Kellner sind ausgezeichnet. Es empfiehlt sich mit mehreren Personen einrichten Platte zu teilen und viele Gerichte ausprobieren zu können. Besonders zu empfehlen ist die Vorspeise. Humus mit afrikanischen Brot auch der Nachtisch (Bananencrem) ist sehr zu empfehlen.
In diesem Restaurant fühlt man sich wirklich wie in Afrika. Auf jeden Fall ein Besuch wert. Man sollte definitiv vorher einen Tisch reservieren!

Hier haben schon sooooo viele Menschen eine Bewertung abgegeben, da fehlt jetzt nur noch meine. :)
Zu allererst muss ich leider sagen, dass das Lokal total blöd liegt und man hier nicht wirklich einen Parkplatz bekommt. Dann sollte man erst gar nicht versuchen ohne Reservierung hier her zu kommen, ich glaube das kann recht schwierig werden. Das Lokal sieht sehr nett aus, Sand auf dem Boden hat was. Platz ist leider etwas eng, sprich wir waren zu viert hier und mussten uns den Tisch mit einem weiteren Pärchen Teilen. Ansich ist das natürlich kein Problem, aber manchmal will man auch unter sich sein. Den einen stört es den anderen nicht. Die Preis hier sind fair. Den Icetee kann ich sehr empfehlen, der ist richtig lecker. Zu den Speisen: Wir hatten zur Vorspeise den Humus, welcher richtig schön cremig und lecker war. Zum Hauptgang hatten wir alle den Veganen Teller. Da ist dann von allem etwas drauf. Das ganze für € 8,50 ist vollkommen in Ordnung. Geschmacklich richtig gut und Portion technisch hätte es ruhig etwas mehr sein dürfen, aber es hat letztlich doch gereicht. Das man hier alles mit den Fingern isst hat schon was, allerdings muss ich sagen das man wenn man auch den aufgeweichten Boden essen will, was absolut Sinn macht, da hier ja die ganzen Soßen eingezogen sind, da ist ein Löffel dann doch angebracht, sonst ists nämlich né ganz schöné wutzerei. Das Personal dort, ist sehr freundliche und erklärt auch alle Speisen. Man kann hier auch mal ein Späßchen machen, ohne gleich blöd angeschaut zu werden. So mag ich das.
Also ich kann es nur empfehlen und würde auch jederzeit wieder kommen.

Das Ambiente ist wirklich authentisch und das Personal locker entspannt. Von Stress (trotz vollen Tischen) ist hier nichts zu spüren. Die Karte ist überschaubar, am besten man wählt die Platte mit verschiedenen Speisen. Die vegetarische ist ok, umgehauen hat es mich nicht. Es ist nicht besonders gewürzt und mir kam es vor, als ob es sehr lange eingekocht ist bzw. schon einige Male aufgekocht. Frisch würde es anders schmecken. Zu erwähnen sei auch, dass es kein Besteck gibt. Man isst die Speisen mit einer Art Pfannkuchen. Trotzallem kann man hier einen schönen Abend verbringen :-)

I’ve been to this place many times and I can only say: It’s not only amazing, unusual (for Westerners) food, but also quite the experience. (Opens only for dinner from 6 pm on).
Grab a couple of friends, reserve! and maybe you’re lucky enough to be seated in the tree house inside the restaurant! (up to 4 people). Here, you feel like on a safari. The waiter brings honey wine or their home brewed African beer. Of course they have also the usual stuff like coke.
Then you order a plate to share with vegetables, meat etc. You eat with your hands! Their famous «Injera», which is sort of a sourdough pancake, helps you to pick up the food and put it in your mouth. After this, everybody is full and happy! Guaranteed.
Also I want to mention the exceptionally nice service staff. Super friendly, fun and helpful. You will feel like at a friend’s place.

Durch Zufall entdeckten wir vor einigen Wochen im Herzen Afrikas und bekamen mit viel Glück noch einen Tisch, denn das Restaurant war sehr gut besucht. Wir bestellten uns zu zweit eine große Gemischte platte die selbst für großen Hunger gut ausreicht.
Erste Gewöhnung war, dass man mit den Händen isst, indem man die Soßen, Salate oder Fleischgerichte mit einem weichen Fladen aufnimmt. Die Fladen selbst waren nicht so mein Fall aber die Gerichte darauf waren köstlich und scharf!
Auch die Atmosphäre ist super und es ist einfach mal ein neues Erlebnis auf kleinen Höckern mit den Händen zu essen. Auch viele der Getränke waren neu für mich, wie der Honig-​Wein den ich einfach probieren musste und versprach nach was er klang.

