Disappointed. Overpriced. Fries were better than the burger. Bland bacon cheeseburger. The meat had no taste. Decent sized portions. Friendly staff. Everyone said hello just like at Moe’s. But, Moe’s food is tastier and a better value. I know burgers to burritos is like apples to tomatoes. I do not think $ 13 for this meal — BCB, small frie and regular drink — is a good value.

Sure. Why not? It’s quick, easy, and damn good. Seriously, that good. My solid choice is always a bacon cheeseburger with most of the toppings especially grilled onions and mushrooms. The best part are the fries. It’s as if the brown fo-tee bag doesn’t have a bottom. If you like Cajun, I’d recommend going with Cajun fries. And as fattening as this meal will be, no food coma!!!

I’ve been ordering here about 6 years and have never had a bad meal. The fries are made when you get there so they are always perfectly piping hot from fresh potatoes. One large fry feeds two people with ease. I get mine without the cajun, if you don’t like messy food I recommend this as the cajun coats everything in the bag and gets your hands nice and, seasony, as you’re going in for your burger. The two dinky picnic napkins they give you don’t exactly suck up the grease, or the extra seasoning going all over the place in the bag. Normally I would like to order lettuce and tomato on my burger, but with this place its not a good idea. They wrap the burger in foil which holds the heat in, so while you’re driving from there to your house, its basically cooking your lettuce and that’s not so yummy. This is a better place to order something like a mushroom swiss from. They stack multiple layers of thin burgers on top each other, so if you’re looking for a more sink your teeth into type burger, I recommend Village Inn’s All World Double Cheese which is two big thick fat stacks of beef layer with two types of cheeses, bacon, and a bunch of other stuff I usually leave off. Overall though, you can’t beat fresh fried potatoes in peanut oil, and a tasty thin fried crispy edge burger if that’s what your in the mood for this is the place.

Don’t need a long, detailed review for a burger joint. Nothing fancy. They taste like [real] burgers right off the grill unlike the fast food places. You get an extra fistful of fries so just order the small. Cajun seasoning is great!

Always friendly service, always quick turn around. But the reason it gets a 4 instead of a 5? Burgers could be better…

What more can I say, and keep saying repeatedly, for that matter? I will drive past a McAwful’s/Burger King/Wendy’s that are giving food away for free, to pay to eat here? Five Guys is that good. And McAwful’s/Burger King/Wendy’s is that bad. So. You get to stand and watch your food get made? Fries cooked right in front of you? Everything you order is fresh and hot? You never walk out of the place hungry? What kind of madness is this? Can’t answer that one. For beyond my ability to comprehend, the chain burger joints continue to thrive, without having met any of the criteria above? I guess people want cheap, which Five Guys ain’t, and(more times than not) cold, and poorly prepared burgers instead. Well, their loss is my gain. I cannot eat burgers like I used to be able to do in my younger days. And I damn sure cannot eat here at Five Guys but every once in awhile(or else I would be sweating peanut oil). But, when the day’s travels put me in the mind for a burger, if I cannot get to one of my local mom and pop’s(Whataburger or Smitty’s) I drive to a Five Guys. And do not even give McAwfuls/Burger King/Wendy’s a single thought… Highly recommended.

Delicious cheeseburger. HUGE! Next time I’m gonna go for the one patty. Fries were enough for 3 people. Cooked in peanut oil. Sliced on site. Drink machine has a lot of options. The one thing keeping it from 5 stars is lack of a kids menu.

