This place is definitely a toss up. The hostess at night is very rude. Her name is Ingrid and is a heavy set woman. I don’t know if she is just not happy with herself but she is a very rude and nasty woman. A bit of advice, if you are not happy with your job, quit! Find somewhere else to go because I have been going to Village Inn for years and you are not a good fit! Change your attitude if you want to be in the hospitality business. God I hope she doesn’t last long there. Every time I go in there and I see her face, I want to turn around and leave. I should have only given one star but I gave three because I still love the food and the servers there are great. Unfortunately, I didn’t see my favorite waitress but I’m sure there is a good reason.

Bobby likes breakfast but me not so much so I love places that offer both at all times! I had the turkey, bacon & avocado melt & it was delish! Bobby’s over easy eggs were perfect! Our server, Quan, was awesome! Very pleasant & there when you needed him! We had a very nice dining experience!

My husband and I love this restaurant, we have been coming here for about a year now. So when my sister moved to town I thought I would take her to our favorite spot, I was ecstatic. We ordered scrambled eggs and hash browns and about half way through it we found eggshells! We then brought it to the manger’s(Terri) attention and she said«sorry that’s just how it is». I mean I understand we are all primal creatures and little eggshells never killed anyone. But the way the manager handled the situation was simply appalling. So maybe when I digest the eggshells I unknowingly consumed I will leave it at her front door with a lovely note that says«sorry that’s just how it is». Then maybe she’ll understand the magnitude of my disappointment. #itdidescalatequicklythough

You would think it would be difficult to ruin a simple breakfast, but Village Inn can do it. Besides the high prices(how about $ 2.59 for a cup of hot water and a tea bag), the long wait to be seated(they were not even busy), my breakfast consisted of eggs I could play Frisbee with, a burned pancake and hash browns so laden with butter that it made my stomach upset. To be fair, the manager did offer to pay for my uneaten breakfast but I declined — I would have taken the offer if I had really felt his concern was real. Then he insisted on giving me a break on the bill — guess what it was – a senior citizen discount that I would have received anyway since I’m a senior citizen. Hoping your experience will be better than mine.

Pretty busy place. Was apprehensive of this establishment based on its outside appearance but assured it was worthwhile after seeing how packed the parking lot was. Although busy, didn’t have to wait too long to be seated. Reasonably priced and decent food. Great staff from the hostess to our waiter.

I’ve been a fan of Village Inn for years! I must say though — that I’ve definitely gotten older — based on the time of my «visits.» Back in the day, my visits to Village Inn, or any other 24 hour spots, were between the hours of 2 – 3 a.m. — ALWAYS after a good night of partying at the oceanfront & especially Town Center(The good ‘ol days of Red Star & Guads!) Now I actually come during«daytime» regular hours — brunch, lunch, etc. :D No matter what time I come though, everyone is friendly and helpful — the hostess, wait staff, the cashier, everyone! The food is always great; I always opt for breakfast and brunch food here, since it’s served 24 hours. I don’t think I’ve ever ordered lunch or dinner entrees. I usually order a «skillet.» My favorites are the Country Fried Steak skillet and also the West Coast Skillet(eggs, bacon pieces, home fries, avocado, all topped with Hollandaise sauce.) Deeeeeeelish! Their French Toast is also bangin’. The place is clean as well. Renovations have been done in the past few years, which is always good. I would definitely return. I recommend this place any time of the day!

I’ve only been to Village Inn a few times, and it’s always the conclusion of a night out. On this particular night, we had a party of 10, but were able to get a table right away. Our server was able to attend to all of us at one time. She quickly put our orders in, and we probably received our food within the next 10 – 15 minutes. I chose the California skillet with whole grain pancakes, and I was so hungry that I finished it all! I was pleased with the quality and taste of the food. Our server even had time to bring us all another round of drinks. I enjoyed my experience here, but I definitely save it for a night out.

We came in on a holiday and super late. Jennifer was our waitress. This is the first place that I’ve been to that got a party of eight order correct. Ms. Jennifer was amazing making sure that our needs were met. She was very helpful and insightful on items on the menu. I ordered the turkey bacon avocado sandwich with fries and a side a sausage links cooked extra well. Everything was great. Service was on point, food was well prepared, and the atmosphere was cool. You guys get #2spoons from 1girl2spoons. Keep up the good work. I recommend this place to family and friends. Oooooo wait did I say that the hours are great. Okay I’m out lol.

I cannot believe I haven’t written a review yet! I’m from Jersey, which is home to the 24 hour diners. I used to be sad that there wasn’t anything like that here but Village Inn comes closr. You can order just about anything you want/need to eat at any time of the day. Bonus thumbs up for them being open 24 hours in the weekends. The prices are reasonable and they have pie.

Wow is the word! I have seen this place, pretty much all my life but had never eaten there until today. I had their Breakfast Skillet with Scrambled eggs with Cheddar Cheese and cut up Turkey sausage all on top of diced potatoes, tomatoes, onions, and green peppers… The seasoning was absolutely PERFECT! Yes, I WILL be coming back here with my family. Now, the service was really good too, other than it took«Jake» about 5 mins to notice I was seated. Other than that, he was very helpful and knowledgeable about the menu items. He did not steer me wrong. This was by far one of THEBEST breakfasts I’ve had in a long time.