Nehmt es ruhig in scharf weil so schlimm ist es nicht und man schmeckt dann wirklich die volle Bandbreite.
Preislich unschlagbar und ich konnte mit Freunden noch nie die ganze Portion aufessen.

Total überbewertet. Jemand der mal woanders eritreaisch gegessen hat, weiss dass es sich hierbei nur um maximal durchschnittliche Kost handelt. Weiterhin störend empfinde ich dass man mit Fremden an einem Tisch gesetzt wird! Zwei Punkte für den netten Service und dafür dass das Essen «ok» ist!

Nachdem mir einige Kollegen dieses Restaurant empfohlen haben und ich diese Empfehlung nach einem kurzen Blick hier auf Unilocal bestätigt bekommen habe, sind meine Freundin und ich gestern dort gewesen um einen schönen Abend zu verbringen. Und was soll ich sagen, dieser ist voll und ganz gelungen!
Erstmal zu Essen: Ich war bisher der afrikanischen (in diesem Fall sehr Äthiopisch und Eritreisch geprägt) Küche nicht so vertraut. Aus diesem Grund war ich auch voller Spannung was uns auf einem gewmischten Teller alles so angeboten wird. Jedes einzelne der Gerichte war absolut fantastisch. Das Bort war auch super (mal was anderes) und mit den Händen essen macht ja auch irgendwie Spass :)
Zum Service: Absolut klasse. Vom Moment an dem wir reinkamen wurden wir sofort nett empfangen und es wurde sich um uns gekümmert. Wir hatten keine Reservierung (es ist empfohlen eine zu haben, aber das Telefon ist oftmals dauerbesetzt. Einfach ständig probieren…) und trotzdem hatten wir einen Tisch innerhalb von 15 Minuten, was echt ok ist. Während wir gewartet haben wurde uns auch schon etwas zu trinken angeboten um die Zeit ein wenig zu verkürzen. Generell hatte jeder der Bedienungen immer ein Lächeln auf den Backen, sodass man sich gut aufgehoben gefühlt hat. Als dann das Essen kam wurde einem alles erklärt, falls man es noch nicht kannte. Zum Abschied gab es noch ein sehr leckeres kleines Getränk, dessen Inhalt man uns nicht verraten wollte. Streng geheim ;-)
Zur Atmosphäre: Willkommen in Afrika. Es ist wirklich eines der am schönsten eingerichteten Restaurants in denen ich jemals war, weltweit. Man muss sich einfach nur einmal die Bilder hier angucken, die netterweise von vielen Unilocal-​Usern hier bereitgestellt wurden. Es ist wirklich ein tolles Erlebnis.
Zu guter letzt zum Preis-​Leistungs-​Verhältnis: Das ist überragend, wenn man sich die Qualität mal anschaut. Für einen gemischten Teller bezahlt man pro Person 10 €…en zehner! Dazu noch ein (oder zwei) hausgebraute Biere und der Abend ist perfekt.
Generell kann ich sagen, dass hier einfach das Gesamtpaket stimmt. Super Essen, super Bedienung, super Atmosphäre, super Preis. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder! Und das nächste Mal bekommen wir das Rezept für den leckeren Drink schon raus :-P

Atmosphäre unübertroffen. Man kann zwischen «Beduinenzelt» und «Baumhaus» wählen. Super geeignet für Gruppen (es wird mit der Hand von einem großen Teller gegessen).