It’s been too long since I visited this location of Five Guys. I have never had a poor experience here and love the location since it is not far from where I reside. What Five Guys does is keep it simple, just burgers, fries and hot dogs. What is unique about them is the quality products and ingredients used by the DC based burger chain. But dig deeper and you will find more that is unheard of in the fast food industry. Such as there is no freezer on the premise… their food is NEVER frozen. The ground beef is always fresh, thus the reason they deliver a great burger off the grill each time. Also by using only peanut oil for cooking they offer a healthier option to competitors. What else is different, employees make you feel good about your dining experience. Now that is something special and unheard of among chain burger joints. My visit today was flawless and food tasty. The dining room was clean and an employee was cleaning tables and sweeping the floor as is typical since the peanuts make such a mess. I also visited the restroom and found them in great condition with minor debris on the floor. I enjoyed the banter of the five to six employees working hard behind the counter. As a matter of fact I learned something new that you will not find on their company website. Anyone that is a customer knows that they have 50 pound bags of potatoes on skids around the store. What you may not know is that it is a company requirement that each employee be able to cut up a 50 pound bag in 5 minutes. Each store records it’s own employee’s best time. This location’s record to cut up a 50 pound bag is 1:14 seconds. Another store in the Hampton Roads area is 58 seconds, one of the best in the entire chain. If you have never checked them out before it’s worth your time to experience a Five Guys burger sooner than later. But keep in mind if your taking a family it is downright not affordable in my opinion, thus the reason a star has been taken away. A family of four could spend $ 40 some bucks. As a single, or double not too bad of a deal. Quality vs. affordability has always been an issue with me. Here is a fun fact, how many different ways are there to order a Five Guys Burger? Would you believe 250,000 according to their website.

The first time that I wandered into a 5 Guys was several years ago in Alexandria, VA. Since then, I’ve been semi-hooked for those times when I need… well…a 5 Guys fix. This is the place to stop when you are hungry and need a freshly cooked burger and a bushel of french fries. From a sheer bulk perspective, very few places can beat 5 Guys for the amount of food that they can fit in a brown paper bag. Your feelings for this place are all going to boil down to perspective, or specifically how you view this place. If you think of it as a competitor to fast food burger places like McDonald’s, Burger King, Hardees, Wendy’s, etc… then this place is a no brainer. None of those places can touch 5 Guys, even on their best days. If you think of this as a diner/joint sort of place, then you might have other options. One huge disadvantage of 5 Guys in that competitive field is also its strength: The menu. 5 Guys is very much a one trick pony. Burgers. A diner will have much more selection on the menu. If you are a burger fan, come here. You will be greeted as soon as you walk in the door, and someone will wish you well on your way back out. The music selection is right up my alley(how can you NOT love a place that is playing Green Day Basket Case??).

So Friday the Wife had a dinner to go to and I was on my own for a quick bite to eat and since this place is close to home I decided to pop in for a burger MISTAKE! I got a regular cheese burger $ 7.82 no fries, no drink just the burger, the bun was stale, the burger way over cooked and dry despite condiments and the wait was 5 minute for basically a lousy burger! Cooked well done and juicy maybe they need to rethink the slogan and sorry but $ 7.82 for what they are serving is way to much. In comparison I got a cheeseburger big bite from 7 – 11 $ 2.22, was prefrozen and cooked well done and WAS juicy and the bun was not stale! Scary huh! I went two stars one as the lady at the counter was nice and one cause the place was clean but the food meh me thinks not!

I live in Va. Beach and the Independence Blvd. locale is the 5 guys I frequent the most so that is where this Unilocal post will be found, but I am comfortable with the disclaimer that any five guys you have the opportunity to visit i think you should do so if you enjoy a tasty burger. I used to frequent a Tampa Florida location back in 2007 – 2008 and the one in the Outer Banks is delish as well. Not gonna lie, Five Guys is really good. I like how they have quite the assortment of toppings/condiments for the burgers. Whatever your fancy get what you want. I don’t venture off my normal path too often. However a splash of A1 or hot sauce on my burger every now and then is awesome. And malt vinegar and ketchup for fries, drool. I made the mistake of ordering a regular sized burger AND a large order of regular fries my first time way back in the day… wow can you say food coma? Too much for one person. Don’t come alone and share an order of fries. Preferably Cajun. I love cheeseburgers. It’s true, I have a problem. I’ll pay any price to feed my insatiable addiction and no amount is too high. With that being said 5 guys is quality and you get what ya pay for. Bottom line is that I really like Five Guys.

