Sukiya

As my friend suggested me to come to this after knowing that I like gyudon and Japanese Curry, I must say that this place doesn’t disappoint. While I usually go to the branch in Taipan, their staff in this branch are very hospitable compared. Not to say that the one in Taipan is less good, but the waiters here made sure to greet you properly and they are just very friendly.
Medium size gyudon is sold at RM8.40 and which is a very good deal, provided their medium size is actually huge. You can always complete your don with some side dishes, and make it a set meal, where you could choose the side that you want, with a drink.
My favorite here would be their gyudon with spring onion and ontama — the eggy goodness is the bomb here! Ontama could also be ordered as a separate side at RM2.50 — not cheap, but too good to resist. I have tried on multiple attempts to make my own ontama, but it’s no where near how the ones sold out there is like.
Even though getting a parking spot in Uptown is always tough, but I’m returning for sure, and to try their Japanese curry the next visit!

Authentic gyudon is what Sukiya serves. This Japanese franchise shop follows the design and décor of many such restaurants in Japan. It’s cosy and the Gyudon is great. Service here is also exceptional and fast. For those who don’t eat beef there are chicken options as well and some shoyu ramen. Do try out the kara-​age which is freshly fried tender pieces of chicken done to perfection.

There’s cheap Gyudon/​Terriyaki here around the busy street! Located at uptown damansara this small shop lot is my choice of having a quick lunch when I’m craving for Japanese rice.
The environment here is clean & neat. You will see people coming in & out on a fast paced working days, orders are made thru self-​service. Price here are considered cheap, a set of your choice & add on for drinks. My favourite here is the cheese gyudon, cheese mixed with beef slices. For people who don’t eat beef there’s always a chicken terriyaki set available here.
A perfect spot for me having quick lunch/​dinner.
