went there for lunch. food was good and plentiful. reasonably priced. good service. Entertainment was named Casey, talented and friendly, interacted with the crowd like an old friend. The only downfall was no tables, you had to sit at the bar to eat.

I realize this is a reflection of the one bartender and not the establishment in general but I am hoping this review gets the only lady bartender working on Saturday June 4th lectured about manners. In general my group had a great time here. We danced all night. They had a big dance floor, eclectic group of people, and beats that inspired the feet. To the negative: I was having a great night as the Maid of Honor of an 8 person Bachelorette Party this past Saturday night. I generally let it roll off my shoulder when something goes awry but I felt pretty offended by one of Echo’s Bartenders. I brought 8 people to this establishment to drink and have a grand time but one bartender was extremely rude. I was not really drinking as I was in charge of herding and coordinating 8 ladies, whom bought several beverages. It was already not awesome that they only accept cash and their credit card machine charges a fee when you take money out, but I accepted that. However, at the end of the night I ordered 2 waters. My first time at the bar, mind you. The lady serving me took my order then served several other people before making some snotty comments and refused to give me two waters. She gave me one and ignored all eye contact. As I could barely hear what she was saying, I assumed I heard her wrong. I waited patiently with a smile holding the one water she gave me. When she came to the register near me I politely said«Could I get one more water please?» She glanced at me and with a smile said«You are not even going to tip.» Then continued helping other patrons. I am not sure if she mistook me for someone else but I was highly offended and in my head all I could think was«Well, of course, now I definitely will not.» I am almost positive it is illegal to refuse to serve water, when it is requested at a bar, but walked away defeated as I am not one who appreciates confrontation. Most the other staff was lovely but one experience like this can really taint a night out. The bride, whom was wearing a sash and tiara to identify herself, went up to the same bartender, unbeknownst to me, and she was rude to the bride as well, when she ordered a water. Although we made the bride agree that when she wanted anything she would make one of her Bridesmaids get it, she did not want to bother us to get her a water. This I found out the next day and it infuriated me, as it was her bachelorette party and she is clearly marked. She is the reason many ladies are at Echo and I wanted her to be talking about what an awesome time she had the next day. But the first thing she talked about was how rude this bartender was the one time she went to the bar. I don’t understand the rudeness.

The absolute worst bar I have ever been to. As said in other reviews the bouncers seem to think they are of some importance beyond the job title. If you are not local don’t even bother… The thousands we pour into the island mean nothing to this establishment. The bartender seemed to try his best to be friendly and accommodating but the oh so friendly locals and bouncers don’t want your business… After 20 years coming here one night at this place made me reconsider where we will go from now on! FYI to local businesses your employees go here in uniform drinking beyond what they can handle and make complete fools of them selves —

The best bar in North Wildwood. I left my wallet here August of 2014 and July 2015 the owner had it for me, and he expected nothing! He is a great business owner. Staff is awesome. I love this place!

Bouncers are on serious power trips and incredibly rude. I also find it interesting that the owner, Joseph Rullo, North Wildwood, City Council member frequently has police come by and make bogus arrests on tourists who just spent a bunch of money in his crappy«nightclub». Wish someone would expose this misappropriated use of power but then again someone is always getting a kick back in North Wildwood.

An unclean, dive bar that usually results in late night dancing and drinks… and the occasional visit from the paddy wagon to take out the trash. Bathroom is nasty. Place hasn’t changed in years. Sign when you come in still says«Still STD Free since 1976» or something. Classy.

You check in twice at a place and now you peg me as a regular? Free to get in all night but they make up for it with well overpriced beers and watered down drinks. The house always wins. If you are in Cape May and don’t want to drive the 25 minutes to AC and would like to wear what you did to clean out the pool, Echo’s is for you. Now don’t take me wrong, for some reason there are people that dress up to come here. I don’t know exactly why… But they do. Another reason for a 2 star review is the bartenders or the kinds of guys that know they are working for tips but don’t want to act like they NEED your tips. I’ve been a bartender before in Atlanta and when someone gives you a tip you take it a say thank you or some salutation. Leaving it on the bar is rude. I thought maybe it was because the bartender felt it was too small(which 4 dollars for 2 beers is not) but then I realized the stacks of money circling the bar were other peoples tips as well. If I’m wrong for thinking that this is a rude way of conducting business please let me know… seriously. While writing this particular review I’m wondering why I didn’t start off just giving this place 1 star and I realized… You get what you pay for.

