A really outstanding breakfast. Good coffee. I am gluten free. They had outstanding gluten free toast, the first whole grain type gluten free bread I have seen. My Omelette Florentine had tons of spinach and was light and fluffy. The portions are very large. My wife got the half serving of oatmeal and it was plenty. The place has high ceilings and a nice atmosphere. All our servers seemed happy to work here and we very attentive. I would look for this place again when I come to Walla Walla.

What a fabulous breakfast-and I dont even like breakfast! The best espresso drink I have ever had(viennese?) with what I believe was some sort of espresso infused whipped cream. Amazing! I had the veggie scramble with local vegetables and the most imoressive side of fruit I have ever seen. The service was great. Everyone was very sweet and attentive. Food was quickly prepared. The ambiance is amazing and exactly what I was looking for. If you are travelling tnrough you need to stop here. Unforgettable and a true gem in a small town!

The salmon eggs benedict is one of the best I’ve ever had. The bread was perfect, not soggy or too hard. I read that the apple pancake is a must try. I really wanted to try it but I didn’t want anything too sweet and the portion was too big.

Cool old style breakfast place with good food and good service! Poached eggs could be cooked longer, medium? I love Sandy! :-)

A friend and I went to brunch last Saturday and we were told we would have a 20 minute wait for a table. We waited nearly an hour. When we got to the table, the surfaces were sticky. Table, chairs, everything. We were seated near the door of the kitchen where several times waiters would exit the kitchen, glance around and then go back into the kitchen as though they had no idea what was happening. To add to an already sub-par experience, all of the female employees were clad in seemingly religious garb– I was shocked that the long skirts were actually their work uniform and not evidence of belonging to a strict religious sect. The food wasn’t terrible, but it didn’t make up for the rest of the experience.

We had a phenomenal, gourmet, breakfast! Located in the heart of downtown Walla Walla, The Maple Counter is the best place to go for breakfast, brunch, or lunch. I ordered apple pancakes and a variety of sides including eggs and toast with homemade jam. This is a must do if you are in Walla Walla!

Good Breakfast, huge breakfast! This place was slammed, but service was great and fast. I had the special frittata with chorizo. There was not enough chorizo and it was a bland at that, but it was ok. The pancakes that came as the side(go figure) were outstanding. This would have been a meal I could have split with my wife, but she wanted the German pancake. This was a very light, fluffy and huge pancake. I got to try a bite and it was very tasty. She also ordered a side of fruit which was god awful. We did not finish the meal, but enjoyed it. The other food coming out looked great.

We walked in and were seated quickly for a later lunch. Breakfast all day is a plus. We had hot chocolate that was almost to beautiful to drink. We had the delicious blintzes with cherry sauce. Four very filling blintzes delivered piping hot. As good as I’ve had. Tried to order the Rachel special but they were out of turkey. Opted for the New Yorker. They brought me a Reuben instead. I ate it anyway. It was fantastic. If you opt for the fries as you side, ask them to give you half as much. Too many toe at. All in all a very good spot.

Pretty cool place. Went there on Friday and Saturday morning. On Friday it was nearly empty. We were seated immediately and got excellent service. Had the biscuits and gravy and some kind of omelet with a side of pancakes and bacon. Biscuits and gravy were kind of weird for me. I love savory breakfasts but these maybe had a few too many herbs — might be perfect for some, but didn’t satisfy me. The bacon was great, though wife said it was overdone. She said her pancakes were the best she’s ever had. That’s pretty high praise. Went back Saturday specifically to try the apple pancake. It was way bigger than I imagined even after seeing photos. We should have just shared it, but we also wanted to try the quiche of the day(bacon, mushroom, gouda, etc). The apple pancake was just OK — it’s very eggy and heavy, like bread pudding. And it’s a ton of food, but probably a little overpriced at $ 15. Oh, and since this is the most popular breakfast spot in town, be prepared to wait about an hour on the weekends, unless you want to come at noon.

I don’t quite know where to start with this place… First off, we are so hardcore we drove from Pendleton, OR to Walla Walla 80% for this place. We had heard from a few people this place was great and also the pictures posted on the Unilocal were irresistible. And we’re fatties. After about a 45 minute drive we arrived and of course at 9:25am this place was schlammmed. Fortunately, only about 15 minute wait for a two top!(Busy restaurant hack btw, less company = faster eatin’. Its a win-loss thing but sometimes food is better? Idk.) ANYWAY after days of narrowing down menu choices we settled on the apple pancake(photo attached) and this veggie omelet thing to keep it real yo. Both awesome accompanied by local brewed coffee and a mimosa ;) Service was outstanding here. I want to say our main server(they all helped each other in a big staff mass) was named Erica. She was attentive and efficient and also spent time telling us about the area. Idk why I needed to write a big review, other people have basically taken care of it. But I digress, go eat here especially if you are in Pendleton haha. It doesn’t make sense but some places are worth the travel!

Went here for breakfast this morning, and really liked this place. I was actually heading somewhere else, but drove by and decided to stop and check out the Unilocal reviews. Based on those, I went in. It was pretty busy for a Wednesday morning, but I was able to be seated right away, so that was nice. I started with a Chai Latte, and I was given a bowl, which was basically the size of a cereal or ice cream bowl. In other words, it was HUGE! I love drinking lattes in big cups, so this was great. There was no handle, so it basically was a bowl. Latte was delicious and sprinkled liberally with cinnamon. Delish! I decided on Swedish pancakes with a side of bacon, and I wished I had taken a photo of the pancakes, because they were so big, they covered the entire plate, and were pretty much falling off. I think I’ve only eaten Swedish pancakes once before, but they sounded good, so I wanted to try them again. They were really thin and moist, so pretty different from traditional fluffy and thick pancakes. I thought they were very good, but too much, so I probably ate less than half. The side order of bacon came with four thick pieces, and they were also very good, but four was too much for me, so again I only ate half. Décor was cute and service was excellent, I just thought the prices were a little high(hence the 4 stars instead of 5). But overall a really good breakfast with a nice variety of options.

