Excellent pizza, excellent pasta, and excellent salads. Highly recommend this place, the food is great and so are the prices. You won’t regret coming here best find in Stirling.

Had lunch here today. It was awful! Waitress cleared a table for us, sat us down and promptly forgot us! To some extent, I’m not surprised, she was run off her feet. She appeared to be the only staff! My husband eventually called her over. We placed our order. Two pizzas and two sandwiches. Ordered four soft drinks. After another wait, a man brought three soft drinks! Waitress appeared and apologised as there wasn’t room in the oven for all the pizzas that had been ordered so there would be a wee wait!!! Pizzas eventually showed. They were nothing special. The sandwiches were poor. Two slices of bread that, in terms of texture, we’re not unlike a plain loaf! My husband couldn’t get his teeth through the crust! I had smoked salmon which would have been easier to contend with if I hadn’t had a pound and a half of smoked salmon on it! It was very slimy! I used the ladies. They had one toilet for women which doubled as a disabled toilet and baby change room. There were no hand towels!!! I wouldn’t set foot in here again if I were paid! Cost, £36!!! Never, ever again. Incidentally, they’ve a Trip Advisor recommendation in the window… pardon the pun, but you can take that with a pinch of salt!

Cibo e Vino. You are amazing, so it pains me to give you three stars, but three stars I have to give you. My first experience here was for coffee, and what a coffee I had, I drank it black with no sugar and loved it.(I’m normally milk and two.) Add to this a range of exquisite speciality teas, and you have yourself a returning customer. As part of a Unilocal dinner I was fortunate enough to eat here and had one of the best dinners I’ve had in Stirling. The food was fantastic, and the service impeccable. Not a perfect dinner service, but the company and the charming staff more than made up for any slight imperfections. And then there as dessert, a bold move to claim«probably the best sticky toffee pudding you’ve ever had» on principle I wanted to hate that Sticky Toffee Pudding, but alas it was magnificent. So what went wrong? A few months ago as part of the Stirling Brunch Club, we went for Brunch and were sorely disappointed. The waitress was great and as the only front of house staff member did a really good job of keeping almost everyone fed in a timely fashion. But, I ordered the waffle and after being assured it was fresh, I am unconvinced and am sure it was bought in, add to that it being burnt, and then the burnt bit being disguised with cream, I was left with a very literal bitter taste in my mouth, which was upsetting. Strike One! Another member of my party that day had the poached eggs, the first time they were brought out they were served raw, they were brought back a second time having been made fresh and after a few mouthfuls were discovered to again be raw, bringing this to the attention of the waitress only led to my friend being asked«are these too raw for you?» With eggs this should not even be a consideration, eggs are not sent out Raw! Strike Two! Cibo e Vino I am really sorry, to have to flag this up as a bad visit as every other time, I have had an outstanding experience and indeed I already look forward to dining with you again. I am more than happy to call this particular service an off day and try again soon. But you are only as good as your last dinner(or brunch) service, and knowing the standard you set yourself, I have to mark you down. I will be back soon.

I went here with two friends who are regulars. We had lunch from the lunch menu for that day: chicken ceasar salads, and their infamous ‘ghost chilli’ pizza. Clearly this is a place that treats its regulars well, and I’d like to think it’s as good with all its customers. The staff were welcoming, chatty, and were very amused by my friend’s battle with the chilli pizza!(we had dared him to eat it since it was the spiciest thing we could have thought of). The chicken ceasar salads were expertly done, lovely dressing and clearly very fresh high quality ingredients. I have since eaten cake from this establishment which was beautifully made and had a wonderful texture — I believe it was olive oil and orange flavoured(a friend brought it to me at work). I would definitely recommend this restaurant and plan to go back.

I’ve been nothing but impressed with Cibo so far, so heading back for brunch, I was excited. I really do love Cibo and it’s always a safe-bet for dinner with a friend but after this visit, we were all disappointed for several reasons. The brunch menu is fairly simple with some interesting options like the waffles with mascarpone and berry compote. I opted for the poached eggs with hollandaise sauce. I’m a real fan of poached eggs and I’m on a lifelong search for the perfect cooking method! Cibo’s eggs were cooked well, although I would have liked my egg that little bit runnier. Despite the fact that when we arrived we were the only people in the restaurant, we had a good half hour wait for food. The food was delivered in bouts with two full breakfasts lacking their poached eggs. The eggs soon appeared. — The chef had burst the original eggs’ yolks during poaching. Yikes! When the two eggs arrived, they were a little on the rushed side presentation-wise and one was slightly raw. We mentioned this at the end of the meal and the waitress didn’t handle the situation too well. She came across a little sarcastic but I think this was largely down to the fact that she felt uncomfortable. I’ll be honest, it must be strange to apoligise for something you didn’t cook personally and service was decent otherwise. The staff offered us a free coffee which we politely declined. They then took the full price of a coffee off the bill to apoligise for the egg situation. We weren’t all too bothered about the price but it was a nice gesture. Almost all of us had experienced Cibo before and were surprised. There seems to be a great difference in the night and daytime kitchen staff which makes for inconsistencies. It’s a real shame because come nightfall, Cibo’s never failed to wow me. Perhaps today was an off day? It seems that way! I’m taking off just one star because every other experience I’ve had has been spot on and I’d still highly recommend Cibo for an evening meal.

