Royal Oak

This pub is so much nicer now that it has been refurbished! It’s much more open, and looks a lot cleaner now.
The food on offer is really nice and freshly cooked — and their burgers actually taste of meat!
There is a variety of tables, small, large, intimate, there seems to be something for everyone.
They have sky tv too, and so the bar area attracts sports fans to watch the game — worth bearing in mind if you’re going for a quiet dinner!
If you have children, you might want to try and find your way into one of their booths — and then you have your own TV to keep them amused!
I’ve been twice since it reopened, and so far, I haven’t been kept waiting for my food — it’s been served promptly and always looks great!

The Royal Oak is a nice pub on the Hucclecote Road in Hucclecote, Gloucester. It is a good size and regularly features live music and plenty of other entertainment. Perhaps it’s strongest selling point is the excellent value for money that it offers. A current offer being buy two glasses of wine and get the rest of the bottle for free! I haven’t personally eaten there but I have seen a menu and it offers great prices and good ‘meal deal’ offers. Friends assure me that the food is good particularly for the price that you pay.
For smokers there is a terrace outside that is heated and often has a great atmosphere, particularly at the weekends. This pub caters for a great diversity in ages, there were many pensioners enjoying a lively pint in the company of younger ones who enjoy a drink or two before heading onto a club. the staff are friendly and courteous and my only gripe would be the bright lighting — not very flattering to the over 30’s!