The food was really good and the place was charming. I enjoyed the décor, the music, and the low lighting. However, I cannot give this place more than two stars, which is quite generous considering our experience.
We were very dissatisfied with the customer service. When I asked the server for a spoon or a fork, she responded that the restaurant did not have any spoons or forks. I responded that they must have spoons because they serve desserts. The server admitted that I was right. She however stated that the spoons were only for the desserts and she was «not allowed» to give them to us. I asked then if the manager would be allowed to give us spoons and she answered in affirmative. The first thing that the manager said was again that the restaurant did not have spoons. I again responded that they must have them because they serve desserts. Again, he admitted that I was right. Lying into customers’ face is a questionable business strategy.
The manager explained that it was the restaurant’s tradition to only allow eating with hands and that he would not break it. I pointed to my plate, which had four different stews on it, including a runny spinach dish and explained that I did not want to eat all these stews with the bread-​like pancake that they served it with and which was supposed to be used for eating their dishes as opposed to using silverware. (If you are new to this type of eating, you take a piece of that bread, grab food with it and eat it together. At the end, you end up eating an equal, if not greater, amount of bread than the food that you ordered.) He said that he could bring us sliced cucumbers that could serve as spoons. There is a dramatic difference between encouraging certain practices and forcing them upon people. Here, we were forced to eat our food with cucumbers since eating with hands and consuming a very large amount of bread were not the options for us.
If the restaurant is so inflexible, it should clearly state on their menu that eating with hands is mandatory and no exceptions will be granted.
To only make our dining experience worse, the area that we were sitting in (downstairs of the restaurant) was quite incompatible with how the restaurant wants you to eat their food. The downstairs area has extremely low chairs (like for babies) and extremely low tables (also like for babies). I am really not exaggerating here. At first, I actually thought that it was pretty charming. However, since you are sitting on this tiny chair at a tiny table, your plate is quite far from you. As a consequence, you are squeezing your stomach (very uncomfortable) when you try to bend over and get close to your plate in order to either eat with your hands, or in our case, with cucumbers. Otherwise, you are risking having the food all over you.
Ok, I get it, when in Rome, do as the Romans do. But, this is Frankfurt, Germany, and not an African country where my request for a spoon or fork could be shocking or offending to local traditions. I have been to numerous African style restaurants in various countries and have never encountered a similar problem. Well what can I say, when you pay 10 Euros or less for a meal, you get what you pay for, here it would be a substandard service.

Wir waren vor kurzem mit Freunden da. Vor einigen Jahren war ich zur Anfangszeit mal dort und fand es total toll.
Das Essen schmeckt super und es gibt genügend Auswahl für jeden, trotzdem ist die Karte nicht überladen. Man sollte sich auf jeden Fall auf was anderes einlassen können. Wir hatten zu viert eine große Platte die vollkommen ausgereicht hat.
Einen Stern Abzug gibt es dafür, dass ich es von der Räumlichkeit viel schöner in Erinnerung hatte und davon ausging, dass unser Tisch dort sein wird. Jedoch wurde uns vor Ort gesagt, dass der andere Raum im Raucherbereich und wohl auch nichts mehr frei war. Schade, das hätte ich gerne bei der Reservierung am Telefon schon gewusst.
Beim nächsten Mal geht’s da hin, denn da ist es noch ein bisschen schöner

Sind eher durch Zufall hier rein gestolpert, aber hat sich auf jeden Fall gelohnt. Hier gibt es leckere afrikanische Küche zu guten Preisen. Die Karte bietet viele verschiedene Angebote und die Portionen sind auch alle üppig, sodass man auch auf jeden Fall satt wird. Die Bedienungen sind sehr nett und die Einrichtung tut ihr Übriges zur Atmosphäre.

Found this place on Google. Really enjoyed it. The staff are welcoming, the environment is unique and relaxing, and most importantly the food is great. I’ve had Ethiopian a handful of times but this was on par with the best of them. Will defiantly be back here when I’m in Frankfurt again.

Very good food from Eritrea with several high quality vegetarian options. Almost half the menu is meatless. The home brew is interesting although it can sometimes be a little fermented. The decoration of this restaurant is a plus. Customer service is very friendly and accommodating. Reservations are recommended, particularly for large parties.

Fantastic Ethiopian food at very low prices. Wonderful service and ambiance. Highly recommend.

