Just so-so. I was so excited to try authentic ramen in Japan, and was disappointed. The noodles were ok, the broth way too salty and the pork tough. The ambience and service were great tho!

Awesome. Definitely the best ramen in Yokosuka period! You and your tastebuds deserve this in your life, especially on a cold day!

The best ramen I’ve had thus far in Yokosuka! It’s in a little ramen shop right next to Coco Ichibanya Curry House, across the street from the Daiei Mall. There’s a vending machine in the front that you put your yen into and the machine will spit out a ticket for you to give to the chef. There’s only about 10 or so seats so don’t come with too many people(typically a good rule to follow anywhere in Japan, lol). The chef is the only one working there so it might take a while to receive your order. Don’t expect the speed of restaurants back in the States. After you hand the chef your ticket, he’ll ask you whether you want your soup light or thick, oil less or more, and the hardness of your noodles(soft or al dente). There’s a huge sign behind the chef in case you forget and don’t worry, it’s in English! Water is self-serve(right next to the ticket machine); you just grab your cup of water and take it back to your seat. Tissues are also conveniently located underneath the water cups. Out of all the ramen places my husband and I have tried so far in the local area of Yokosuka, this has got to be one of the best.

This is the best ramen in Yokosuka! It is located across from Daiei next to Coco’s Curry with a red noren(decorative cloth at the entrance). Its not a gathering restaurant, but an «eat your ramen and go» joint. You can order your noodles soft or aldente, soup light or thick, and oil less or more. There are condiments in front of you to add such as vinegar, chili sauce, garlic, ginger, and black pepper. You create your order by selecting the size of your ramen and adding desired extra ingredients via the ticket machine at the entrance. I highly recommend this restaurant! Oishi desu.

I’m going to just second everything that’s already been said about this place. It tastes great and is very inexpensive and is in a good location(across the street from Daiei). I’d also like to add that I love the fact that you order through the machine; you select what you want, put in your yen and then hand him the ticket. That way when you are done eating you can simply leave. No need to wait and pay for a check. One thing I will add though is that this is a small joint so don’t think about bringing a large group here.

Man and I thought I had good Ramen in NYC. I was wrong. This is how you do Ramen. So simple, so delicious. Perfection in a bowl. Not much more needs to be said.

Awesome ramen! Haven’t found«bad» ramen anywhere, but this is the best. I always get mine thick more al dente. If you eat here you’ll see what I’m talking about. The chef’s going to ask anyway. The chef is super friendly. Every time my family and I eat here, he starts preparing our bowls be cause he knows what we want. Perk of being a regular I guess. If your hungry and want some good ramen then this is the place.

Great ramen. I’ve eaten at red droit ramen a multitude of times and this place beats it hands down. The menu is very basic but you can adjust the spiciest level with all the additional spices available. I got the medium with pork.(¥1100) and I was full and satisfied when I walked out. Vey good base and noodles.

This place is a small, simple ramen counter with only one type of base(tonkotsu) and amazing noodles. It is better than all of the ramen shops around the base with the exception of Zushiya. The only side dish is rice(you can have various toppings) which is one of the best we have had at a ramen shop in Japan. I ordered my normal hard noodles, strong broth, and regular oil. It was hearty and warm. You may wonder what makes a ramen joint five stars — it’s the simple things. 1. The broth — there are about 6 tonkotsu joints around the base and the lack of pork taste kills me. Tonkotsu is a pork base, ie pork bone ramen. This place has an old dude who listens to the radio and his gift to every one of us is his soul mastery. 2. Noodles — Cooked the right way to your order. I like them thick — so Kyushu style is my nemesis. Here they are hearty and right. 3. Toppings — egg has to be soft in the center not hard boiled(usually perfect here) & meat tasty and soft. If you want variety and lack of quality go to the one with the red sign down the street.

One of many ramen spots in Yokosuka, I find this place to be my favorite. Serving a pork based broth, you can customize the flavor slightly by telling the single cook how thick you want your soup, how much oil to use, and how done you want your noodles to be. You can also order the customary spread of extra toppings like a soft boiled egg, more pork, scallions, etc. They also have tins of garlic and ginger to add a little kick if you want it. If you’re familiar with the area, you may have heard about the popularity of «red» ramen near the Yokosuka Naval Base. However, I recommend this place over the other — even though they do serve different variations of ramen which precludes a direct comparison. This place is small but there usually isn’t much of a crowd so waiting shouldn’t be an issue.