I have been to VI over a hundred of times in Nebraska. They are always clean. Food is fresh… food is usually prompt. But the food was NOT fresh here. Took forever for us to be seated. Food took forever to come out. Manager was nice as PIE… no pun intended(as they are known for their pies). I will try them again… oh yeah VI staff if you are reading this… CLEANYOURBATHROOMS. Shame on ya’ll. I almost threw up my food once I walked in there… had I seen the bathrooms before I ate… I would have walked right out… Also, the management notes where guest can see them… is extremely unprofessional… one sign read«FINALWARNING: Employee are not allowed to take food home» Next sign: «Employee are not allowed to box food up and take home» Keep all that employee stuff behind the scenes… stay classy.

Wow. After our first visit, my husband and I had really thought we had found an awesome little diner type restaurant, and we were especially thrilled with the fact that they were open 24 hours on Friday and Saturday. So that’s exactly where our mind went when it was 1am yesterday and we were starving. We were out with a couple of friends when we all decided that we were all hungry(let me preface this by saying that we were not out drinking, so we were not being rude or obnoxious drunks during our visit here). My husband and I told our friends about this place since we had had such an amazing meal and experience here the last time, which resulted in my previously stellar review. They said it sounded great, so we decided to meet them there. My husband and I were the first to arrive, so we were seated at a booth to wait for our two friends to arrive. Our waitress, whose name was Mellisa(I’m not spelling this wrong, this was how she spelled it on our check and she pronounced it differently than Melissa) was brusque to begin with, and asked for our drink order. I ordered a water and my husband wanted sweet tea. She brought us two waters and walked away. We just blew this off, and she did bring a sweet tea over a few minutes later, saying she forgot he ordered tea. So after this, we browsed the menu while waiting for our friends. 5 minutes later, she came over and exasperatedly asked when our friends would be arriving. We said we weren’t sure and she just walked away. When our friends did arrive, she was over within seconds of them taking a seat, asking for their drink order and if they were ready to order their food. Seeing that they had literally just sat down, you can imagine that the answer was no. After bringing our drinks, Mellisa came back and took our order, sounding annoyed with us the entire time. We were all just baffled as to why our waitress was being so abrupt and rude, and she really seemed like she was already ready for us to leave even though we had been nothing but polite. When she did bring our food, she had no idea whose food was whose, and she essentially threw our food down and took off without asking if we needed anything. In addition, our food was very poor quality compared to our last visit. A few minutes later, she came back to refill our waters. She asked my husband if he wanted a refill on his water… which had been the sweet tea. He politely just said no and did not correct her or ask for a sweet tea refill instead, even though he had needed one for quite a while. The cherry on top of this visit is when we were all not even halfway done with our food and she came to the table, threw our checks down, and took off. And as soon as we were finished eating, she came over and grabbed all of our plates and left, without ever asking if we were finished with them. My husband still had an entire plate full of fries. After this, she never came back. She was on the other side of the room and she made sure to never turn around and look at us, making it impossible to even try to flag her down. She cleaned a countertop for much longer than was needed. It was clear she wanted us to leave and she wasn’t planning on coming back. Which was rather unfortunate, because our friends had really wanted to try the pie that we had been raving about to them before our visit here. Overall, this was certainly some of the absolute worst service that I’ve ever received. My entire meal felt rushed and uncomfortable thanks to our server’s attitude and treatment. My husband and I were honestly embarrassed that we had raved about this place to our friends, and then received this kind of food and service. So needless to say, maybe this ISN’T someplace we’ll be coming back to.

My go to here is the French skillet, but I decided to not get breakfast food. So I decided to try their All-World Double Burger with french fries. It was delicious! Fries were perfect, crispy on the outside and a little fluffy on the inside. The burger was the star of the show! Two beef patties with cheese, bacon and onion rings. Burger was sooo big I could barely fit it in my mouth. I couldn’t even finish the whole burger. I thought Village Inn was only good for their breakfast food, but now I know their burgers are on point too!

This is a good American diner. The menu is like Denny’s and IHOP but not really. I had the french skillet; coffee to start. It came out hot and it was delicious. I was craving pancakes and it came with them. That made me excited. Nice portion size, not huge, but a nice size. The atmosphere is quiet which is a change from my usual diner choice. Clean establishment and friendly wait staff. The prices are typical; nothing to write home about. Overall it was enjoyable. Nice job. I just may have to come back here.