The problem with Frankfurt’s food scene is that certain types of food are oversaturating the market. Ethiopian/​Eritrean food is one of them. And damn– I have no problem with this AT ALL. But, there are some that are better than others. Im Herzen Afrikas is just okay to me.
I think for the average person, this may be a fan favorite because of the interior. It is cheesy and caters to groups looking for a different experience. The wall décor is all African and the seating is on the floor as many East African experiences are. I, personally, hate this. It is fun one time, but I would never continuously go back here to sit uncomfortably on the floor for hours on end. I will admit that the atmosphere is rather cozy, with many of the tables and sections because in quiet corners, however.
They claim to offer African beers, but they don’t. They have their own beers for the place that are brewed in Germany with African names. This was not to my liking. At all. If I’m going to eat East African food, I’d like an East African, or even any African beer. After not liking the beers much, I ordered a cocktail. Poor thing was filled with about 10 fruit flies or baby wasps. We couldn’t decide what it was. But it was bugs for sure. I quietly told the waiter, who was very apologetic and offered me a new one, but I figured the bugs were in the liquor bottle or syrups so there was not going to be another drink. He did take the drink off of the bill without any hesitation so I can not commend the customer service enough at the place.
The food was pretty good. Not the best I have had, but decent. They did make it nice and spicy, which I liked.
I won’t be going back here. I have already found my favorite East African joints in Frankfurt, and this isn’t one of them. But if you’re looking for a cool and different atmosphere for a coworker event or something with kids, this is your place!

Before going into the restaurant, nobody can make a guess about inside atmosphere and dishes, exactly they have a very interesting concept.
Restaurant is designed like a cave, it’s wooden furnishes, the ligthing and style of design are really attractive. Another interesting part is it’s floor which is completely sand, if you are going an indoor place, stepping on a sand is a good surprise.
About dishes, this is anothet interesting part of that place. Menu includes completly African traditional dishes but they are not very complex, everybody can understand what they can order, interesting part is style of eating. Nobody gives you a fork or knife, you have to use special type of thick dough and your hands will help you to eat.
If you want a special dinner experience, this adress is for you.

Once it has been a insider’s tipp, it became THE location for eating something different than italian, asian or home-​style food.
My opinion: Definitely go there, but not too often (just every (second) year))
What to expect: Sitting in sand or normal chairs (depends if you book in the restaurant or bar). You’ll get a plate of african bread and different mashs and pastes (including humus). It’s not exclusivly but mostly vegetarian. This will cost 10 Euro and everybody on the table has to join in on this all-​you-​can-​eat-​plate.
Honestly, I’ve never tried the single meals. And I havent been to Africa so far, so I can’t say anything about the authentication of the food. But it tastes good enough ;)
Summary: Extra Point for ambience. Minus points for not making meat-​focused persons happy and for getting bored if going there too often.
Edit: I forgot to mention the service. Very good and friendly. Really trying to help you and bring you the food you deserve in just a few moments.

Wir waren zu dritt im Herzen Afrikas, hatten leider nicht reserviert, obwohl man wohl echt 2 Wochen im voraus reservieren sollte. Allerdings gibt es immer einen Tisch, der für spontan Besuche da ist, bzw eine Ecke am Tisch ;) Wir hatten jedenfalls Glück.
Einrichtung super, alles mit Sand ausgelegt, nur kontaktscheu sollte man nicht sein, alles recht klein & eng und den Tisch teilt man ggf auch mit anderen Leuten, oder man sitzt eben auf dem Boden auf Kissen. Ein großes rotes Zelt mit Sand am Boden, sehr nettes Ambiente.
Als Speise wurde uns einfach die große gemischte Platte empfohlen um alles zu probieren und man isst mit den Fingern, fande es wirklich sehr interessant und auch sehr lecker. Afrikanischer Wein dazu, der es auch abgerundet hat.
Preise waren sehr angenehmen, Essen ca 10 €/​Person.
Würde es jedem empfehlen !

Ein sehr tolles Restauant in der Nähe des Bahnhofes.
Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich und authentisch.
Wir wurden gefragt ob wir das erste Mal im Restaurant seien und sie freute sich, dass wir zum ersten Mal zu Ihnen gefunden haben. Danach erklärte Sie uns in Ruhe was uns erwartet und empfahl uns ein Essen, was gut und gerne zu zweit genommen wird. Sie gab uns die Karte und sagte, dass wir uns erst einmal alles in Ruhe anschauen sollten. Nach ein paar Minuten kam Sie wieder und nahm unsere Bestellung inclusive Sonderwünschen auf.
Das Essen sowie die Getränke kamen sehr schnell.
Man isst gemeinsam von einem großen Teller. Die toll exotisch gewürzten Gemüse– und Fleischsorten werden auch dünnen Fladen serviert. Mit den Fladen nimmt man sich das Essen mit der Hand. Das Essen was sehr frisch und lecker.
Dieser Abend war rundum gelungen. Ein Top Service, leckeres frisches Essen und ein super Preis-​Leistungs-​Verhältnis.

