I absolutely loved Twelve Cups! My sister(who lives and works in Penang) was showing me her favorite spots around town during my visit. I felt so fortunate to have a «local» showing me around, and Twelve Cups is my sister’s favorite café. So why is this her favorite spot? I actually asked her this at the time of writing and she said: «their truffle fries, the rose cappuccino, their brunch, and dessert…» basically everything. Twelve Cups has almost anything food-wise you’d ever want from a café. It’s a mix of eastern and western flavors, and they also have wifi access, sunny seating areas, a clean-cut and modern interior. Their building located in the white arcades. Between two, we ordered: –rose cappuccino –wild mushroom soup –truffle fries –shifudo crêpe-yaki(Asian-inspired thick crêpe) –Daffy’s Pride(duck breast eggs benedict) We were beyond full and the amount we ordered could actually feed three people. Their portions are large enough to be shared. Even though menus are placed on each table, you go up to the counter to order. My three faves were the wild mushroom soup(which comes with a mini roasted garlic bread), the rose cappuccino(with gorgeous latté art and sprinkled with dried rose petals, and the truffle fries(served piping hot with a side of cheesy sauce). Overall, this is a spot that I’d visit over and over again if I lived in Penang. It’s definitely not hard to become a regular here :)