Our first restaurant meal in Walla Walla for breakfast after the first night of The Gentleman of the Road Tour with Foo Fighters and Mumford and Sons. The town was packed for what locals have told us was«the biggest thing that has ever happened in Walla Walla.» Because of that, we were told that the wait was anywhere between 1.5&3 hours but we weren’t in a rush and seriously starving so we braved the hunger pangs. The wait was well worth it and we ate to our hearts’ delight. I avoided the German Pancake because even though it looked tasty, it was 1⁄3 the size of those served at Elmer’s. Instead we ate the Corned Beef and Traditional with lattes, milk and a carafe of fresh squeezed OJ($ 12). The bacon was, perhaps, the best I’ve ever had in my short 42 years and the homemade preserves made the thick pieces of sourdough toast melt in our mouths. The service was great for how busy they were and our second day started out perfectly as we waddled out and down the closed streets to enjoy the GOTR festivities. DAYTWO. We had to come back! This time the wait was only 45 minutes and it was delicious yet again. This time I had the Strawberry Blintzes with a side of sourdough, bacon, an iced latte and we split a carafe of fresh squeezed OJ. Great food and service as usual

In a Sunday bender through the double Walla, my brunch date and I appeared at the Maple Counter primarily due to Unilocal reviews and pictures. Certainly the Apple Pancake was touted as a force of nature, so that was our intent. At around 11 — 11:30am on a Sunday, this joint is hoppin’ with breakfast lovers. Wait to get seated was about 30 minutes. Once seated service was fairly quick and very friendly. While waffling over the idea of peach crepes(on special), we convinced ourselves to stick with our initial prospect of their flagship dish. It certainly makes an impression as it is placed, sizzling onto the table. Easily 2 – 3 inches thick and the circumference of a tractor tire, it is a delight to look at and inhale. There are positives about it — the apple syrup and crusted cinnamon/sugar on top, but the pancake was more like a quiche. Very eggy and ultimately not as good as we had hoped. Not our cup of tea, unfortunately — but if it intrigues you, bring at least 3 – 4 people to share this dish! I will note that the whispers around the room always said«Look at the size of this dish!» and never«this is the best dish I’ve had!» which concerns me. However, this meal and trepidation would not disuade us from showing our faces there again and partaking in one of the other great looking dishes. Perhaps we will find our niche and improve on this rating. On a side note, there is a WAFFLE food truck along side the business which was rather unpopulated. Perhaps if the wait times were extreme as they seem to be, this may be a good alternative. Who doesn’t like a food truck or waffles?! Positives: Enormous portions, great presentation, fun experience, price was reasonable considering product. Negatives: Gets very busy so seating times can get long, food did not hit the spot.

Maple Counter is a cute breakfast shop. The service was great but the food was a bit disappointing. My husband ordered the Baja scramble which was a bit under seasoned and was mostly cheese more than egg, he described it as gelatinous. I ordered the Mexican omelet which was soggy and plate was filled with oil. When I asked the waiter if this was normal, she immediately apologized and said«wow that looks inedible». Our waitress was very nice and took it back and returned with a more normal looking omelette which was tasty and she was very nice and took it off our bill. We ordered the apple cinnamon pancake as well as the chocolate chip pancake. No complaints there!

If you are hungry and want large portions, this is the place, just don’t expect anything unusual for breakfast. My party of 14 was not seated until everyone of us was present, per their policy. Totally understand because this is a busy place. The service was very good considering the size of my group, and all of the entrees were out at the same time. Impressive! I have actually been here several times and had different menu items each time. The first time I fell for the apple pancake, which took me four days to eat the whole thing, no joke. I ended up throwing out some on the last day because my body was screaming for another food group. Next, I tried the fruit blintzes. I couldn’t decide between the three fruit options, so the waitress suggested one of each. Loved these, but my sugar quota was filled for the next decade. The blintzes were really very, very good, just too sweet, or rich. Today, I had the Tradition because I needed protein, and eggs seemed a safe bet. My eggs were scrambled, toast was perfect, and the potatoes were very tasty. I swear the portion of potatoes was meant for a family of eight. I will be back in the future because there are a few more menu items I would like to try, like the quiche and the Blueberry Cobbler French toast. My only suggestion would be to cut down on the size of the portions and add some healthier menu choices with a bit more creativity.

Country home atmosphere with decadent breakfast favorites as well as many specialty items. Pancakes options galore and french toast too, this place is a doozie for someone with a sweet tooth! Also, they have a variety of mimosas, Irish coffee and fresh squeezed orange and grapefruit juice. 4 stars for food and 4 stars for service/cleanliness, this place does it right. I also contacted them via email for a gift certificate and they mailed it straight to the recipient and even included a personal message.

This place was totally worth the 20 minute wait! We had the apple pancake & Northwestern Eggs Benedict. Both were better than expected, but we could eat no more. In fact, we had to take almost half of the pancake home. The lattes they offer are as good as you will find at a local coffee shop that would need to compete with Starbucks right next door. There are MANY restaurants in Walla Walla, but we will go the the Maple Counter next time!