Mein Freund und ich haben hier letztens ganz lecker gegessen, wir waren rundum zufrieden.
Wir hatten eine gemischte Platte zu je 10 € pro Person, auf der ein paar vegetarische Sachen wie Linsen, Kartoffeln und Spinat, und auch zwei Fleischgerichte (ich glaube es war Lamm) waren. Dazu gab es typischerweise Injera Brot.
Es war alles ganz lecker und auch reichlich.
Das Ambiente hat auch gefallen, der Boden ist komplett mit Sand bedeckt und neben richtigen Tischen und Stühlen gibt es auch ganz niedrige Sitzmöglichkeiten. Zusammen mit den doch dunklen Lichtverhältnissen und dem Händeessen ist es schon ein Erlebnis.
Da es hier abends sehr voll ist, ist es empfehlenswert zu reservieren.
Fazit: Leckeres Essen, cooles Ambiente und auch gute Preise — kann ich jedem empfehlen, der mal eritreisch/​äthiopisch essen gehen will :)

Wir waren hier zu viert und waren schon vom Ambiente sehr angetan. Nachdem wir uns durch den Sand zu unserem Tisch gekämpft hatten, mussten wir feststellen, dass wir zu anderen Leuten gesetzt wurden, obwohl noch alle Tische frei waren. Alle weiteren Gäste bekamen Einzeltische.
Bei dem Empfang der Speisekarten ging das Gepuzzle los. Wir haben uns 2x für 2 Personen-​Teller bestellt. Und wir waren begeistert! Wir hatten auf unseren Tellern die gesamte Karte verteilt und konnten uns alles nehmen.
Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Wir fühlten uns willkommen und würden immer wieder kommen!

In Frankfurters definitiv mein liebstes afrikanisches Restaurant! Das Essen ist sehr gut gewürzt und es gibt Angebote für jeden. vegetarisch und unvegetarisch. Die Einrichtung ist wunderschön und der Laden eignet sich auch gut, wenn man Gäste von außerhalb zu Besuch hat und ihnen «was bieten» will.
Eine gute Alternative zu den üblichen Anlaufstellen bei der Nahrungssuche. Ich behaupte mal dass ich Stammgast bin und empfehle JEDEM, mal hier zu speisen! Auf jeden Fall reservieren!

We’ve been just for one night in Frankfurt to get our flight on the following day. Because of the good ratings we’ve decided to give it a try. I just can recommend you this restaurant. Excellent!

Ich war nun schon mehrere Male im «Herzen Afrikas» und muss sagen, dass mich das Essen und der Service jedes Mal voll überzeugt hat.
Das Ambiente ist einfach großartig. Gedimmtes Licht, Sand auf dem Boden und gemütliche, niedrige Sitzgelegenheiten (es gibt aber auch einige normal-​hohe Tische). Beim Betreten des Restaurants wird man sehr nett in Empfang genommen und direkt zu seinem Tisch gebracht. Sofern man reserviert hat. Das sollte man auf jeden Fall vorher tun, da hier eigentlich immer alle Tische besetzt sind. Sogar unter der Woche…
Ich teile mir mit meinen Begleitungen meistens eine «Gemischte Platte». So hat man die Möglichkeit von verschiedenen mehreren Gerichten etwas zu probieren. Bei unserer Platte für 2 Personen waren 5 verschiedene Speisen enthalten: Mildes gedünstetes Lamm, Hähnchen in scharfer Tomatensoße, Linsen in Tomatensoße, Kartoffeln und Spinat. Mir persönlich schmeckt das Essen hier sehr gut. Auch meine Begleitungen die bisher noch nie Afrikanisch gegessen hatten waren überzeugt. Auch wenn sie vorher Bedenken hatten.
Schön finde ich, dass hier — wie in Eritrea üblich — mit der Hand gegessen wird. Zu den Speisen werden Fladen serviert, von denen ein Teil abgerissen wird, womit dann das Essen «umhüllt» und gegessen wird. Da dies nicht immer ohne schmutzige Hände vonstatten geht, steht auf jedem Tisch eine Packung Tücher.
Die Kosten sind für die Qualität des Essens sehr angemessen. Die gemische Platte kostet pro Person 10 €. Die Preise für Getränke liegen sogar noch unter dem was man in Frankfurt sonst gewohnt ist.
Besonders hervorheben möchte ich noch einmal das überaus freundliche und aufmerksame Personal. Es kam selten vor, dass ich mich von den Bedienungen in einem Restaurant so nett behandelt gefühlt habe. Ganz stark!
Meine Meinung entspricht zusammenfassend genau dem Unilocal-​Beschreibungstext für 5 Sterne: «Wow! Besser geht’s nicht!»

