Restoran Sri Melur Jaya

This coffee shop is located in Pjs 7. It is always packed during lunch hour. I usually come here with my boyfriend for lunch before class because it’s near to our uni. The food here is also cheap.
My favorite stall here has to be the chicken rice stall which I always see people queuing up for. The chicken and siew yuk from there is always very tasty and sells out pretty quick. When you order the chicken rice there, you’ll also be given a bowl of soup.
There’s also other stalls there. I’ve tried the kangkung belacan from the Thai stall there as well which is not bad. The restaurant is always hot and stuffy so be prepared to sweat it all out. To avoid the crowd, I would suggest coming slightly before lunch hour. It’ll be easier to find a parking spot as well.

Basically this is a typical mamak. But this is one of my favourite mamak restaurant out there. I’ve been eating here longer than I can remember and so far the quality of the food has been the same. One of the best things here has to be their Roti Tisu. It’s so long that it’s served on three plates. Other than that, the Roti Canai here is really good, it is so good they’ve even had a newspaper article written about them a few years ago because of their «5 star Roti Canai» and so it their Thosai. The Dhal Curry here is very good as well.
The service here can be pretty slow though as sometimes they can lack staff. Your food can take some time to arrive during meal times. But the staff are very outgoing and if you’re a regular they occasionally joke with you (not in a spit your food kind of way don’t worry). They also have no problem if you sit there with your friends for hours and just order Teh Tarik (unlike some mamak places where they’ll give you the stink eye).
The price here is also very affordable so it’s a perfect lepak spot for students from the nearby schools.
Since it’s in ss19 Sometimes finding parking here can be tough, especially in the morning on the weekends but since it’s a corner lot they have more parking space than other shop lots.
