As I ponder upon Village Park as being the best Nasi Lemak in KL/Selangor, this restaurant shouted ‘no’, and proceeded to slap my face a thousand times. Located in a not-so discreet spot in SS14, Subang, Wong Soon Kee has served its Nasi Lemak for more than a decade, and its chicken is said to be legendary. Of course, being a foodie that I am, I have to try it out. My mouth remained there from the afternoon till today. Its succulent chicken is coupled with a creamy curry topping, as its rice absorbed its essence, along with the soggy sambal which tastes surprisingly good, and a few vegetables to clear your stomach from all the heavy parts of the plate. It is an amazing experience, albeit the shop being too hot for my liking, and I am positively sweating just from fiddling my fingers. If you are not a huge fan of rice, there is also chee cheong fun, noodles made of rice paste in order to complement your alternative taste. No matter what sort of carbohydrates you decide to consume, it is best you arrive there around 2 to 3pm; the queue will never stop, and it is always alright for any Malaysian to take advantage of even a lesser queue to have that steaming plate of Nasi Lemak you have been craving all day/night/month/year/your life long.