I really loved this restaurant. Definitely a fun atmosphere, beautifully decorated, and very unique. The food is delicious and seasoned nicely. We also had the delicious cocktails and the African style honey wine was heavenly. Definitely recommend this place. Make sure to book a reservation, the place fills fast.

If you come to Frankfurt don’t leave with out eating in hertz of Africa. Tasty food, top price, friendly, amazing place. Make your own mind up but don’t miss out.

Wow, did not expect great African food in Frankfurt but it blew me away. Friendly staff and great food. Will be stopping by when i visit frankfurt again.

If you’re ever in Frankfurt make sure you dine here! What a fun experience, and on top of that excellent food! I had never had African but can tell you this was delicious. Like other reviewers have said I would just go with the staff’s recommendations, especially if you don’t speak German. We had delicious lamb, spicy chicken, lentils, vegetables, potatoes and spinach. It’s all piled on a round plate over yummy crepes you just use to grab everything with your hands — no utensils required.
Besides the food, the atmosphere is another big draw. It really feels like you’re in Africa, immersed in the culture. And definitely not in a cheesy way. Just go see for yourself!

Oh, the many ways this place oozes atmosphere. Starting with the eclectic seating arrangement: some sit around tables, while others lounge on animal-​print beds, one table is perched up a ladder in a «tree-​house» and another is inside a mud-​hut.
The restaurant was busy all night long, and the smiley, friendly wait staff greeted all with a big smile. Against their online advice, I didn’t have a reservation on this Saturday night… no problem, they found space for everyone.

And the food is delicious. I ordered a vegetarian platter and received exactly what I would hope for from an eritrean/​ethiopian restaurant: the Injera was some of the light & fluffiest I’ve tasted. The Hamli was yummy and the Timtimo had just the right amount of spice.
My honey-​wine came in a glass with round bottom and very long neck, it might have had a first-​life in a science lab, no worries, it worked.

This place is the real deal. When you leave the cold wet streets of Frankfurt you walk into a warm and inviting Safari camp on the plains of the Kilimanjaro.
The menu is short and simple. Ignore it. Put your entire faith and trust in the waitstaff. They will take great care of you. More importantly, I can’t think of another restaurant where the entire staff seems so happy to be there and to be serving. For that reason alone, this is worth the trip. Add the unusual atmosphere and the fantastic food you have one of my favorite restaurants to return to.
Suddenly the thought of returning to Frankfurt in February doesn’t seem so bleak.

Some day I’d like to go to Africa. Last week was probably the closest I could be without the cost of a plane ticket.
The food is typical African fair, similar to Ethiopian food. The restaurant is dimly lit and there’s sand everywhere except for the bathrooms. There is a wash sink to the side so that you can wash up before the experience. There are no utensils. You grab your food with traditional bread «Injera» which is homemade as is everything else here.
There is a such a warm and inviting atmosphere and reservations must be made weeks in advance otherwise, pray that they can take you in as a walk-​in which is how we lucked out after being told that they weren’t taking any more reservations but we could try coming down and seeing if we could be seated. We arrived right at opening at 6pm and were told that we may stay as long as we were done by 7. Not a problem.
The menu is very simple and easy to follow. We agreed and were seated at a communal table with another couple and shortly after another couple joined us.
The food was simply amazing. The atmosphere was so relaxing and we were so happy and content with everything food to the amazing yummy cocktails. The lamb both hot and mild (spices were so wonderful) the chicken was slow-​cooked to melt in your mouth, the lentils, oh so good.
We’re totally coming back with the rest of our team the next time we’re in town.