I was in town center area looking for breakfast and I immediately pulled out my handy dandy Unilocal app to see what was nearby and I found this place. I knew it would be a winner when it seemed like a handful of my Unilocal friends visited here and gave it good reviews. You could compare the style of food to IHOP and around the same price, but when you have the choice of supporting a local business well, the Village Inn is here to service your breakfast all day, lunch and free pie on Wednesdays needs after 10am needs. They have free wifi as well but it was not working during my visit. The staff here is so friendly. I was greeted by the manager of the establishment and once seated was helped by a waitress that could have been copied and pasted from a old school movie diner set. Very bubbly, friendly and helpful with questions that I had. Similar to ihop once you receive your food, you get your check and go up to the front counter to pay. Regarding the food, the chocolate chip pancakes were the perfect size, not to big where I couldn’t eat them all but not small enough where I was begging for more. The country potatoes are fried so warning to those who prefer them grilled with onions and such, the waitress informed me so I steered away from them. I will definitely return if only for the good service which is hard to find these days.

I’m not a fan of waiting when I get to a restaurant. Really though, who is?! We came to Village Inn on Memorial Day around 11 am. Judging by the number of folks standing around outside, we were prepared for a long one. I gave the host my information. He didn’t tell us how long the wait would be, but we weren’t leaving. I have never been to Village Inn and I was anxiously awaiting a delicious brunch! About 10 minutes later, we were seated in a cozy booth in the corner near the kitchen. It wasn’t too loud — just right. We were promptly greeted and offered coffee by Linsey(Forgive me if I’ve misspelled the name!). She was a WONDERFUL server. We ordered and she was quick to offer an amendment that would leave me practically a second meal and only cost $.50. Who does that?! She clearly knows them menu very well and was incredibly helpful. My handsome man ordered the ham steak and eggs, which was accompanied by grits and pancakes. He seemed to thoroughly enjoy his meal! I had egg whites, turkey sausage, sliced fresh tomatoes and whole wheat pancakes. All was tasty but I prefer my pancakes to be a little fluffier. These were more dense than I was used to, but still good. I loved the hint of cinnamon. They also offer sugar free syrup if that’s your cup of tea! I’m very much looking forward to returning to try a salad(you’ve read my reviews right?! I’m a salad freak. even for one in a pancake heaven!). Our neighbors ordered a grilled chicken and fruit salad and it looked awesome!

If you are looking for mediocre breakfast place at a higher price then this is your place. Very comparable to an IHOP or Denny’s Wait staff was great and I like they leave a craft of coffee for you so you can refill your own when needed My eggs were warm not hot and the home fries were obviously frozen pre made potatoes not quality at all. The toast was buttered way too much and the bacon was ½ fat This is a place I won’t try again on my next visit to the area. I found a local spot that is 100 times better food, quality, atmosphere, and service Will say pie looks amazing in the case but dang it’s expensive

Met a fellow Unilocaler here because he’s here and I’d not reviewed it previously. Village Inn isn’t in my usual rotation of breakfast places and maybe that should change. Sure, they’re a chain(not as big as the«international» one or the one that starts with«D») but they are good at what they are good at — breakfast. And pies. I only had the former but I think I’ll be back for the latter soon. By the way, April is the bizness. This lady knows her stuff, is friendly and speedy. I wish there were more waitresses like her. Not just here, but elsewhere. I ordered a simple breakfast — ham and cheese omelet — and it arrived quickly. The omelet is the fat and fluffy kind, rather than the flat and folded kind. I prefer fluffy omelets when there’s an option. Nicely sized, well stuffed and the hash browns on the side were excellent. Toast, coffee, all the fixings. All good. Yep, I’ll be back to a Village Inn soon.

Village inn. i used to think that u were a hotel. I didn’t say I was the brightest light bulb in the bunch. Some one took me here once and I loved it! It’s like an IHOP pretty much, except better. It had an older kinda feel. If you’re craving something with a local kind of feel as opposed to a modern feel you should try it. even if it’s just for that nice big slice of cold banana cream pie. we are going for dinner tonight so I will update:) ** so we went here last night for dinner and it was even better then I remembered! ! The service was impeccable. The manager was nice as could be too. My kids loved it Jayden even said mommy these people cook good here:) I posted some pics the salad was perfect the ranch was delicious. the fries dipped in ranch were perfectly crunchy in every bite the sandwich was awesome. even better for lunch today I think! But the highlight of my night. MYFAVORITE banana cream pie… omg it’s heaven on a plate. seriously it was like it floated down from heaven and landed on my plate it was amazing! Love it! you have to try the pie just trust me and get a slice.

You know, I have driven past this«Village Inn» almost daily for over 10 years and never stopped, simply because of that funky looking exterior they have on the place. I had the false impression it would be a dump. Well, I looked at Unilocal and saw superb reviews for them, so I gave them a try. Very glad I did! The food and Menu is very comparable in price and taste to an Ihop, perhaps a little better. The service is(I hate this word as a prior military man, but will use it), «Outstanding». ! Other positives: They have a very nice display case full of great pies, and if you dine here on a Wednesday, pick a slice and enjoy it, as pie is Free on Wednesdays.(Call me a nut, I don’t like any Pie, except for meat pot pies), but… My wife was so happy to get a nice slice of pie for free, and that was great. She hadn’t been that excited since the last time she put money in the Coke machine, and 2 sodas fell out for the price of one. It’s the little things, you know… So overall, the outside with that weird green/orange awning may be pretty«outdated», but go inside! The food and the service are great.