So by now pretty much EVERYONE knows how great five guys is. But, if you have been living under a rock here’s some things you should know : Skip mcdonalds. forget about restaurant burgers… five guys is the best burger for the money… it costs almost the same as fast food & its WAYFRESHER&WAYTASTIER. been to the west coast, tried their pride& joy of burgerdom: IN N OUT and it still doesnt hold up to FIVEGUYS! go east coast!

This location was super clean and the staff was super friendly. The burgers are so damn tasty and the fries, well I could kill for the fries. You gotta throw some malt vinegar on them, trust me! They don’t have the bottles out for nothing. And I love how they keep their bags of potatoes out in the dining area so you know they are fresh and where they come from. I also love how you can pick your own toppings. They cook right in the open so you can see them preparing everything. There is nothing fancy about the way they serve your order either. One big, greasy bag(if you ordered fries. and how could you NOT order the fries) handed to you. So good!

I have been to Five Guys more times than I can count on one hand. The burgers are quite delicious. The first time I went in, I was expecting something akin to a boutique, and I’m glad I was wrong! It was very down home and the menu was simple. It’s burgers and fries, with hot dogs added if beef isn’t on your taste buds. I have found that the regular hamburger, with 2 patties, is a little much for me. With all the extra toppings you can add, it can be Eiffel Tower big if you let it. If you want to leave full, but not over stuffed, get the Little Hamburger and share the fries. My favorite toppings are bbq style: grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, mayo and ketchup. To Die For! Now on to the fries. Not only do they give you a full cup of fries, but they add an additional dishful to the bag, so you really do have plenty if you decide to share. Being cooked in peanut oil gives them a robust flavor, and you can opt for cajun seasoning if that’s your mood. However, if you’re looking for ranch for your fries, that would be a big no. You get ketchup, ketchup, or ketchup(or mayo with ketchup). All in all, the service is always quick(I have never waited more than 10 minutes after my order is placed) and they are a great deal. I grew up in SoCal with In-And-Out Burger, and I would absolutely favorably compare the two.

Apparently Unilocal won’t let me keep using the word«nom» over and over again. In lieu of my being able to keep typing«nom» repeatedly, just say it a few times and you’ll understand what I am attempting to convey. Best said if you like a hearty cheeseburger and overdose of fresh French fries. Thumbs up: Nomminess, nommy cheeseburgers and fries.

Bottom Line: Best of the franchises but has issues. Also not the best as price vs taste goes! Not the greatest burger and fry place in the nation but among the better burgers you can get regionally. I am biased because I love In&Out as I am from California. Also I have had a top notch Burger from Fire & Vine in Virginia Beach but the main issue with five guys is that there food is overly greasy. From burger to fries you have to accept that you will be eating a portion of grease with your meal. It is this grease issue that takes away from taste. If I must have a fast food type burger then this is the best place to get it but if time is not an issue I will say you can do better for the same price point at other locations in Hampton Roads.

A few of my friends told me that this place was not all that good so I figured I would just skip it… so for about 6 years now I have avoided this place. Today a coworker brought up the idea of everyone going here to eat and I am glad he did. He also noted that if I liked jalapeño’s that this place had some of the freshest tasting jalapeño’s he had. I love jalapeño’s and he was right… they are fresh, not pickled and jarred! I ordered a little bacon cheeseburger as the little is on ¾lb patty! It was more than enough. A regular is two patties!!! I also got a regular order if fries and it was enough fried to feed a small army. The fries are also cut fresh & you can get them normal or with cajun. They have a good selection of toppings… very good to include sautéed onions &A1 sauce. If you are a fan of big juicy burgers that you can top your way, this place is the shit!