Oooooh Echo’s. There is really nothing good to say about their décor(Still STD Free sign), prices or cleanliness… but every time I go to Echo’s it is a ridiculously fun night. Many years ago I wandered into Echo’s with a friend after being completely disgusted with pushing through the crowds out Keenan’s(pre-expansion, pre-renovation — not to say this has improved anything at Keenan’s). The Echo’s DJ plays a mix of old and new songs that keep the crowd going. If you get there between 10 – 12; it will be dead so you won’t have to wait in line and can quickly slam back your light beer of choice to prepare yourself for a night of actin a fool. I strongly recommend sticking with bottled beer, their taps are rank! Also, they are CASHONLY. After about midnight the dance floor fills with all walks of life; from sloppy, trolling 20-somethings to Jersey-Shore rats to middle-aged cats trying to relive their youth. Early in the night it will be freezing in there, but by the time you walk out at 3AM you will feel like you just left a sauna. Their AC system never stands a chance from all that heat on the dance floor!

I was here last Saturday night after bar hopping around the island. I must say that this was my least favorite place between every place I had been. We made it here around 12. The bouncers outside were friendly and funny. I figured I was about to have a good time. Inside however was a different story. The DJ was playing a bit of a mix. One minute there would be a recent popular song, and the next minute he was playing Apache by the Sugar Hill Gang… Uh okay, I can handle a mix. There was a mixture of crowd, I’ll take it. The people frequenting the bar like I said was a mix. However, it wasn’t the older crowd that annoyed me but the younger crowd. Yes, those people who were my age. They seemed to be completely disrespectful around the establishment. A lot of gym rats who thought they were God’s gift to Earth. I am young and a gym rat, these things don’t go to my head. They seemed to be rather annoying. Once again, I won’t fault Echo’s for the crowd. However, it was how we were treated by the employees that aggravated me. Like most places in Wildwood, this place doesn’t accept cards. We found this out while ordering a round of shots. Okay, no big deal. I can accept that considering most of its peers are run the same way. But the way the employee handled this situation was absolutely disgusting. We ordered a round of shots. When my friend went to hand the bartender, another too big for his shirt gym rat, her card he said they did not accept cards. Okay, no problem. Before she was able to pull her wallet out of her purse, the bartender shrugged his shoulders, shook his head, picked up the three shots, put two in front of what looked to be two blonde bimbos who were unaware of what a full shirt looked like, and took one for himself cheering the girls and drinking our shots. At that exact moment, I walked out and took my business back to Flip Flopz whose employees happened to appreciate the business. I know Wildwood will get a bit busy but just a heads up, Echo’s. Try treating the locals a little better. We’re still around when your summer crowds aren’t.

Echo’s advertises that it is STD-free. Can’t beat that! They always have a great DJ, great bartenders and great bouncers. There’s three different bars inside with a dancefloor in the center. There’s also a pool table. It’s been awhile since I frequented this bar, but I think Wednesdays are the dollar beer nights. Sidenote: On my most recent visit, I had a shot called a teabomb, which I had never heard of before. It was amazeballs.

Typical Jersey Shore douchebag bar. Unless you are some dude who wears pop collars/Tap-Out gear and has serious roid rage, then this place is perfect. If you are some brainless bimbo with an IQ as big as their shoe size, then this place is perfect. If you are none of those that I mentioned, then I suggest you go elsewhere.

Echo’s is a wonderful escape from the typical douchie«shore bars» with their pretentious customers who act like their not from«the neighborhood» or just don’t know about the neighborhood with their popped collars who think that by paying ballpark prices for beers makes them cool. Echo’s is probably the least expensive bar in Wildwood. Mondays and Wednesdays are $ 1.50 bottles night. Where you can enjoy ice cold Miller Lite, Coors Light, and High Life bottles for just a buck and a half. The staff is friendly and attentive. They also treat people the way they deserve to be treated. If you are a polite customer with your order ready and money in hand you will be served with a smile in a timely fashion and if you are a rude ape that doesn’t tip and acts like a spoiled reality show child you will be treated as such and most likely in a comical way. For whatever reason, this place does not get terribly busy early which is fine by me because I am not a big fan of crowds. It is also, as cold as a meat locker early in the evening which is a rare thing for a shore bar. Kudos for that because who wants to sweat while enjoying a cold one(or 10). However, after 1 am this place explodes and is clearly the best time to be had for those living la vida loca. Echo’s seems to be the spot where everyone finishes off their night. Lifeguards, other bar and restaurant workers, vacationing shoobies, beach bunnies, civil service members, local celebrities, politicians, and escaped mental patients all end up at Echo’s. The Entertainment, customers aside, is always fun. The DJ’s do a great job setting the mood. Early on in the night they take it slow and by the time the lights go up the dance floor is full off sweaty drunks loving life. I’m pretty sure the DJ’s have as much fun as any of the customers and they certainly lead the charge for those yearning for the«Wildwood Nights» experience. If you want a good time then this is your place. If you like to bitch about everything and are cheap then stay home.

PROS: Usually picks up towards the end of the night. Decent pool tables. No cover. Good if you want a break from the whole old folks AOH pubs common in North Wildwood. CONS: Like a lot of Shore places, overcrowded after 1AM, but practically dead beforehand. Doesn’t seem like people want to meet here yet they hang out in packs isolating themselves.