I recently took a day trip to Stirling and the grand finale was dinner with some awesome Unilocalers, organised by the(unofficial) Queen of Stirling, Nicola C! Cibo e Vino is in a bit of a strange location, in Stirling Arcade. It seemed to be quite popular though and was pretty much full on a Friday night. Nicola had booked us a table and it was ready for us when we arrived. It is a really nice restaurant space — I especially loved the lush green grass wall which I couldn’t seem to stop looking at. For starter I shared the antipasti misto with Graeme. This was very meat heavy and could have used some more cheeses or vegetables to break it up. It was a really generous serving though that was perfect for two to share. I then had the risotto — roasted red pepper and goats cheese. Again, a generous portion with a good amount of goats cheese and a nice pepper flavour. To my taste though it was definitely undercooked as the ristotto was too bitey. I still ate about half of it though and would definitely get the lobster ravioli that everyone else raved about next time! Service was really friendly and helpful and they were never far away, even though I think there was only two people dealing with the whole restaurant. For me the highlight was the people — it is always so lovely to see old faces and meet some new ones, and Nicola should be commended on organising a great night out!

Not really sure where to start with this one?! Maybe the beautiful starter that has me converted to goats cheese that was only vaguely marred by me spattering some of the gloriously fresh pesto over my jeans?(co-ordination has never been a strong point, even when it involves my face and food), or maybe the stunning mango and basil martini? How about that AWESOME sticky toffee pudding?! I’m just kidding, I know exactly where to start. The lobster ravioli. Oh my giddy aunts knickers. I am still wishing I was swimming in that bowl 24 hours later. Ordinarily any cream based sauce is gonna put me off ordering a dish but it’s lobster ravioli… I just had to have it! I’ve had this before in a few other restaurants and it’s always been in a tomato based sauce but this came in a sunshiney pale yellow cream and lemon effort that was nothing short of stunning. I could eat this every day for the rest of my life and be quite happy. I’d be fat with all the cream, but I’d be happy! There was just enough lemon to stop it feeling heavy, the ravioli was big enough without being massive and I had pretty big chunks of lobster throughout mine that stopped it getting lost. Brilliant dish. Also, they’re quite misleading with the dessert menu that tells you the sticky toffee pudding is ”probably the best”…it’s almost definitely the best! I’ll be making a point to frequent Cibo more often, it’d be a waste not to!

I was pleasantly surprised by this Italian restaurant. I went on a Thursday night with my fiancé and it was quite quiet, I thought there would be more people looking for food after late night shopping but I guess not many people consider it as it’s not right next to the Thistle Centre. One thing I was particularly impressed with was the wine list. It wasn’t a huge list but I knew many on it and have seen them many times on wine lists in Italy which, in my opinion, is a good thing! My meal was delicious. I had porcini ravioli with pancetta and sage butter. It was nice and fresh and not heavy as ravioli tends to be in Britain. My fiancé had seabass with spaghetti. The fish was cooked well, fresh with a nice flavour and the pasta was al dente. However, the sauce for the pasta had far too much anchovy in it and was pretty much inedible. Desert was good. I had affogato, the ice-cream and coffee were both tasty. My fiancé had the rosewater meringue and it was the highlight of the meal. Absolutely delicious. Our waiter was attentive and friendly and the meal was reasonably priced(two courses each and a bottle of wine for £55). I will definitely be going back next time I’m looking for somewhere to eat in Stirling.

Cibo e Vino has recently been refurbished. It now has a larger bar area, and offers fresh, handmade pizzas. The food is great, and not too pricey in a big city they would charge loads more! The staff are friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere both inside and outside under the glass roof is very warm and relaxing.

A fantastic little Italian Café in the Stirling arcade. I can’t recommend this place enough, some nights they have live music. It’s a licensed café, traditional Italian food. It’s on the upper side of average price, but you get what you pay for and the place has an atmosphere. This is the perfect place for a romantic lunch, or dinner if you don’t want to look as if you are trying too hard. It’s relaxed quality, without being stuffy and pretentious.
